In the present paper, we generalize the linear canonical transform (LCT) to quaternion‐valued signals, known as the quaternionic LCT (QLCT). Using the properties of the LCT, we establish an uncertainty principle for the two‐sided QLCT. This uncertainty principle prescribes a lower bound on the product of the effective widths of quaternion‐valued signals in the spatial and frequency domains. It is shown that only a Gaussian quaternionic signal minimizes the uncertainty. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

The quaternion Fourier transform (QFT) is one of the key tools in studying color image processing. Indeed, a deep understanding of the QFT has created the color images to be transformed as whole, rather than as color separated component. In addition, understanding the QFT paves the way for understanding other integral transform, such as the quaternion fractional Fourier transform, quaternion linear canonical transform, and quaternion Wigner–Ville distribution. The aim of this paper is twofold: first to provide some of the theoretical background regarding the quaternion bound variation function. We then apply it to derive the quaternion Fourier and linear canonical inversion formulas. Secondly, to provide some in tuition for how the quaternion Fourier and linear canonical inversion theorems work on the absolutely integrable function space. To further study the Hermitian and non‐Hermitian splitting methods for a non‐Hermitian and positive‐definite matrix, we introduce a so‐called lopsided Hermitian and skew‐Hermitian splitting and then establish a class of lopsided Hermitian/skew‐Hermitian (LHSS) methods to solve the non‐Hermitian and positive‐definite systems of linear equations. These methods include a two‐step LHSS iteration and its inexact version, the inexact Hermitian/skew‐Hermitian (ILHSS) iteration, which employs some Krylov subspace methods as its inner process. We theoretically prove that the LHSS method converges to the unique solution of the linear system for a loose restriction on the parameter α. Moreover, the contraction factor of the LHSS iteration is derived. The presented numerical examples illustrate the effectiveness of both LHSS and ILHSS iterations. In this paper we introduce the continuous quaternion wavelet transform (CQWT). We express the admissibility condition in terms of the (right-sided) quaternion Fourier transform. We show that its fundamental properties, such as inner product, norm relation, and inversion formula, can be established whenever the quaternion wavelets satisfy a particular admissibility condition. We present several examples of the CQWT. As an application we derive a Heisenberg type uncertainty principle for these extended wavelets. 相似文献

在保持非负定性不变的前提下,本文对矩阵每一元素容许多大的扰动作了进一步的研究, 将本文的结论和C.R.Johnson提出的部分正定阵的正定完备化进行比较,容易发现对已知的正定矩阵求扰动,本文的结论比用C.R.Johnson的正定完备化计算扰动形式上更简单,同时也给出了不同于C.R.Johnson的部分正定阵的正定完备化表示的另外一个公式,推出了这些正定完备化矩阵应具有的若干性质. 相似文献

Given an n × n matrix F, we find the nearest symmetric positive semi‐definite Toeplitz matrix T to F. The problem is formulated as a non‐linear minimization problem with positive semi‐definite Toeplitz matrix as constraints. Then a computational framework is given. This paper deals with conditionally positive definite kernels on Euclidean spaces. The focus here is on dot product kernels, that is, those depending on the inner product of the variables. Among the results, we include some properties relating conditional positive definiteness and standard convolution in the line and also results related to the characterization of the conditionally positive definite dot product kernels with respect to finite-dimensional polynomial spaces.
