We report a Raman scattering study of the pressure-induced collapse of the Mott-like phases of Ca3Ru2O7 (T(N)=56 K) and Ca2RuO4 (T(N)=110 K). The pressure dependence of the phonon and two-magnon excitations in these materials indicate (i) a T approximately 0 pressure-induced collapse of the antiferromagnetic (AF) insulating phase above P(*) approximately 55 kbar in Ca3Ru2O7 and P(*) approximately 5-10 kbar in Ca2RuO4, (ii) a remarkable insensitivity of the exchange interaction to pressure in both systems, and (iii) evidence for persistent AF correlations above the critical pressure of Ca2RuO4, suggestive of phase separation involving AF insulator and ferromagnetic metal phases.  相似文献

Vortex thermal fluctuations in heavily underdoped Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) (T(c)=69.4 K) are studied using Josephson plasma resonance. From the zero-field data, we obtain the c-axis penetration depth lambda(L,c)(0)=230+/-10 micrometer and the anisotropy ratio gamma(T). The low plasma frequency allows us to study phase correlations over the whole vortex solid state and to extract a wandering length r(w) of vortex pancakes. The temperature dependence of r(w) as well as its increase with dc magnetic field is explained by the renormalization of the vortex line tension by the fluctuations, suggesting that this softening is responsible for the dissociation of the vortices at the first order transition.  相似文献

The local density of states (LDOS) at the vortex lattice cores in a high- T(c) superconductor is studied by using a self-consistent mean-field theory including interactions for both antiferromagnetism (AF) and d-wave superconductivity (DSC). In a zero-field optimally doped sample the AF order is completely suppressed while DSC prevails. In the mixed state, we show that the local AF-like spin density wave order appears near the vortex core and acts as an effective local magnetic field on electrons via Zeeman coupling. As a result, the LDOS at the core exhibits a double-peak structure near the Fermi level that is in good agreement with recent scanning tunneling microscopy observations.  相似文献

We report low-temperature calorimetric, magnetic, and resistivity measurements on the antiferromagnetic (AF) heavy-fermion metal YbRh(2)Si(2) ( T(N)=70 mK) as a function of magnetic field B. While for fields exceeding the critical value B(c0) at which T(N)-->0 the low-temperature resistivity shows an AT2 dependence, a 1/(B-B(c0)) divergence of A(B) upon reducing B to B(c0) suggests singular scattering at the whole Fermi surface and a divergence of the heavy quasiparticle mass. The observations are interpreted in terms of a new type of quantum critical point separating a weakly AF ordered from a weakly polarized heavy Landau-Fermi liquid state.  相似文献

Site-dependent NMR relaxation time T1(r) is calculated in the vortex state using the Bogoliubov-de Gennes theory, taking account of possible "field-induced stripe" states in which the magnetism arises locally around a vortex core in d-wave superconductivity. The recently observed huge enhancement T-11(r) below T(c) at a core site in Tl2Ba2CuO6 is explained. The field-induced stripe picture explains consistently other relevant STM and neutron experiments.  相似文献

We performed the first scanning tunneling spectroscopy measurements on the pyrochlore superconductor KOs2O6 (T(c)=9.6 K) in both zero magnetic field and the vortex state at several temperatures above 1.95 K. This material presents atomically flat surfaces, yielding spatially homogeneous spectra which reveal fully gapped superconductivity with a gap anisotropy of 30%. Measurements performed at fields of 2 and 6 T display a hexagonal Abrikosov flux line lattice. From the shape of the vortex cores, we extract a coherence length of 31-40 A, in agreement with the value derived from the upper critical field H(c2). We observe a reduction in size of the vortex cores (and hence the coherence length) with increasing field which is consistent with the unexpectedly high and unsaturated upper critical field reported.  相似文献

Single-crystal neutron diffraction studies on superconductors A(2)Fe(4)Se(5), where A=Rb, Cs, (Tl, Rb), and (Tl, K) (T(c) ~ 30 K), uncover the same Fe vacancy ordered crystal structure and the same block antiferromagnetic order as in K(2)Fe(4)Se(5). The Fe order-disorder transition occurs at T(S)=500-578 K, and the antiferromagnetic transition at T(N) = 471-559 K with an ordered magnetic moment ~3.3μ(B)/Fe at 10 K. Thus, all recently discovered A intercalated iron selenide superconductors share the common crystalline and magnetic structure, which are very different from previous families of Fe-based superconductors, and constitute a distinct new 245 family.  相似文献

The ab-plane reflectance of Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) (Bi-2212) thin films was measured in the 30-25 000 cm(-1) range for one underdoped ( T(c) = 70 K), and one overdoped sample ( T(c) = 63 K) down to 10 K. We find similar behaviors in the temperature dependence of the normal-state infrared response of both samples. Above T(c), the effective spectral weight, obtained from the integrated conductivity, does not decrease when T decreases, so that no opening of an optical pseudogap is seen. We suggest that these are consequences of the pseudogap opening in the k = (0,pi) direction and of the in-plane infrared conductivity being mostly sensitive to the k = (pi,pi) direction.  相似文献

Temperature dependent optical spectra are reported for beta-Na0.33V2O5. The sodium ordering transition at T(Na)=240 K and, in particular, the charge ordering transition at T(MI)=136 K strongly influence the optical spectra. The metal-insulator transition at T(MI) leads to the opening of a pseudogap ( variant Planck's over 2pi omega=1700 cm(-1)) and to the appearance of a large number of optical phonons. These observations and the presence of a midinfrared band (typical for low dimensional metals) strongly suggest that the charge carriers in beta-Na0.33V2O5 are small polarons.  相似文献

We report the spin Knight shift (K(s)) and the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate (1/T1) in the vortex state as a function of magnetic field (H) up to 28 T in the high-Tc superconductor TlSr2CaCu2O6.8 (Tc = 68 K). At low temperatures well below Tc, both K(s) and 1/T1 measured around the middle point between the two nearest vortices (saddle point) increase substantially with increasing field, which indicate that the quasiparticle states with an ungapped spectrum are extended outside the vortex cores in a d-wave superconductor. The density of states (DOS) around the saddle point is found to be kappaN(0)square root[H/H(c2)], with kappa = 0.5-0.7 and N0 being the normal-state DOS.  相似文献

Evidence for static alternating magnetic fields in the vortex cores of underdoped YBa2Cu3O6+x is reported. Muon spin rotation measurements of the internal magnetic field distribution of the vortex state of YBa2Cu3O6.50 in applied fields of H = 1 T and H = 4 T reveal a feature in the high-field tail of the field distribution which is not present in optimally doped YBa2Cu3O6.95 and which fits well to a model with static magnetic fields in the vortex cores. The magnitude of the fields is estimated to be 18(2) G and decreases above T = 10 K. We discuss possible origins of the additional vortex core magnetism within the context of existing theories.  相似文献

Using a low temperature scanning tunneling microscope in the spectroscopic mode, we find that the disorder in a Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) thin film modifies dramatically the quasiparticle local density of states. Small, but well-defined superconducting regions, coexisting with dominating semiconducting areas, show well-pronounced gap structures, similar to those observed previously in high-quality single crystals. Surprisingly, between these two regions, the detailed shape of the quasiparticle spectrum is virtually identical to the pseudogap previously observed at temperatures T>T(c), or in the vortex core, at 4.2 K. Thus, the role of the disorder in destroying the superconducting phase is comparable to that of the magnetic field or thermal fluctuations.  相似文献

Using scanning tunneling spectroscopy, we investigated the temperature dependence of the quasiparticle density of states of overdoped Bi(2)Sr(2)CuO(6+delta) between 275 mK and 82 K. Below T(c) = 10 K, the spectra show a gap with well-defined coherence peaks at +/-Delta(p) approximately 12 meV, which disappear at T(c). Above T(c), the spectra display a clear pseudogap of the same magnitude, gradually filling up and vanishing at T(*) approximately 68 K. The comparison with Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) demonstrates that the pseudogap and the superconducting gap scale with each other, providing strong evidence that they have a common origin.  相似文献

From measurements of the 63Cu Knight shift ( K) and the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate ( 1/T1) under magnetic fields from zero up to 28 T in the slightly overdoped high- T(c) superconductor TlSr2CaCu2O6.8 ( T(c) = 68 K), we find that the pseudogap behavior, i.e., the reductions of 1/T1T and K above T(c) from the values expected from the normal state at high T, is strongly field dependent and follows a scaling relation. We show that this scaling is consistent with the effects of the Cooper pair density fluctuations. The present finding contrasts sharply with the pseudogap property reported previously in the underdoped regime where no field effect was seen up to 23.2 T. The implications are discussed.  相似文献

We report measurements of the anisotropy of the spin echo decay for the inner layer Cu site of the triple layer cuprate Hg(0.8)Re(0.2)Ba(2)Ca(2)Cu(3)O(8) (T(c)=126 K). The angular dependence of the second moment (T(-2)(2M) identical with ) deduced from the decay curves indicates that T(-2)(2M) for H0 parallel c is enhanced in the pseudogap regime below T(pg) approximately 170 K, as seen in bilayer systems. Comparison of T(-2)(2M) between H0 parallel c and H0 perpendicular c indicates that this enhancement is caused by electron spin correlations between the inner and the outer CuO2 layers. The results provide the answer to the long-standing controversy regarding the opposite T dependences of (T1T)(-1) and T(-2)(2G) (T(2G): Gaussian component) in the pseudogap regime of multilayer systems.  相似文献

We have measured intrinsic-tunneling spectra of a single CuO-layer La-doped Bi2(Sr(2-x)Lax)CuO(6+delta) (Bi2201-Lax). Despite a difference of a factor of 3 in the optimal superconducting critical temperatures for Bi2201-La0.4 and Bi2212 (32 and 95 K, respectively) and different spectral energy scales, we find that the pseudogap vanishes at a similar characteristic temperature T* approximately 230-300 K for both compounds. We find also that, in Bi2201-Lax, pseudogap humps are seen as sharp peaks and, in fact, even dominate the intrinsic spectra.  相似文献

From 29Si NMR study, we present evidence for spatially inhomogeneous development of antiferromagnetic (AF) ordering below T(o) = 17.5 K in URu2Si2. In the pressure range between 3.0 and 8.3 kbar, we have observed the 29Si NMR lines arising from the AF region as well as the previously observed 29Si NMR line which correspond to the nonmagnetic region in the sample. The AF volume fraction is enhanced by applied pressure, whereas the magnitude of internal field at the Si site remains constant (910 Oe) up to 8.3 kbar. In the AF region, the ordered moment is about an order of magnitude larger than 0.03 mu(B)/U.  相似文献

The compound BaMn2As2 with the tetragonal ThCr2Si2 structure is a local-moment antiferromagnetic insulator with a Néel temperature T(N)=625 K and a large ordered moment μ=3.9μ(B)/Mn. We demonstrate that this compound can be driven metallic by partial substitution of Ba by K while retaining the same crystal and antiferromagnetic structures together with nearly the same high T(N) and large μ. Ba(1-x)K(x)Mn2As2 is thus the first metallic ThCr2Si2-type MAs-based system containing local 3d transition metal M magnetic moments, with consequences for the ongoing debate about the local-moment versus itinerant pictures of the FeAs-based superconductors and parent compounds. The Ba(1-x)K(x)Mn2As2 class of compounds also forms a bridge between the layered iron pnictides and cuprates and may be useful to test theories of high T(c) superconductivity.  相似文献

We report on low temperature scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) studies of the electronic structure of vortex cores in Bi 2Sr 2CaCu 2O (8+delta). At the vortex core center, an enhanced density of states is observed at energies near Omega = +/-7 meV. Spectroscopic imaging at these energies reveals an exponential decay of these "core states" with a decay length of 22+/-3 A. The fourfold symmetry sometimes predicted for d-wave vortices is not seen in spectroscopic vortex images. A locally nodeless order parameter induced by the magnetic field may be consistent with these measurements.  相似文献

Scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy measurements in the superconducting dichalcogenide 2H-NbS2 show a peculiar superconducting density of states with two well-defined features at 0.97 and 0.53 meV, located, respectively, above and below the value for the superconducting gap expected from the single band s-wave BCS model (Delta=1.76k_(B)T_(c)=0.9 meV). Both features have a continuous temperature evolution and disappear at T_(c)=5.7 K. Moreover, we observe the hexagonal vortex lattice with radially symmetric vortices and a well-developed localized state at the vortex cores. The sixfold star shape characteristic of the vortex lattice of the compound 2H-NbSe2 is, together with the charge density wave order, absent in 2H-NbS2.  相似文献
