Continuity and boundary behavior of the Carathéodory metric

The boundary behavior of the higher-order Carathéodory metrics, the singular Carathéodory metric, and the Azukawa metric near anh-extendable boundary point of a bounded smooth pseudoconvex domain in ℂⁿ are studied. Boundary behaviour of invariant functions on planar domains

Precise behaviour of the Carathéodory, Kobayashi and Bergman metrics and distances near smooth boundary points of planar domains is found under various assumptions of regularity.     

A Cubic Decomposition of Sequences of Orthogonal Polynomials on the Unit Circle

In this paper we will discuss the problem of generation of sequences of orthogonal polynomials with respect to measures supported on the unit circle from a given sequence of orthogonal polynomials using a perturbation of a cubic sieved process. The basic tools are the Szeg? forward recurrence relation as well as the fact of the coprimality of orthogonal polynomials on the unit circle and their corresponding reverse polynomials. We also give the connection between the associated orthogonality measures. Finally, some examples of this cubic decomposition are shown.     

The Magic Functions and Automorphisms of a Domain

We introduce the notion of magic functions of a general domain in and show that the set of magic functions of a given domain is an intrinsic complex-geometric object. We determine the set of magic functions of the symmetrised bidisc G and thereby find all automorphisms of G and a formula for the Carathéodory distance on G. Submitted: August 31, 2007. Uniqueness of smooth radial balanced metrics on the disc

We show that the usual Poincaré metric is the only radial balanced metric on the disc with not too wild boundary behaviour. Additionally, we identify explicitly all radial metrics with such boundary behaviour which satisfy the balanced condition as far as germs at the boundary are concerned. Related results for the annulus and the punctured disc are also established.     

The equivalence on classical metrics

In this paper we study the complete invariant metrics on Cartan-Hartogs domains which are the special types of Hua domains. Firstly, we introduce a class of new complete invariant metrics on these domains, and prove that these metrics are equivalent to the Bergman metric. Secondly, the Ricci curvatures under these new metrics are bounded from above and below by the negative constants. Thirdly, we estimate the holomorphic sectional curvatures of the new metrics, and prove that the holomorphic sectional curvatures are bounded from above and below by the negative constants. Finally, by using these new metrics and Yau's Schwarz lemma we prove that the new metrics are equivalent to the Einstein-Kahler metric. That means that the Yau's conjecture is true on Cartan-Hartogs domains.     

Wall Rational Functions and Khrushchev’s Formula for Orthogonal Rational Functions

The Nevalinna–Pick algorithm yields a continued fraction expansion of every Schur function, whose approximants are identified. These approximants are quotients of rational functions which can be understood as the rational analogs of the Wall polynomials. The properties of these Wall rational functions and the corresponding approximants permit us to obtain a Khrushchev’s formula for orthogonal rational functions. An introduction to the convergence of the Wall approximants in the indeterminate case is presented. Estimates of the Carathéodory metric on the symmetrized polydisc

Estimates for the Carathéodory metric on the symmetrized polydisc are obtained. It is also shown that the Carathéodory and Kobayashi distances of the symmetrized three-disc do not coincide.     

Heat kernels and regularity for rough metrics on smooth manifolds

We consider rough metrics on smooth manifolds and corresponding Laplacians induced by such metrics. We demonstrate that globally continuous heat kernels exist and are Hölder continuous locally in space and time. This is done via local parabolic Harnack estimates for weak solutions of operators in divergence form with bounded measurable coefficients in weighted Sobolev spaces.     

Very Colorful Theorems

We prove several colorful generalizations of classical theorems in discrete geometry. Moreover, the colorful generalization of Kirchberger’s theorem gives a generalization of the theorem of Tverberg on non-separated partitions.
