The reaction of [N(PPh(3))(2)][CpCo(CN)(3)] and [Cb*Co(NCMe)(3)]PF(6) (Cb* = C(4)Me(4)) in the presence of K(+) afforded {K subset[CpCo(CN)(3)](4)[Cb*Co](4)}PF(6), [KCo(8)]PF(6). IR, NMR, ESI-MS indicate that [KCo(8)]PF(6) is a high-symmetry molecular box containing a potassium ion at its interior. The analogous heterometallic cage {K subset[Cp*Rh(CN)(3)](4)[Cb*Co](4)}PF(6) ([KRh(4)Co(4)]PF(6)) was prepared similarly via the condensation of K[Cp*Rh(CN)(3)] and [Cb*Co(NCMe)(3)]PF(6). Crystallographic analysis confirmed the structure of [KCo(8)]PF(6). The cyanide ligands are ordered, implying that no Co-CN bonds are broken upon cage formation and ion complexation. Eight Co-CN-Co edges of the box bow inward toward the encapsulated K(+), and the remaining four mu-CN ligands bow outward. MeCN solutions of [KCo(8)](+) and [KRh(4)Co(4)](+) were found to undergo ion exchange with Cs(+) to give [CsCo(8)](+) and [CsRh(4)Co(4)](+), both in quantitative yields. Labeling experiments involving [(MeC5H4)Co(CN)(3)]- demonstrated that Cs(+)-for-K(+) ion exchange is accompanied by significant fragmentation. Ion exchange of NH(4+) with [KCo(8)](+) proceeds to completion in THF solution, but in MeCN solution, the exclusive products were [Cb*Co(NCMe)(3)]PF(6) and the poorly soluble salt NH(4)CpCo(CN)(3). The lability of the NH(4+)-containing cage was also indicated by the rapid exchange of the acidic protons in [NH(4)Co(8)](+). Oxidation of [MCo(8)](+) with 4 equiv of FcPF(6) produced paramagnetic (S = 4/2) [Co(8)](4+), releasing Cs(+) or K(+). The oxidation-induced dissociation of M(+) from the cages is chemically reversed by treatment of [Co(8)](4+) and CsOTf with 4 equiv of Cp(2)Co. Cation recognition by [Co(8)] and [Rh(4)Co(4)] cages was investigated. Electrochemical measurements indicated that E(1/2)(Cs(+))--E(1/2)(K(+)) approximately 0.08 V for [MCo(8)](+).  相似文献

A series of heptametallic cyanide cages are described; they represent soluble analogues of defect-containing cyanometalate solid-state polymers. Reaction of 0.75 equiv of [Cp*Ru(NCMe)3]PF6, Et(4)N[Cp*Rh(CN)3], and 0.25 equiv of CsOTf in MeCN solution produced (Cs subset [CpCo(CN)3]4[Cp*Ru]3)(Cs subset Rh4Ru3). 1H and 133Cs NMR measurements show that Cs subset Rh4Ru3 exists as a single Cs isomer. In contrast, (Cs subset [CpCo(CN)3]4[Cp*Ru]3) (Cs subset Co4Ru3), previously lacking crystallographic characterization, adopts both Cs isomers in solution. In situ ESI-MS studies on the synthesis of Cs subset Rh4Ru3 revealed two Cs-containing intermediates, Cs subset Rh2Ru2+ (1239 m/z) and Cs subset Rh3Ru3+ (1791 m/z), which underscore the participation of Cs+ in the mechanism of cage formation. 133Cs NMR shifts for the cages correlated with the number of CN groups bound to Cs+: Cs subset Co4Ru4+ (delta 1 vs delta 34 for CsOTf), Cs subset Rh4Ru3 where Cs+ is surrounded by ten CN ligands (delta 91), Cs subset Co4Ru3, which consists of isomers with 11 and 10 pi-bonded CNs (delta 42 and delta 89, respectively). Although (K subset [Cp*Rh(CN)3]4[Cp*Ru]3) could not be prepared, (NH4 subset [Cp*Rh(CN)3]4[Cp*Ru]3) (NH4 subset Rh4Ru3) forms readily by NH4+-template cage assembly. IR and NMR measurements indicate that NH4+ binding is weak and that the site symmetry is low. CsOTf quantitatively and rapidly converts NH4 subset Rh4Ru3 into Cs subset Rh4Ru3, demonstrating the kinetic advantages of the M7 cages as ion receptors. Crystallographic characterization of CsCo4Ru3 revealed that it crystallizes in the Cs-(exo)1(endo)2 isomer. In addition to the nine mu-CN ligands, two CN(t) ligands are pi-bonded to Cs+. M subset Rh4Ru3 (M = NH4, Cs) crystallizes as the second Cs isomer, that is, (exo)2(endo)1, wherein only one CN(t) ligand interacts with the included cation. The distorted framework of NH4 subset Rh4Ru3 reflects the smaller ionic radius of NH4+. The protons of NH4+ were located crystallographically, allowing precise determination of the novel NH4...CN interaction. A competition experiment between calix[4]arene-bis(benzocrown-6) and NH4 subset Rh4Ru3 reveals NH4 subset Rh4Ru3 has a higher affinity for cesium.  相似文献

Three-dimensional network structures of [Ru(II/III)(2)(O(2)CMe)(4)](3)[M(III)(CN)(6)] (M = Cr, Fe, Co) composition have been formed and their magnetic properties characterized. [Ru(II/III)(2)(O(2)CMe)(4)](3)[M(III)(CN)(6)] (M = Cr, Fe, Co) have nu(CN) IR absorptions at 2138, 2116, and 2125 cm(-1) and have body-centered unit cells (a = 13.34, 13.30, and 13.10 A, respectively) with -M-Ctbd1;N-Ru=Ru-Ntbd1;C-M- linkages along all three Cartesian axes. [Ru(II/III)(2)(O(2)CMe)(4)](3)[Cr(III)(CN)(6)] magnetically orders as a ferrimagnet (T(c) = 33 K) and has an unusual constricted hysteresis loop.  相似文献

The syntheses, crystal structures determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and characterizations of new Mo(6) cluster chalcobromides and cyano-substituted compounds with 24 valence electrons per Mo(6) cluster (VEC = 24), are presented in this work. The structures of Cs(4)Mo(6)Br(12)S(2) and Cs(4)Mo(6)Br(12)Se(2) prepared by solid state routes are based on the novel [(Mo(6)Br(i)(6)Y(i)(2))Br(a)(6)](4)(-) (Y = S, Se) discrete units in which two chalcogen and six bromine ligands randomly occupy the inner positions, while the six apical ones are fully occupied by bromine atoms. The interaction of these two compounds with aqueous KCN solution results in apical ligand exchange giving the two first Mo(6) cyano-chalcohalides: Cs(0.4)K(0.6)(Et(4)N)(11)[(Mo(6)Br(6)S(2))(CN)(6)](3).16H(2)O and Cs(0.4)K(0.6)(Et(4)N)(11)[(Mo(6)Br(6)Se(2))(CN)(6)](3).16H(2)O. Their crystal structures, built from the original [(Mo(6)Br(i)(6)Y(i)(2))(CN)(a)(6)](4)(-) discrete units, will be compared to those of the two solid state precursors and other previously reported Mo(6) cluster compounds. Their redox properties and (77)Se NMR characterizations will be presented. Crystal data: Cs(4)Mo(6)Br(12)S(2), orthorhombic, Pbca (No. 61), a = 11.511(5) A, b = 18.772(5) A, c = 28.381 A (5), Z = 8; Cs(4)Mo(6)Br(12)Se(2), Pbca (No. 61), a = 11.6237(1) A, b = 18.9447(1) A, c = 28.4874(1) A, Z = 8; Cs(0.4)K(0.6)(Et(4)N)(11)[(Mo(6)Br(6)S(2))(CN)(6)](3).16H(2)O, Pm-3m (No. 221), a = 17.1969(4) A, Z = 1; Cs(0.4)K(0.6)(Et(4)N)(11)[(Mo(6)Br(6)Se(2))(CN)(6)](3).16H(2)O, Pm-3m (No. 221), a = 17.235(5) A, Z = 1.  相似文献

X-ray crystal structures are reported for the following complexes: [Ru(2)Cl(3)(tacn)(2)](PF(6))(2).4H(2)O (tacn = 1,4,7-triazacyclononane), monoclinic P2(1)/n, Z = 4, a = 14.418(8) ?, b = 11.577(3) ?, c = 18.471(1) ?, beta = 91.08(5) degrees, V = 3082 ?(3), R(R(w)) = 0.039 (0.043) using 4067 unique data with I > 2.5sigma(I) at 293 K; [Ru(2)Br(3)(tacn)(2)](PF(6))(2).2H(2)O, monoclinic P2(1)/a, Z = 4, a = 13.638(4) ?, b = 12.283(4) ?, c = 18.679(6) ?, beta = 109.19(2) degrees, V = 3069.5 ?(3), R(R(w)) = 0.052 (0.054) using 3668 unique data with I > 2.5sigma(I) at 293 K; [Ru(2)I(3)(tacn)(2)](PF(6))(2), cubic P2(1)/3, Z = 3, a = 14.03(4) ?, beta = 90.0 degrees, V = 2763.1(1) ?(3), R (R(w)) = 0.022 (0.025) using 896 unique data with I > 2.5sigma(I) at 293 K. All of the cations have cofacial bioctahedral geometries, although [Ru(2)Cl(3)(tacn)(2)](PF(6))(2).4H(2)O, [Ru(2)Br(3)(tacn)(2)](PF(6))(2).2H(2)O, and [Ru(2)I(3)(tacn)(2)](PF(6))(2) are not isomorphous. Average bond lengths and angles for the cofacial bioctahedral cores, [N(3)Ru(&mgr;-X)(3)RuN(3)](2+), are compared to those for the analogous ammine complexes [Ru(2)Cl(3)(NH(3))(6)](BPh(4))(2) and [Ru(2)Br(3)(NH(3))(6)](ZnBr(4)). The Ru-Ru distances in the tacn complexes are longer than those in the equivalent ammine complexes, probably as a result of steric interactions.  相似文献

A cyanide-bridged molecular square of [Ru(II) (2)Fe(II) (2)(mu-CN)(4)(bpy)(8)](PF(6))(4).CHCl(3).H(2)O, abbreviated as [Ru(II) (2)Fe(II) (2)](PF(6))(4), has been synthesised and electrochemically generated mixed-valence states have been studied by spectroelectrochemical methods. The complex cation of [Ru(II) (2)Fe(II) (2)](4+) is nearly a square and is composed of alternate Ru(II) and Fe(II) ions bridged by four cyanide ions. The cyclic voltammogram (CV) of [Ru(II) (2)Fe(II) (2)](PF(6))(4) in acetonitrile showed four quasireversible waves at 0.69, 0.94, 1.42 and 1.70 V (vs. SSCE), which correspond to the four one-electron redox processes of [Ru(II) (2)Fe(II) (2)](4+) right arrow over left arrow [Ru(II) (2)Fe(II)Fe(III)] (5+) right arrow over left arrow [Ru(II) (2)Fe(III) (2)](6+) right arrow over left arrow [Ru(II)Ru(III)Fe(III) (2)](7+) right arrow over left arrow [Ru(III) (2)Fe(III) (2)](8+). Electrochemically generated [Ru(II) (2)Fe(II)Fe(III)](5+) and [Ru(II) (2)Fe(III) (2)](6+) showed new absorption bands at 2350 nm (epsilon =5500 M(-1) cm(-1)) and 1560 nm (epsilon =10 500 M(-1) cm(-1)), respectively, which were assigned to the intramolecular IT (intervalence transfer) bands from Fe(II) to Fe(III) and from Ru(II) to Fe(III) ions, respectively. The electronic interaction matrix elements (H(AB)) and the degrees of electronic delocalisation (alpha(2)) were estimated to be 1090 cm(-1) and 0.065 for the [Ru(II) (2)Fe(II)Fe(III) (2)](5+) state and 1990 cm(-1) and 0.065 for the [Ru(II) (2)Fe(III) (2)](6+) states.  相似文献

Reactions of a dirhenium tetra(sulfido) complex [PPh(4)](2)[ReS(L)(mu-S)(2)ReS(L)] (L = S(2)C(2)(SiMe(3))(2)) with a series of group 8-11 metal complexes in MeCN at room temperature afforded either the cubane-type clusters [M(2)(ReL)(2)(mu(3)-S)(4)] (M = CpRu (2), PtMe(3), Cu(PPh(3)) (4); Cp = eta(5)-C(5)Me(5)) or the incomplete cubane-type clusters [M(ReL)(2)(mu(3)-S)(mu(2)-S)(3)] (M = (eta(6)-C(6)HMe(5))Ru (5), CpRh (6), CpIr (7)), depending on the nature of the metal complexes added. It has also been disclosed that the latter incomplete cubane-type clusters can serve as the good precursors to the trimetallic cubane-type clusters still poorly precedented. Thus, treatment of 5-7 with a range of metal complexes in THF at room temperature resulted in the formation of novel trimetallic cubane-type clusters, including the neutral clusters [[(eta(6)-C(6)HMe(5))Ru][W(CO)(3)](ReL)(2)(mu(3)-S)(4)], [(CpM)[W(CO)(3)](ReL)(2)(mu(3)-S)(4)] (M = Rh, Ir), [(Cp*Ir)[Mo(CO)(3)](ReL)(2)(mu(3)-S)(4)], [[(eta(6)-C(6)HMe(5))Ru][Pd(PPh(3))](ReL)(2)(mu(3)-S)(4)], and [(Cp*Ir)[Pd(PPh(3))](ReL)(2)(mu(3)-S)(4)] (13) along with the cationic clusters [(Cp*Ir)(CpRu)(ReL)(2)(mu(3)-S)(4)][PF(6)] (14) and [(Cp*Ir)[Rh(cod)](ReL)(2)(mu(3)-S)(4)][PF(6)] (cod = 1,5-cyclooctadiene). The X-ray analyses have been carried out for 2, 4, 7, 13, and the SbF(6) analogue of 14 (14') to confirm their bimetallic cubane-type, bimetallic incomplete cubane-type, or trimetallic cubane-type structures. Fluxional behavior of the incomplete cubane-type and trimetallic cubane-type clusters in solutions has been demonstrated by the variable-temperature (1)H NMR studies, which is ascribable to both the metal-metal bond migration in the cluster cores and the pseudorotation of the dithiolene ligand bonded to the square pyramidal Re centers, where the temperatures at which these processes proceed have been found to depend upon the nature of the metal centers included in the cluster cores.  相似文献

The generation of heterobimetallic complexes with two or three bridging sulfido ligands from mononuclear tris(sulfido) complex of tungsten [Et(4)N][(Me(2)Tp)WS(3)] (1; Me(2)Tp = hydridotris(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)borate) and organometallic precursors is reported. Treatment of 1 with stoichiometric amounts of metal complexes such as [M(PPh(3))(4)] (M = Pt, Pd), [(PtMe(3))(4)(micro(3)-I)(4)], [M(cod)(PPh(3))(2)][PF(6)] (M = Ir, Rh; cod = 1,5-cyclooctadiene), [Rh(cod)(dppe)][PF(6)] (dppe = Ph(2)PCH(2)CH(2)PPh(2)), [CpIr(MeCN)(3)][PF(6)](2) (Cp = eta(5)-C(5)Me(5)), [CpRu(MeCN)(3)][PF(6)], and [M(CO)(3)(MeCN)(3)] (M = Mo, W) in MeCN or MeCN-THF at room temperature afforded either the doubly bridged complexes [Et(4)N][(Me(2)Tp)W(=S)(micro-S)(2)M(PPh(3))] (M = Pt (3), Pd (4)), [(Me(2)Tp)W(=S)(micro-S)(2)M(cod)] (M = Ir, Rh (7)), [(Me(2)Tp)W(=S)(micro-S)(2)Rh(dppe)], [(Me(2)Tp)W(=S)(micro-S)(2)RuCp] (10), and [Et(4)N][(Me(2)Tp)W(=S)(micro-S)(2)W(CO)(3)] (12) or the triply bridged complexes including [(Me(2)Tp)W(micro-S)(3)PtMe(3)] (5), [(Me(2)Tp)W(micro-S)(3)IrCp][PF(6)] (9), and [Et(4)N][(Me(2)Tp)W(micro-S)(3)Mo(CO)(3)] (11), depending on the nature of the incorporated metal fragment. The X-ray analyses have been undertaken to clarify the detailed structures of 3-5, 7, and 9-12.  相似文献

The neutral, monocationic, and dicationic linear trinuclear ruthenium compounds [Ru(3)(dpa)(4)(CN)(2)], [Ru(3)(dpa)(4)(CN)(2)][BF(4)], [Ru(3)(dpa)(4)Cl(2)][BF(4)], and [Ru(3)(dpa)(4)Cl(2)][BF(4)](2) (dpa=the anion of dipyridylamine) have been synthesized and characterized by various spectroscopic techniques. Cyclic voltammetric and spectroelectrochemical studies on the neutral and oxidized compounds are reported. These compounds undergo three successive metal-centered one-electron-transfer processes. X-ray structural studies reveal a symmetrical Ru(3) unit for these compounds. While the metal--metal bond lengths change only slightly, the metal--axial ligand lengths exhibit a significant decrease upon oxidation of the neutral complex. The electronic configuration of the Ru(3) unit changes as the axial chloride ligands are replaced by the stronger "pi-acid" cyanide axial ligands. Magnetic measurements and (1)H NMR spectra indicate that [Ru(3)(dpa)(4)Cl(2)] and [Ru(3)(dpa)(4)Cl(2)][BF(4)](2) are in a spin state of S=0 and [Ru(3)(dpa)(4)Cl(2)][BF(4)], [Ru(3)(dpa)(4)(CN)(2)], and [Ru(3)(dpa)(4)(CN)(2)][BF(4)] are in spin states of S=1/2, 1, and 3/2, respectively. These results are consistent with molecular orbital (MO) calculations.  相似文献

The reactions of Ti with in situ formed polythiophosphate fluxes of A(2)S(3) (A = Rb, Cs), P(2)S(5), and S at 500 degrees C result in the formation of two new quaternary titanium thiophosphates with compositions Rb(3)Ti(3)(P(4)S(13))(PS(4))(3) (1) and Cs(2)Ti(2)(P(2)S(8))(PS(4))(2) (2). Rb(3)Ti(3)(P(4)S(13))(PS(4))(3) (1) crystallizes in the chiral hexagonal space group P6(3) (No. 173) with lattice parameters a = 18.2475(9) Angstrom, c = 6.8687(3) Angstrom, V = 1980.7(2) Angstrom(3), Z = 2. Cs(2)Ti(2)(P(2)S(8))(PS(4))(2) (2) crystallizes in the noncentrosymmetric monoclinic space group Cc (No. 9) with a = 21.9709(14) Angstrom, b = 6.9093(3) Angstrom, c = 17.1489(10) Angstrom, beta = 98.79(1) degrees, V = 2572.7(2) Angstrom(3), Z = 4. In the structure of 1 TiS(6) octahedra, three [PS(4)] tetrahedra, and the hitherto unknown [P(4)S(13)](6-) anion are joined to form two different types of helical chains. These chains are connected yielding two different helical tunnels being directed along [001]. The tunnels are occupied by the Rb+ ions. The [P(4)S(13)](6-) anion is generated by three [PS(4)] tetrahedra sharing corners with one [PS(4)] group in the center of the starlike anion. The P atoms of the three [PS(4)] tetrahedra attached to the central [PS(4)] group define an equilateral triangle. The [P(4)S(13)](6-) anion may be regarded as a new member of the [P(n)S(3n+1)]((n+2)-) series. The structure of Cs(2)Ti(2)(P(2)S(8))(PS(4))(2) (2) consists of the one-dimensional polar tunnels containing the Cs(+) cations. The rare [P(2)S(8)](4-) anion which is composed of two [PS(4)] tetrahedra joined by a S(2)(2-) anion is a fundamental building unit in the structure of 2. One-dimensional undulated chains being directed along [100] are joined by [PS(4)] tetrahedra to form the three-dimensional network with polar tunnels running along [010]. The compounds are characterized with IR, Raman spectroscopy, and UV/vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy.  相似文献

Two new dinucleating ligands 1,2,4,5-tetrakis(2-pyridinecarboxamido)benzene, H(4)(tpb), and 1,2,4,5-tetrakis(4-tert-butyl-2-pyridinecarboxamido)benzene, H(4)(tbpb), have been synthesized, and the following dinuclear cyano complexes of cobalt(III) and iron(III) have been isolated: Na(2)[Co(III)(2)(tpb)(CN)(4)] (1); [N(n-Bu)(4)](2)[Co(III)(2)(tbpb)(CN)(4)] (2); [Co(III)(2)(tbpb(ox2))(CN)(4)] (3); [N(n-Bu)(4)](2)[Fe(III)(2)(tpb)(N(3))(4)] (4); [N(n-Bu)(4)](2)[Fe(III)(2)(tpb)(CN)(4)] (5); [N(n-Bu)(4)](2)[Fe(III)(2)(tbpb)(CN)(4)] (6). Complexes 2-4 and 6 have been structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography at 100 K. From electrochemical and spectroscopic (UV-vis, IR, EPR, M?ssbauer) and magnetochemical investigations it is established that the coordinated central 1,2,4,5-tetraamidobenzene entity in the cyano complexes can be oxidized in two successive one-electron steps yielding paramagnetic (tbpb(ox1))(3)(-) and diamagnetic (tbpb(ox2))(2)(-) anions. Thus, complex 6 exists in five characterized oxidation levels: [Fe(III)(2)(tbpb(ox2))(CN)(4)](0) (S = 0); [Fe(III)(2)(tbpb(ox1))(CN)(4)](-) (S = (1)/(2)); [Fe(III)(2)(tbpb)(CN)(4)](2)(-) (S = 0); [Fe(III)Fe(II)(tbpb)(CN)(4)](3)(-) (S = (1)/(2)); [Fe(II)(2)(tbpb)(CN)(4)](4)(-) (S = 0). The iron(II) and (III) ions are always low-spin configurated. The electronic structure of the paramagnetic iron(III) ions and the exchange interaction of the three-spin system [Fe(III)(2)(tbpb(ox1))(CN)(4)](-) are characterized in detail. Similarly, for 2 three oxidation levels have been identified and fully characterized: [Co(III)(2)(tbpb)(CN)(4)](2)(-) (S = 0); [Co(III)(2)(tbpb(ox1))(CN)(4)](-) (S = (1)/(2)); [Co(III)(2)(tbpb(ox2))(CN)(4)](0). The crystal structures of 2 and 3 clearly show that the two electron oxidation of 2 yielding 3 affects only the central tetraamidobenzene part of the ligand.  相似文献

Mononuclear ruthenium complexes [RuCl(L1)(CH(3)CN)(2)](PF(6)) (2a), [RuCl(L2)(CH(3)CN)(2)](PF(6)) (2b), [Ru(L1)(CH(3)CN)(3)](PF(6))(2) (4a), [Ru(L2)(CH(3)CN)(3)](PF(6))(2) (4b), [Ru(L2)(2)](PF(6))(2) (5), [RuCl(L1)(CH(3)CN)(PPh(3))](PF(6)) (6), [RuCl(L1)(CO)(2)](PF(6)) (7), and [RuCl(L1)(CO)(PPh(3))](PF(6)) (8), and a tetranuclear complex [Ru(2)Ag(2)Cl(2)(L1)(2)(CH(3)CN)(6)](PF(6))(4) (3) containing 3-(1,10-phenanthrolin-2-yl)-1-(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)imidazolylidene (L1) and 3-butyl-1-(1,10-phenanthrolin-2-yl)imidazolylidene (L2) have been prepared and fully characterized by NMR, ESI-MS, UV-vis spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography. Both L1 and L2 act as pincer NNC donors coordinated to ruthenium (II) ion. In 3, the Ru(II) and Ag(I) ions are linked by two bridging Cl(-) through a rhomboid Ag(2)Cl(2) ring with two Ru(II) extending to above and down the plane. Complexes 2-8 show absorption maximum over the 354-428 nm blueshifted compared to Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) due to strong σ-donating and weak π-acceptor properties of NHC ligands. Electrochemical studies show Ru(II)/Ru(III) couples over 0.578-1.274 V.  相似文献

Reaction of RuCl(2)(PPh(3))(3) with S(2)(-) sources yields a family of phosphine-containing Ru-S clusters which have been characterized crystallographically and by MALDI-MS. Ru(4)S(6)(PPh(3))(4) (Ru-Ru(av) = 2.94 A) has idealized T(d)() symmetry whereas Ru(6)S(8)(PPh(3))(6) (Ru-Ru(av) = 2.82 A) adopts the idealized O(h)() symmetry characteristic of Chevrel clusters. Ru(5)S(6)(PPh(3))(5) is formally derived by the addition of Ru(PPh(3)) to one face of Ru(4)S(6)(PPh(3))(4). In terms of its M-S connectivity, the Ru(5)S(6) cluster resembles a fragment of the FeMo cluster in nitrogenase.  相似文献

Three ruthenium sulfide clusters with labile CH3CN ligands have been photochemically synthesized. Irradiation of [(cymene)3Ru3S2](PF6)2 ([1](PF6)2) in CH3CN gives [(cymene)2(CH3CN)3Ru3S2](PF6)2 ([2](PF6)2), which has been characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy, ESI mass spectrometry, and chemical reactivity. Treatment of [2](PF6)2 with PPh3 gives [(cymene)2(CH3CN)2(PPh3)Ru3S2](PF6)2 ([3](PF6)2) and [(cymene)2(CH3CN)(PPh3)2Ru3S2](PF6)2 ([4](PF6)2), while treatment with 1,4,7-trithiacyclononane (9S3) gives [(cymene)2(9S3)Ru3S2](PF6)2 ([5](PF6)2). A crystallographic study demonstrated that the Ru3 core in [3](PF6)2, [4](PF6)2, and [5](PF6)2 is distorted with a pair of elongated Ru-Ru bonds. Cyclic voltammetry shows that [3](PF6)2 and [4](PF6)2 undergo two closely spaced reversible one-electron reductions whereas [5](PF6)2 undergoes one irreversible one-electron reduction and one reversible one-electron reduction. Prolonged irradiation of [1](PF6)2 in CH3CN causes decomposition, resulting in the pentanuclear cluster [(cymene)4Ru5S4](PF6)2 ([6](PF6)2).  相似文献

The Mo(3)SnS(4)(6+) single cube is obtained by direct addition of Sn(2+) to [Mo(3)S(4)(H(2)O)(9)](4+). UV-vis spectra of the product (0.13 mM) in 2.00 M HClO(4), Hpts, and HCl indicate a marked affinity of the Sn for Cl(-), with formation of the more strongly yellow [Mo(3)(SnCl(3))S(4)(H(2)O)(9)](3+) complex complete in as little as 0.050 M Cl(-). The X-ray crystal structure of (Me(2)NH(2))(6)[Mo(3)(SnCl(3))S(4)(NCS)(9)].0.5H(2)O has been determined and gives Mo-Mo (mean 2.730 ?) and Mo-Sn (mean 3.732 ?) distances, with a difference close to 1 ?. The red-purple double cube cation [Mo(6)SnS(8)(H(2)O)(18)](8+) is obtained by reacting Sn metal with [Mo(3)S(4)(H(2)O)(9)](4+). The double cube is also obtained in approximately 50% yield by BH(4)(-) reduction of a 1:1 mixture of [Mo(3)SnS(4)(H(2)O)(10)](6+) and [Mo(3)S(4)(H(2)O)(9)](4+). Conversely two-electron oxidation of [Mo(6)SnS(8)(H(2)O)(18)](8+) with [Co(dipic)(2)](-) or [Fe(H(2)O(6)](3+) gives the single cube [Mo(3)SnS(4)(H(2)O)(12)](6+) and [Mo(3)S(4)(H(2)O)(9)](4+) (up to 70% yield), followed by further two-electron oxidation to [Mo(3)S(4)(H(2)O)(9)](4+) and Sn(IV). The kinetics of the first stages have been studied using the stopped-flow method and give rate laws first order in [Mo(6)SnS(8)(H(2)O)(18)](8+) and the Co(III) or Fe(III) oxidant. The oxidation with [Co(dipic)(2)](-) has no [H(+)] dependence, [H(+)] = 0.50-2.00 M. With Fe(III) as oxidant, reaction steps involving [Fe(H(2)O)(6)](3+) and [Fe(H(2)O)(5)OH](2+) are implicated. At 25 degrees C and I = 2.00 M (Li(pts)) k(Co) is 14.9 M(-)(1) s(-)(1) and k(a) for the reaction of [Fe(H(2)O)(6)](3+) is 0.68 M(-)(1) s(-)(1) (both outer-sphere reactions). Reaction of Cu(2+) with the double but not the single cube is observed, yielding [Mo(3)CuS(4)(H(2)O)(10)](5+). A redox-controlled mechanism involving intermediate formation of Cu(+) and [Mo(3)S(4)(H(2)O)(9)](4+) accounts for the changes observed.  相似文献

Treatment of [M(II)(en)(3)][OTs](2) or methanolic ethylenediamine solutions containing transition metal p-toluenesulfonates (M(II) = Mn, Co) with aqueous K(4)M(IV)(CN)(8).2H(2)O or Cs(3)M(V)(CN)(8) (M(IV) = Mo, W; M(V) = Mo) affords crystalline clusters of [M(II)(en)(3)][cis-M(II)(en)(2)(OH(2))(mu-NC)M(IV)(CN)(7)].2H(2)O (M(IV) = Mo; M(II) = Mn, 1; Ni, 5; M(IV) = W; M(II) = Mn, 2; Ni, 6) and [cis-M(II)(en)(2)(OH(2))](2)[(mu-NC)(2)M(IV)(CN)(6)].4H(2)O (M(IV) = Mo; M(II) = Co, 3; Ni, 7; M(IV) = W; M(II) = Co, 4) stoichiometry. Each cluster contains cis-M(II)(en)(2)(OH(2))(mu-NC)(2+) units that likely result from dissociative loss of en from [M(II)(en)(3)](2+), affording cis-M(II)(en)(2)(OH(2))(2)(2+) intermediates that are trapped by M(IV)(CN)(8)(4-).  相似文献

A family of hexa-coordinated ruthenium(II) complexes of bis(N-pyridylimidazolylidenyl)methane (L) were prepared and structurally characterized. Carbene transfer reactions of [Ru(p-cymene)Cl(2)](2), [Ru(CO)(2)Cl(2)](n) and RuHCl(CO)(PPh(3))(3) with silver-NHC complexes in situ generated from [H(2)L](PF(6))(2) and Ag(2)O afforded [RuL(CH(3)CN)(2)](PF(6))(2) (1), [Ru(2)L(p-cymene)(2)Cl(2)](PF(6))(2) (2), [RuL(CO)(2)](PF(6))(2) (3) and [RuL(PPh(3))(2)](PF(6))(2) (4), respectively. The reactions of 1 towards several N- and P-donors were studied. The treatment of 1 with 1,10-phenanthroline resulted in the substitution of one pyridine and one acetonitrile molecule affording [RuL(phen)(CH(3)CN)](PF(6))(2) (5) as a mixture of two isomers. Reaction of 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane (dppe) and 1 gave [RuL(dppe)(CH(3)CN)(2)](PF(6))(2) (7), in which two pyridines were substituted by a dppe ligand trans to two NHC groups. In contrast, reactions of 1 with ethane-1,2-diamine, propane-1,3-diamine and 3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole led to the substitution of acetonitrile and subsequent N-H addition of the C≡N bond of the coordinated acetonitrile yielding [RuL(ethane-1,2-diamine)(N-(2-aminoethyl)acetimidamide)](PF(6))(2) (8), [RuL(propane-1,3-diamine)(N-(3-aminopropyl)acetimidamide)](PF(6))(2) (9) and RuL(1-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)ethanimine)(CH(3)CN)](PF(6))(2) (10), respectively.  相似文献

C-S bond cleavage in thiophene, benzothiophene and dibenzothiophene is achieved under biphasic conditions by the water-soluble cluster cation [H(4)Ru(4)(C(6)H(6))(4)](2+) which is converted into the disulfido cluster [H(2)S(2)Ru(4)(C(6)H(6))(4)](2+).  相似文献

Reactions of Fe[N(SiMe(3))(2)](2) with 1 and 2 equiv of Ph(3)SiSH in hexane afforded dinuclear silanethiolato complexes, [Fe(N(SiMe(3))(2))(mu-SSiPh(3))](2) (1) and [Fe(SSiPh(3))(mu-SSiPh(3))](2) (2), respectively. Various Lewis bases were readily added to 2, generating mononuclear adducts, Fe(SSiPh(3))(2)(L)(2) [L = CH(3)CN (3a), 4-(t)BuC(5)H(4)N (3b), PEt(3) (3c), (LL) = tmeda (3d)]. From the analogous reactions of M[N(SiMe(3))(2)](2) (M = Mn, Co) and [Ni(NPh(2))(2)](2) with Ph(3)SiSH in the presence of TMEDA, the corresponding silanethiolato complexes, M(SSiPh(3))(2)(tmeda) [M = Mn (4), Co (5), Ni (6)], were isolated. Treatment of 3a with (PPh(4))(2)[MoS(4)] or (NEt(4))(2)[FeCl(4)] resulted in formation of a linear trinuclear Fe-Mo-Fe cluster (PPh(4))(2)[MoS(4)(Fe(SSiPh(3))(2))(2)] (7) or a dinuclear complex (NEt(4))(2)[Fe(2)(SSiPh(3))(2)Cl(4)] (8). On the other hand, the reaction of 3a with [Cu(CH(3)CN)(4)](PF(6)) gave a cyclic tetranuclear copper cluster Cu(4)(SSiPh(3))(4) (9), where silanethiolato ligands were transferred from iron to copper. Silicon-sulfur bond cleavage was found to occur when the cobalt complex 5 was treated with (NBu(4))F in THF, and a cobalt-sulfido cluster Co(6)(mu(3)-S)(8)(PPh(3))(6) (10) was isolated upon addition of PPh(3) to the reaction system. The silanethiolato complexes reported here are expected to serve as convenient precursors for sulfido cluster synthesis.  相似文献

Overlayer thin films of vinylbipyridine (vbpy)-containing Ru and Zn complexes have been formed on top of ruthenium dye complexes adsorbed to TiO(2) by reductive electropolymerization. The goal was to create an efficient, water-stable photoelectrode or electrodes. An adsorbed-[Ru(vbpy)(2)(dcb)](PF(6))(2)/poly-[Ru(vbpy)(3)](PF(6))(2) surface composite displays excellent stability toward dissolution in water, but the added overlayer film greatly decreases incident photon-to-current conversion efficiencies (IPCE) in propylene carbonate with I(3)(-)/I(-) as the carrier couple. An ads-[Ru(vbpy)(2)(dcb)](PF(6))(2)/poly-[Zn(vbpy)(3)](PF(6))(2) composite displays no loss in IPCE compared to ads-[Ru(vbpy)(2)(dcb)](PF(6))(2) but is susceptible to film breakdown in the presence of water by solvolysis and loss of the cross-linking Zn(2+) ions. Success was attained with an ads-[Ru(vbpy)(2)(dcb)](PF(6))(2)/poly-[Ru(vbpy)(2)(dppe)](PF(6))(2) composite. In this case the electropolymerized layer is transparent in the visible. The composite electrode is stable in water, the IPCE in propylene carbonate with I(3)(-)/I(-) is comparable to the adsorbed complex, and a significant IPCE is observed in water with the quinone/hydroquinone carrier couple. The assembly [(bpy)(2)(CN)Ru(CN)Ru(vbpy)(2)(NC)Ru(CN)(bpy)(2)](PF(6))(2) ([Ru(CN)Ru(NC)Ru](PF(6))(2)) adsorbs spontaneously on TiO(2), and electropolymerization of thin layers of the assembly to give ads-[Ru(CN)Ru(NC)Ru](PF(6))(2)/poly-[Ru(CN)Ru(NC)Ru](PF(6))(2) enhances IPCE and has no deleterious effect on the IPCE/Ru.  相似文献
