This paper presents a nonlinear free vibration analysis of corrugated circular plates with shallow sinusoidal corrugations under uniformly static ambient temperature. Based on the nonlinear bending theory of thin shallow shells, the governing equations for corrugated plates are established from Hamilton’s principle. These partial differential equations are reduced to corresponding ordinary ones by elimination of the time variable with Kantorovich method following an assumed harmonic time mode. The resulting equations, which form a nonlinear two-point boundary value problem in spatial variable, are then solved numerically by shooting method, and the temperature-dependent characteristic relations of frequency vs. amplitude for nonlinear vibration of heated corrugated plates are obtained successfully. The comparison with available published results shows that the numerical analysis here is of good reliability. A detailed parametric study is conducted involving the dependency of nonlinear frequency on the depth and density of corrugations along with the temperature change. Effects of these variables on the trend of nonlinearity are plotted and discussed.  相似文献

Fixed point continuation methods and shooting methods are combined to produce an effective numerical procedure for solving boundary value problems for nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Typical numerical solution schemes involve an iteration procedure. Continuation methods systematically generate good initial guesses and, when combined with a shooting method and an appropriate update procedure, give systematic means for the numerical solution of nonlinear boundary value problems. This paper concentrates on problems of Bernstein type, which arise naturally in the calculus of variations and in steady-state heat conduction.  相似文献

In this paper, an effective discrimination algorithm is presented to deal with equations arising from physical problems. The aim of the algorithm is to discriminate and derive the single traveling wave solutions of a large class of nonlinear evolution equations. Many examples are given to illustrate the algorithm. At the same time, some factorization technique are presented to construct the traveling wave solutions of nonlinear evolution equations, such as Camassa-Holm equation, Kolmogorov-Petrovskii-Piskunov equation, and so on. Then a direct constructive method called multi-auxiliary equations expansion method is described to derive the multi-solitary wave solutions of nonlinear evolution equations. Finally, a class of novel multi-solitary wave solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional asymmetric version of the Nizhnik-Novikov-Veselov equation are given by three direct methods. The algorithm proposed in this paper can be steadily applied to some other nonlinear problems.  相似文献

This paper focuses on solving the two point boundary value problem, in which boundary conditions are systems of nonlinear equations. The shooting method was used together with a combination of Newton’s method and Broyden’s method, to update the initial values of the differential equations. The experiments showed that the proposed method performed well, in the sense that the overall amount of work was less than that of the Newton Shooting method.  相似文献

In this paper, based on a multidimensional Riemann theta function, a lucid and straightforward generalization of the Hirota-Riemann method is presented to explicitly construct multiperiodic Riemann theta functions periodic wave solutions for nonlinear equations such as the Caudrey-Dodd-Gibbon-Sawada-Kotera equation and (2+1)-dimensional breaking soliton equation. Among these periodic waves, the one-periodic waves are well-known cnoidal waves, their surface pattern is one-dimensional, and often they are used as one-dimensional models of periodic waves. The two-periodic waves are a direct generalization of one-periodic waves, their surface pattern is two-dimensional so that they have two independent spatial periods in two independent horizontal directions. A limiting procedure is presented to analyze in detail, asymptotic behavior of the multiperiodic waves and the relations between the periodic wave solutions and soliton solutions are rigorously established. This generalized Hirota-Riemann method can also be demonstrated on a class variety of nonlinear difference equations such as Toeplitz lattice equation.  相似文献

We consider nonlinear scalar equations with causal mappings. These equations include differential, differential-delay, integral, integro-differential, difference and other traditional equations. Conditions that provide the existence of positive solutions are established. The suggested approach enables us to consider various classes of equations from the unified point of view. This article presents an algorithm for accommodating missing data in situations where a natural set of estimating equations exists for the complete data setting. The complete data estimating equations can correspond to the score functions from a standard, partial, or quasi-likelihood, or they can be generalized estimating equations (GEEs). In analogy to the EM, which is a special case, the method is called the ES algorithm, because it iterates between an E-Step wherein functions of the complete data are replaced by their expected values, and an S-Step where these expected values are substituted into the complete-data estimating equation, which is then solved. Convergence properties of the algorithm are established by appealing to general theory for iterative solutions to nonlinear equations. In particular, the ES algorithm (and indeed the EM) are shown to correspond to examples of nonlinear Gauss-Seidel algorithms. An added advantage of the approach is that it yields a computationally simple method for estimating the variance of the resulting parameter estimates.  相似文献

In this paper, a new trust region algorithm for nonlinear equality constrained LC^1 optimization problems is given. It obtains a search direction at each iteration not by solving a quadratic programming subproblem with a trust region bound, but by solving a system of linear equations. Since the computational complexity of a QP-Problem is in general much larger than that of a system of linear equations, this method proposed in this paper may reduce the computational complexity and hence improve computational efficiency. Furthermore, it is proved under appropriate assumptions that this algorithm is globally and super-linearly convergent to a solution of the original problem. Some numerical examples are reported, showing the proposed algorithm can be beneficial from a computational point of view.  相似文献

In this paper, constraint aggregation is combined with the adjoint and multiple shooting strategies for optimal control of differential algebraic equations (DAE) systems. The approach retains the inherent parallelism of the conventional multiple shooting method, while also being much more efficient for large scale problems. Constraint aggregation is employed to reduce the number of nonlinear continuity constraints in each multiple shooting interval, and its derivatives are computed by the adjoint DAE solver DASPKADJOINT together with ADIFOR and TAMC, the automatic differentiation software for forward and reverse mode, respectively. Numerical experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach.  相似文献

In this paper, a parametric variant of Steffensen-secant method and three fast variants of Steffensen-secant method for solving nonlinear equations are suggested. They achieve cubic convergence or super cubic convergence for finding simple roots by only using three evaluations of the function per step. Their error equations and asymptotic convergence constants are deduced. Modified Steffensen’s method and modified parametric variant of Steffensen-secant method for finding multiple roots are also discussed. In the numerical examples, the suggested methods are supported by the solution of nonlinear equations and systems of nonlinear equations, and the application in the multiple shooting method.  相似文献

The paper discusses the solution of boundary-value problems for ordinary differential equations by Warner's algorithm. This shooting algorithm requires that only the original system of differential equations is solved once in each iteration, while the initial conditions for a new iteration are evaluated from a matrix equation. Numerical analysis performed shows that the algorithm converges even for very bad starting values of the unknown initial conditions and that the number of iterations is small and weakly dependent on the starting point. Based on this algorithm, a general subroutine can be realized for the solution of a large class of boundary-value problems.  相似文献

An optimal control problem with four linear controls describing a sophisticated concern model is investigated. The numerical solution of this problem by combination of a direct collocation and an indirect multiple shooting method is presented and discussed. The approximation provided by the direct method is used to estimate the switching structure caused by the four controls occurring linearly. The optimal controls have bang-bang subarcs as well as constrained and singular subarcs. The derivation of necessary conditions from optimal control theory is aimed at the subsequent application of an indirect multiple shooting method but is also interesting from a mathematical point of view. Due to the linear occurrence of the controls, the minimum principle leads to a linear programming problem. Therefore, the Karush–Kuhn–Tucker conditions can be used for an optimality check of the solution obtained by the indirect method.  相似文献

This paper presents a new trust region algorithm for solving nonsmooth nonlinear equation problems which posses the smooth plus non-smooth decomposition. At each iteration, this method obtains a trial step by solving a system of linear equations, hence avoiding the need for solving a quadratic programming subproblem with a trust region bound. From a computational point of view, this approach may reduce computational effort and hence improve computational efficiency. The method presented here is an extension of the multiple shooting algorithm in order to handle multipoint boundary-value problems and problems of optimal control in the special situation of singular controls or constraints on the state variables. This generalization allows a direct treatment of (nonlinear) conditions at switching points. As an example a model of optimal heating and cooling by solar energy is considered. The model is given in the form of an optimal control problem with three control functions appearing linearly and a first order constraint on the state variables.
