The Sz.-Nagy-FoiaŞ functional model for completely non-unitary contractions is extended to completely non-coisometric sequences of bounded operatorsT = (T1,...,T d) (d finite or infinite) on a Hilbert space, with bounded characteristic functions. For this class of sequences, it is shown that the characteristic function θT is a complete unitary invariant. We obtain, as the main result, necessary and sufficient conditions for a bounded multi-analytic operator on Fock spaces to coincide with the characteristic function associated with a completely non-coisometric sequence of bounded operators on a Hilbert space. This paper is devoted to the question to obtain (algebraic and topologic) equivalence (after extension) relations between convolution type operators on unions of intervals and convolution type operators on the half-line. These operators are supposed to act between Bessel potential spaces,H s,p , which are the appropriate spaces in several applications. The present approach is based upon special properties of convenient projectors, decompositions and extension operators and the construction of certain homeomorphisms between the kernels of the projectors. The main advantage of the method is that it provides explicit operator matrix identities between the mentioned operators where the relations are constructed only by bounded invertible operators. So they are stronger than the (algebraic) Kuijper-Spitkovsky relation and the Bastos-dos Santos-Duduchava relation with respect to the transfer of properties on the prize that the relations depend on the orders of the spaces and hold only for non-critical orders:S – 1/p . For instance, (generalized) inverses of the operators are explicitly represented in terms of operator matrix factorization. We establish Fredholm criteria and index formulas for one-dimensional zero-order pseudodifferential operators with piecewise continuous generating functions onL p spaces with Muckenhoupt weights. The Fredholm symbol of such operators is shown to be a matrix function defined on a set which, roughly speaking, is a cylinder with a certain collection of horn shaped handles. The presence of these horns implies that, unlike the case ofL p spaces without weight or with so-called power weights, the spectrum may contain heavy parts, i. e. the set of the interior points of the spectrum need not be empty. We present an effective algorithm for estimating the norm of an operator mapping a low-dimensional ?p space to a Banach space with an easily computable norm. We use that algorithm to show that Matsaev’s proposed extension of the inequality of John von Neumann is false in case p=4. We study hypercyclicity and supercyclicity of weighted shifts on ℓ, with respect to the weak * topology. We show that there exist bilateral shifts that are weak * hypercyclic but fail to be weak * sequentially hypercyclic. In the unilateral case, a shift T is weak * hypercyclic if and only if it is weak * sequentially hypercyclic, and this is equivalent to T being either norm, weak, or weak-sequentially hypercyclic on c0 or ℓp (1 ≤ p < ∞). We also show that the set of weak * hypercyclic vectors of any unilateral or bilateral shift on ℓ is norm nowhere dense. Finally, we show that ℓ supports an isometry that is weak * sequentially supercyclic.  相似文献

We consider Toeplitz operators with piecewise continuous symbols and singular integral operators with piecewise continuous coefficients onL p (,w) where 1<p<,w is a Muckenhoupt weight and belongs to a large class of Carleson curves. This class includes curves with corners and cusps as well as curves that look locally like two logarithmic spirals scrolling up at the same point. Our main result says that the essential spectrum of a Toeplitz operator is obtained from the essential range of its symbol by joining the endpoints of each jump by a certain spiralic horn, which may degenerate to a usual horn, a logarithmic spiral, a circular arc or a line segment if the curve and the weightw behave sufficiently well at the point where the symbol has a jump. In 1993, Y. A. Abramovich, C. D. Aliprantis and O. Burkinshaw showed that every continuous operator with modulus on an lp-space (1 ≤ p < ∞) whose modulus commutes with a non-zero positive operator T on lp that is quasinilpotent at a non-zero positive vector x0 has a non-trivial invariant closed subspace. In this paper, it is proved that if is a collection of continuous operators with moduli on lp that is finitely modulus-quasinilpotent at a non-zero positive vector x 0 then and its right modulus sub-commutant have a common non-trivial invariant closed subspace. In particular, all continuous operators with moduli on l p whose moduli commute with a non-zero positive operator I on l p that is quasinilpotent at a non-zero positive vector x 0 have a common non-trivial invariant closed subspace, so that all positive operators on l p which commute with a non-zero positive operator S on l p that is quasinilpotent at a non-zero positive vector x 0 have a common non-trivial invariant closed subspace. Summary Recently, Galerkin and collocation methods have been analyzed for boundary integral equation formulations of some potential problems in the plane with nonlinear boundary conditions, and stability results and error estimates in theH 1/2-norm have been proved (Ruotsalainen and Wendland, and Ruotsalainen and Saranen). We show that these results extend toL p setting without any extra conditions. These extensions are proved by studying the uniform boundedness of the inverses of the linearized integral operators, and then considering the nonlinear equations. The fact that inH 1/2 setting the nonlinear operator is a homeomorphism with Lipschitz continuous inverse plays a crucial role. Optimal error estimates for the Galerkin and collocation method inL p space then follow.This research was performed while the second author was visiting professor at the University of Delaware, spring 1989  相似文献

Abstract

Prior to investigating on sequence spaces and their convergence, we study the notion of statistical convergence of difference sequences of fractional order α ∈ ?. As generalizations of previous works, this study includes several special cases under different limiting conditions of α, such as the notion of statistical convergence of difference sequences of zeroth and mth (integer) order. In fact, we study certain new results on statistical convergence via the difference operator Δα and interpret them to those of previous works. Also, by using the convergence of Δα-summable sequences which is stronger than statistical convergence of difference sequences, we apply classical Bernstein operator and a generalized form of Meyer-Konig and Zeller operator to construct an example in support of our result. Also, we study the rates of Δα-statistical convergence of positive linear operators.  相似文献

Given aL1(R) and the generator A of an L1-integrable resolvent family of linear bounded operators defined on a Banach space X, we prove the existence of compact almost automorphic solutions of the semilinear integral equation for each f:R×XX compact almost automorphic in t, for each xX, and satisfying Lipschitz and Hölder type conditions.
