There are currently two hints for new physics involving CP violation in bs transitions: ΔSS f − S J ϕK ≠ 0, and difference in direct CP asymmetry ΔA A K+π 0A K+π ≠ 0. We explore the two scenarios with a large and unique new CP phase in bs transitions. Motivated by ΔS ≠ 0, we update on the right-handed strange-beauty squark sb 1R at TeV scale. Motivated by ΔA ≠ 0, we explore sequential fourth generation t′ and b′ quarks. Both scenarios can survive constraints such as SM level bsγ, sll and B s mixing, and predict sizable CP violation in B s mixing. The fourth generation picture predicts sizable K Lπ 0 vv. Direct search for sb R, b′ and t′ at hadronic colliders, such as Tevatron Run II and LHC, can complement further CP violation studies at these machines, as well as at the future Super B factory.  相似文献

In a previous paper, we proposed the infinite sub-layer quark model, in which the proton and the neutron are made up of an infinite number of point-like (structure-less) quarks u and anti-quarks u CP at an infinite sub-layer level. In this paper, we propose that the dark matter is also made of an infinite number of quarks u and anti-quarks u CP . A pair of the ultimate quarks u and anti-quarks u CP would be produced in the first moments after the Big Bang and then remain as the dark matter for all time, stable against decay and subject only to the weak interaction and gravity. It is then shown that CP is violated in the doublet of u and u CP quarks to account for the asymmetry of the number of particles and anti-particles in the present universe. Furthermore, it is shown that the Higgs bosons are composed of u and u CP dark matter particles and give the masses to gauge bosons, quarks and leptons.  相似文献

We study the SUSY-QCD corrections to B^0-B^0 mixing with a reasonable SUSY parameter space and find that contribution from gluio is proportional to log(mg/μω) where μω is the weak interaction energy scale and by no means negligible.  相似文献

First, a generalized Bell inequality for different times and for different quasi-spin states is developed. We focus on special quasi-spin eigenstates and times. The inequality based on a local realistic theory is violated by the CP-violating parameter [1] if the quantum theory is used to recalculate the probabilities. Next, the quantum mechanical probabilities are modified by the decoherence approach, which enables the initial state to factorize spontaneously. In this way we get a lower limit for the decoherence parameter , which measures the degree of decoherence. This result is compared with the experimental value [2, 3] of the decoherence parameter deduced from the data of the CPLEAR experiment [4].  相似文献

The beauty-conserving strangeness-changing decays ofB s meson are examined. In the charm sector, charm-conserving strangeness changing (Δc = 0, Δs ≠ 0) decays are Cabibbo suppressed and are governed by the CKM elementV us which is much smaller than the CKM diagonal elementV cs, so may be of little interest. On the other hand, in theb-sector, beauty-conserving strangeness changing (Δb = 0, Δs ≠ 0) decays are CKM allowed as the CKM matrix elementV us governing such decays is much larger thanV bc orV bu which govern respectively thebc orbu transitions. The phase space available, however, is too small for the decays considered here. The numerical estimates for the decay widths of two such modes ofB s meson are presented.  相似文献

The importance of a super-B factory in the search for new physics, in particular, due to CP-odd phase(s) from physics beyond the standard model is surveyed. The first point to emphasize is that we now know how to directly measure all three angles of the unitarity triangle very cleanly, i.e. without theoretical assumptions with irreducible theory error ≲1%. However, this requires much more luminosity than is currently available atB-factories. Direct searches via penguin-dominated hadronic modes as well as radiative, pair-leptonic and semi-leptonic decays are also discussed. Null tests of the SM are stressed as these will play a crucial role especially if the effects of BSM phase(s) onB-physics are small.  相似文献

The charmless nonleptonic decay modes Bf 0 K(π) involving a scalar and a pseudoscalar meson in the final state are studied. The scalar meson f 0 is considered as a q̄q state, as favored by some recent studies. Using the generalized factorization approach, the branching ratios and CP violation parameters are computed for these modes. The form factors are calculated using the results from relativistic light front quark model and the ISGW2 model. It is found that the direct CP violation parameters in these modes are small. However, the obtained branching ratios are not in agreement with the experimental data. Therefore, these modes may be considered as possible probes for new physics.   相似文献

It is proposed that T violation in physics, as well as the masses of electron and quarks, arise from a pseudoscalar interaction with a new spin 0 field τ(x), odd in P and T, but even in C. This interaction contains a factor iγ5 in the quark and lepton Dirac algebra, so that the full Hamiltonian is conserving; but by spontaneous symmetry breaking, the new field τ(x) has a nonzero expectation value τ≠0 that breaks P and T symmetry. Oscillations of τ(x) about its expectation value produce a new particle, the “timeon”. The mass of timeon is expected to be high because of its flavor-changing properties.The main body of the paper is on the low energy phenomenology of the timeon model. As we shall show, for the quark system the model gives a compact three-dimensional geometric picture consisting of two elliptic plates and one needle, which embodies the 10 observables: six quark masses, three Eulerian angles and the Jarlskog invariant of the CKM matrix.For leptons, we assume that the neutrinos do not have a direct timeon interaction; therefore, the lowest neutrino mass is zero. The timeon interaction with charged leptons yields the observed nonzero electron mass, analogous to the up and down quark masses. Furthermore, the timeon model for leptons contains two fewer theoretical parameters than observables. Thus, there are two testable relations between the three angles and the Jarlskog invariant of the neutrino mapping matrix.  相似文献

In a R-parity violating (RPV) model of neutrino mass with three bilinear couplings μ i and three trilinear couplings λ i33, where i is the lepton index, we find six generic scenarios each with a distinctive pattern of the trilinear couplings consistent with the neutrino oscillation data. These patterns may be reflected in direct RPV decays of the lighter top squark or in the RPV decays of the lightest superparticle, assumed to be the lightest neutralino. Typical signal sizes at the Tevatron RUN II and the LHC have been estimated and the results turn out to be encouraging.   相似文献

This work addresses the difficulties in the measurements of the nonlinear medium parameter B/A and presents a modification of the finite amplitude method (FAM), one of the accepted procedures to determine this parameter. The modification is based on iterative, hybrid approach and entails the use of the versatile and comprehensive model to predict distortion of the pressure–time waveform and its subsequent comparison with the one experimentally determined. The measured pt waveform contained at least 18 harmonics generated by 2.25 MHz, 29 mm effective diameter, single element, focused PZT source (f-number 3.5) and was recorded by Sonora membrane hydrophone calibrated in the frequency range 1–40 MHz. The hydrophone was positioned coaxially at the distal end of the specially designed, two-section assembly comprising of one, fixed length (60 mm), water-filled cylindrical container and the second, variable length (60–120 mm) container that was filled with unknown medium. The details of the measurement chamber are described and the reasons for this specific design are analyzed. The data were collected with the variable length chamber filled with 1.3-butanediol, which was used as a close approximation of tissue mimicking phantom. The results obtained provide evidence that a novel combination of the FAM with the semi-empirical nonlinear propagation model based on the hyperbolic operator is capable of reducing the overall uncertainty of the B/A measurements as compared to those reported in the literature. The overall uncertainty of the method reported here was determined to be ±2%, which enhances the confidence in the numerical values of B/A measured for different, clinically relevant media. Optimization of the approach is also discussed and it is shown that it involves an iterative procedure that entails a careful selection of the acoustic source and its geometry and the axial distance over which the measurements need to be performed. The optimization also depends critically on the experimental determination of the source surface pressure amplitude.  相似文献
