We have compared theoretical calculations of the temperature dependence of the antiferromagnetic resonance field for KNiF3, a cubic crystal, with the experimental data obtained by other authors. We have discussed the applicability to the cubic case of Kittel's equations for a uniaxial system. We have used experimental values from the literature for the magnetic susceptibilities and anisotropy in the expression for the antiferromagnetic resonance field.  相似文献

Measurements of Raman scattering from two magnon excitations in the two dimensional antiferromagnet K2NiF4 are extended to 275°K. The zeroth frequency moment of the magnon signal has a temperature dependence essentially the same as that found in the three dimensional antiferromagnet, NiF2. No indications of critical behavior are apparent in the first frequency moment for K2NiF4 in contrast to the case of three dimensional antiferromagnets.  相似文献

We have measured the classic constants C11, C33, C55 and C66 in K2NiF4 as a function of temperature between 4.2 and 200 K. A small velocity and attenuation anomaly was observed in the C11 mode at TN = 97.2 K.  相似文献

以SrO和CrO2为原料, 在高温高压的条件下直接反应生成纯相的K2NiF4结构的Sr2CrO4多晶样品. 结构用粉末X射线衍射及GSAS精修表征. 磁化率测试显示样品存在一个弱的反铁磁相变, 奈尔温度为TN=95 K. 在奈尔温度以上, 磁化率随温度的变化遵循居里-外斯定律. 对样品进行了电阻测试, 结果显示了样品的绝缘特性.  相似文献

The preparation of the new K2NiF4-type compounds, Sr2Co0.5Ru0.5O4, Sr2Ni0.5Ru0.5O4 and Sr2Ga0.5Ru0.5O4 by direct solid state synthesis and the subsequent characterization by powder X-ray diffraction measurements are described. From Rietveld refinements, we found that the compounds have a K2NiF4-type structure with the symmetry of space group I4/mmm. It was found that in these compounds, the substituted trivalent metal ions (M=Co, Ni, and Ga) and the Ru ions are disordered over the octahedral B sites of the K2NiF4 structure. The octahedral Ru-O environment is less elongated in the apical direction in these compounds than in the Sr2RuO4 compound. We also found that the octahedron in Sr2Ga0.5Ru0.5O4 is more symmetric than that of Sr2Co0.5Ru0.5O4 and Sr2Ni0.5Ru0.5O4. The Ru K-edge X-ray absorption measurements showed that Ru ions were in a pentavalent oxidation state.  相似文献

A coordinated series of Raman and Brillouin scattering measurements were carried out in K2SeO4 with emphasis on temperatures near and below the incommensurate structural phase transition (Ti=129 K). Below the lock-in phase transition (Tc=99 K) Raman scattering from both the amplitude mode and the phase mode analog was observed. However, only the amplitude mode could be followed into the incommensurate phase. Details of the amplitude mode frequency and damping are reported for temperatures considerably closer to Ti than previously possible. Our results do not confirm the diverging linewidth extrapolated from earlier Raman work. We also report here the first Brillouin scattering results in K2SeO4. Although substancial interaction effects between the acoustic phonons and the soft amplitude mode are evident near Ti, the coupled mode lineshapes can be well described without the introduction of a relaxing self energy for the soft mode. Finally, limits on the characteristics of the phason are drawn from our failure to observe it directly in the incommensurate phase.  相似文献

The ultrasonic velocities in K2ZnCl4 were measured as functions of temperature. At the incommensurate-commensurate phase transition point the velocity of the c55 mode showed a clear anomaly, whereas anomalies were hardly observable in all other modes. The antiferromagnetic structure of MnS2 has been re-examined by neutron diffraction from a single crystal. The phase transition has been found to be of the first order without any detectable thermal hysteresis. The hyperfine fields of Cu2+ and F- ions nearest to a Zn2+ ion are measured by a spin echo method in a single crystal of K2Cu0.95Zn0.05F4. It is shown that the local symmetry due to the Jahn-Teller distortion is practically unaffected by the proximity of Zn2+ ions.  相似文献

The crystal structure of K2CuF4 has been studied by means of Raman scattering. The structure is found to belong to the space group D4h5 rather than D4h17 of K2NiF4 between 2 and 800 K because of the distortion arising from the “orbital ordering effect”.  相似文献

The 35Cl NQR frequencies of K2ZnCl4 have been measured close to the incommensurate-commensurate transition. A calculation of the temperature dependence of the soliton density ns from the NQR data showed that in K2ZnCl4 close to Tc exists a metastable chaotic state.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of elastic stiffnesses of K2Ba(NO2)4 is investigated in the range - 140 to + 160°C, in which two phase transitions have been reported. Marked anomalies appear at the lower transition, in contrast with continuous variations through the upper transition. Results are compared to those obtained near the upper transition by an ultrasonic method and they are qualitatively discussed.  相似文献

The studies have been performed by means of neutron scattering. We report here the first experimental verification of the theoretical predictions concerning temperature dependence of the long range order parameter of two-dimensional Ising systems, giving the values B = 1·16±0·03 and β = 0·119±0·008 for the critical parameters. Also the parameters for the inverse correlation length and the staggered susceptibility were determined, with exponents v = 0·89±0·1 and γ = 1·34±0·22. It was discovered that frozen-in states of stacking of the two-dimensional planes appeared upon quick cooling through the ordering temperature.  相似文献

The magnetic excitation spectrum of K2FeF4 and Rb2FeF4, two K2NiF4-structure planar antiferromagnets with rather large anisotropy and spins perpendicular to the c-axis, has been measured by Raman and FIR-spectroscopy. One of the two predicted one-magnon transitions and the two-magnon mode have been observed in K2FeF4 (Rb2FeF4) at 48.5 cm-1 (37.6 cm-1) and 182.0 cm-1 (160.5 cm-1) respectively. The magnetic field and temperature dependence of the spectra are reported too. The data are discussed on the basis of an easy plane spin model Hamiltonian. In K2FeF4: Mn2+ a low lying magnetic impurity mode is observed at 40.5 cm-1.  相似文献

The linear birefringence of stress induced single antiferromagnetic T-domains of RbMnF3, KNiF3 and KCoF3 has been measured in the vicinity of TN. We deduce the critical behaviour in such 3d-Heisenberg systems, showing a symmetry breaking at the transition involving a unique wave vector of the order parameter in the Brillouin zone. The critical exponent β of the linear birefringence has been found to be larger than 2β, in agreement with the theoretical predictions of G. Gehring.  相似文献

The defect (Mn2+,Ni2+,Fe2+) induced magnon gap modes in the layered antiferromagnets K2CoF4 and Rb2CoF4 were investigated with the methods of FIR absorption-and IR emission spectroscopy. The anisotropic exchange-parameters describing the strongly localized Mn2+ spin excitations far below the host lattice magnon band and the Ni2+ excitations in the vacinity of this band are presented. In the diluted system K2Co1-cMncF4 localized Mn2+ cluster modes up to about C≈0.1 were observed. The excitation energy of these modes can only be explained by assuming an anisotropic Mn2+-Mn2+ exchange which is in contrast to the pure isomorphous system K2MnF4. In the spin mismatch system K2CoF4: Fe the magnetic moments of the isolated Fe2+ impurities are pulled from the plane perpendicular to the c-axis and aligned parallel to the easy axis of the magnetic crystal.  相似文献

La3S4 and La3Se4 undergo a cubic to tetragonal phase transformation at a temperature of 103 and 70 K respectively, the c/a ratio is 0.984 for La3S4 and 0.987 for La3Se4. In these compounds the conduction electron Fermi energy happens to be close to a band structure anomaly which drives the phase transition. We find some indication, that the anomaly might be of ?-type.  相似文献

Low-temperature specific-heat measurements on YbRh2Si2 at the second order antiferromagnetic (AF) phase transition reveal a sharp peak at TN=72 mK. The corresponding critical exponent α turns out to be α=0.38, which differs significantly from that obtained within the framework of the fluctuation theory of second order phase transitions based on the scale invariance, where α?0.1. We show that under the application of magnetic field the curve of the second order AF phase transitions passes into a curve of the first order ones at the tricritical point leading to a violation of the critical universality of the fluctuation theory. This change of the phase transition is generated by the fermion condensation quantum phase transition. Near the tricritical point the Landau theory of second order phase transitions is applicable and gives α?1/2. We demonstrate that this value of α is in good agreement with the specific-heat measurements.  相似文献
