The static magnetic susceptibility of mononuclear trimethylacetate nickel complex Ni(NH2Ph)4(OOCCMe3)2 (3) and binuclear complexes Ni2(μ-OH2)(μ-OOCCMe3)2(OOCCMe3)2(dipy)2 (4) and Ni2(μ-OOCCMe3)4py2 (5) was measured in the temperature range of 2–300 K. The magnetic behavior of3 is typical of mononuclear complexes with the Ni11 atom in the octahedral environment. Numerical calculations of the temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility with inclusion of isotropic exchange interactions (J) and single-ion initial splitting parameters showed that the magnetic behavior of complexes4 and 5 can be interpreted in terms of ferromagnetic (for4) and antiferromagnetic (for5) interactions. [Ru(bpy)(2)(Mebpy-COOH)](PF(6))(2).3H(2)O (1), [Ru(phen)(2)(Mebpy-COOH)](ClO(4))(2).5H(2)O (2), [Ru(dppz)(2)(Mebpy-COOH)]Cl(2).9H(2)O (3), and [Ru(bpy)(dppz)(Mebpy-COOH)](PF(6))(2).5H(2)O (4) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, Mebpy-COOH = 4'-methyl-2,2'-bipyridine-4-carboxylic acid, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, dppz = dipyrido[3,2,-a;2',3-c]phenazine) have been synthesized and characterized spectroscopically and by microanalysis. The [Ru(Mebpy-COOH)(CO)(2)Cl(2)].H(2)O intermediate was prepared by reaction of the monocarboxylic acid ligand, Mebpy-COOH, with [Ru(CO)(2)Cl(2)](n), and the product was then reacted with either bpy, phen, or dppz in the presence of an excess of trimethylamine-N-oxide (Me(3)NO), as the decarbonylation agent, to generate 1, 2, and 3, respectively. For compound 4, [Ru(bpy)(CO)Cl(2)](2) was reacted with Mebpy-COOH to yield [Ru(bpy)(Mebpy-COOH)(CO)Cl](PF(6)).H(2)O as a mixture of two main geometric isomers. Chemical decarbonylation in the presence of dppz gave 4 also as a mixture of two isomers. Electrochemical and spectrophotometric studies indicated that complexes 1 and 2 were present as a mixture of protonated and deprotonated forms in acetonitrile solution because of water of solvation in the isolated solid products. The X-ray crystal structure determination on crystals of [Ru(bpy)2(MebpyCOO)][Ru(bpy)(2)(MebpyCOOH)](3)(PF(6))(7), 1a, and [Ru(phen)(2)(MebpyCOO)](ClO(4)).6H(2)O, 2a, obtained from solutions of 1 and 2, respectively, revealed that 1a consisted of a mixture of protonated and deprotonated forms of the complex in a 1:3 ratio and that 2a consisted of the deprotonated derivative of 2. A distorted octahedral geometry for the Ru(II) centers was found for both complexes. Upon excitation at 450 nm, MeCN solutions of the protonated complexes 1-4 were found to exhibit emission bands in the 635-655 nm range, whereas the corresponding emission maxima of their deprotonated forms were observed at lower wavelengths. Protonation/deprotonation effects were also observed in the luminescence and electrochemical behavior of complexes 1-4. Comprehensive electrochemical studies in acetonitrile show that the ruthenium centers on 1, 2, 3, and 4 are oxidized from Ru(II) to Ru(III) with reversible potentials at 917, 929, 1052, and 1005 mV vs Fc(0/+) (Fc = ferrocene), respectively. Complexes 1 and 2 also exhibit an irreversible oxidation process in acetonitrile, and all compounds undergo ligand-based reduction processes.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of four new solid complexes, Cu(tolf)2L2 (tolf = tolfenamate, L = 2-pyridylmethanol (2-pyme), 3-pyridylmethanol (3-pyme), nicotinamide (na)) and Cu(tolf)2(dena)2(H2O)2 (dena = N,N-diethylnicotinamide) is reported. The composition and stereochemistry as well as the mode for ligand coordination have been determined by elemental analysis, IR, electronic and EPR spectra. The carboxyl group of the tolfenamate anion coordinates to the Cu(II) atom as an unidentate or as a chelating ligand. The EPR spectra of the powdered solids are consistent with spin S = ½. The crystal structure of Cu(tolf)2(dena)2(H2O)2 has been determined at 293 K. The Cu(II) atom has a tetragonal–bipyramidal arrangement (CuO4N2). The spectroscopic data indicate that each copper(II) atom in Cu(tolf)2L2 has a tetragonal–bipyramidal environment built up by bidentate unsymmetrically coordinate tolfenamates and unidentate N-donor atom ligands.  相似文献

Three Ru(II) complexes [Ru(bpy)2(1-IQTNH)](ClO4)2 (1), [Ru(bpy)2(2-QTNH)](ClO4)2 (2) and [Ru(bpy)2(3-IQTNH)](ClO4)2 (3) (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine, 1-IQTNH = 6-(isoquinolin-1-yl)-1,3,5-triazine- 2,4-diamine, 2-QTNH = 6-(quinolin-2-yl)-1,3,5-triazine- 2,4-diamine, 3-IQTNH = 6-(isoquinolin-3-yl)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diamine) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, 1H NMR spectroscopy, electrospray ionization mass spectrometry and X-ray crystallography. The electrochemical and spectroscopic properties of the complexes differ from those of [Ru(bpy)3]2+ owing to the structural differences between the ligands and their complexes.  相似文献

The tribenzylphosphine (PBz3) complexes of mercury(II), [Hg(PBz3)2](BF4)2, [Hg(PBz3)2(NO3)2] and [HgX(NO3)(PBz3)](X = Cl, Br, I and SCN), have been synthesised and their structures determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. [Hg(PBz3)2](BF4)2 contains [Hg(PBz3)2]2+ cations with linear P-Hg-P coordination, the first example of a truly two-coordinate [Hg(PR3)2]2+ complex. The mercury coordination in [Hg(PBz3)2(NO3)2] can be described as distorted tetrahedral, with a significant deviation of the P-Hg-P angle from linearity as a result of coordination of the nitrate groups. Nitrate coordination is also observed in [HgX(NO3)(PBz3)](X = Cl, Br, I), resulting in significantly non-linear P-Hg-X coordination. The thiocyanate complex is a centrosymmetric thiocyanate-bridged dimer with distorted trigonal-pyramidal mercury coordination to the P atom of PBz3, to the S and N atoms of two bridging thiocyanate groups, and to the O atom of one nitrate group. For all the nitrato complexes, secondary mercury-nitrate interactions (Hg-O 2.7-3.1 A) effectively raise the coordination number of the Hg(II) centres to six. High-resolution 31P solid-state NMR spectra of the six tribenzylphosphine mercury(II)-complexes, obtained by combining magic-angle spinning, proton dipolar decoupling and proton-phosphorus cross-polarization (CP-MAS), have been recorded. The spectra of [Hg(PBz3)2](BF4)2 and [HgX(NO3)(PBz3)](X = Cl, Br, I and SCN) exhibit a single line, due to species that contain non-magnetic isotopes of mercury, and satellite lines, due to 1J(31P-199Hg) coupling. The asymmetric unit of [Hg(PBz3)2(NO3)2] contains two molecules with four phosphorus environments, resulting in two AB spectra with 2J(31P-31P) coupling, due to species that contain non-magnetic isotopes of mercury, and satellite lines consisting of two ABX spectra, due to 1J(31P-199Hg) coupling. These spectra have been analysed to yield all of the chemical shifts and coupling constants involved. A remarkable increase in 1J(31P-199Hg) is observed from [Hg(PBz3)2](BF4)2 to [Hg(PBz3)2(NO3)2] as a consequence of the incorporation of the nitrate group into the Hg coordination sphere in the latter case. Several of the spectra also exhibit broader satellites due to the presence of scalar spin-spin coupling between 31P and the quadrupolar 201Hg nucleus. Slow-spinning methods have been used to analyze the spinning-sideband intensities of the NMR spectra, in order to obtain the 31P shielding anisotropy and asymmetry parameters Deltasigma and eta. The 199Hg and 31P NMR shielding tensors of PMe3 models of the above six compounds have been calculated using relativistic density functional theory. The 31P results are in good agreement with experiment and assist in the assignment of some of the signals.  相似文献

Eight new iron(III) amine-bis(phenolate) complexes are reported. The reaction of anhydrous FeX(3) salts (where X = Cl or Br) with the diprotonated tripodal tetradentate ligands 2-tetrahydrofurfurylamino-N,N-bis(2-methylene-4,6-di-tert-butylphenol), H(2)L1, 2-tetrahydrofurfurylamino-N,N-bis(2-methylene-4-methyl-6-tert-butylphenol), H(2)L2, and 2-methoxyethylamino-N,N-bis(2-methylene-4,6-di-tert-butylphenol), H(2)L3, 2-methoxyethylamino-N,N-bis(2-methylene-4-methyl-6-tert-butylphenol), H(2)L4 produces the trigonal bipyramidal iron(III) complexes, L1FeCl (1a), L1FeBr (1b), L2FeCl (2a), L2FeBr (2b), L3FeCl (3a), L3FeBr (3b), L4FeCl (4a), and L4FeBr (4b). All complexes have been characterized using electronic absorption spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and room temperature magnetic measurements. Variable temperature magnetic data were acquired for complexes 2b, 3a and 4b. Variable temperature M?ssbauer spectra were obtained for 2b, 3a and 4b. Single crystal X-ray molecular structures have been determined for proligand H(2)L4 and complexes 1b, 2b, and 4b.  相似文献

The reaction of 1-alkyl-2-{(o-thioalkyl)phenylazo}imidazoles (SRaaiNR) (2a/2b) with Ru(II) has synthesized [Ru(SRaaiNR)2](ClO4)2 (3a/3b) in 2-methoxyethanol. The reaction in methanol, however, has synthesized [Ru(SRaaiNR)(SRaaiNR)Cl](ClO4) (4a/4b). The solid phase reaction of SRaaiNR and RuCl3 on silica gel surface upon microwave irradiation has synthesized [Ru(SRaaiNR)(SaaiNR)](PF6) (5a/5b) [SRaaiNR represents tridentate N,N′,S-chelator; SRaaiNR is N,N′-bidentate chelator where S does not coordinate and SaaiNR refers N,N′,S-chelator where S refers to thiolato binding]. The structural characterization of [Ru(SEtaaiNEt)(SEtaaiNEt)Cl](ClO4) (4b) and [Ru(SEtaaiNEt)(SaaiNEt)](PF6) (5b) has been confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction study. The IR, UV–Vis, and 1H NMR spectral data also support the stereochemistry of the complexes. The complexes show metal oxidation, Ru(III)/Ru(II), and ligand reductions (azo/azo, azo/azo). The molecular orbital diagram has been drawn by density functional theory (DFT) calculation. Normal mode of analysis has been performed to correlate calculated and experimental frequencies of representative complexes. The electronic movement and assignment of electronic spectra have been carried out by TDDFT calculation both in gas and acetonitrile phase.  相似文献

Using a combination of electrochemical, spectroscopic and computational techniques, we have explored the fundamental properties of a series of ruthenium diimine complexes designed for coupling with other molecules or surfaces for electrochemiluminescence (ECL) sensing applications. With appropriate choice of ligand functionality, it is possible to manipulate emission wavelengths while keeping the redox ability of the complex relatively constant. DFT calculations show that in the case of electron withdrawing substituents such as ester or amide, the excited state is located on the substituted bipyridine ligand whereas in the case of alkyl functionality it is localised on a bipyridine. The factors that dictate annihilation ECL efficiency are interrelated. For example, the same factors that determine ΔG for the annihilation reaction (i.e. the relative energies of the HOMO and LUMO) have a corresponding effect on the energy of the excited state product. As a result, most of the complexes populate the excited state with an efficiency (Φ(ex)) of close to 80% despite the relatively wide range of emission maxima. The quantum yield of emission (Φ(p)) and the possibility of competing side reactions are found to be the main determinants of ECL intensity.  相似文献

A new purification method of magnesium(II) and zinc(II) porphine complexes (MgP and ZnP, respectively) by crystallization of their respective pyridine adducts is described. Pure MgP and ZnP can be regenerated by removal of the coordinated pyridine ligands by heating at 200 °C under vacuum. X-ray crystallographic structures of the pyridine adducts are presented for the first time. NMR analyses of the adducts reveal the coordination of two pyridine molecules. Electrochemical as well as UV-vis absorption spectroscopy analyses in DMF of MgP·(Py)2, ZnP·(Py)2, MgP and ZnP indicate that pyridine adducts are totally dissociated. Besides, oxidation peaks of these complexes are totally irreversible, revealing a high reactivity of the oxidized species. Electrolyses at the first oxidation potential lead to the formation of the meso-meso (ZnP)2 and (MgP)2 dimers, oligomers and polymers on the electrode surface, as attested by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy analyses of the crude solution.  相似文献

Two new cobalt(II) complexes, [Co(L3)2]·CH3OH·CH3COCH3 (1) (HL3 = 1-(2-{[(E)-3,5-dichloro-2-hydroxybenzylidene]amino}phenyl)ethanone oxime) and Co(L4)2 (2) (HL4 = 1-(2-{[(E)-3,5-dibromo-2-hydroxybenzylidene]amino}phenyl)ethanone oxime), have been synthesized via complexation of Co(II) acetate tetrahydrate with HL1 and HL2. HL1, HL2, and their corresponding Co(II) complexes were characterized by IR, 1H NMR spectra, as well as by elemental analysis and UV–Vis spectroscopy, respectively. The crystal structures of the complexes have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. 1 and 2 display that extensive hydrogen bonds and C–X···π bonding interactions construct the 1-D infinite chain [Co(L3)2]·CH3OH·CH3COCH3 and Co(L4)2 into 2-D supramolecular frameworks. The electrochemical properties of two Co(II) complexes were also investigated by cyclic voltammetry.  相似文献

Structural, electrochemical, ESR, and H2O2 reactivity studies are reported for [Mn(dmptacn)Cl]ClO4 (1, dmptacn = 1,4-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,4,7-triazacyclononane) and binuclear complexes of bis(pentadentate) ligands, generated by attaching 2-pyridylmethyl arms to each secondary nitrogen in bis(1,4,7-triazacyclononane) macrocycles and linked by ethyl (tmpdtne, [Mn2(tmpdtne)Cl2](ClO4)2.2DMF, 2), propyl (tmpdtnp, [Mn2(tmpdtnp)Cl2](ClO4)2.3H2O, 3), butyl (tmpdtnb, [Mn2(tmpdtnb)Cl2](ClO4)2.DMF.2H2O, 4), m-xylyl (tmpdtn-m-X, [Mn2(tmpdtn-m-X)-Cl2](ClO4)2, 5) and 2-propanol (tmpdtnp-OH, [Mn2(tmpdtnp-OH)Cl2](ClO4)2, 6) groups. 1 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group P2(1)2(1)2(1) (No. 19) with a = 7.959(7) A, b = 12.30(1) A, and c = 21.72(2) A; 2, in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c (No. 14) with a = 11.455(4) A, b = 15.037(6) A, c = 15.887(4) A, and beta = 96.48(2) degrees; 3, in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c (No. 14) with a = 13.334(2) A, b = 19.926(2) A, c = 18.799(1) A, and beta = 104.328(8) degrees; and [Mn2(tmpdtnb)Cl2](ClO4)2.4DMF.3H2O (4'), in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n (No. 14) with a = 13.361(3) A, b = 16.807(5) A, c = 14.339(4) A, and beta = 111.14(2) degrees. Significant distortion of the Mn(II) geometry is evident from the angle subtended by the five-membered chelate (ca. 75 degrees) and the angles spanned by trans donor atoms (< 160 degrees). The Mn geometry is intermediate between octahedral and trigonal prismatic, and for complexes 2-4, there is a systematic increase in M...M distance with the length of the alkyl chain. Cyclic and square-wave voltammetric studies indicate that 1 undergoes a 1e- oxidation from Mn(II) to Mn(III) followed by a further oxidation to MnIV at a significantly more positive potential. The binuclear Mn(II) complexes 2-5 are oxidized to the Mn(III) state in two unresolved 1e- processes [MnII2-->MnIIMnIII-->MnIII2] and then to the MnIV state [MnIII2-->MnIIIMnIV-->MnIV2]. For 2, the second oxidation process was partially resolved into two 1e- oxidation processes under the conditions of square-wave voltammetry. In the case of 6, initial oxidation to the MnIII2 state occurs in two overlapping 1e- processes as was found for 2-5, but this complex then undergoes two further clearly separated 1e- oxidation processes to the MnIIIMnIV state at +0.89 V and the MnIV2 state at +1.33 V (vs Fc/Fc+). This behavior is attributed to formation of an alkoxo-bridged complex. Complexes 1-6 were found to catalyze the disproportionation of H2O2. Addition of H2O2 to 2 generated an oxo-bridged mixed-valent MnIIIMnIV intermediate with a characteristic 16-line ESR signal.  相似文献

Reactions of [(az(-H))Pd(μ-Cl)(2)Pd(az(-H))] (az = azobenzene) with the zwitterionic, p-benzoquinonemonoimine-type ligands 4-(n-butylamino)-6(n-butylimino)-3-oxocyclohexa-1,4-dien-1-olate (Q(1)) or 4-(isopropylamino)-6(isopropylimino)-3-oxocyclohexa-1,4-dien-1-olate) (Q(2)) in the presence of a base leads to the formation of the mononuclear complexes [(az(-H))Pd(Q(1)(-H))] (1) and [(az(-H))Pd(Q(2)(-H))] (2) respectively. Structural characterization of 2 shows an almost square planar coordination geometry around the Pd(II) centre, a short Pd-C bond, a slight elongation of the N=N double bond of the az(-H) ligand and localization of the double bonds within the Q(2)(-H) ligand. Additionally, intermolecular N-H-O interactions exist between the uncoordinated N-H and O groups of two different molecules. Cyclic voltammetry of the complexes reveals an irreversible oxidation and two reversible reduction processes. A combination of electrochemical and UV-vis-NIR and EPR spectroelectrochemical studies are used to show that both coordinated ligands participate successively in the redox processes, thus revealing their non-innocent character.  相似文献

Salen type complexes, CuL, the corresponding tetrahydrosalen type complexes, Cu[H4]L, and N,N′-dimethylated tetrahydrosalen type complexes, Cu[H2Me2]L, were investigated using cyclic voltammetry, and electronic and ESR spectroscopy. In addition, the analogous copper(II) complexes with a derivative of the tetradentate ligand ‘salphen’ [salphen=H2salphen=N,N′-disalicylidene-1,2-diaminobenzene] were studied. Solutions of CuL, Cu[H4]L and Cu[H2Me2]L are air-stable at ambient temperature, except for the complex Cu(tBu, Me)[H4]salphen [H2(tBu, Me)[H4]salphen=N,N′-bis(2-hydroxy-3-tert-butyl-5-methylbenzyl)-1,2-diaminobenzene]. Cu(tBu, Me)[H4]salphen interacts with dioxygen and the ligand is oxidatively dehydrogenated (–CH2–NH–→–C=N–) to form Cu(tBu, Me)[H2]salphen and finally, in the presence of base, Cu(tBu, Me)salphen. X-ray structure analysis of Cu(tBu, Me)[H2Me2]salen confirms a slightly tetrahedrally distorted planar geometry of the CuN2O2 coordination core. The complexes were subjected to spectrophotometric titration with pyridine, to determine the equilibrium constants for adduct formation. It was found that the metal center in the complexes studied is only of weak Lewis acidity. In dichlormethane, the oxidation Cu(II)/Cu(III) is quasireversible for the CuL type complexes, but irreversible for the Cu[H4]L and Cu[H2Me2]L type. A poorly defined wave was observed for the irreversible reduction Cu(II)/Cu(I) at potentials less than −1.0 V. The ESR spectra of CuL at both 77 K and room temperature reveal that very well resolved lines can be attributed to the interaction of an unpaired electron spin with the copper nuclear spin, 14N donor nuclei and to a distant interaction with two equivalent protons [ACu(iso)≈253 MHz, AN(iso)≈43 MHz, AN(iso)≈20 MHz]. These protons are attached to the carbon atoms adjacent to the 14N nuclei. In contrast to CuL, the number of lines in the spectra of the complexes Cu[H4]L and Cu[H2Me2]L is greatly reduced. At room temperature, only a quintet with a considerably smaller nitrogen shf splitting constant [AN(iso)≈27 MHz] is observed. Both factors, planarity and conjugation, are thus essential for the observation of distant hydrogen shf splitting in CuL. Due to the C=N bond hydrogenation, the coordination polyhedra of the complexes Cu[H4]L and Cu[H2Me2]L is more flexible and more sensitive to ligand modification than that of CuL. The electron-withdrawing effect of the phenyl ring of the phenylenediamine bridge is reflected in a reduction of the copper hyperfine coupling constants in Cu(tBu, Me)[H4]salphen and Cu(tBu, Me)[H2Me2]salphen complexes [ACu(iso)≈215 MHz].  相似文献

Summary Qualitative infrared and electronic spectroscopic data for a series of nickel(II) amine complexes suggest structures involving octahedral (transtetragonal) symmetry and associated with varying degrees of cation-anion interaction. N-methyl ligand substituents contribute significantly to ligand conformations, complex symmetry, and cation-anion steric interactions. From the electronic data, the parametersDq,B,C,C/B, 35, andZ* are determined for each complex and a spectrochemical and nephelauxetic series is proposed for the associated amine ligands.
