A quantitative version, based on modified K-functionals, of the classical Trotter's theorem concerning the approximation of C0-semigroups is presented. The result is applied to the study of the degree of convergence of the iterated Bernstein operators on the N-dimensional simplex to their limiting semigroup.  相似文献

We determine the essential spectra of algebraic combinations of Toeplitz operators with continuous symbol and composition operators induced by a class of linear-fractional non-automorphisms of the unit disk. The operators in question act on the Hardy space H2 on the unit disk. Our method is to realize the C*-algebra that they generate as an extension of the compact operators by a concrete C*-algebra whose invertible elements are easily characterized.  相似文献

In this paper, we define a realizability semantics for the simply typed λμ-calculus. We show that, if a term is typable, then it inhabits the interpretation of its type. This result serves to give characterizations of the computational behavior of some closed typed terms. In this paper, we introduce and study a new system of generalized mixed quasi-variational inclusions with (A,η)-accretive operators in q-uniformly smooth Banach spaces. By using the resolvent operator technique associated with (A,η)-accretive operators, we construct a new p-step iterative algorithm for solving this system of generalized mixed quasi-variational inclusions in real q-uniformly smooth Banach spaces. We also prove the existence of solutions for the generalized mixed quasi-variational inclusions and the convergence of iterative sequences generated by algorithm. We propose a new gradient projection algorithm that compares favorably with the fastest algorithms available to date for 1-constrained sparse recovery from noisy data, both in the compressed sensing and inverse problem frameworks. The method exploits a line-search along the feasible direction and an adaptive steplength selection based on recent strategies for the alternation of the well-known Barzilai–Borwein rules. The convergence of the proposed approach is discussed and a computational study on both well conditioned and ill-conditioned problems is carried out for performance evaluations in comparison with five other algorithms proposed in the literature.  相似文献

We determine the exact asymptotic behaviour of entropy numbers of diagonal operators from ℓp to ℓq, 0<q<p∞, under mild regularity conditions on the generating diagonal sequence. On one hand, this is a quantitative version of Pitt's theorem for diagonal operators, and on the other hand it is a limiting case of results by Carl. For a digraph G, a k-tuple twin dominating set D of G for some fixed k≥1 is a set of vertices such that every vertex is adjacent to at least k vertices in D, and also every vertex is adjacent from at least k vertices in D. If the subgraph of G induced by D is strongly connected, then D is called a connected k-tuple twin dominating set of G. Rather mild sufficient conditions are provided for the existence of positive solutions of a boundary value problem of the form
which unify several cases discussed in the literature. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the fact that the topological degree theory of Leray and Schauder may be used for the development of the topological degree theory for bounded demicontinuous (S+)-perturbations f of strongly quasibounded maximal monotone operators T in separable reflexive Banach spaces. Certain basic homotopy properties and the extension of this degree theory to (possibly unbounded) strongly quasibounded perturbations f are shown to hold. This work uses the well known embedding of Browder and Ton, and extends the work of Berkovits who developed this theory for the case T=0. Besides being an interesting mathematical problem, the existence of such a degree theory may, conceivably, become useful in situations where the use of the Leray–Schauder degree (via infinite dimensional compactness) is necessary.  相似文献

We investigate non-separable Banach spaces whose norm-open sets are countable unions of sets closed in the weak topology and a narrower class of Banach spaces with a network for the norm topology which is σ-discrete in the weak topology. In particular, we answer a question of Arhangel'skii exhibiting various examples of non-separable function spaces C(K) with a σ-discrete network for the pointwise topology and (consistently) we answer some questions of Edgar and Oncina concerning Borel structures and Kadec renormings in Banach spaces.  相似文献

A μ-algebra is a model of a first-order theory that is an extension of the theory of bounded lattices, that comes with pairs of terms (f,μx.f) where μx.f is axiomatized as the least prefixed point of f, whose axioms are equations or equational implications.Standard μ-algebras are complete meaning that their lattice reduct is a complete lattice. We prove that any nontrivial quasivariety of μ-algebras contains a μ-algebra that has no embedding into a complete μ-algebra.We then focus on modal μ-algebras, i.e. algebraic models of the propositional modal μ-calculus. We prove that free modal μ-algebras satisfy a condition–reminiscent of Whitman’s condition for free lattices–which allows us to prove that (i) modal operators are adjoints on free modal μ-algebras, (ii) least prefixed points of Σ1-operations satisfy the constructive relation μx.f=n≥0fn(). These properties imply the following statement: the MacNeille–Dedekind completion of a free modal μ-algebra is a complete modal μ-algebra and moreover the canonical embedding preserves all the operations in the class of the fixed point alternation hierarchy.  相似文献

The main goal of this paper is the development of the MRA theory in . We described a wide class of p-adic refinement equations generating p-adic multiresolution analyses. A method for the construction of p-adic orthogonal wavelet bases within the framework of the MRA theory is suggested. A realization of this method is illustrated by an example which gives a new 3-adic wavelet basis. Another realization leads to the p-adic Haar bases which were known before.  相似文献

In the Chung–Yao construction of poised nodes for bivariate polynomial interpolation [K.C. Chung, T.H. Yao, On lattices admitting unique Lagrange interpolations, SIAM J. Numer. Anal. 14 (1977) 735–743], the interpolation nodes are intersection points of some lines. The Berzolari–Radon construction [L. Berzolari, Sulla determinazione di una curva o di una superficie algebrica e su alcune questioni di postulazione, Lomb. Ist. Rend. 47 (2) (1914) 556–564; J. Radon, Zur mechanischen Kubatur, Monatsh. Math. 52 (1948) 286–300] seems to be more general, since in this case the nodes of interpolation lie (almost) arbitrarily on some lines. In 1982 Gasca and Maeztu conjectured that every poised set allowing the Chung–Yao construction is of Berzolari–Radon type. So far, this conjecture has been confirmed only for polynomial spaces of small total degree n≤4, the result being evident for n≤2 and not hard to see for n=3. For the case n=4 two proofs are known: one of J.R. Busch [J.R. Busch, A note on Lagrange interpolation in , Rev. Un. Mat. Argentina 36 (1990) 33–38], and another of J.M. Carnicer and M. Gasca [J.M. Carnicer, M. Gasca, A conjecture on multivariate polynomial interpolation, Rev. R. Acad. Cienc. Exactas Fís. Nat. (Esp.) Ser. A Mat. 95 (2001) 145–153]. Here we present a third proof which seems to be more geometric in nature and perhaps easier. We also present some results for the case of n=5 and for general n which might be useful for later consideration of the problem.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to apply the differential transformation method (DTM) to solve systems of nonautonomous nonlinear differential equations that describe several epidemic models where the solutions exhibit periodic behavior due to the seasonal transmission rate. These models describe the dynamics of the different classes of the populations. Here the concept of DTM is introduced and then it is employed to derive a set of difference equations for this kind of epidemic models. The DTM is used here as an algorithm for approximating the solutions of the epidemic models in a sequence of time intervals. In order to show the efficiency of the method, the obtained numerical results are compared with the fourth-order Runge–Kutta method solutions. Numerical comparisons show that the DTM is accurate, easy to apply and the calculated solutions preserve the properties of the continuous models, such as the periodic behavior. Furthermore, it is showed that the DTM avoids large computational work and symbolic computation.  相似文献
