Let F be a non-Archimedean local field of characteristic 0, let G be the group of F-rational points of a connected reductive group defined over F and let \({G\prime}\) be the group of F-rational points of its quasi-split inner form. Given standard modules \({I(\tau, \nu )}\) and \({I(\tau\prime, \nu\prime)}\) for G and \({G\prime}\) respectively with \({\tau\prime}\) a generic tempered representation, such that the Harish-Chandra \({\mu}\)-function of a representation in the supercuspidal support of \({\tau}\) agrees with the one of a generic essentially square-integral representation in some Jacquet module of \({\tau\prime}\) (after a suitable identification of the underlying spaces under which \({\nu = \nu\prime}\)), we show that \({I(\tau, \nu)}\) is irreducible whenever \({I(\tau\prime, \nu\prime)}\) is. The conditions are satisfied if the Langlands quotients \({J(\tau, \nu})\) and \({J(\tau\prime, \nu\prime)}\) of respectively \({I(\tau, \nu)}\) and \({I(\tau\prime, \nu\prime)}\) lie in the same Vogan L-packet (whenever this Vogan L-packet is defined), proving that, for any Vogan L-packet, all the standard modules with Langlands quotient in a given Vogan L-packet are irreducible, if and only if this Vogan L-packet contains a generic representation. This result for generic Vogan L-packets was proven for quasi-split orthogonal and symplectic groups by Moeglin-Waldspurger and used in their proof of the general case of the local Gan-Gross-Prasad conjectures for these groups.  相似文献

We study the existence and the number of decaying solutions for the semilinear Schrödinger equations \({-\varepsilon^{2}\Delta u + V(x)u = g(x,u)}\), \({\varepsilon > 0}\) small, and \({-\Delta u + \lambda V(x)u = g(x,u)}\), \({\lambda > 0}\) large. The potential V may change sign and g is either asymptotically linear or superlinear (but subcritical) in u as \({|u| \to \infty}\) .  相似文献

We study the positive solution \({u(r,\rho)}\) of the quasilinear elliptic equation
$$\begin{cases}r^{-(\gamma-1)}(r^{\alpha}|u^{\prime}|^{\beta-1}u^{\prime})^{\prime}+|u|^{p-1}u=0, & 0 < r < \infty,\\ u(0) = \rho > 0,\ u^{\prime}(0)=0.\end{cases}$$
This class of differential operators includes the usual Laplace, m-Laplace, and k-Hessian operators in the space of radial functions. The equation has a singular positive solution u *(r) under certain conditions on \({\alpha}\), \({\beta}\), \({\gamma}\), and p. A generalized Joseph–Lundgren exponent, which we denote by \({p^*_{JL}}\), is obtained. We study the intersection numbers between \({u(r,\rho)}\) and u *(r) and between \({u(r,\rho_0)}\) and \({u(r,\rho_1)}\), and see that \({p^*_{JL}}\) plays an important role. We also determine the bifurcation diagram of the problem
$$\begin{cases}r^{-(\gamma-1)}(r^{\alpha}|u^{\prime}|^{\beta-1}u^{\prime})^{\prime} + \lambda(u+1)^p=0, & 0 < r < 1,\\ u(r) > 0, & 0 \le r < 1,\\ u^{\prime}(0)=0,\ u(1)=0.\end{cases}$$
The main technique used in the proofs is a phase plane analysis.

In this paper, we study the existence of positive solutions for the quasilinear elliptic singular problem
$$\left\{\begin{array}{ll}-\Delta u + c\,\frac{|\nabla u|^2}{u^\gamma} = \lambda\,f(u), \quad \quad \mbox{in $\Omega$},\\ u=0, \quad \qquad \qquad \qquad \quad \, \, \, \, \, \mbox{on $\partial$$\Omega$},\end{array}\right.$$
where \({c,\lambda >0}\), \({\gamma \in (0,1)}\), f is strictly increasing and derivable in \({[0,\infty)}\) with \({f(0)>0}\). We show that there exists \({\lambda^*>0}\) such that \({(0,\lambda^*]}\) is the maximal set of values such there exists solution. In addition, we prove that for \({\lambda<\lambda^*}\) there exists minimal and bounded solutions. Moreover, we give sufficient conditions for existence and regularity of solutions for \({\lambda=\lambda^*}\).

In this paper, we study the existence and multiplicity of homoclinic solutions for the following second-order p(t)-Laplacian–Hamiltonian systems
$$\frac{{\rm d}}{{\rm d}t}(|\dot{u}(t)|^{p(t)-2}\dot{u}(t))-a(t)|u(t)|^{p(t)-2}u(t)+\nabla W(t,u(t))=0,$$
where \({t \in \mathbb{R}}\), \({u \in \mathbb{R}^n}\), \({p \in C(\mathbb{R},\mathbb{R})}\) with p(t) > 1, \({a \in C(\mathbb{R},\mathbb{R})}\), \({W\in C^1(\mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{R}^n,\mathbb{R})}\) and \({\nabla W(t,u)}\) is the gradient of W(t, u) in u. The point is that, assuming that a(t) is bounded in the sense that there are constants \({0<\tau_1<\tau_2<\infty}\) such that \({\tau_1\leq a(t)\leq \tau_2 }\) for all \({t \in \mathbb{R}}\) and W(t, u) is of super-p(t) growth or sub-p(t) growth as \({|u|\rightarrow \infty}\), we provide two new criteria to ensure the existence and multiplicity of homoclinic solutions, respectively. Recent results in the literature are extended and significantly improved.

Let \({\mathcal{B}^\omega(p, q, B_d)}\) denote the \({\omega}\)-weighted Hardy–Bloch space on the unit ball B d of \({\mathbb{C}^d}\), \({d\ge 1}\). For \({2< p,q < \infty}\) and \({f\in \mathcal{B}^\omega(p, q, B_d)}\), we obtain sharp estimates on the growth of the p-integral means M p (f, r) as \({r\to 1-}\).  相似文献

Let \({\Omega}\) be a Lipschitz bounded domain of \({\mathbb{R}^N}\), \({N\geq2}\), and let \({u_p\in W_0^{1,p}(\Omega)}\) denote the p-torsion function of \({\Omega}\), p > 1. It is observed that the value 1 for the Cheeger constant \({h(\Omega)}\) is threshold with respect to the asymptotic behavior of up, as \({p\rightarrow 1^+}\), in the following sense: when \({h(\Omega) > 1}\), one has \({\lim_{p\rightarrow 1^+}\left\|u_{p}\right\| _{L^\infty(\Omega)}=0}\), and when \({h(\Omega) < 1}\), one has \({\lim_{p\rightarrow 1^+}\left\|u_p\right\| _{L^\infty(\Omega)}=\infty}\). In the case \({h(\Omega)=1}\), it is proved that \({\limsup_{p\rightarrow1^+}\left\|u_p\right\|_{L^\infty(\Omega)}<\infty}\). For a radial annulus \({\Omega_{a,b}}\), with inner radius a and outer radius b, it is proved that \({\lim_{p\rightarrow 1^+}\left\|u_p\right\| _{L^\infty(\Omega_{a,b})}=0}\) when \({h(\Omega_{a,b})=1}\).  相似文献

Let \({\mathbb{K}}\) be a field and \({S=\mathbb{K}[x_1,\dots,x_n]}\) be the polynomial ring in n variables over \({\mathbb{K}}\). Let G be a graph with n vertices. Assume that \({I=I(G)}\) is the edge ideal of G and \({J=J(G)}\) is its cover ideal. We prove that \({{\rm sdepth}(J)\geq n-\nu_{o}(G)}\) and \({{\rm sdepth}(S/J)\geq n-\nu_{o}(G)-1}\), where \({\nu_{o}(G)}\) is the ordered matching number of G. We also prove the inequalities \({{\rmsdepth}(J^k)\geq {\rm depth}(J^k)}\) and \({{\rm sdepth}(S/J^k)\geq {\rmdepth}(S/J^k)}\), for every integer \({k\gg 0}\), when G is a bipartite graph. Moreover, we provide an elementary proof for the known inequality reg\({(S/I)\leq \nu_{o}(G)}\).  相似文献

We study the solution \({u(r,\rho)}\) of the quasilinear elliptic problem
$$\begin{cases}r^{-(\gamma-1)}(r^{\alpha}|u'|^{\beta-1}u')'+|u|^{p-1}u=0, & 0 < r < \infty, \\u(0)=\rho > 0,\ u'(0)=0.\end{cases}$$
The usual Laplace, \({m}\)-Laplace, and \({k}\)-Hessian operators are included in the differential operator \({r^{-(\gamma-1)}(r^{\alpha}|u'|^{\beta-1}u')'}\). Under certain conditions on \({\alpha}\), \({\beta}\), \({\gamma}\), and \({p}\), the equation has a singular positive solution \({u^*(r)}\) and the solution \({u(r,\rho)}\) is positive for \({r\ge 0}\). We study the intersection numbers between \({u(r,\rho)}\) and \({u^*(r)}\) and between \({u(r,\rho_0)}\) and \({u(r,\rho_1)}\). A generalized Joseph–Lundgren exponent \({p^*_{JL}}\) plays a crucial role. The main technique is a phase plane analysis. In particular, we use two changes of variables which transform the equation into two autonomous systems.

Let (M, g 0) be a compact Riemann surface with boundary and with negative Euler characteristic. Let f(x) be a strictly negative smooth function on \({\bar{M}}\) and denote by \({\sigma(x)}\) the value of f in the interior and \({\zeta(x)}\) the value of f on the boundary. By studying the evolution of curvatures on M, we prove that there exist a constant \({\lambda_\infty}\) and a conformal metric \({g_\infty}\) such that \({\lambda_\infty\sigma(x)}\) and \({\lambda_\infty\zeta(x)}\) can be realized as the Gaussian curvature and boundary geodesic curvature of \({g_\infty}\) respectively.  相似文献

For each \({\alpha\in[0,2)}\) we consider the eigenvalue problem \({-{\rm div}(|x|^\alpha \nabla u)=\lambda u}\) in a bounded domain \({\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^N}\) (\({N\geq 2}\)) with smooth boundary and \({0\in \Omega}\) subject to the homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition. Denote by \({\lambda_1(\alpha)}\) the first eigenvalue of this problem. Using \({\Gamma}\)-convergence arguments we prove the continuity of the function \({\lambda_1}\) with respect to \({\alpha}\) on the interval \({[0,2)}\).  相似文献

Given an i.i.d sample (Y i , Z i ), taking values in \({\mathbb{R}^{d'}\times\mathbb{R}^d}\), we consider a collection Nadarya–Watson kernel estimators of the conditional expectations \({\mathbb{E}( <\,c_g(z),g(Y)>+d_g(z)\mid Z=z)}\), where z belongs to a compact set \({H\subset \mathbb{R}^d}\), g a Borel function on \({\mathbb{R}^{d'}}\) and c g (·), d g (·) are continuous functions on \({\mathbb{R}^d}\). Given two bandwidth sequences \({h_n<\mathfrak{h}_n}\) fulfilling mild conditions, we obtain an exact and explicit almost sure limit bounds for the deviations of these estimators around their expectations, uniformly in \({g\in\mathcal{G},\;z\in H}\) and \({h_n\le h\le \mathfrak{h}_n}\) under mild conditions on the density f Z , the class \({\mathcal{G}}\), the kernel K and the functions c g (·), d g (·). We apply this result to prove that smoothed empirical likelihood can be used to build confidence intervals for conditional probabilities \({\mathbb{P}( Y\in C\mid Z=z)}\), that hold uniformly in \({z\in H,\; C\in \mathcal{C},\; h\in [h_n,\mathfrak{h}_n]}\). Here \({\mathcal{C}}\) is a Vapnik–Chervonenkis class of sets.  相似文献

We prove global well-posedness and scattering in H 1 for the defocusing nonlinear Schrödinger equations
$\left\{\begin{array}{ll}(i\partial_t+\Delta_g)u=u|u|^{2\sigma};\\u(0)=\phi,\end{array}\right.$
on the hyperbolic spaces \({\mathbb{H}^d}\), d ≥ 2, for exponents \({\sigma \in (0, 2/(d-2))}\). The main unexpected conclusion is scattering to linear solutions in the case of small exponents σ; for comparison, on Euclidean spaces scattering in H 1 is not known for any exponent \({\sigma \in (1/d, 2/d]}\) and is known to fail for \({\sigma \in (0, 1/d]}\). Our main ingredients are certain noneuclidean global in time Strichartz estimates and noneuclidean Morawetz inequalities.

Let \({\Delta = BAG(2, q)}\) denote the classical biaffine plane of order q, that is, the symmetric \({((q^2 - 1)_q)}\) configuration obtained from the classical affine plane \({\Sigma = AG(2, q)}\) of order q by omitting a point of \({\Sigma}\) together with all lines through this point. Now let \({q \geq 4}\) be a power of a prime p and assume that \({\Delta}\) admits an embedding into the projective plane \({\Pi = PG(2, F)}\), where F is a (not necessarily commutative) field. Then this embedding extends to a projective subplane \({\Pi_0 \cong PG(2, q)}\) of \({\Pi}\); in particular, F has characteristic p. Consequently, \({BAG(2, q)}\) with \({q\geq 4}\) admits an embedding into \({PG(2, q')}\) if only if q′ is a power of q. This strengthens a result of Rigby (Canad J Math 17:977–1009, 1965) in a special case while simultaneously providing a more elegant proof.  相似文献

We call the \({\delta}\)-vector of an integral convex polytope of dimension d flat if the \({\delta}\)-vector is of the form \({(1,0,\ldots,0,a,\ldots,a,0,\ldots,0)}\), where \({a \geq 1}\). In this paper, we give the complete characterization of possible flat \({\delta}\)-vectors. Moreover, for an integral convex polytope \({\mathcal{P}\subset \mathbb{R}^N}\) of dimension d, we let \({i(\mathcal{P},n)=|n\mathcal{P}\cap \mathbb{Z}^N|}\) and \({i^*(\mathcal{P},n)=|n(\mathcal{P} {\setminus}\partial \mathcal{P})\cap \mathbb{Z}^N|}\). By this characterization, we show that for any \({d \geq 1}\) and for any \({k,\ell \geq 0}\) with \({k+\ell \leq d-1}\), there exist integral convex polytopes \({\mathcal{P}}\) and \({\mathcal{Q}}\) of dimension d such that (i) For \({t=1,\ldots,k}\), we have \({i(\mathcal{P},t)=i(\mathcal{Q},t),}\) (ii) For \({t=1,\ldots,\ell}\), we have \({i^*(\mathcal{P},t)=i^*(\mathcal{Q},t)}\), and (iii) \({i(\mathcal{P},k+1) \neq i(\mathcal{Q},k+1)}\) and \({i^*(\mathcal{P},\ell+1)\neq i^*(\mathcal{Q},\ell+1)}\).  相似文献

In this paper we consider the Schrödinger operator ?Δ + V on \({\mathbb R^d}\), where the nonnegative potential V belongs to the reverse Hölder class \({B_{q_{_1}}}\) for some \({q_{_1}\geq \frac{d}{2}}\) with d ≥ 3. Let \({H^1_L(\mathbb R^d)}\) denote the Hardy space related to the Schrödinger operator L = ?Δ + V and \({BMO_L(\mathbb R^d)}\) be the dual space of \({H^1_L(\mathbb R^d)}\). We show that the Schrödinger type operator \({\nabla(-\Delta +V)^{-\beta}}\) is bounded from \({H^1_L(\mathbb R^d)}\) into \({L^p(\mathbb R^d)}\) for \({p=\frac{d}{d-(2\beta-1)}}\) with \({ \frac{1}{2}<\beta<\frac{3}{2} }\) and that it is also bounded from \({L^p(\mathbb R^d)}\) into \({BMO_L(\mathbb R^d)}\) for \({p=\frac{d}{2\beta-1}}\) with \({ \frac{1}{2}<\beta< 2}\).  相似文献

This work deals with the solvability near the characteristic set Σ = {0} × S 1 of operators of the form \({L=\partial/\partial t + (x^na(x) + ix^mb(x))\partial/\partial x}\), \({b\not\equiv0}\) and a(0) ≠ 0, defined on \({\Omega_\epsilon=(-\epsilon,\epsilon)\times S^1}\), \({\epsilon >0 }\), where a and b are real-valued smooth functions in \({(-\epsilon,\epsilon)}\) and m ≥ 2n. It is shown that given f belonging to a subspace of finite codimension of \({C^\infty(\Omega_\epsilon)}\) there is a solution \({u\in L^\infty}\) of the equation Lu = f in a neighborhood of Σ; moreover, the L regularity is sharp.  相似文献

We consider a diffusion \({(\xi_t)_{t\geq 0}}\) with some T-periodic time dependent input term contained in the drift: under an unknown parameter \({\vartheta\in\varTheta}\) , some discontinuity—an additional periodic signal—occurs at times \({kT\,{+}\,\vartheta}\) , \({k \in I\!\!N}\) . Assuming positive Harris recurrence of \({(\xi_{kT})_{k \in I\!\!N _0}}\) and exploiting the periodicity structure, we prove limit theorems for certain martingales and functionals of the process \({(\xi_t)_{t\ge 0}}\) . They allow to consider the statistical model parametrized by \({\vartheta\in\varTheta}\) locally in small neighbourhoods of some fixed \({\vartheta}\), with radius \({\frac{1}{n}}\) as n → ∞. We prove convergence of local models to a limit experiment studied by Ibragimov and Khasminskii (Statistical estimation, 1981) and discuss the behaviour of estimators under contiguous alternatives.  相似文献

For a Tychonoff space X, we denote by C p (X) the space of all real-valued continuous functions on X with the topology of pointwise convergence.
In this paper we prove that:
  • If every finite power of X is Lindelöf then C p (X) is strongly sequentially separable iff X is \({\gamma}\)-set.
  • \({B_{\alpha}(X)}\) (= functions of Baire class \({\alpha}\) (\({1 < \alpha \leq \omega_1}\)) on a Tychonoff space X with the pointwise topology) is sequentially separable iff there exists a Baire isomorphism class \({\alpha}\) from a space X onto a \({\sigma}\)-set.
  • \({B_{\alpha}(X)}\) is strongly sequentially separable iff \({iw(X)=\aleph_0}\) and X is a \({Z^{\alpha}}\)-cover \({\gamma}\)-set for \({0 < \alpha \leq \omega_1}\).
  • There is a consistent example of a set of reals X such that C p (X) is strongly sequentially separable but B1(X) is not strongly sequentially separable.
  • B(X) is sequentially separable but is not strongly sequentially separable for a \({\mathfrak{b}}\)-Sierpiński set X.

In Cuntz et al. (Math Ann 355(4):1383–1423, 2013. doi:10.1007/s00208-012-0826-9), studied the \({C^*}\)-algebra \({\mathfrak {T}[R]}\) generated by the left-regular representation of the \({ax + b}\)-semigroup of a number ring R on \({\ell^2(R \rtimes R^\times)}\). They were able to describe it as a universal \({C^*}\)-algebra defined by generators and relations, and show that it has an interesting KMS-structure and that it is functorial for injective ring homomorphisms. In this paper we show that \({\mathfrak {T}[R]}\) can be realized as the \({C^*}\)-envelope of the isometric semicrossed product of a certain semigroup dynamical system \({(\mathcal {A}_R, \alpha, R^\times)}\). We do this by proving that a representation of \({\mathcal {A}_R \times_\alpha^{\rm is}R^\times}\) is maximal if it is also a representation of \({\mathfrak {T}[R]}\). We also show how to explicitly dilate any representation of \({\mathcal {A}_R \times_\alpha^{\rm is}R^\times}\) to a representation of \({\mathfrak {T}[R]}\).  相似文献
