A simple, low cost and sensitive voltammetric sensor was developed for the simultaneous detection of Pb2+, Cd2+, and Zn2+ based on a disposable carbon fiber rod (CFR). The important factors to enhance the sensing property were creation of a clean surface by dealing with CFR at a high potential and electrochemical deposition of Bi film to improve the accumulation of heavy metal ions.  相似文献

A green and facile method was developed to prepare a novel hybrid nanocomposite that consisted of one-dimensional multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and two-dimensional graphene oxide (GO) sheets. The as-prepared three-dimensional GO–MWCNTs hybrid nanocomposites exhibit excellent water-solubility owing to the high hydrophilicity of GO components; meanwhile, a certain amount of MWCNTs loaded on the surface of GO sheets through π–π interaction seem to be “dissolved” in water. Moreover, the graphene(G)-MWCNTs nanocomposites with excellent conductivity were obtained conveniently by the direct electrochemical reduction of GO–MWCNTs nanocomposites. Seeing that there is a good synergistic effect between MWCNTs and graphene components in enhancing preconcentration efficiency of metal ions and accelerating electron transfer rate at G-MWCNTs/electrolyte interface, the G-MWCNTs nanocomposites possess fast, simultaneous and sensitive detection performance for trace amounts of heavy metal ions. The electrochemical results demonstrate that the G-MWCNTs nanocomposites can act as a kind of practical sensing material to simultaneously determine Pb2+ and Cd2+ ions in terms of anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV). The linear calibration plots for Pb2+ and Cd2+ ranged from 0.5 μg L−1 to 30 μg L−1. The detection limits were determined to be 0.2 μg L−1 (S/N = 3) for Pb2+ and 0.1 μg L−1 (S/N = 3) for Cd2+ in the case of a deposition time of 180 s. It is worth mentioning that the G-MWCNTs modified electrodes were successfully applied to the simultaneous detection of Cd2+ and Pb2+ ions in real electroplating effluent samples containing lots of surface active impurities, showing a good application prospect in the determination of trace amounts of heavy metals.  相似文献

A bismuth bulk electrode (BiBE) has been investigated as an alternative electrode for the anodic stripping voltammetric (ASV) analysis of Pb(II), Cd(II), and Zn(II). The BiBE, which is fabricated in-house, shows results comparable to those of similar analyses at other Bi-based electrodes. Metal accumulation is achieved by holding the electrode potential at −1.4 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) for 180 s followed by a square wave voltammetric stripping scan from −1.4 to −0.35 V. Calibration plots are obtained for all three metals, individually and simultaneously, in the10-100 μg L−1 range, with a detection limit of 93, 54, and 396 ng L−1 for Pb(II), Cd(II), Zn(II), respectively. A slight reduction in slope is observed for Cd(II) and Pb(II) when the three metals are calibrated simultaneously vs. individually. Comparing the sensitivities of the metals when calibrated individually vs. in a mixture reveals that Zn(II) is not affected by stripping in a mixture. However, Pb(II) and Cd(II) have decreasing sensitivities in a mixture. The optimized method has been successfully used to test contaminated river water by standard addition. The results demonstrate the ability of the BiBE as an alternative electrode material in heavy metal analysis.  相似文献

A typical, reproducible, and rugged screen printed carbon electrode, modified with dual-ion imprinted beads, was fabricated employing the “surface grafting from” approach. For this, the acyl chloride functionalized magnetic nanoparticles were first immobilized and chemically attached with a typical functional monomer (but-2-enedioic acid bis-[(2-amino-ethyl)-amide]) on the electrode surface. This was subsequently subjected to the thermal polymerization in the presence of template ions (Ce(IV) and Gd(III)), cross-linker (ethylene glycol dimethacrylate), initiator (AIBN), and multiwalled carbon nanotubes. The modified sensor was used for the simultaneous analysis of both template ions in aqueous, blood serum, and waste-water samples, using differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry which revealed two oxidation peaks for respective templates with resolution as much as 950 mV, without any cross reactivity, interferences and false-positives. The detection limits realized by the proposed sensor, under optimized conditions, were found to be as low as 0.07 ng mL−1 for Ce(IV) and 0.19 ng mL−1 for Gd(III) (S/N = 3) that could eventually be helpful for lanthanide estimation at stringent levels.  相似文献

As a representation of metalloproteins, metallothionein (MT), which plays important biological and environmental roles such as in the metabolism and detoxification of some metals, was detected at bismuth film electrode (BiFE) by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV). In pH 2–5.5, two well-defined anodic peaks were produced and attributed to the Zn2+ and Cd2+ inherent to MT. The calibration plot of DPASV peak currents for Cd2+ inherent to MT versus MT concentrations showed a good linearity with a detection limit of 3.86 × 10−8 mol/L for MT. As a non-toxic excellent electrode material, BiFE shows good performance for detecting MT, and is expected to find further applications in the studies of many other metalloproteins.  相似文献

The use of selective pre-concentration and differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV) using a carbon paste electrode modified (CPEM) with spinel-type manganese oxide has been proposed for the determination of lithium ions content in natural waters. The new procedure is based on the effective pre-concentration of lithium ions on the electrode surface containing spinel-type Mn(IV) oxide with the reduction of Mn(IV) to Mn(III) and consequently the lithium ions intercalation (insertion) into the spinel structure. The best DPASV response was reached for an electrode composition of 25% (m/m) spinel-type MnO2 in the paste, 0.1 mol l−1 tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane (TRIS) buffer solution of pH 8.3, scan rate of 5 mV s−1, accumulation potential of 0.3 V versus saturated calomel reference electrode (SCE), pre-concentration time of 30 s and potential pulse amplitude of 50 mV. In these experimental conditions, the proposed methodology responds to lithium ions in the concentration range of 2.8×10−6 to 2.0×10−3 mol l−1 with a detection limit of 5.6×10−7 mol l−1. The determination of the lithium ions content in different samples of natural waters samples using the proposed methodology and atomic absorption spectrophotometry are in agreement at the 95% confidence level and within an acceptable range of error.  相似文献

A stannum film electrode has been developed for the simultaneous determination of trace levels of chromium(III) and cadmium(II) by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV). The stannum film electrode was generated in situ by depositing simultaneously the stannum film and the metals obtained by reduction of Cd(II) and Cr(III) at −1.4 V on a glassy carbon electrode. Then, the reduced products were oxidized by scanning the potential of the electrode from −1.4 to −0.4 V using DPASV. The electrode exhibited well-defined and separated stripping signals for both metals accompanied with a low background contribution. The possible mechanism of this design was proposed. Under the optimized working conditions, the detection limit was 2.0 and 1.1 μg l−1 for Cr(III) and Cd(II) at a deposition time of 3 min. Finally, the stannum film electrode was successfully applied to the determination of Cd(II) in tap water with satisfactory results.  相似文献

The preparation of Hg(II)-modified multi walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) by reaction of oxidized MWCNT with aqueous HgCl2 was carried out. The Hg(II)-modified multi walled carbon nanotube (Hg(II)/MWCNT) dispersed in Nafion solution was used to coat the polished graphite electrode surface. The Hg(II)/MWCNT modified graphite electrode was held at a cathodic potential (−1.0 V) to reduce the coordinated Hg(II) to Hg forming nanodroplets of Hg. The modified electrode was characterized by FESEM/EDAX which provided useful insights on the morphology of the electrode. The SEM images showed droplets of Hg in the size of around 260 nm uniformly distributed on the MWCNT. Differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were used to study the Hg(II) binding with MWCNT. Differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry of ppb levels of cadmium and lead using the modified electrode yielded well-defined peaks with low background current under a short deposition time. Detection limit of 0.94 and 1.8 ng L−1 were obtained following a 3 min deposition for Pb(II) and Cd(II), respectively. Various experimental parameters were characterized and optimized. High reproducibility was observed from the RSD values for 20 repetitive measurements of Pb(II) and Cd(II) (1.7 and 1.9%, respectively). The determination of Pb(II) and Cd(II) in tap water and Pb(II) in human hair samples was carried out. The above method of fabrication of Hg(II)/MWCNT modified graphite electrode clearly suggests a safe route for preparing Hg immobilized electrode for stripping analysis.  相似文献

Lutetium has been determined by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry in an acidic solution containing Zn-EDTA. Lutetium (III) ions liberated zinc (II), which was preconcentrated on a hanging mercury drop electrode and stripped anodically, resulting in peak current linearly dependent on lutetium (III) concentration. Less than 0.4 ng mL−1 lutetium could be detected after a 2 min deposition.   相似文献

The determination of cadmium using a carbon paste electrode modified with organofunctionalized amorphous silica with 2-benzothiazolethiol was investigated. The Cd(II) oxidation peak was observed around −0.80 V (vs. SCE) in phosphate buffer (pH 4.0) in differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry. The best results were obtained under the following optimized conditions: 1 min accumulation time, 50 mV pulse amplitude, 20 mV s−1 scan rate in phosphate buffer pH 4.0. Using such parameters a linear dynamic range from 5.6×10−7 to 3.5×10−5 mol l−1 Cd(II) was observed with a sensitivity of 2.83 μA mol−1 l, limit of detection 1.0×10−7 mol l−1. Cd(II) spiked in a natural water sample was determined with 99% mean recovery at 10−7 mol l−1 level. Interference were also evaluated.  相似文献

The rapid simultaneous determination of cadmium, lead, copper, and mercury ions is performed by employing a disposable sensor modified with graphene oxide (GO) doped diaminoterthiophene (GO/DTT) for chronocoulometry (CC). The performances of CC with and without pre-deposition in two opposite potential step directions were compared with square wave anodic stripping voltammetry (SWASV) under various conditions. The surface of the GO/DTT modified screen print carbon electrode (SPCE) was characterized by SEM, EDXS, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Experimental variables that affect the response signal such as the pH, deposition time, type of supporting electrolyte, concentration of DTT, content ratio of GO to DTT, and Nafion content were optimized. Interference effects due to other heavy metal ions were also investigated. The dynamic ranges of SWASV and CC were between 1 ng mL−1 and 2.5 μg mL−1 and between 1 ng mL−1 and 10 μg mL−1, respectively. The detection limits for Cd2+, Pb2+, Cu2+, Hg2+ ions were 1.9 ± 0.4 ng mL−1, 2.8 ± 0.6 ng mL−1, 0.8 ± 0.2 ng mL−1, and 2.6 ± 0.9 ng mL−1 for the CC stripping method; 2.6 ± 0.2 ng mL−1, 0.5 ± 0.1 ng mL−1, 1.8 ± 0.3 ng mL−1, and 3.2 ± 0.3 ng mL−1 for the CC deposition method; and 7.1 ± 0.9, 1.9 ± 0.3, 0.4 ± 0.1, and 0.7 ± 0.1 ng mL−1 for SWASV. The reliability of the method for point-of-analysis was evaluated by analyzing a urine standard reference material and some water samples.  相似文献

The preconcentration and voltammetric behavior of BiIII on a sodium humate modified carbon paste electrode was studied by means of cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse stripping voltammetry (DPSV). The proposed measurement involves an initial nonelectrolytic preconcentration step in which BiIII is complexed by the surface modifier in a solution of 0.05 M KNO3-0.0106 M HNO3 (pH 2.0) and a subsequent electrochemical scan step in which the preconcentrated BiIII was reduced and then oxidized promptly in supporting electrolyte of 0.5 M HNO3. The resulting DPSV anodic current was proportional to the concentration of BiIII ion over the range of 4.78 × 10−8–1.44 × 10−5 M. The detection limit was 4.78 × 10−8 M. The proposed method was used to determine bismuth in various samples. Various factors affecting the electrode behavior were also investigated at the same time.  相似文献

Tap water samples (Assiut city, lie in the middle north of upper Egypt, approx. 370 km from Cairo, January-March, 2002) were taken from the eight sampling sites of different locations at Assiut city. The samples are analyzed to determine the total content of cadmium, copper, lead and zinc by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV) while nickel and cobalt are determined by a new simple differential pulse adsorptive stripping voltammetry (DPAdSV), using dimethylglyoxime (DMG) as the complexing agent. This method uses sodium sulfite as the supporting electrolyte, which facilitates the removal of oxygen interference without the traditional necessity of purging with inert gas. The effect of various parameters was studied using DPASV (for Cd, Pb, Cu and Zn) and AdSV (for Ni and Co) methods. Subsequently, under the so found experimental conditions, the stability of calibration curves and the detection limits (μg/l) have been determined. The data achieved (for all metals utility) are comparable to those measured by the graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometric (GF-AAS) method. The effects of the interferences between these metal ions have been investigated. Moreover, the effect of storage was discussed and the obtained results were compared favorably with standard official methods. Statistical analysis of the database exhibits applicability and the accuracy of the techniques. The results obtained from the two techniques (Voltammetry and GF-AAS) are in very good agreements in the most tap water samples.  相似文献

A simple and highly selective electrochemical method was developed for the single or simultaneous determination of paracetamol (N-acetyl-p-aminophenol, acetaminophen) and caffeine (3,7-dihydro-1,3,7-trimethyl-1H-purine-2,6-dione) in aqueous media (acetate buffer, pH 4.5) on a boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrode using square wave voltammetry (SWV) or differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). Using DPV with the cathodically pre-treated BDD electrode, a separation of about 550 mV between the peak oxidation potentials of paracetamol and caffeine present in binary mixtures was obtained. The calibration curves for the simultaneous determination of paracetamol and caffeine showed an excellent linear response, ranging from 5.0 × 10−7 mol L−1 to 8.3 × 10−5 mol L−1 for both compounds. The detection limits for the simultaneous determination of paracetamol and caffeine were 4.9 × 10−7 mol L−1 and 3.5 × 10−8 mol L−1, respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied in the simultaneous determination of paracetamol and caffeine in several pharmaceutical formulations (tablets), with results similar to those obtained using a high-performance liquid chromatography method (at 95% confidence level).  相似文献

The bismuth film electrode (BiFE), in combination with anodic stripping voltammetry, offers convenient measurement of low concentrations of tin. The procedure involves simultaneous in situ formation of the bismuth film electrode on a glassy carbon substrate electrode, together with electrochemical deposition of tin, in a non-deaerated model solution containing bismuth ions, catechol as complexing agent and the metal analyte, followed by an anodic stripping scan. The BiFE is characterized by an attractive electroanalytical performance, with two distinct voltammetric stripping signals corresponding to tin, accompanied with low background contributions. Several experimental parameters were optimized, such as concentration of bismuth ions and catechol, deposition potential, deposition time and pH of the model solution. In addition, a critical comparison is given with bare glassy carbon and mercury film electrodes, revealing the superior characteristics of BiFE for measurement of tin. BiFE exhibited highly linear behavior in the examined concentration range from 1 to 100 μg L−1 of tin (R2 = 0.997), an LoD of 0.26 μg L−1 tin, and good reproducibility with a calculated R.S.D. of 7.3% for 10 μg L−1 tin (n = 10). As an example, the practical applicability of BiFE was tested with the measurement of tin in a real sample of seawater.  相似文献

A cost-effective sequential injection monosegmented flow analysis (SI-MSFA) with anodic stripping voltammetric (ASV) detection has been developed for determination of Cd(II) and Pb(II). The bismuth film working electrode (BiFE) was employed for accumulative preconcentration of the metals by applying a fixed potential of −1.10 V versus Ag/AgCl electrode for 90 s. The SI-MSFA provides a convenient means for preparation of a homogeneous solution zone containing sample in an acetate buffer electrolyte solution and Bi(III) solution for in situ plating of BiFE, ready for ASV measurement at a flow through thin layer electrochemical cell. Under the optimum conditions, linear calibration graphs in range of 10-100 μg L−1 of both Cd(II) and Pb(II) were obtained with detection limits of 1.4 and 6.9 μg L−1 of Cd(II) and Pb(II), respectively. Relative standard deviations were 2.7 and 3.1%, for 11 replicate analyses of 25 μg L−1 Cd(II) and 25 μg L−1 Pb(II), respectively. A sample throughput of 12 h−1 was achieved with low consumption of reagent and sample solutions. The system was successfully applied for analysis of water samples collected from a draining pond of zinc mining, validating by inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) method.  相似文献

This work described a novel type of bismuth/poly(bromocresol purple) film modified glassy carbon electrode (denoted as Bi/Poly(BCP)/GCE) for anodic stripping analysis of trace Cd2+. The Bi/Poly(BCP)/GCE was fabricated in situ by depositing simultaneously bismuth and cadmium by reduction at ?1.20 V on the poly(BCP) film using a differential pulse voltammetry. Under the optimum conditions, the anodic stripping peak current response increased linearly with the Cd2+ concentrations in a range of 2.0×10?8–1.0×10?7 M and 1.0×10?7–6.0×10?6 M in 0.1 M NaAc‐HAc buffer solution (pH 5.0) with the detection limit of 6.5×10?9 M (S/N=3). The Bi/poly(BCP)/GCE performed good reproducibility and high sensitivity. Finally, this proposed method was successfully applied to determine the concentration of Cd2+ in water samples.  相似文献

In this work, a simple, rapid, reliable and low cost method for simultaneous electrochemical determination of As, Cu, Hg and Pb ions, on a vibrating gold microwire electrode combined with stripping voltammetry, is described for the first time. The multi-element detection was performed in the presence of oxygen by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV) in HCl 0.1 M with NaCl 0.5 M. This media was found optimum in terms of peak resolution, peak shape and sensitivities, and has a composition similar to seawater to which the method could potentially be applied. The gold microwire electrode presented well defined, undistorted, sharp and reproducible peaks for trace concentrations of Cu, Hg and Pb and As presented a reproducible peak with a small shoulder. Using a gold vibrating microwire electrode of 25 μm diameter and 30 s deposition time, the detection limits of As, Cu, Hg and Pb were 0.07, 0.4, 0.07 and 0.2 μg L−1, respectively. Possible effects of Al, Cd, Cr, Fe, Mn, Ni, Sb and Zn were investigated but did not cause any significant interferences. Finally, the method was applied for the simultaneous determination of these four metals in unpolluted river water samples and the results were validated by Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy with Electrothermal Atomization (AAS-EA) or by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS).  相似文献

A simple and effective chemically modified carbon paste electrode (CMCPE) for the simultaneous determination of lead(II) and cadmium(II) was developed in this work. The electrode was prepared by the addition of diacetyldioxime into a carbon paste mixture. Pb2+ and Cd2+ were preconcentrated on the surface of the modified electrode by complexing with diacetyldioxime and reduced at a negative potential (−1.10 V). Then the reduced products were oxidized by differential pulse stripping. The fact that two stripping peaks appeared on the voltammograms at the potentials of −0.65 V (Cd2+) and −0.91 V (Pb2+) demonstrates the possibility of simultaneous determination of Pb2+ and Cd2+. Under the optimized working conditions, calibration graphs were linear in the concentration ranges of 1.0×10−7-1.5×10−5 mol l−1 (Pb2+) and 2.5×10−7-2.5×10−5 mol l−1 (Cd2+), respectively. For 5 min preconcentration, detection limits of 1×10−8 mol l−1 (Pb2+) and 4×10−8 mol l−1 (Cd2+) were obtained at the signal noise ratio (SNR) of 3. To evaluate the reproducibility of the newly developed electrode, the measurements of 5×10−7 mol l−1 Pb2+ and Cd2+ were parallel carried out for six times at different electrodes and the relative standard deviations were 2.9% (Pb2+) and 3.2% (Cd2+), respectively. Interferences by some metals were investigated. Only Ni2+ and Hg2+ apparently affected the peak currents of Pb2+ and Cd2+. The diacetyldioxime modified carbon paste electrode was applied to the determination of Pb2+ and Cd2+ in water samples. The results indicate that this electrode is sensitive and effective for the simultaneous determination of Pb2+ and Cd2+.  相似文献

We examined the use of a bismuth-glassy carbon (Bi/C) composite electrode for the determination of trace amounts of lead and cadmium. Incorporated bismuth powder in the composite electrode was electrochemically dissolved in 0.1 M acetate buffer (pH 4.5) where nanosized bismuth particles were deposited on the glassy carbon at the reduction potential. The anodic stripping voltammetry on the Bi/C composite electrode exhibited well-defined, sharp and undistorted peaks with a favorable resolution for lead and cadmium. Comparing a non-oxidized Bi/C composite electrode with an in-situ plated bismuth film electrode, the Bi/C composite electrode exhibited superior performance due to its much larger surface area. The limit of detection was 0.41 μg/L for lead and 0.49 μg/L for cadmium. Based on this study, we are able to conclude that various types of composite electrodes for electroanalytical applications can be developed with a prudent combination of electrode materials.  相似文献
