We study the light propagation properties in a V-type three-level atomic system interacting with two independent broadband squeezed baths. Using the graphic method, the dependences of the absorption and the dispersion of the system on the coupling field strength, the incoherent pumping field strength and the intensity of the squeezed vacuum are analysed. The result shows that the probe pulse propagation can be changed from subluminal to superluminal speed.  相似文献

A theoretical study is made of the steady-state populations of a three-level atom in a ladder configuration, driven by a superposition of a monochromatic laser wave with a broad-band squeezed vacuum. The master equation for the system and the atomic Bloch equations are derived. The steady-state populations are calculated numerically and shown graphically as functions of two-photon detuning for various cases of the squeezed vacuum. It is shown that, the atomic populations depend strongly on the relative phase of the driving field and the squeezed vacuum. When the phase matching condition is fulfilled, there will be a strong two-photon resonant absorption from the squeezed vacuum, a characteristic different from absorption of photons from a classical field. The effects of the squeezed vacuum (SV) on the transient optical properties in a ∧-type three-level atomic medium with or without the vacuum-induced coherence (VIC) are investigated in this paper. We find that the oscillatory amplitude of the optical spectra, the transient absorption (gain), and the response time from the transient to the steady situation are remarkably dependent on the SV. When including the VIC, the transient and steady optical properties display a reverse variation with the SV. Additionally, it is interesting to find that the steady population distribution is kept at the same value for different initial conditions in the presence of SV.  相似文献

The weak probe-field absorption spectrum of a two level atom driven by a coherent pump field in a squeezed vacuum is calculated. When the squeezed light and coherent driving field are tuned to atomic resonance, the absorption spectrum of the probe field can show a linewidth smaller than the linewidth in normal vacuum.  相似文献

We present the first experimental observation of quantum fluctuation spectra in two coupled optical cavities with an injected squeezed vacuum light. The quadrature components of the reflected squeezed vacuum spectra are measured by phase-sensitive homodyne detector. The experimental results demonstrate coupled-resonator-induced transparency in the quantum regime, in which the electromagnetically-induced-transparency-like characteristic of the absorption and dispersion properties of the coupled optical cavities determines the line shape of the reflected quantum noise spectra.  相似文献

利用全量子理论,研究了非旋波近似下压缩真空场与V型三能级原子依赖强度耦合相互作用系统中光场的压缩效应.数值计算结果表明:光场呈现出周期性压缩现象,而虚光子过程则对光场的压缩具有抑制作用并产生量子噪声,量子噪声大小依赖于光场的初始压缩因子r和光场频率ω,且与原子-光场耦合强度g有关.随着r的增大,虚光子过程对光场压缩抑制作用程度由弱到强再由强到弱;随着ω和g的增大,量子噪声分别减小和增大.  相似文献

Entanglement dynamics of two non-interacting atoms in a squeezed vacuum reservoir is studied. Several examples with different initial entangled states are investigated, and it is found that entangled atoms become disentangled faster in squeezed vacuum than in ordinary vacuum, and larger squeezing results in faster entanglement decay. The time evolution of the concurrence and the separability "distance" A can be used to explain this novel entanglement sudden death phenomenon.  相似文献

The squeezed vacuum resonant on the (87)Rb D1 line (probe light) was injected into an optically dense rubidium gas cell with a coherent light (control light). The output probe light maintained its quadrature squeezing within the transparency window caused by the electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). A composite system consisting of a degenerate optical parametric oscillator (DOPO) and N two-level atoms interacting with a broadband squeezed vacuum (SV) centred at frequency cas and an input monochromatic pumping field with a frequency ωp is analysed. The corresponding explicit analytical steady-state solutions in the central mode ωp = ωs are derived, and the result displays optical bistability (OB). Storage and retrieval of a squeezed vacuum was successfully demonstrated using electromagnetically induced transparency. The squeezed vacuum pulse having a temporal width of 930 ns was incident on the laser cooled 87Rb atoms with an intense control light in a coherent state. When the squeezed vacuum pulse was slowed and spatially compressed in the cold atoms, the control light was switched off. After 3 mus of storage, the control light was switched on again, and the squeezed vacuum was retrieved, as was confirmed using the time-domain homodyne method.  相似文献

We consider a non-degenerate three-level cascade laser coupled to a two-mode squeezed vacuum reservoir via the lossy single-port mirror. Applying the pertinent master equation, we analyze the effects of the injected squeezed light on the quadrature squeezing, entanglement and normalized intensity difference fluctuations. We show that the injected squeezed light considerably enhances the degree of squeezing and entanglement in the two-mode light for certain initial conditions. Moreover, the injected squeezed light increases the mean photon number where the squeezing and entanglement is significant. We also show that the presence of the injected squeezed light greatly reduces the noise in the intensity difference.  相似文献

Critical slowing down effect in a bistable model of a two-level atomic medium in a ring cavity and in contact with squeezed vacuum field is examined within the mean field approximations in the high-, low- and arbitrary-Q cavity cases. Depending on the squeezed vacuum field phase parameter, the time response to linear perturbation of the incident field near the swtiching-on point can be enhanced or reduced compared with the normal vacuum case. In the low-Q cavity case with atomic collisional broadening switching time is both increased and become insensitive to the phase of the squeezed vacuum field. Analytical expressions are given and analysed for the critical (extermal) values of the incident field. 从主方程出发,通过解析求解密度矩阵非对角元,研究了压缩真空中Λ型三能级原子的电磁诱导透明现象(EIT).研究结果表明:EIT显著地依赖于相干光场的相位、压缩真空的压缩强度和压缩相位.Λ型三能级原子不但有电磁诱导透明和慢光速现象,而且还会表现出对探测光的增益、快光速和反向光速效应;且Λ型三能级原子对探测光场的吸收和增益与探测光强度有关,这与普通真空中不同. 关键词: 压缩真空 电磁诱导透明 增益  相似文献
