The aim of this paper is to show the existence and uniqueness of a solution for a class of nonlinear multivelocity neutron transport equations and to present a method for the determination of the solution. A recursion formula for the construction of a solution by the method of successive approximations and an error estimate for approximate solutions are given. Both global and local solutions are discussed. The conditions imposed on the nonlinear equation are directly applicable to the linear multivelocity transport problem, and a recursion formula for this system is also given. In the process of approximations, only successive integrations are involved. This fact indicates a promising possibility for the calculation of numerical results by using a computer. A brief discussion of this possibility and the applicability of the results on nonlinear problems are included.  相似文献

We study the homogenization of the linear and nonlinear transport equations with oscillatory velocity fields. Two types of homogenized equations are derived. For general n-dimensional linear and nonlinear problems, we derive homogenized equations by introducing additional independent variables to represent the small scales. For the two-dimensional linear transport equations, we derive effective equations for the averaged quantities. Such equations take the form of either a degenerate non-local diffusion equation with memory or a higher order hyperbolic equation. To study the nonlinear transport equations we introduce the concept of two-scale Young measure and extend DiPerna's method to prove that it reduces to a family of Dirac measures.  相似文献

We consider the system of equations describing transport processes in inhomogeneous distributed media, such as those in nuclear reactors. For a given system of equations, a mixed problem is posed. Under certain conditions on the initial data, we prove the global solvability of the problem in the weak generalized sense by using the standard scheme of nonlinear functional analysis.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence and uniqueness of solutions of reaction-diffusion equations arising in many applications and often coupled. Our approach to the problem is based on converting the coupled equations into a system of Volterra-Fredholm type integral equations by means of the Green's function representation and using the Banach fixed point theorem. A generalization of the logarithmic norm to nonlinear operators, the Dahlquist constant is introduced as a useful tool for the estimation and analysis of error propagation in general nonlinear first-order ODE's. It is a counterpart to the Lipschitz constant which has similar applications to difference equations. While Lipschitz constants can also be used for ODE's, estimates based on the Dahlquist constant always give sharper results.The analogy between difference and differential equations is investigated, and some existence and uniqueness results for nonlinear (algebraic) equations are given. We finally apply the formalism to the implicit Euler method, deriving a rigorous global error bound for stiff nonlinear problems.Dedicated to my teacher and friend, Professor Germund Dahlquist, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.  相似文献

We construct a deterministic, Lagrangian many-particle approximation to a class of nonlocal transport PDEs with nonlinear mobility arising in many contexts in biology and social sciences. The approximating particle system is a nonlocal version of the follow-the-leader scheme. We rigorously prove that a suitable discrete piece-wise density reconstructed from the particle scheme converges strongly in Lloc1 towards the unique entropy solution to the target PDE as the number of particles tends to infinity. The proof is based on uniform BV estimates on the approximating sequence and on the verification of an approximated version of the entropy condition for large number of particles. As part of the proof, we also prove uniqueness of entropy solutions. We further provide a specific example of non-uniqueness of weak solutions and discuss the interplay of the entropy condition with the steady states. Finally, we produce numerical simulations supporting the need of a concept of entropy solution in order to get a well-posed semigroup in the continuum limit, and showing the behaviour of solutions for large times.  相似文献
