A special two-soliton solution of sine-Gordon equation is obtained by using the Hirota direct method. It is shown in a mass-centre system how two kinks move and interact with each other.     

Separating Solution of a Quadratic Recurrent Equation

In this paper we consider the recurrent equation

$\Lambda_{p+1}=\frac{1}{p}\sum_{q=1}^pf\bigg(\frac{q}{p+1}\bigg)\Lambda _{q}\Lambda_{p+1-q}$

for p≥1 with f∈C[0,1] and Λ₁=y>0 given. We give conditions on f that guarantee the existence of y ⁽⁰⁾ such that the sequence Λ _p with Λ₁=y ⁽⁰⁾ tends to a finite positive limit as p→∞.

     

Numerical Solution of the Three-Dimensional Helmholtz Equation

We apply the homotopy analysis method to solve the nonhomogeneous multidimensional partial differential equation model problem. The analytic solutions are calculated in terms of convergent series with easily computable components. The nonhomogeneous problem is quickly solved by observing the self-canceling ＂noise＂ terms whose sum vanishes in the limit. Numerical results clearly reveal the complete reliability and efficiency of the proposed algorithm.     

Travelling Wave Solution of Korteweg-de Vries-Burger's Equation

An attempt has been made to obtain exact analytical travelling wave solution of Korteweg-de Vries-Burger's (KdVB) equation by the so-called tanh-method. This equation can be derived for dust ion acoustic shocks by using reduction perturbation method. It is found that an exact solution of the KdVB equation is obtained by tanh-method, provided the parameters involved satisfy a constraint relation. However a special exact analytical solution can be obtained where no such restriction is necessary. This solution has the structure of a shock wave. Numerical solution is also obtained for travelling wave with or without the assumption of the constraint relation. We have also found a singular solution in terms of cosech and coth functions.     

A General Solution of the Fokker-Planck Equation

The Fokker-Planck equation is useful to describe stochastic processes. Depending on the force acting in the system, the solution of this equation becomes complicated and approximate or numerical solutions are needed. The relation with the Schrödinger equation allows building a method to obtain solutions of the Fokker-Planck equation. However, this approach has been limited to the study of confined potentials, restricting its applicability. In this work, we suggest a general treatment for non-confining potentials through the use of series of functions based on the solution of the Schrödinger equation, with part of discrete spectrum and part of continuum spectrum. Two examples, the Rosen-Morse potential and a limited harmonic potential, are analyzed using the suggested approach.     

Numerical Solution of the Two-Dimensional Vlasov Equation

The two-dimensional Vlasov equation is solved by direct integration in phase space. Two problems, namely the nonlinear evolution of the two-dimensional electrostatic two-stream instability, and the nonlinear evolution of a monochromatic wave in a two-dimensional Vlasov plasma, are studied. Comparison with previously available results is given.     

Lie Algebraic Solution of Nonlinear Fokker-Planck Equation

The algebraic structure for nonlinear Fokker-Planck equation is discussed. By using Lie algebraic techniques, the exponent operator equation can be decomposed. A time evolution solution of nonlinear Brownian motion is given and can be compared with other theories.     

A New Current Algebra and the Reflection Equation

We establish an explicit algebra isomorphism between the quantum reflection algebra for the U_q([^(sl₂)]) R{U_q(\widehat{sl_2}) R}-matrix and a new type of current algebra. These two algebras are shown to be two realizations of a special case of tridiagonal algebras (q-Onsager).     

Baxterization of Solutions to Reflection Equation with Hecke R-matrix

Let R be a Hecke solution to the Yang–Baxter equation and K be a reflection equation matrix with coefficients in an associative algebra . Let R(x) be the baxterization of R and suppose that K satisfies a polynomial equation with coefficients in the center of . We construct solutions to the reflection equation with spectral parameter relative to R(x), in the form of polynomials in K.
