遗传算法、差分演化和一个处理约束的映射

S.Koziel和Z.Michalewicz(1999年)提出了一个处理约束的映射,研究该映射与不同算法相结合后的不同的代数结构.从理论上证明了当其与遗传算法相结合时,该映射是同构映射,而在差分演化算法的变异操作下,该映射不是同态映射,更不是同构映射.进而表明,该映射更适宜于与遗传算法相结合,而并不太适宜于与差分演化算法(及其类似的算法)相结合。     

On the isomorphism problem in the class of extensions of a free group by an infinite cyclic group

In the automorphism group of a rank 3 free group we find two nonconjugate automorphisms whose mapping tori are isomorphic groups.     

Trivializable rings of sets

In the present paper, we examine the ways in which rings of sets can be generated by as simple systems as possible. We investigate rings of sets which can be generated by totally ordered subsystems. All totally ordered systems which generate the same ring are, in essence, isomorphic. This fact leads to an order-theoretic classification of rings of sets. Every group-valued mapping defined on a totally ordered system of sets can be uniquely extended to an additive mapping on the ring of sets generated by the system. Two rings of sets are of the same order type if and only if the corresponding spaces of measures are isomorphic.     

BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEM FOR DEGENERATE AND SINGULAR p-LAPLACIAN SYSTEMS

In this article, using the contraction mapping principle and the shooting method, the authors obtain the existence and uniqueness of the local solution and the global solution to a class of quasilinear elliptic systems with p-Laplacian as its principal.They also obtain the continuous dependence of the solutions on the boundary data.     

A combination theorem for Veech subgroups of the mapping class group

In this paper we prove a combination theorem for Veech subgroups of the mapping class group analogous to the first Klein–Maskit combination theorem for Kleinian groups in which two Fuchsian subgroups are amalgamated along a parabolic subgroup. As a corollary, we construct subgroups of the mapping class group (for all genera at least 2), which are isomorphic to non-abelian closed surface groups in which all but one conjugacy class (up to powers) is pseudo-Anosov. Upper Semicontinuity of the Feasible Set Mapping for Linear Inequality Systems

In this paper we characterize the upper semicontinuity of the feasible set mapping at a consistent linear semi-infinite system (LSIS, in brief). In our context, no standard hypothesis is required in relation to the set indexing the constraints and, consequently, the functional dependence between the linear constraints and their associated indices has no special property. We consider, as parameter space, the set of all LSIS having the same index set, endowed with an extended metric to measure the size of the perturbations. We introduce the concept of reinforced system associated with our nominal system. Then, the upper semicontinuity property of the feasible set mapping at the nominal system is characterized looking at the feasible sets of both systems. The fact that this characterization depends only on the nominal system, not involving systems in a neighbourhood, is remarkable. We also provide a necessary and sufficient condition for the aimed property exclusively in terms of the coefficients of the system.     

On Finite Nonabelian Loop Capable Groups

We say that groups, which are isomorphic to inner mapping groups of finite loops, are loop capable. Let p and q be distinct prime numbers, S a nonabelian group of order pq, and C a finite nontrivial cyclic group such that gcd (|S|, |C|) = 1. We show that the group S × C is not loop capable.     

On the domain dependence of the inf-sup and related constants via conformal mapping

In this paper we investigate the domain dependence of the inf-sup stability constant in the family of two-dimensional simply connected domains using its connection to the optimal constant figuring in Friedrichs? inequality for conjugate harmonic functions and the conformal mapping of the domain. A lower estimation of the inf-sup constant is also given in terms of the conformal mapping provided the boundary of the domain is smooth enough. We illustrate the results with several examples.

A pseudospectral mapping theorem

The pseudospectrum has become an important quantity for analyzing stability of nonnormal systems. In this paper, we prove a mapping theorem for pseudospectra, extending an earlier result of Trefethen. Our result consists of two relations that are sharp and contains the spectral mapping theorem as a special case. Necessary and sufficient conditions for these relations to collapse to an equality are demonstrated. The theory is valid for bounded linear operators on Banach spaces. For normal matrices, a special version of the pseudospectral mapping theorem is also shown to be sharp. Some numerical examples illustrate the theory.
