Synthesis of 1-aryl-3-（3,4-dihydro-2H-chromen-5-yl） ureas as TNF-α inhibitors

A new series of compounds,1-aryl-3-(3,4-dihydro-2H-chromen-5-yl) ureas,have been synthesized and their structures were confirmed by FAB-MS and ~1H NMR.The preliminary pharmacological screening showed that these compounds inhibited TNF-αproduction in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated THP-1 cells.     

THE SOLID STATE ALDOL CONDENSATION REACTION OF ACETYLFERROCENE AND AROMATIC ALDEHYDES

The aldol condensation reactions of acetylferrocene with several aromaticaldehydes have been studied in the solid state.The results showed that they revealed differentreactivities in the solid slate from that in solution and eight compounds have been prepared.Their structures have been characterized by UV,IR,1~HNMR,HS and elemental analysis.     

One-pot synthesis, antibacterial and antifungal activities of novel 2,5-disubstituted-1,3,4-oxadiazoles

A series of novel 2,5-disubstituted-1,3,4-oxadiazoles have been synthesized from long-chain alkanoic and alkenoic acids. The structures of these compounds have been elucidated by elemental and spectral （IR, ^1H NMR, ^13C NMR, MS） analysis. Furthermore, compounds were screened for in vitro antibacterial activity against the representative panel of two Gram-positive and two Gram- negative bacteria. All the synthesized compounds were also tested for their inhibitory action against five strains of fungus. The various compounds show potent inhibitory action against test organisms. 2007 Abdul Rauf. Synthesis and properties of novel photochromic bisthienylethenes containing imidazole and imidazolium derivatives

A series of bisthienylethenes containing imidazole and imidazolium derivatives have been prepared and the products have been characterized by means of NMR and MS.Their photochromic and fluorescent switch properties have been investigated by UV–vis absorption spectra and fluorescence spectra.The fluorescent emissions of these kinds of photochromic compounds can be simply modulated by varying the imidazole groups,which shows that these compounds may have potential application in the design of fluorescent photochromic materials.     

Selective Synthesis of [2＋2] Macrocyclic Schiff Bases from Chiral 1,4-Diamines

[2＋2] macrocyclic Schiff bases of three kinds have been synthesized from chiral 1,4-diamines by use of different methods. Macrocyclic Schiff bases 1a-1c have been selectively obtained based on a non-templated dilution method from chiral 1,4-diamines a-c and dialdehyde DA1, whereas macrocycles 2a-2c have been selectively produced from reaction of diamines a-c and dialdehyde DA2 in the presence of boric acid as templates. Macrocyclic Schiff bases 3a-3c have been afforded in high selectivity from diamines a-c and dialdehyde DA3 by means of sodium-template. All the titled compounds have been confirmed by ^1H NMR and ESI-MS analyses.

Synthesis and Liquid Crystalline Properties of 3-Substituted Pentane-2,4-dione, Pyrazole and Isoxazole Derivatives

The γ-substituted β-diketonate 2,4-dioxo-3-pentyl 4-[4-（n-octyloxy）cinnamoyl]oxybenzoate 1 and its pyrazole and isoxazole derivatives （2 and 3 respectively） have been synthesized and characterized by the spectroscopic methods and elemental analysis. The mesogenic properties of these compounds have been studied by polarizing optical microscopy （POM） and differential scanning calorimetry （DSC）. A monotropic nematic mesophase was observed for the β-diketonate 1, in contrast, the pyrazole 2 displays an enantiotropic smectic A and isoxazole 3 exhibits an enantiotropic nematic mesophase. The relationship between the structure and liquid crystalline properties has also been discussed.

Synthesis and Herbicidal Activity of Novel 5-Substituted Benzenesulfonylureas

Sulfonylurea herbicides have been widely used because of their low application rates,good crop selectivities and low mammalian toxicities.However,some sulfonylureas might persist unfavourably in the environment with residual problems.In order to look for ecologically safer and environmentally benign sulfonylureas,and on keeping the pyrimidine ring being monosubstituted,15 novel C5-monosubstituted benzenesulfonylurea compounds were synthesized.The structures of all the compounds synthesized were confirmed by elemental analysis and 1H NMR.Preliminary herbicidal activities of these new sulfonylurea compounds were determined by ALS screening(in vitro)and pot bioassay experiments(in vivo).The herbicidal results show that some novel sulfonylureas are comparable to commercial Foramsulfuron and Monosulfuron.

Guanidinium Lactate Ionic Liquid： An Efficient and Recycling Catalyst for Michael Addition Reaction

Solvent-and Catalyst-free Synthesis and Antifungal Activities of α-Aminophosphonate Containing Cyclopropane Moiety

Nine new α-aminophosphonate derivatives containing cyclopropane moiety have been synthesized via conventional and microwave irradiation methods under solvent-and catalyst-free condition. The structures of the title compounds have been confirmed by 1H NMR, 31P NMR, FTIR, EI-MS and FTICR-MS. Their antifungal activities were evaluated in vivo and some of the compounds were found to exhibit excellent antifungal activities against Corynespora cassiicola, Pseudomonas syringae pv. Lachrymans, Pseudoperonospora cubensis and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum.
