Within the general context of homometallic spin-coupled Cu(II) dimers, we propose to relate the antiferromagnetic part of the exchange coupling constant, J AF, to the quantity ΔP 2(Cu), the difference of copper squared spin populations as calculated for the high-spin (i.e. triplet) and broken-symmetry spin states, through J AF≈−UΔP 2(Cu), where U is interpreted as the covalent–ionic term. This proportionality is illustrated for three “bare” Cu(II) dimers (i.e. without peripheral ligation, so as to enhance the antiferromagnetic contribution) bridged by azido, hydroxo, or oxo groups. This provides an alternative quantifier of the exchange phenomenon to that usually used, i.e. Δ2, the square of the singly occupied molecular orbital splitting in the triplet state. Moreover, and quite interestingly, the quantity ΔP 2(Cu) can become negative (i.e. induce ferromagnetism) without apparently affecting the proportionality relation.  The spectroscopic properties of M–SiO and M–(SiO)2 (1–1 and 1–2 complexes with M = Cu, Ag, or Au) have been theoretically studied. It has been shown that both M–SiO and M–(SiO)2 compounds in their ground state are bent with a metal–Si bonded structure. The calculated M(ns) spin density agrees well with the electron spin resonance experimental data. From a topological analysis, it has been shown that a rather large charge transfer occurs from the metal towards the SiO moiety, and that the M–Si bond energy correlates with the electron density located at the M–Si bond path (bond critical point).  The ground state and several low-lying excited states of the Mg2 dimer have been studied by means of a combination of the complete-active-space multiconfiguration self-consistent-field (CASSCF)/CAS multireference second-order perturbation theory (CASPT2) method and coupled-cluster with single and double excitations and perturbative contribution of connected triple excitations [CCSD(T)] scheme. Reasonably good agreement with experiment has been obtained for the CCSD(T) ground-state potential curve but the dissociation energy of the only experimentally known A1Σ u + excited state of Mg2 is somewhat overestimated at the CASSCF/CASPT2 level. The spectroscopic constants D e, R e and ωe deduced from the calculated potential curves for other states are also reported. In addition, some spin–orbit matrix elements between the excited singlet and triplet states of Mg2 have been evaluated as a function of internuclear separation. We present a number of molecular systems for which the average values 〈?2〉 before and after annihilation of the first spin contaminant in the wave function of the unrestricted Hartree-Fock method are anomalously large (they substantially exceed the expected value S (S + 1)). An example of such systems is N@C20, for the doublet state of which the 〈?2〉 values are equal to 4.2595 before and 13.1390 after annihilation, respectively (calculated by UHF/6-31G* method). We show that four, at the least, spin multiplets (S′ = S, S + 1, S + 2, S + 3) contribute comparatively to the wave function of such systems. The relations are derived allowing one to estimate the contributions of the highest multiplets basing on the average values of 〈?2〉 before and after annihilation of the first spin contaminant.  相似文献

 A theoretical study of the reaction of CN with C2H2 + has been carried out at three levels of theory, namely G2, B3LYP and CCSD(T). The main conclusion is that this is a feasible process under interstellar conditions, but only linear species may be produced. The most favourable product is HCCCN+, followed by CCCNH+. Production of HCCNC+ is predicted to be slightly endothermic; therefore, the reaction of CN + C2H2 + may produce precursors of HC3N and C3N in space. Furthermore, the B3LYP level is found to perform rather well compared with G2 and even better than CCSD(T). The microstructure of the normal micelles formed by dimeric surfactants with long spacers, [Br(CH3)2N+(C m H2 m +1)-(CH2) S  -(C m H2 m +1)N+(CH3)2Br, m = 10 and s = 8, 10 and 12], has been investigated by small-angle neutron scattering and compared with previously reported results for micelles of the same dimeric surfactants with shorter spacers (m = 10 and s = 2, 3, 4 and 6). It was found that for dimeric surfactants with long spacers (s = 8 and 10), both micellar growth and variation in shape occur to only a small extent, if at all, compared with dimeric surfactants with short spacers. However, for the dimeric surfactant with the longest spacer, s = 12, the extent of micellar growth and shape variation is also large. These results are due to the differences in conformation of dimeric surfactants with short spacers (s = 2–6) compared with that of the surfactants with long spacers (s = 8–12). Summary.  In the present review, we reexamine the photomagnetic properties of the [Fe(PM-BiA)2(NCS)2], cis-bis(thiocyanato)-bis[(N-2′-pyridylmethylene)-4-(aminobiphenyl)]iron(II), compound which exhibits, depending on the synthetic method, an exceptionally abrupt spin transition (phase I) with a very narrow hysteresis (T 1/2↓ = 168 K and T 1/2↑ = 173 K) or a gradual spin conversion (phase II) occurring at 190 K. In both cases, light irradiation in the tail of the 1MLCT-LS absorption band, at 830 nm, results in the population of the high-spin state according to the light-induced excited spin-state trapping (LIESST) effect. The capacity of a compound to retain the light-induced HS information, estimated through the T(LIESST) experiment, is determined for both phases. Interestingly, the shape of the T(LIESST) curve is more gradual for the phase II than for the phase I and the T(LIESST) value is found considerably lower in the case of the phase II. The kinetics parameters involved in the photoinduced high-spin→low-spin relaxation process are estimated for both phases. From these data, the experimental T(LIESST) curves are simulated and the particular influence of the cooperativity as well as of the parameters involved in the thermally activated and tunneling regions are discussed. The Light-Induced Thermal Hysteresis (LITH), originally described for the strongly cooperative phase I, is also reinvestigated. Summary.  The monomeric compounds [Fe(abpt)2(NCX)2] (X = S (1), Se (2) and abpt = 4-amino-3,5-bis(pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazole) have been synthesized and characterized. They crystallize in the monoclinic P21/n space group with a = 11.637(2) ?, b = 9.8021(14) ?, c = 12.9838(12) ?, β = 101.126(14)°, and Z = 2 for 1, and a = 11.601(2) ?, b = 9.6666(14) ?, c = 12.883(2) ?, β = 101.449(10)°, and Z = 2 for 2. The unit cell contains a pair mononuclear [Fe(abpt)2(NCX)2] units related by a center of symmetry. Each iron atom, located at a molecular inversion center, is in a distorted octahedral environment. Four of the six nitrogen atoms coordinated to the Fe(II) ion belong to the pyridine-N(1) and triazole-N(2) rings of two abpt ligands. The remaining trans positions are occupied by two nitrogen atoms, N(3), belonging to the two pseudo-halide ligands. The magnetic susceptibility measurements at ambient pressure have revealed that they are in the high-spin range in the 2 K–300 K temperature range. The pressure study has revealed that compound 1 remains in high-spin as pressure is increased up to 4.4 kbar, where an incomplete thermal spin crossover appears at around T 1/2 = 65 K. Quenching experiments at 4.4 kbar have shown that the incomplete character of the conversion is a consequence of slow kinetics. Relatively sharp spin transition takes place at T 1/2 = 106, 152 and 179 K, as pressure attains 5.6, 8.6 and 10.5 kbar, respectively. Corresponding author.  The size-consistent self-consistent matrix dressing method has been applied on an open-shell single-configuration reference state. Once the reference state is converged, several low-lying roots can be obtained for the dressed configuration interaction (CI) matrices of appropriate symmetry. The CI matrices were built with a complete-active-space singles and doubles CI method in order to deal properly with multiconfiguration excited states. The vertical ionization and ionization–excitation transitions are obtained from the difference to the closed shell ground-state energy of the neutral molecule. The method has been applied to NH+ 3 and N+ 2 using atomic natural orbital basis sets and state-average adapted molecular orbitals. Two 2A1 states, very similar and showing great mixing of the (2a l −1) and (3a l −25a l 1) determinants, can be assigned to the broad asymmetric band at 27.6 ± 2 eV in the photoelectron spectrum of NH3. The possible contribution of a 2Π g (3σ g −2 g 1) state to the A shake-up peak of N2 at 24.6 eV is also discussed. Other states, doublets and quadruplets, are reported for both systems up to 30 eV for NH3 and 37 eV for N2. Densities (ρ), viscosities (η) and speeds of sound (u) of the ternary mixture (1-heptanol + tetrachloroethylene + methylcyclohexane) and the corresponding binary mixtures (1-heptanol + tetrachloroethylene), (1-heptanol + methylcyclohexane) and (tetrachloroethylene + methylcyclohexane) at 298.15 K were measured over the whole composition range. The data obtained are used to calculate the excess molar volumes (V E), excess isobaric thermal expansivities (α E), viscosity deviations (Δη), excess Gibbs energies of activation of viscous flow (ΔG *E) and excess isentropic compressibilities (κ S E) of the binary and ternary mixtures. The data from the binary systems were fitted by the Redlich–Kister equation whereas the best correlation method for the ternary system was found using the Nagata equation. Viscosities, speeds of sound and isentropic compressibilities of the binary and ternary mixtures have been correlated by means of several empirical and semi-empirical equations. The best correlation method for viscosities of binary systems is found using the Iulan et al. equation and for the ternary system using the Heric and McAllister equations. The best correlation method for the speeds of sound and isentropic compressibilities of the binary system (1-heptanol + methylcyclohexane) is found using IMR (Van Deal ideal mixing relation) and for the binary system (tetrachloroethylene + methylcyclohexane) it is found using the NR (Nomoto relation) and for the binary system (1-heptanol + tetrachloroethylene) and the ternary system (1-heptanol + trichloroethylene + methylcyclohexane) it is obtained from the FLT (Jacobson free length theory).  相似文献

We report quantitative infrared spectra of vapor-phase hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) with all spectra pressure-broadened to atmospheric pressure. The data were generated by injecting a concentrated solution (83%) of H2O2 into a gently heated disseminator and diluting it with pure N2 carrier gas. The water vapor lines were quantitatively subtracted from the resulting spectra to yield the spectrum of pure H2O2. The results for the ν6 band strength (including hot bands) compare favorably with the results of Klee et al. (J Mol. Spectrosc. 195:154, 1999) as well as with the HITRAN values. The present results are 433 and 467 cm-2 atm−1 (±8 and ±3% as measured at 298 and 323 K, respectively, and reduced to 296 K) for the band strength, matching well the value reported by Klee et al. (S = 467 cm−2 atm−1 at 296 K) for the integrated band. The ν1 + ν5 near-infrared band between 6,900 and 7,200 cm−1 has an integrated intensity S = 26.3 cm−2 atm−1, larger than previously reported values. Other infrared and near-infrared bands and their potential for atmospheric monitoring are discussed.  相似文献

Density functional theory (DFT) with the Becke's three-parameter exchange correlation functional and the functional of Lee, Yang and Parr, gradient-corrected functionals of Perdew, and Perdew and Wang [the DFT(B3LYP), DFT(B3P86) and DFT(B3PW91) methods, respectively], and several levels of conventional ab initio post-Hartree-Fock theory (second- and fourth-order perturbation theory M?ller-Plesset MP2 and MP4(SDTQ), coupled cluster with the single and double excitations (CCSD), and CCSD with perturbative triple excitation [CCSD(T)], configuration interaction with the single and double excitations [CISD], and quadratic configuration interaction method [QCISD(T)], using several basis sets [ranging from a simple 6-31G(d,p) basis set to a 6-311+ +G(3df, 2pd) one], were applied to study of the molecular structure (geometrical parameters, rotational constants, dipole moment) and harmonized infrared (IR) spectrum of formaldehyde (CH2O). High-level ab initio methods CCSD(T) and QCISD(T) with the 6-311+ +G(3df, 2pd) predict correctly molecular parameters, vibrational harmonic wavenumbers and the shifts of the harmonic IR spectrum of 12CH2 16O upon isotopic substitution. Ti/IrO2(x) + MnO2(1-x) anodes have been fabricated by thermal decomposition of a mixed H2IrCl6 and Mn(NO3)2 hydrosolvent. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and polarization curve have been utilized to investigate the electrochemical behavior and electrocatalytic activity of Ti/IrO2(x) + MnO2(1-x) anodes in 0.5 M NaCl solution (pH = 2). Ti/IrO2+MnO2 anode with 70 mol% IrO2 content has the maximum value of q*, indicating that Ti/IrO2(0.7) + MnO2(0.3) anode has the most excellent electrocatalytic activity for the synchronal evolution of Cl2 and O2 in dilute NaCl solution. Tafel lines displayed two distinct linear regions with one of the slope close to 62 mV dec−1 in the low potential region and the other close to 295 mV dec−1 in the high potential region. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopic is employed to investigate the impedance behavior of Ti/IrO2(x) + MnO2(1-x) anodes in 0.5 M NaCl solution. It is observed that as the R ct, R s and R f values for Ti/IrO2(0.7) + MnO2(0.3) anode become smaller, electrocatalytic activity of Ti/IrO2(0.7) + MnO2(0.3) anode becomes better than that of other Ti/IrO2 + MnO2 anodes with different compositions. Ti/IrO2(0.7) + MnO2(0.3) anode fabricated at 400 °C has been observed to possess the highest service life of 225 h, whereas the accelerated life test is carried out under the anodic current of 2 A cm−2 at the temperature of 50 °C in 0.5 M NaCl solution (pH = 2).  相似文献

 [PdCl(terpy)]Clċ3H2O has been synthesized both by interaction of [PdCl4]2− and cis-[Pd(DMSO)2Cl2] with terpy (2,2:6,2′′-terpyridine). Complex formation of [PdCl(terpy)]+ with L-cysteine, S-methyl-L-cysteine, and L-methionine was studied as a function of temperature (298–308 K) using of stopped-flow spectrophotometry in methanol-water (95:5 (v/v)). The ionic strength and acidity of the solutions were adjusted to 0.10 molċdm−3 with CH3SO3H. The second-order rate constant for the reaction of [PdCl (terpy)]+ with L-cysteine amounts to 9.60±0.5 M −1s−1. L-Methionine and S-methyl-L-cysteine are unreactive under the same experimental conditions. The entropy of activation is strongly negative, which is compatible with an associative mechanism.  相似文献

Self-consistent-field computations shed light on two relevant conformations of deoxyadenosine (dA) and deoxyguanosine (dG): one with a pseudoequatorial C1′N9 glycosyl bond and the other, a slightly more stable one, with its C1′N9 bond in a bisectional orientation. In dA, both the N3 and N7 nitrogens are plausible sites for electrophilic attack, but only N7 is a plausible site in dG. The addition of H+, CH3 +, C2H5 + or tert-C4H9 + onto N7 does not provoke notable structural modifications and leaves the base of dA and dG in an antiperiplanar (or nearly antiperiplanar) position with respect to the sugar C1′O4′ bond, but N3 additions cause the base to adopt a synperiplanar or strongly chiral position. This produces strong interactions between the purine and deoxyribose moieties, whose relief could aid the eventual cleavage of the glycosyl bond of dA. Addition of a radical cation onto N7 reduces the dissociation energy of the glycosyl bond by an estimated 8 kcal mol−1 in dA and 4 kcal mol−1 in dG – a bond weakening likely to concur to a depurination of DNA induced by radical cations. Summary.  The reaction of NiCl2 · 6H2O, Na2MoO4 ċ 2H2O, and sulfur in a mixture of diethylenetriamine and 0.2 M ammonia solution (1:4) under solvothermal conditions leads to the formation of orange-red crystals of the oxothiomolybdate Ni(dien)2[Mo2O2S6] (dien = diethylenetriamine) in nearly 100% yield. The structure consists of [Ni(dien)2]2+ cations and discrete dimeric [Mo2O2S6]2− anions. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c (a = 8.726(2), b = 18.111(4), c = 14.419(3) ?, β = 101.686(3)°). Upon heating the compound decomposes in a single step starting at about 250°C. The final decomposition product was identified by X-ray powder diffractometry as MoS2 and Ni3S2. Theoretical level dependencies are discussed of relative isomer stabilities and rotational barriers of trithiomethyl cation [C(SH)3]+ ( a ) and of radical dication [C(SH3)]⋅,2+ ( b ). Spin polarization and dynamic electron correlation are very important for the radical dictation. Removal of an electron from one of the degenerate π-HOMOs of C3h symmetric [C(SH)3]+ stabilizes the remaining π electron to such an extent that the unpaired electron is not in the HOMO of the dictation. The radial π MO's “diving below the Fermi level” facilitates strong spin polarization because of its energetic proximity to σ MOs. Projection of the first three higher spin states eliminates spin contaminations, and the terms E(PUHF(s+3))-E(UHF) and E(PMP4(s+3))-E(MP4) are discussed. The combination of annihilation of spin contamination and electron correlation is essential for the determination of relative energies and rotational barriers of the radical dication. The results obtained at this level match the results of high level QCISD(T) calculations in a near-quantitative fashion. Perturbation theory alone does not correct for spin contamination even if it is carried to full fourth order and includes triple excitations; the E(PMP4(s+3))-E(MP4) values are all negative and can exceed 5 kcal/mol in magnitude. Previous studies showed that annihilation of spin contaminations is important in regions of potential energy surfaces where σ bonds are broken (homolytic dissociation), formed (radical addition), or both (H abstraction by radical). Our findings stress that the annihilation of spin contaminations can be just as important for any process that greatly alters spin polarization and even if that process proceeds without breaking or forming of σ bonds. For comparison, density functional theory also was employed in the potential energy surface analyses. The results obtained with the B3LYP formalism were found to be less susceptible to spin contamination and resulted in rather good agreement with the best pertubation and configuration interaction results. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  The two new compounds Mn(dien)2[MoS4] (1) and Mn(dien)2[Mo2O2S6] (2) (dien = diethylenetriamine) were prepared under solvothermal conditions. Both compounds were obtained as phase-pure products. The structures consist of new [Mn(dien)2]2+ cations and isolated tetrahedral [MoS4]2− (1) or [Mo2O2S6]2− (2) anions. Between the anions and the cations, hydrogen bonding is observed. Compound 1 crystallizes in the tetragonal space group I (a = 10.219(2), c = 9.259(2) ?, Z = 2), whereas 2 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c (a = 8.703(2), b = 18.390(4), c = 14.603(3) ?, β = 103.18(3)°, Z = 4). The thermal behaviour of the thiomolybdates was investigated using difference thermoanalysis (DTA) and thermogravimetry (TG). Summary.  Poly-(4-vinylbenzyl-thiocyanate) (PVBT) was investigated as a photoreactive polymer which changes its refractive index upon UV irradiation as is required for the production of phase gratings. After UV irradiation, the refractive index of PVBT films increased from nD 20 = 1.629 to nD 20 = 1.660 (Δn = +0.031). The change in the refractive index resulted mainly from the photoinduced isomerization of thiocyanate (SCN) to isothiocyanate (NCS) groups. It was possible to modify irradiated PVBT with 1-naphthylmethyl amine which lead to a further increase of the refractive index. Both the isomerization and the modification were followed with FTIR spectroscopy. This modification of the irradiated zones also yields an advantageous stabilization of phase gratings enscribed in PVBT.
