A porous medium equation with nonlocal boundary condition and a localized source

This article studies the blow-up properties of solutions to a porous medium equation with nonlocal boundary condition and a general localized source. Conditions for the existence of global or blow-up solutions are obtained. Moreover, it is proved that the unique solution has global blow-up property whenever blow-up occurs. Blow-up rate estimates are also obtained for some special cases.     

Standing waves for a coupled nonlinear Hartree equations with nonlocal interaction

Standing wave solutions of coupled nonlinear Hartree equations with nonlocal interaction are considered. Such systems arises from mathematical models in Bose–Einstein condensates theory and nonlinear optics. The existence and non-existence of positive ground state solutions are proved under optimal conditions on parameters, and various qualitative properties of ground state solutions are shown. The uniqueness of the positive solution or the positive ground state solution are also obtained in some cases.     

Traveling waves in a nonlocal dispersal population model with age-structure

This paper is concerned with the traveling waves in a single species population model which is derived by considering the nonlocal dispersal and age-structure. If the birth function is monotone, then the existence of traveling wavefront is reduced to the existence of a pair of super and subsolutions without the requirement of smoothness. It is proved that the traveling wavefront is strictly increasing and unique up to a translation. The asymptotic behavior of traveling wavefronts is also obtained. If the birth function is not monotone, the existence of traveling wave solution is affirmed by introducing two auxiliary nonlocal dispersal equations with quasi-monotonicity.     

Solvability of an integrodifferential equation arising in the nonlocal interaction of waves

The solvability of an integrodifferential equation arising in the problem of nonlocal wave interaction is analyzed. A mathematically substantiated method based on applying an Ambartsumyan-type equation is proposed for the analytical solution of the problem. Some numerical results are presented.     

Nonlinear interaction of internal and surface gravity waves in a two-layer fluid with free surface

A new nonlinear model of the propagation of wave packets in the system “liquid layer with solid bottom–liquid layer with free surface” is considered. With the use of the method of multiple-scale expansions, the first three linear approximations of the nonlinear problem are obtained. Solutions of problem of the first approximation are constructed and analyzed in detail. It is shown that there exist internal and surface components of the wave field, and their interaction is analyzed.     

Propagation and interaction of short waves in a homogeneous transversally isotropic elastic medium

The Cauchy problem for the equations of motion of a homogeneous transversally isotropic elastic medium is considered. For its solution, a short-wavelength asymptotic expansion is constructed, which is also applicable near specific directions. The resonance set, i.e., the set of points at which the ray expansion cannot be used is described.     

Global blow-up for a localized nonlinear parabolic equation with a nonlocal boundary condition

This paper deals with the blow-up properties of positive solutions to a nonlinear parabolic equation with a localized reaction source and a nonlocal boundary condition. Under certain conditions, the blowup criteria is established. Furthermore, when f(u)=up, 0<p?1, the global blowup behavior is shown, and the blowup rate estimates are also obtained.     

Global blow-up for a localized quasilinear parabolic system with nonlocal boundary conditions

In this article, we investigate the positive solution of a localized quasilinear parabolic system with nonlocal boundary conditions. Under certain conditions, the global existence and finite time blow-up criteria are established, and the global blow-up behaviour is also obtained.     

Traveling waves in a nonlocal dispersal SIR epidemic model

This paper is concerned with traveling wave solutions of a nonlocal dispersal SIR epidemic model. The existence and nonexistence of traveling wave solutions are determined by the basic reproduction number and the minimal wave speed. This threshold dynamics are proved by Schauder’s fixed point theorem and the Laplace transform. The main difficulties are that the semiflow generated by the model does not have the order-preserving property and the solutions lack of regularity.     

Nonlinear hyperbolic systems with nonlocal boundary conditions

A system of nonlinear hyperbolic equations with boundary conditions of renewal type is studied as a general mathematical model for structured biological populations.     

Regular traveling waves for a nonlocal diffusion equation

In this paper, we study a nonlocal diffusion equation with a general diffusion kernel and delayed nonlinearity, and obtain the existence, nonexistence and uniqueness of the regular traveling wave solutions for this nonlocal diffusion equation. As an application of the results, we reconsider some models arising from population dynamics, epidemiology and neural network. It is shown that there exist regular traveling wave solutions for these models, respectively. This generalized and improved some results in literatures.     

Meson correlation functions for a model with nonlocal four-fermion interaction

We study meson correlation functions for several models with a four-fermion quark interaction. We show that although the system average energy and quark condensate, as previously noted, are singular, the meson observables are finite, completely recognizable, and comparable to the experimental data on the energy scale. This permits using a wide set of Hamiltonians to model nonequilibrium states of quark and hadronic systems, which is a relevant problem in studying the physics of ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. We obtain analytic expressions for the meson correlation functions in the Keldysh model.     

Roles of weight functions to a nonlinear porous medium equation with nonlocal source and nonlocal boundary condition

In this paper we investigates the blow-up properties of the positive solutions to a porous medium equation with nonlocal reaction source and with nonlocal boundary condition, we obtain the blow-up condition and its blow-up rate estimate.
