In this paper, we report on measurements of the specific heatC of single-crystalline Eu x Sr1–x Te at temperatures between 60 mK and 15 K and in magnetic fields up to 6 T. Pure antiferromagnetic EuTe shows unusual critical behavior in the vicinity of the Néel temperatureT N=9.8 K with a positive critical exponent instead of the 3d-Heisenberg exponent =–0.12. Possible reasons for this discrepancy between theory and experiment include magnetic anisotropy effects due to magnetic dipole-dipole interactions, which may give rise to a cross-over of the critical behavior very close toT N. This anisotropy is also seen in the specific heat below 1 K where an exponential decay ofC is observed, and in the dependence of the magnetic susceptibility on the direction of the applied field. With increasing dilution of EuTe with nonmagnetic Sr, the critical behavior changes: becomes negative and decreases continuously towards –1 atxx c. This concentration dependence of was previously observed in the diluted ferromagnetic system Eu x Sr1–x S. Our data thus support that the apparent change in the critical behavior depends on the degree of disorder. Samples with concentrationx lower than the critical concentrationx c reveal spin-glass behavior in the specific heat. In addition, the dependence ofT N on magnetic fields is discussed. The data yield a normalized magnetic phase boundaryB c(T)/Bc(T=0) vs.T N(B)/TN(B=0) which is independent of concentration.  相似文献

We present transverse fieldSR and bulk magnetisation studies on powders of Bi2Sr2(Ca1{itxGd x )Cu2O y for 0x<0.5. We have found that the effective pinning decreases rapidly withx even for values ofx for whichT c remains unchanged. We have interpreted this decrease in terms of changes in ab (obtained fromSR) which cause a decrease in vortex-vortex interactions. The field distribution spectra in these superconductors have been obtained using a maximum entropy analysis and are found to agree with the calculations by Harshmanet al.  相似文献

The results of the investigation of the quadratic electro-optic effect in Sr1–x Ca x TiO3 with x = 0.014 (SCT) and in nominally pure SrTiO3 (STO) at room temperature in applied direct-current (dc) and alternating-current (ac) electric fields have been presented. It has been shown that the quadratic (in polarization) electro-optic coefficients of STO and SCT crystals coincide within the accuracy of the determination (±5%). It has been found that, in nominally pure STO measured in a dc electric field, there is a relaxation of the electro-optic effect with a relaxation time τ ≈ 30 s due to the formation of a space charge in the sample. No similar effect in SCT has been observed. A possible mechanism for the formation of a space charge in STO and SCT has been discussed.  相似文献

Neutron (Bragg and small angle) scattering and susceptibility measurements are used to study magnetic ordering in Eu x Sr1–x S with ferromagnetic nearest neighbor exchangeJ 1 and antiferromagnetic next-nearest neighbor exchangeJ 2. We present data for 0.50x0.70 which cannot be analyzed within the merely geometrical treatments of percolation theory. Breakdown of ferromagnetism occurs atx c =0.51, far above the percolation thresholdx p =0.136, and a spin-glass phase is observed in the intermediate concentration regime. Close tox c , the ferromagnetic state is also displaced by the spinglass phase at lower temperatures. Both properties are a general characteristic of diluted systems with competing interactions. An effective decoupling of finite magnetic clusters from the ferromagnetic net arises from frustration, which enhances the ground-state entropy. Anomalous properties below the Curie temperatureT c as well as atT c support this microscopic picture.  相似文献

Micro-Raman measurements under hydrostatic pressures up to 6 GPa have been carried out on high-quality La 2 m x Sr x CuO 4 polycrystalline compounds with Sr concentration up to x =0.45. The zz scattering polarization has been investigated, where two strong modes due to La/Sr and the apex oxygen, and (in the low Sr concentrations) the soft mode at ~100 cm m 1 are observed. The frequency of the strong modes increases almost linearly with pressure for the Sr concentrations studied. Modifications in the increment rate d y /d p and the phonon width have been detected depending on the amount of doping. For x =0.45 a considerable increase in the width of both strong phonons with pressure was found, which must reflect a separation into phases, since this concentration is close to the solubility limit. The relative intensity of the strong phonons was investigated in connection with its correlation to the transition temperature.  相似文献

The samples belonging to La1−x Sr x MnO3 series, prepared by combustion route without using fuel, exhibit crystal structural phase transition with the change in Sr content. Less than 40 mol% Sr is partially substituted in the crystal structure of LaMnO3. The structural phase transition from rhombohedral to cubic, cubic to tetragonal, and tetragonal to orthorhombic takes place on 40, 60, and 80 mol% addition of Sr. The highest electrical conductivity in La0.4Sr0.6MnO3 is understood to be due to the maximum concentration of polaron. The polarons are formed due to the conversion of Mn3+ to Mn4+ so as to achieve electroneutrality after substitution of Sr2+ for La3+.  相似文献

La2 − x Sr x NiO4 +  δ materials were investigated as cathodes for the electrochemical reduction of oxygen on a Ce1.9Gd0.1O1.95 (CGO10) electrolyte using cone-shaped electrodes together with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The area-specific resistance (ASR) of the La2 − x Sr x NiO4 +  δ nickelates towards the reduction of oxygen is equal to the ASR of perovskites; however, it is not as low as for the best Fe–Co-based perovskites. The lowest ASR is found for the compound La1.75Sr0.25NiO4 +  δ with an ASR of 23.8 Ωcm2 measured on a cone-shaped electrode in air at 600 °C. It is suggested that difference in oxide ionic conductivity of the nickelates is the main cause for the different activity of the nickelates towards the electrochemical reduction of oxygen.  相似文献

An unambiguous determination of the + location in the highT c LaSrCuO superconductor is made through zero-field spin relaxation in the paramagnetic phase and its crystal axis dependence by using single crystalline samples. The temperature dependence of the relaxation rates has a maximum between 80 and 150 K, indicating the existence of the onset of quantum diffusion at low temperature.  相似文献

The structural and electrophysical characteristics of a series of solid solutions of layered perovs-kite-like oxides Bi6 ? x Sr x Ti2 ? x Nb2 + x O18 (x = 0, 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0) have been studied. The temperature dependences of the relative permittivity ?/?0(T) and dielectric loss tangent tanδ have been measured. The dependences of the maximum of the permittivity ?/?0, Curie temperature T C, lattice parameters, and the unit cell volume on x have been obtained. The structural parameter a, which corresponds to the polar direction, and the value of the orthorhombic distortion of the unit cell have been found to demonstrate noticeable negative deviations from the Vegard’s law. It has been established that the variations of the orthorhombic distortion correlate with the variations of the permittivity maximum; however, they do not markedly influence the Curie temperature that varies linearly over entire range of changes in x.  相似文献

In this work we report the results of X-ray diffraction and Mössbauer spectroscopy for the systems Pr0.5Sr0.5Mn1???x Fe x O3 (with x?=?0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, 0.25, 0.30). XRD patterns indicated that all samples were single phase with slightly distorted orthorhombic symmetry. Room temperature Mössbauer spectra are all quadrupole split, indicating paramagnetic relaxation of the Fe moment for all values of Fe concentrations. The spectra are fitted with two doublet components associated with Fe3?+? ions in octahedral sites with different distortions. Mössbauer spectra recorded at liquid nitrogen temperature for this system also indicate paramagnetic relaxation of the Fe moments down to liquid nitrogen temperature (LNT). In these spectra a third quadrupole component with quadrupole splitting close to zero develops. This component is associated with the delocalization of the charge carriers and the consequent disappearance of lattice distortions produced by the polaronic effect at room temperature. The component with the high quadrupole splitting (0.81 to 1.07 mm/s) results from Jahn–Teller distortion as a consequence of charge ordering transition at low temperature.  相似文献

For the spin-fermion model, it has been shown that the concept of spin polarons makes it possible to reproduce fine details of the Fermi surface evolution in the nodal direction of La2 ? x Sr x CuO4 occurring with changes in the doping level x. The physics here is determined by the spin-correlated hopping of charge carriers and by the doping dependence of the inverse magnetic correlation length.  相似文献

The electrophysical properties of bulk ceramics based on Ba x Sr1 ? x TiO3 solid solutions with a Mg-containing additive and planar variconds based on ferroelectric films obtained by the ion-plasma sputtering of targets with different elemental compositions are studied. Controllability n(U) = C(0)/C(U) and the dielectric loss tangent (tan??) of ferroelectric variconds are measured as functions of the elemental composition of the ferroelectric. The figure of merit of the variconds is estimated, and the film composition providing the best electrophysical parameters is determined.  相似文献

Novel high-T c superconductors La2–x Bi x Sr x–x CuO4–y have been isolated and studied. The influence of the experimental conditions of synthesis on the superconductivity has been especially studied for the composition La1.7Bi0.1Sr0.2CuO4–y ; it is shown thatT c decreases as oxygen is introduced into the matrix, likely due to the partial oxidation of Bi(III) to Bi(V). The highT c value observed for one sample (T c 42 K), as compared withT c 38 K of La1.8Sr0.2CuO4–y suggests that bismuth is also a potential candidate for improving the superconducting properties in these oxides.  相似文献

Samples of Y1–x Ca x Sr2GaCu2O7– (x=0, 0.4) doped with57Fe, prepared under various oxygen pressures, have been studied by magnetometry and Mössbauer spectroscopy. Most of the iron ions (Fe3+) enter the Ga(Cu(1)) site. For thex=0 sample, the Mössbauer spectra of the iron nuclei in the Cu(2) sublattice display magnetic order of Cu,T N=370 K. The iron ions in the Ga site display magnetic order only at low temperatures. At temperatures above 90 K, these iron ions display a pure quadrupole doublet Mössbauer spectrum. The samplex=0.4 also displays magnetic order of the Cu(2) site,T N370 K. A sharp drop in the hyperfine field is observed atT N, probably associated with a first-order phase transition or two-dimensional ordering. The iron nuclei in the Ga site display paramagnetic long spin relaxation time phenomena at 4.2 K. Thex=0.4 sample prepared under 110 atm oxygen pressure, displays superconductivity,T c50 K. The Mössbauer spectra give evidence of the presence of two phases. One displays magnetic order, the other is paramagnetic, the last is probably associated with the superconducting phase.  相似文献

La1? x Sr x MnO3 perovskite manganite materials with different compositions (x?=?0.28, 0.31 and 0.36) have been prepared employing solid-state reaction technique. On-line evaluation of ultrasonic velocities and longitudinal attenuation of the above samples has been done over a wide range of temperatures using the transmission method. The observed anomalies in velocities, attenuation and elastic moduli reveal the occurrence of lattice softening and hardening near Curie temperature. The observed dramatic hardening in sound velocities and softening in attenuation are correlated with the phase transition, i.e. ferromagnetic to paramagnetic. The increase in magnitude of maximum velocity with change in Sr content at T c indicates the existence of linear magnetostriction effect. The elastic moduli study elucidates the observations made from the above-mentioned studies. The variation in the ultrasonic velocities, longitudinal attenuation and its derived parameters help us to understand the competitions between ferromagnetism and paramagnetism.  相似文献

The EPR spectra and conductivity of La1 ? x Sr x Mn0.925Zn0.075O3 (x = 0.075, 0.095, 0.115) ceramics with a crystal structure examined by X-ray diffraction have been studied. At x = 0.095, a pronounced magnetic-field dependence of the electrical resistivity has been revealed in the temperature range from 190 to 228 K. For samples with x = 0.075 and 0.115, no similar behavior has been observed. The EPR linewidth linearly increases with increasing temperature in the range from 180 to 380 K for all the samples; the slope decreases as the strontium concentration increases.  相似文献

This paper presents an experimental study of the temperature dependences of the electrical resistivity, thermopower, and magnetoresistance of single-crystal manganite Pr1 ? x Sr x MnO3 (x = 0.22, 0.24). The results obtained have been analyzed in terms of the theory of hopping electrical conductivity of manganites in the phase-separation state and the main postulates of percolation theory. In the 2–400-K interval, hopping conductivity with temperature-dependent activation energy has been observed. Near the Curie temperature, the monotonic exponential growth of electrical resistivity with decreasing temperature becomes distorted by formation of finite metallic clusters. For T ≤ 36 K, the conductivity of Pr0.8Sr0.22MnO3 follows the Mott law.  相似文献

Intergrowth perovskite type complex oxides of composition La1.2Sr1.8MnCrO7 and La1.5Sr1.5MnCrO7 have been synthesized by ceramic method. Rietveld profile analysis shows that the phases crystallize with tetragonal unit cell in the space group I4/mmm. Both the phases behave as insulators in the high temperature region and the linearity of log ρ versus T ?1/4 plot in the temperature range 150–300 K shows that the electronic conduction occurs by a 3D variable range hopping mechanism. The phases show insulator-metal transition at low temperature which could be due to the mixed valence state of Mn3+/Mn4+ by double exchange mechanism. The ferromagnetic interactions observed for the samples arises from double exchange interaction between Mn 3+ and Mn4+ and Cr3+ and Mn3+ ions.  相似文献
