Busemann-Petty问题及其相关研究综述

Busemann-Petty问题是凸几何及其相关学科中的一个极其重要的问题.在近几十年解决这一问题的过程中,凸几何学的研究领域和研究方法得到了极大的丰富和发展.本文首先阐述了Busemann-Petty问题的历史,然后综述了与Busemann-Petty问题紧密相关的一些公开问题和重要课题的研究现状和最新的进展.     

Codepth Two and Related Topics

A depth two extension A | B is shown to be weak depth two over its double centralizer V _A (V _A (B)) if this is separable over B. We consider various examples and non-examples of depth one and two properties. Depth two and its relationship to direct and tensor product of algebras as well as cup product of relative Hochschild cochains is examined. Section 6 introduces a notion of codepth two coalgebra homomorphism g : C → D, dual to a depth two algebra homomorphism. It is shown that the endomorphism ring of bicomodule endomorphisms End ^D C ^D forms a right bialgebroid over the centralizer subalgebra g ^* : D ^* → C ^* of the dual algebra C ^*. Factorizations of Finite Groups and Related Topics

This is a survey on the recent progress in the theory of finite groups with factorizations and around it,done by the author and his coauthors,and this has no pretensions to cover all topics in this wide area of research.In particular,we only touch the great consequences of the fundamental paper of Liebeck,Praeger and Saxl on maximal factorizations of almost simple finite groups for the theory of groups with factorizations.In each case the reader can find additional references at the end of Section 1.Some of the methods of investigation can be used to obtain information about finite groups in general,nilpotent algebras and related nearrings.     

Branching Processes with Immigration and Related Topics

This is a survey on the recent progresses in the study of branching processes with immigration, generalized Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes, and affine Markov processes. We mainly focus on the applications of skew convolution semigroups and the connections in those processes.

This is a survey about some recent developments of the minimum principle for plurisubharmonic functions and related topics.     

Monodromy of Rational KZ Equations and Some Related Topics

A special class of integrable Fuchsian systems on C ⁿ related to KZ equations is considered. We survey the construction of such systems and the list of the structural properties their monodromy representations. The relation of the Fuchsian systems obtained by the Veselov construction assosiated with a deformation of the A _n–1-type root system and the Gauss–Manin connection of the natural projection C ⁿ C ^n–1 is described. In this case, we prove that the monodromy representation is equivalent to the Burau representation of the Artin braid group. For a deformations of the other root system, we introduce generalized Burau representations. We conjecture that the integrable Fuchsian systems related to essential new finite sets of the vectors described by Veselov and Chalykh are the result of the Klares–Schlesinger isomonodromic deformations (or transformation) of the integrable Fuchsian system related to the Coxeter root systems.     

Some Expansions in Basic Fourier Series and Related Topics

We consider explicit expansions of some elementary and q-functions in basic Fourier series introduced recently by Bustoz and Suslov. Natural q-extensions of the Bernoulli and Euler polynomials, numbers, and the Riemann zeta function are discussed as a by-product.

Rational Functions Associated with the White Noise Space and Related Topics

Motivated by the hyper-holomorphic case we introduce and study rational functions in the setting of Hida’s white noise space. The Fueter polynomials are replaced by a basis computed in terms of the Hermite functions, and the Cauchy–Kovalevskaya product is replaced by the Wick product. D. The Golden Mean in Quantum Geometry,KnotTheory and Related Topics

The note summarizes some very recent and other not so well known results related tothe Golden Mean, φ, in theoretical physics. The subjects considered are knot theory,Noncommutative Geometry, four manifolds, Cantorian spacetime and quasi crystallography. Theinvolvement of the Golden Mean in these subjects is seen as an indication for an underlayingcoherent unity and unsuspected deep relationship which exists between various disciplines inphysics and which may appear when examined superficially to be unrelated although it is deeplyrelated.     

Lower Bounds for n-Term Approximations of Plane Convex Sets and Related Topics

In this paper, we establish lower bounds for n-term approximations in the metric of L ²⁽I ² ) of characteristic functions of plane convex subsets of the square I ² with respect to arbitrary orthogonal systems. It is shown that, as n, these bounds cannot decrease more rapidly than .     

Notes on the Incompressible Euler and Related Equations on $\BR^N$\

The author reviews briefly some of the recent results on the blow-up problem for the incompressible Euler equations on R^N and also presents Liouville type theorems for the incompressible and compressible fluid equations.     

A New Form of Fuzzy Compact Spaces and Related Topics via Fuzzy Idealization

Fuzzy ideals and the notion of fuzzy local function were introduced and studied by Sarkar[12] and by Mahmoud in [9]. The purpose of this paper deals with a fuzzy compactness modulo a fuzzy ideal. Many new sorts of weak and strong fuzzy compactness have been introduced to fuzzy topological spaces in the last twenty years but not have been studied using fuzzy ideals so,the main aim of our work in this paper is to define and study some new various types of fuzzy compactness with respect to fuzzy ideals namely fuzzy L-compact and L*-compact spaces. Also fuzzy compactness with respect to ideal is useful as unification and generalization of several others widely studied concepts. Possible application to superstrings and E∞ space-time are touched upon.
