The aerial parts of wild and cultivated Mentha mozaffarianii Jamzad were collected at full flowering stage from two provinces (Hormozgan and Fars) of Iran. The essential oils were extracted by a Clevenger approach and analysed using GC and GC–MS. The main components in wild plants were piperitenone (33.85%), piperitone (21.18%), linalool (6.89%), pulegone (5.93%), 1, 8.cineole (5.49%), piperitenone oxide (5.17%) and menthone (4.69%) and in cultivated plants, cis-piperitone epoxide (28.89%), linalool (15.36%), piperitone (11.57%), piperitenone oxide (10.14%), piperitenone (8.42%),1,8-cineole (3.60%) were the main constituents in essential oil. The in vitro antimicrobial activity of the essential oil of M. mozaffarianii was studied against Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans. The results of the bioassays showed that the oil exhibited high antimicrobial activity against all the tested pathogens.  相似文献

Summary The essential oils of various species of larch have been separated by gas-liquid chromatography under conditions of linear temperature programming.Of the 45 compounds present in each of the essential oils, 32 components have been identified, 16 of which have not previously been found in larch essential oil.The chemical compositions of the oxygen-containing and sesquiterpene hydrocarbons of four species and one variety of larch have been studied. It has been shown that there is no quantitative difference between the compositions of the individual species of larch and only their quantitative compositions differ.Voronezh Institute of Wood Technology. The chemical composition of the essential oils obtained by hydrodistillation from the aerial parts of Mentha cervina collected during the flowering and vegetative phases of the plants were investigated by GC and GC-MS. Quantitative differences were observed in the compositions, particularly in the amounts of pulegone (12.9-79.6%) and isomenthone (8.7-77.0%). Antifungal activity of the oils was evaluated by minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC) and minimal lethal concentrations (MLC) against Candida, Apergillus and dermatophyte strains. Antifungal activity of the sample containing lower amounts of pulegone was the highest for dermatophytes, particularly for Epidermophyton floccosum with MIC and MLC values of 0.63 microL mL( - 1). Mentha cervina oils with low content of pulegone, may be an alternative as antifungal agents in dermatophytosis.  相似文献

The dependence of Mentha pulegium L. (pennyroyal) essential oil composition, obtained by supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2), with the following parameters: pressure, temperature, extraction time (dynamic), and modifier (methanol) was studied. The results were also compared with those obtained by conventional hydrodistillation method in laboratory conditions. Regarding the percentages of menthone (30.3%) and pulegone (52.0%), the optimum SFE results were obtained at the following experimental conditions: pressure=100 atm, T=35 °C, dynamic time=10 min, and Vmodifier=0 μl. The results of hydrodistillation showed that the major components of M. pulegium L. were pulegone (37.8%), menthone (20.3%), and piperitenone (6.8%). The evaluation of the composition of each extract was performed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.  相似文献

The composition of the essential oil (EO) ofThymus dimorphus Klok. et Shost. has been studied with the aid of chromato-mass spectroscopy for the first time, and 80 components of this oil have been identified. The EO of this thyme is represented mainly by terpenes and their alcohols and by sesquiterpenes and their alcohols. The total proportions of terpene and sesquiterpene derivatives are approximately the same. It has ben shown that with such a composition of the EO the widely employed polar columns of Carbowax 20M are not very effective.Zaporozhe State Medical University, Ministry of Health of the Ukraine. The results are given of the gas-chromatographic analysis in a nonpolar capillary column, after preliminary separation by means of adsorption chromatography on alumina, of samples of the essential oils of three populations of the endemic speciesArtemisia glabella Kar. et Kir. (Asteraceae) of Kazakhstan. The complex component composition of the samples of essential oils was practically independent of the conditions of the growth site. The results obtained witness a chemosystematic difference betweenA. glabella andA. obtusiloba.Institute of Phytochemistry, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Karaganda, fax (3212) 433144, e-mail: arglabin@phyto.karaganda.su. The essential oil (EO) of M. aquatica L. growing wild in Corsica was isolated by dry vapor distillation and submitted to combined analysis by column chromatography over silica gel, GC(RI), GC-MS and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The composition was dominated byoxygenated monoterpenes and characterized by the occurrence of menthofuran (50.7%) as the major component. In parallel, seven laboratory-distilled oil samples isolated from individual plants collected in Corsica were analyzed by GC(RI) and 13C NMR spectroscopy. Onlyquantitative differences were observed between the samples. Beside the usual terpenes, various p-menthane lactones (mintlactone, isomintlactone, hydroxymintlactone, menthofurolactone and epimenthofurolactone) have been identified in all the oil samples.  相似文献

The essential oil of an endemic (Kazakhstan) species ofArtemisia filatovae, A. kurpijanov sp. nov. (Filatov wormwood), is analyzed by gas chromatography on a capillary column with preliminary separation into fractions using adsorption chromatography on aluminum oxide. The essential oils obtained by hydro distillation of the aerial parts of Pituranthos scoparius were collected from different regions of Algeria and gave various yields ranging from 0.6 up to 2.8% (v/w). These samples were analyzed by GC and GC-MS showing the occurrence of monoterpene hydrocarbons and some oxygenated compounds. The major components were alpha-pinene (4.4-35.8%), limonene (0.8-66.5%), bornyl acetate (tr-9.6%), myristicin (tr-31.1) and dill apiole (0.4-47.3%). The aerial parts of P. scoparius could be either very rich or very poor in limonene, myristicin or dill apiole. Cluster analysis shows differences in essential oil compositions of samples coming from the different area collected.  相似文献
