Passive mode-locking of a pulsed Nd:YAG laser using a Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber was realized for the first time in a nearly critical stable resonator containing an antiresonant ring structure. The output energy and pulse duration are 13.5 mJ and 180 ps, respectively. The recovery time and saturable intensity for excited-state absorption of Cr4+:YAG under the action of strong laser pulses were calculated from rate equations.  相似文献

A lamp pumped CW Nd:YAG laser is presented in this paper for the requirement of industrial application. The main factors, which affect output power and beam quality of high power solid-state laser module, are theoretically analyzed. Total electro-optics efficiency of lamp pumped Nd:YAG crystal as high as 4.0% is obtained, and output power is higher than 647 W with beam parameter product 22 mm·mrad.  相似文献

We report on the characterization of a diode-side-pumped Nd:YAG rod laser operating at high CW output power. A four-fold pump configuration is designed and the pump light is directly coupled into the Nd:YAG rod without the help of any cylindrical lenses. The distribution of pump light in the Nd:YAG rod has been calculated by using ray tracing program. The thermal lens effect of the Nd:YAG rod has been experimentally measured. A maximum output power of 800 W at 1064 nm in multimode operation is obtained for a pump power of 2400 W with 33% optical-optical efficiency. At the same time, the maximum beam parameter product of 25 mm·mrad is achieved.  相似文献

We demonstrate a three-nanosecond equidistant sub-pulse multi-step Q-switched Nd:Y3 Al5 O12(Nd:YAG) laser. In the time interval of 100–1000 ns, three pulses with the same nanosecond interval and the same peak power are obtained at the pulse width of 24 ns, 28 ns, and 36.6 ns, respectively. The energy is 32.5 m J, and the optical efficiency is 10.8%. The multi-step Q-switched method does not require the insertion of other optical elements into the traditional Q-switched laser, and it is very suitable to obtain pulse group output with several nanosecond pulse intervals.  相似文献

In this paper, we report that mode-locked operation is realized in a flashlamp-pumped Nd:YAG laser with a nearly critical stable resonator, using LiF:F2 color center crystal as a modulation device. A single pulse train with the energy of 25 mJ and the pulse duration of 82 ps is obtained. Both the theoretical and experimental results have shown that the mode-locked operation has resulted from kerr-lens effect formed in combination with self-focusing within Nd:YAG and an aperture at a specific point, but not directly from the saturable absorption of LiF:F2 crystal.  相似文献

A corner-pumped Nd:YAG/YAG composite slab continuous-wave laser operating at 1064 nm,1074 nm,1112 nm,1116 nm,and 1123 nm simultaneously and a laser that is tunable at these wavelengths are reported for the first time.The maximum output power of the five-wavelength laser is 5.66 W with an optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 11.3%.After a birefringent filter is inserted in the cavity,the five wavelengths can be separated successfully by rotating the filter.The maximum output powers of the 1064 nm,1074 nm,1112 nm,1116 nm,and 1123 nm lasers are 1.51 W,1.3 W,1.27 W,0.86 W,and 0.72 W,respectively.  相似文献

We demonstrate a high power continuous wave (CW) infrared laser operated at 1112 nm from a diode side-pumped Nd:YAG crystal with a plano-plano symmetrical resonator. By inserting an etalon, an output power of as high as 93.7 W at 1112 nm was obtained at the pump power of 570 W with conversion efficiency of 16.4%. The beam quality factor of M2 was measured to be about 17. The wavelength tunable performance of the etalon was also analyzed. To the best of our knowledge, it is the highest output power at 1112 nm CW laser based on Nd:YAG crystal.  相似文献

A continuous wave (CW) Nd:YAG infrared laser at 1319 nm is reported in this paper. The energy level of 1319-nm wave was analyzed. The repression of 1064-nm lasing and enhancement of 1319-nm output power were discussed. Mirror coating and cavity structure were studied and a maximum CW output power of 43 W at 1319 nm was achieved in experiments.  相似文献

The paper reports on the characterization of a side-pumped 40 W CW Nd:YAG laser. A side-pumping configuration with six laser diodes is used for the laser. We show the comparison between the calculated and measured pump energy distributions in the laser crystal. The birefringence and the thermal lens effect of the Nd:YAG crystal have been experimentally investigated, and their influence on the performance of the laser are discussed. Output power and beam quality of the laser under different output couplings, cavity lengths, types of cavity and different temperatures of the cooling water have been experimentally studied.  相似文献

This paper reports the operation of a Cr4+:YAG Q-switched CW diode laser pumped Nd:YAG at 1064nm. The laser performances resulted in 167 μ J, 21ns pulses at 10kHz, and 1.67W power output. When intracavity polarized, stable amplitude (fluctuations <±1%), TEM00, 153 μ J pulses were generated allowing 50% SHG in KTP. In this paper, a highly efficient Ti:sapphire end-pumped 1 at.-% Nd:YAG ceramic laser that is comparable in efficiency with Nd:YAG single crystal lasers has been developed. Optical absorption and emission spectra for Nd:YAG ceramics have been measured. With 673-mW pumping, 295-mW laser output at 1064 nm has been obtained. The laser threshold is only 13 mW. Deducted the transmitted light, the corresponding optical-to-optical conversion efficiency is 58.4%. The lasing characteristics of Nd:YAG ceramic are nearly equal to those of Nd:YAG single crystal.  相似文献

A diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser operating with active-passive Q-switch mode locking, has been developed. The acousto-optic repetition train was one kilohertz with generated pulse train widths 65 ns, single pulse widths 200 ps and an average power of 6.5 W. Improvement of efficiency of small diameter deep holes laser drilling in different materials was studied.  相似文献
