We revisit the formulation of the principle of minimal flavor violation (MFV) in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model, both at moderate and large tan β, and with or without new CP-violating phases. We introduce a counting rule which keeps track of the highly hierarchical structure of the Yukawa matrices. In this manner, we are able to control systematically which terms can be discarded in the soft SUSY breaking part of the Lagrangian. We argue that for the implementation of this counting rule, it is convenient to introduce a new basis of matrices in which both the squark (and slepton) mass terms as well as the trilinear couplings can be expanded. We derive the RGE for the MFV parameters and show that the beta functions also respect the counting rule. For moderate tan β, we provide explicit analytic solutions of these RGE and illustrate their behavior by analyzing the neighborhood (also switching on new phases) of the SPS-1a benchmark point. We then show that even in the case of large tan β, the RGE remain valid and that the analytic solutions obtained for moderate tan β still allow us to understand the most important features of the running of the parameters, as illustrated with the help of the SPS-4 benchmark point.  相似文献

We study subsolutions of the Dirac and Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau equations described in our earlier papers. It is shown that subsolutions of the Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau equations and those of the Dirac equation obey the same Dirac equation with some built-in projection operator. This covariant equation can be referred to as supersymmetric since it has bosonic as well as fermionic degrees of freedom.  相似文献

We present an example of a highly connected closed network of servers, where the time correlations do not vanish in the infinite volume limit. The limiting interacting particle system behaves in a periodic manner. This phenomenon is similar to the continuous symmetry breaking at low temperatures in statistical mechanics, with the average load playing the role of the inverse temperature.  相似文献

In this paper, a new modified extended tanh-function method is presented for constructing soliton-like,periodic form solutions of nonlinear evolution equation (NEEs). This method is more powerful than the extended tanhfunction method [Phys. Lett. A277 (2000) 212] and the modified extended tanh-function method [Phys. Left. A285 (2001) 355]. Abundant new solutions of two physically important NEEs are obtained by using this method and symbolic computation system Maple.  相似文献

For constrained Hamiltonian systems, the motion equations are deduced from total Hamiltonian and extended Hamiltonian with Lagrangian multipliers depending on time t and canonical variables q i and p i . When the multipliers reduced to only depend on time t, the motion equations exactly agree with the old results. Under the same conditions (Lagrangian multipliers depend on time t and canonical variables q i and p i ), the relation equations of coefficients in the generator of gauge transformation are deduced, but the equations have an additive term besides the well-known results. This additive term is from Lagrangian multipliers depending on canonical variables, and it might perform the gauge symmetries that needs to be discussed further. An extended sine-Gordon equation method is proposed to construct exact travelling wave solutions to Maccari‘s equation based upon a generalized sine-Gordon equation. It is shown that more new travelling wave solutions can be found by this new method, which include bell-shaped soliton solutions, kink-shaped soliton solutions, periodic wave solution, and new travelling waves.  相似文献

Generalized functional separation of variables to nonlinear evolution equations is studied in terms of the extended group foliation method, which is based on the Lie point symmetry method. The approach is applied to nonlinear wave equations with variable speed and external force. A complete classification for the wave equation which admits functional separable solutions is presented. We study the resonances produced in a one dimensional quantum system with an infinite potential on the negative real line plus two Dirac delta barriers centered at the points a,b>0. The system mass is not constant but undergoes jumps at the singular points a and b of the potential. We study the behavior of the resonances under the change of parameters such that the weight of the deltas or the heights of mass jumps. In this paper, we extend the mapping transformation method through introducing variable coefficients. By means of the extended mapping transformation method, many explicit and exact general solutions with arbitrary functions for some nonlinear partial differential equations, which contain solitary wave solutions, trigonometric function solutions, and rational solutions, are obtained.  相似文献

The isotropic oscillator on a plane is discussed where the coordinate and momentum space are both considered to be non-commutative. We also discuss the symmetry properties of the oscillator for three separate cases when the non-commutative parameters Θ and for x and p-space, respectively, satisfy specific relations. We compare the Landau problem with the isotropic oscillator on non-commutative space and obtain a relation between the two non-commutative parameters and the magnetic field of the Landau problem.  相似文献

To find exact traveling wave solutions to nonlinear evolution equations, we propose a method combining symmetry properties with trial polynomial solution to nonlinear ordinary differential equations. By the method, we obtain some exact traveling wave solutions to the Burgers-KdV equations and a kind of reaction-diffusion equations with high order nonlinear terms. As a result, we prove that the Burgers-KdV equation does not have the real solution in the form a 0+a 1tan ξ+a 2tan 2 ξ, which indicates that some types of the solutions to the Burgers-KdV equation are very limited, that is, there exists no new solution to the Burgers-KdV equation if the degree of the corresponding polynomial increases. For the second equation, we obtain some new solutions. In particular, some interesting structures in those solutions maybe imply some physical meanings. Finally, we discuss some classifications of the reaction-diffusion equations which can be solved by trial equation method.  相似文献

We present lattice QCD results on heavy-quark free energies, extract from its temperature dependence the entropy and internal-energy contributions, and discuss the onset of medium effects that lead to screening of static quark–antiquark sources in a thermal medium. The detailed analysis of the temperature and distance dependence of the different contributions indicate the complex non-perturbative nature of strongly interacting matter. We shall discuss the necessity to include those effects in studies on the behavior of heavy quarks, heavy-quark bound states and their dissociation in the quark–gluon plasma phase.  相似文献

We present the results of studies of the nonlinear optical properties of Pd, Ru, and Au nanoparticles. We studied the nonlinear refraction and nonlinear absorption of suspensions of these nanoparticles at 1064-nm wavelength. A relatively strong nonlinear absorption of the Pd nanoparticles was observed in the case of 1064-nm, 50-ps pulses (β=2×10−9 m W−1). The Ru and Pd nanoparticles showed weak negative nonlinear refraction (γ∼−(6–8)×10−16 m2 W−1) in this spectral range. In the case of the Au nanoparticles, a saturated absorption at 532 nm dominated over other nonlinear optical processes.  相似文献

We investigate the pairwise thermal entanglement of the extended XY model with three spin interactions and external filed on zig-zag lattice. The influences of three spin interactions J 2 and external field λ on the thermal entanglement of the nearest neighbor (NN) and next nearest neighbor (NNN) spins are considered. It is found that J 2 and λ suppress both the maximal value and the critical temperature of the NN entanglement C 12. However, when it comes to the NNN entanglement C 13, there exists a critical value of J 2 above which both the maximal entanglement and the critical temperature can be enhanced by J 2 for a fixed external field. With J 2 fixed, the effect of λ on C 13 are different for different values of J 2. For J 2<1, λ suppresses both T C and the maximal values of C 13. For J 2≥1, λ enhances the maximal values of C 13 while decreases the critical temperature. These results show that one is able to get the entanglement wanted by properly controlling the values of the three spin interactions J 2 and the external field λ.  相似文献

In their seminal paper Undecidability and incompleteness in classical mechanics (Int. J. Theor. Phys. 30:1041–1073, 1991), N.C.A. da Costa and F.A. Doria introduced a powerful method for studying the appearance of undecidability and incompleteness in mathematics and theoretical physics. In this work their results are applied to integrability theory. We present the Dirac and Laplacian operators on Clifford bundles over space–time, associated to metric compatible linear connections of Cartan–Weyl, with trace-torsion, Q. In the case of nondegenerate metrics, we obtain a theory of generalized Brownian motions whose drift is the metric conjugate of Q. We give the constitutive equations for Q. We find that it contains Maxwell’s equations, characterized by two potentials, an harmonic one which has a zero field (Bohm-Aharonov potential) and a coexact term that generalizes the Hertz potential of Maxwell’s equations in Minkowski space.We develop the theory of the Hertz potential for a general Riemannian manifold. We study the invariant state for the theory, and determine the decomposition of Q in this state which has an invariant Born measure. In addition to the logarithmic potential derivative term, we have the previous Maxwellian potentials normalized by the invariant density. We characterize the time-evolution irreversibility of the Brownian motions generated by the Cartan–Weyl laplacians, in terms of these normalized Maxwell’s potentials. We prove the equivalence of the sourceless Maxwell equation on Minkowski space, and the Dirac-Hestenes equation for a Dirac-Hestenes spinor field written on Minkowski space provided with a Cartan–Weyl connection. If Q is characterized by the invariant state of the diffusion process generated on Euclidean space, then the Maxwell’s potentials appearing in Q can be seen alternatively as derived from the internal rotational degrees of freedom of the Dirac-Hestenes spinor field, yet the equivalence between Maxwell’s equation and Dirac-Hestenes equations is valid if we have that these potentials have only two components corresponding to the spin-plane. We present Lorentz-invariant diffusion representations for the Cartan–Weyl connections that sustain the equivalence of these equations, and furthermore, the diffusion of differential forms along these Brownian motions. We prove that the construction of the relativistic Brownian motion theory for the flat Minkowski metric, follows from the choices of the degenerate Clifford structure and the Oron and Horwitz relativistic Gaussian, instead of the Euclidean structure and the orthogonal invariant Gaussian. We further indicate the random Poincaré–Cartan invariants of phase-space provided with the canonical symplectic structure. We introduce the energy-form of the exact terms of Q and derive the relativistic quantum potential from the groundstate representation. We derive the field equations corresponding to these exact terms from an average on the invariant state Cartan scalar curvature, and find that the quantum potential can be identified with 1 / 12R(g), where R(g) is the metric scalar curvature. We establish a link between an anisotropic noise tensor and the genesis of a gravitational field in terms of the generalized Brownian motions. Thus, when we have a nontrivial curvature, we can identify the quantum nonlocal correlations with the gravitational field. We discuss the relations of this work with the heat kernel approach in quantum gravity. We finally present for the case of Q restricted to this exact term a supersymmetric system, in the classical sense due to E.Witten, and discuss the possible extensions to include the electromagnetic potential terms of Q  相似文献

This paper describes the results of absolute frequency measurements of primary wavelength standards 633 nm, 543 nm, 532 nm, (iodine stabilized) and 1540 nm (acetylene stabilized) in CMI. The values obtained with Menlo Systems femtosecond frequency comb in CMI are compared with previous measurements of the same standards in BIPM, BEV and MPQ. Measured sub-Doppler linewidths and relative intensities of several hyperfine spectral components of iodine molecule are also presented.  相似文献
