This paper deals with two parallel processors interacting only during breakdown. The system is analyzed in the case where the load is not lost, and in steady state. Singularly perturbed initial boundary value problems are studied for some classes of linear systems of ordinary differential equations on the semiaxis with an unbounded spectrum of the limit operator. We give a new version of the proof of the existence of a unique and bounded (as ε→+0) solution for which with the help of the splitting method we construct a uniform asymptotic expansion on the entire semiaxis and describe all singularities (reflecting the structure of the corresponding boundary layers) in closed analytic form, including the critical case in which the points of the spectrum of the limit operator can touch the imaginary axis; this supplements previous results. The paper is devoted to the study of solutions to linear elliptic boundary value problems in domains depending smoothly on a small perturbation parameter. To this end we transform the boundary value problem onto a fixed reference domain and obtain a problem in a fixed domain but with differential operators depending on the perturbation parameter. Using the Fredholm property of the underlying operator we show the differentiability of the transformed solution under the assumption that the dimension of the kernel does not depend on the perturbation parameter. Given an open bounded connected subset Ω of ℝn, we consider the overdetermined boundary value problem obtained by adding both zero Dirichlet and constant Neumann boundary data to the elliptic equation −div(A(|∇u|)∇u)=1 in Ω. We prove that, if this problem admits a solution in a suitable weak sense, then Ω is a ball. This is obtained under fairly general assumptions on Ω and A. In particular, A may be degenerate and no growth condition is required. Our method of proof is quite simple. It relies on a maximum principle for a suitable P-function, combined with some geometric arguments involving the mean curvature of ∂Ω. 相似文献

The main aim of the paper is the study of essential spectra of electromagnetic Schrödinger operators with variable potentials in cylindric domains , where is a bounded domain with a smooth boundary provided by admissible boundary conditions. Applying the limit operators method, we obtain explicit estimates of the essential spectrum for a wide class of quantum waveguides. We also consider a numerical example of calculations of the discrete spectrum of horizontally stratified quantum waveguides applying a method of the decomposition of solutions of spectral problems for one‐dimensional Schrödinger operators as a power series with respect to the spectral parameter. In this article, we introduce the concept of demicompactness with respect to a closed densely defined linear operator, as a generalization of the class of demicompact operator introduced by Petryshyn in [24] and we establish some new results in Fredholm theory. Moreover, we apply the obtained results to discuss the incidence of some perturbation results on the behavior of relative essential spectra of unbounded linear operators acting on Banach spaces. The first three-dimensional boundary value problem is considered for the basic equations of statics of the elastic mixture theory in the finite and infinite domains bounded by the closed surfaces. It is proved that this problem splits into two problems whose investigation is reduced to the first boundary value problem for an elliptic equation which structurally coincides with an equation of statics of an isotropic elastic body. Using the potential method and the theory of Fredholm integral equations of second kind, the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the first boundary value problem is proved for the split equation. 相似文献
