We propose the study of certain discretizations of geometric evolution equations as an approach to the study of the existence problem of some elliptic partial differential equations of a geometric nature as well as a means to obtain interesting dynamics on certain infinite-dimensional spaces. We illustrate the fruitfulness of this approach in the context of the Ricci flow, as well as another flow, in Kähler geometry. We introduce and study dynamical systems related to the Ricci operator on the space of Kähler metrics that arise as discretizations of these flows. We pose some problems regarding their dynamics. We point out a number of applications to well-studied objects in Kähler and conformal geometry such as constant scalar curvature metrics, Kähler-Ricci solitons, Nadel-type multiplier ideal sheaves, balanced metrics, the Moser-Trudinger-Onofri inequality, energy functionals and the geometry and structure of the space of Kähler metrics. E.g., we obtain a new sharp inequality strengthening the classical Moser-Trudinger-Onofri inequality on the two-sphere.  相似文献

This note is a step towards demonstrating the benefits of a symplectic approach to studying equivariant Kähler geometry. We apply a local differential geometric framework from Kähler toric geometry due to Guillemin and Abreu to the case of the standard linear SU(n) action on Cn?{0}. Using this framework we (re)construct certain Kähler metrics from data on moment polytopes.  相似文献

Consider a holomorphic $#x2102;×-action on a possibly noncompact Kähler manifold. We show that the highercohomology groups appearing in the geometric quantization of thesymplectic quotient are isomorphic to the invariant parts of thecorresponding cohomology groups of the original manifold. Fornon-Abelian group actions on compact Kähler manifolds, this resultwas proved recently by Teleman. Our approach is applying the holomorphicinstanton complex to the prequantum line bundles over the symplecticcuts. We also settle a conjecture of Zhang and the present author on theexact sequence of higher cohomology groups in the context of symplecticcutting.  相似文献

We discuss algebraic properties for the symbols of geometric first order differential operators on Kähler manifolds. Through a study of the universal enveloping algebra and higher Casimir elements, we know a lot of relations for the symbols, which induce Bochner identities for the operators. As applications, we have vanishing theorems, eigenvalue estimates, and so on.  相似文献

We prove that the existence of a Kähler-Einstein metric on a Fano manifold is equivalent to the properness of the energy functionals defined by Bando, Chen, Ding, Mabuchi and Tian on the set of Kähler metrics with positive Ricci curvature. We also prove that these energy functionals are bounded from below on this set if and only if one of them is. This answers two questions raised by X.-X. Chen. As an application, we obtain a new proof of the classical Moser-Trudinger-Onofri inequality on the two-sphere, as well as describe a canonical enlargement of the space of Kähler potentials on which this inequality holds on higher-dimensional Fano Kähler-Einstein manifolds.  相似文献

We call a quaternionic Kähler manifold with nonzero scalar curvature, whosequaternionic structure is trivialized by a hypercomplex structure, ahyper-Hermitian quaternionic Kähler manifold. We prove that every locallysymmetric hyper-Hermitian quaternionic Kähler manifold is locally isometricto the quaternionic projective space or to the quaternionic hyperbolic space.We describe locally the hyper-Hermitian quaternionic Kähler manifolds withclosed Lee form and show that the only complete simply connected suchmanifold is the quaternionic hyperbolic space.  相似文献

We study a problem of the geometric quantization for the quaternionprojective space. First we explain a Kähler structure on the punctured cotangent bundleof the quaternion projective space, whose Kähler form coincides withthe natural symplectic form on the cotangent bundle and show thatthe canonical line bundle of this complex structure is holomorphicallytrivial by explicitly constructing a nowhere vanishing holomorphicglobal section. Then we construct a Hilbert space consisting of acertain class of holomorphic functions on the punctured cotangentbundle by the method ofpairing polarization and incidentally we construct an operatorfrom this Hilbert space to the L 2 space of the quaternionprojective space. Also we construct a similar operator between thesetwo Hilbert spaces through the Hopf fiberation.We prove that these operators quantizethe geodesic flow of the quaternion projective space tothe one parameter group of the unitary Fourier integral operatorsgenerated by the square root of the Laplacian plus suitable constant.Finally we remark that the Hilbert space above has the reproducing kernel.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the coisotropic submanifolds in a Kähler manifold of nonnegative holomorphic curvature. We prove an intersection theorem for compact totally geodesic coisotropic submanifolds and discuss some topological obstructions for the existence of such submanifolds. Our results apply to Lagrangian submanifolds and real hypersurfaces since the class of coisotropic submanifolds includes them. As an application, we give a fixed-point theorem for compact Kähler manifolds with positive holomorphic curvature. Also, our results can be further extended to nearly Kähler manifolds.  相似文献

We introduce the notion of domains with uniform squeezing property, study various analytic and geometric properties of such domains and show that they cover many interesting examples, including Teichmüller spaces and Hermitian symmetric spaces of non-compact type. The properties supported by such manifolds include pseudoconvexity, hyperconvexity, Kähler-hyperbolicity, vanishing of cohomology groups and quasi-isometry of various invariant metrics. It also leads to nice geometric properties for manifolds covered by bounded domains and a simple criterion to provide positive examples to a problem of Serre about Stein properties of holomorphic fiber bundles.  相似文献

We apply the Tian-Todorov method, proving the Bogomolov
smoothness theorem (for deformations of compact Kähler manifolds) to deformations of the regular part of a Stein space with a finite number of isolated singular points. By the argument based on the Hodge structure on a strongly pseudo-convex Kähler domain or on a punctured Kähler space, we obtain an unobstructed subspace of the infinitesimal deformation space.

An isometric immersion of a Riemannian manifold into a Kählerian manifold is called slant if it has a constant Wirtinger angle. A slant submanifold is called Kählerian slant if its canonical structure is parallel. In this article, we prove a general inequality relating the mean and scalar curvatures of Kählerian slant submanifolds in a complex space form. We also classify Kählerian slant submanifolds which satisfy the equality case of the inequality. Several related results on slant submanifolds are also proved.  相似文献

Two Kähler metrics on a complex manifold are called c-projectively equivalent if their J  -planar curves coincide. Such curves are defined by the property that the acceleration is complex proportional to the velocity. The degree of mobility of a Kähler metric is the dimension of the space of metrics that are c-projectively equivalent to it. We give the list of all possible values of the degree of mobility of a simply connected Kähler manifold by reducing the problem to the study of parallel Hermitian (0,2)(0,2)-tensors on the conification of the manifold. We also describe all such values for a Kähler–Einstein metric. We apply these results to describe all possible dimensions of the space of essential c-projective vector fields of Kähler and Kähler–Einstein metrics. We also show that two c-projectively equivalent Kähler–Einstein metrics (of arbitrary signature) on a closed manifold have constant holomorphic curvature or are affinely equivalent.  相似文献

We prove that no nilpotent Lie algebra admits an invariant generalized Kähler structure. In this paper, we study strongly convex Kähler–Finsler manifolds. Let M=P(E) be the complex manifold underlying the total space of the projectivization of a holomorphic vector bundle EΣ over a compact complex curve Σ of genus ?2. Building on ideas of Fujiki (1992) [27], we prove that M admits a Kähler metric of constant scalar curvature if and only if E is polystable. We also address the more general existence problem of extremal Kähler metrics on such bundles and prove that the splitting of E as a direct sum of stable subbundles is necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of extremal Kähler metrics in Kähler classes sufficiently far from the boundary of the Kähler cone. The methods used to prove the above results apply to a wider class of manifolds, called rigid toric bundles over a semisimple base, which are fibrations associated to a principal torus bundle over a product of constant scalar curvature Kähler manifolds with fibres isomorphic to a given toric Kähler variety. We discuss various ramifications of our approach to this class of manifolds.  相似文献
