Poly(sulfenyl thiocarbonates) have been prepared for the first time by the stepwise condensation of chlorocarbonylsulfenyl chloride with diols and dithiols. The polymers were obtained in high yield. Generally they were crystalline solids and were soluble in chlorinated hydrocarbons. On treatment with benzyl mercaptan in the presence of triethylamine, the polymers afforded a diol, carbonyl sulfide, and a disulfide compound. This reaction was extended to the preparation of alternating copolydisulfides.  相似文献

The ring-opening, nucleophilic addition of amine-terminated oligomers to alkenyl azlactones was exploited to prepare reactive, that is, in free radical polymerizations, oligomers that could be used in 100% solids resin systems. Acrylamide-functional oligomers resulted from the reaction that used 2-vinyl-4,4-dimethylazlactone, whereas methacrylamide-functional oligomers were produced with 2-isopropenyl-4,4-dimethylazlactone. The overall reaction took place under mild conditions, for example, a few hours at room temperature, and was particularly free of side reactions. Examination of reaction rates with the two alkenyl azlactones revealed that the 2-vinyl derivative reacted ca. four times faster. The (meth)acrylamide-terminated resins were characterized by IR, NMR, and molecular weight analyses.  相似文献

A new ring-opening reaction of 1,3,4-oxadiazole by methylating reagents was developed in fuming sulfuric acid or polyphosphoric acid and then, by applying this reaction to poly-p-phenylene-1,3,4-oxadiazole, a high molecular weight poly-N-methylterephthalylhydrazide was obtained. Various methylating reagents were investigated as ring-opening reagents. The degrees of ring-opening in polymers were estimated and related to the properties of the polymers.  相似文献

Manganese-oxo complexes have long been investigated because of their proposed roles in biological and chemical catalysis. However, there are few examples of monomeric complexes with terminal oxo ligands, especially those with oxomanganese(IV) units. A oxomanganese(IV) complex has been prepared from [MnIIIH3buea(O)]2- ([H3buea]3-, tris[(N'-tert-butylureaylato)-N-ethylene]aminato), a monomeric MnIII-O complex in which the oxo ligand arises from cleavage of dioxygen. Treating [MnIIIH3buea(O)]2- with [Cp2Fe]BF4 in either DMF at -45 degrees C or DMSO at room temperature produces [MnIVH3buea(O)]-: lambdamax = 635 nm; nu(Mn-16O) = 737 cm-1; nu(Mn-18O) = 709 cm-1; g = 5.15, 2.44, 1.63, D = 3.0 cm-1, E/D = 0.26, aMn = 66 G (A = 190 MHz). These spectroscopic properties support the assignment of a mononuclear MnIV-oxo complex with an S = 3/2 ground state. Density functional theory supports this assignment and the Jahn-Teller distortion around the high-spin MnIV center that would alter the molecular structure of [MnIVH3buea(O)]- from trigonal symmetry (as indicated by the highly rhombic EPR signal). [MnIVH3buea(O)]- is relatively unstable in DMSO, converting to [MnIIIH3buea(OH)]- via a proposed X-H bond cleavage. [MnIVH3buea(O)]- reacts with 1,2-diphenylhydrazine to from azobenzene (95% yield) and [MnIIIH3buea(OH)]-. The MnIV-oxo does not react with triphenyl- or tricyclohexylphosphine. However, O-atom transfer is observed with methyldiphenylphosphine and dimethylphenylphosphine, producing the corresponding phosphine oxides. These results illustrate the diverse reactivity of the MnIV-oxo unit.  相似文献

An attempt has been made to prepare some new polyamide hydrazides of high thermal stability with different dicarboxylic acid chlorides by the solution polymerization technique. The polymerization was carried out at -20°C. Amide linkage was present in each polymer unit. Results of thermal degradation and thermogravimetric analysis indicate that these polymers melt or decompose above 350°C, and the steep weight loss of the polymer takes place in the range 360–390°C. Most of the polyhydrazides are soluble in organic solvents.  相似文献

Colloidal dispersions of uniform spherical particles of cadmium phosphate, nickel basic phosphate, and manganese (II) phosphate were prepared by aging at elevated temperatures metal salt solutions and phosphoric acid or sodium dihydrogen phosphate in the presence of urea and sodium dodecyl sulfate. Uniform spheres were obtained only if urea and the surfactant were added within a given range of concentrations.The spherical particles were amorphous as prepared. Cadmium phosphate and nickel basic phosphate particles crystallized when calcined at appropriate temperatures. Manganese (II) phosphate particles underwent a phase transformation to crystalline plate-like solids when aged in doubly distilled water at room temperature.Supported by NFS grant CHE-8619509.Part of M. It is shown that, for a new class of polymers, ferromagnetic superexchange may arise. The model polymers of the new class have specific electronic structure. In addition to the delocalized system of coupled π electrons, these polymers have singly occupied molecular orbitals localized within each monomer unit. The localized electrons are indirectly exchange coupled, mediated via delocalized orbitals. The resultant exchange interaction is ferromagnetically signed. It depends strongly on the energy gap of the delocalized π-electron system. The suggested model is close to the superexchange of some rare earth magnetics where magnetic f electrons interact indirectly due to delocalized s electron system. The theory of Ruderman, Kittel, Kasuya and Yosida is used in the quantitative treatment of the exchange interaction.  相似文献

A series of purified graft copolymers of cellulose acetate and polystyrene, which were prepared and characterized during the course of an earlier investigation, have been used for some initial property studies. Grafts with high molecular weight backbones and low molecular weight side chains and vice versa, and with both side chains and backbones of high and low molecular weights, were prepared. The graft polymers were found to be insoluble in most solvents but soluble in dimethylformamide and pyridine and in mixtures of solvents for each component. Films cast from mixtures of the grafts and homopolymers showed that the grafts were compatible with the homopolymer of the component with a higher molecular weight. A graft copolymer with high molecular weight backbone and side chains was found to be compatible with both homopolymers separately and with a mixture of both across a wide range of compositions. A blend of the high and low molecular weight grafts was also found to be highly compatible with both homopolymers. The permeability, diffusion, and sorption of gases and water vapor in the grafts and in the corresponding homopolymers was also studied. In the case of water vapor, the sorption in cellulose acetate was much higher than in polystyrene whereas the diffusion was much lower. It was found that the graft polymers showed both diffusion and solution behavior closer to that of cellulose acetate, whereas the permeability constants were more intermediate between those of the two homopolymers. The gas permeability and diffusion constants were found to be intermediate between the values obtained with the two homopolymers.  相似文献
