We report CW dye laser emission extending the spectral range up to 1020 nm with three carbocyanines. These dyes are pumped by the infra-red lines of a krypton laser. They have a fairly good stability in time. 50 mwatt tuned output power has been obtained at 1000 nm.  相似文献

We present a stable high power all solid state laser system emitting 1-W of continuous wave laser radiation at a wavelength of 559 nm or 275 mW near 280 nm. The system consists of a commercial 2-W fiber laser with a line width of less than 200 kHz at 1118 nm and two home-built subsequent second harmonic generation external ring cavities using LBO and BBO crystals, respectively. A continuously operating jet stream dye laser was pumped by a multiwavelength-multimode argon-ion-laser with a pump power up to 200 W. Rhodamine 6G-chloride was dissolved in a water-polyvinylalcohol-ammonyx solution. The dye laser was prism-tunable between 560 and 650 nm with maximum output power at 600 nm. The maximum output power of the cw dye laser was 43 W without tuning element and 33 W with a prism placed inside the cavity. Operation of a jet stream dye laser with a pump power higher than 200 W and an efficiency of about 30% seems to be possible.  相似文献

An efficient organic dye laser with a linewidth of less than 2 Å has been developed as a source of tunable high power radiation in the wavelength range 7500–9200 Å. Utilizing a 2 MW ruby laser pump, infrared output powers in excess of 200 kW have been attained for the range 7650–8900 Å with peak power levels above 400 kW. The tunning range for a single dye varies from 550 to 1030 Å.  相似文献

The hyperfine structure of the Na D2-line was investigated in a fluorescence experiment involving a narrow band tunable dye laser and a highly collimated atomic beam. The observed linewidth was less than 16 MHz (natural line-width 10 MHz). All hyperfine components were resolved.  相似文献

Excitation transfer between the two components of a dye mixture has allowed a near IR dye laser to be pumped by a nitrogen laser. Several dye mixtures were employed to achieve lasing at all wavelengths within the range 6400–7720 Å. The output pulse powers were in excess of 10 kW over most of this range.  相似文献

Construction details and operating characteristics are reported for a pulsed dye laser oscillator followed by a three-stage dye laser amplifier. The system is excited with 220 mJ of the second or120 mJ of the third harmonic radiation of a Nd-YAG laser. With Rhodamine dyes the output energy exceeds 55 mJ (9 MW peak power). Coumarin dyes provide pulses of more than 15 mJ (3 MW). Spectral narrowing to less than 260 MHz or 2.7 × 10 -4 nm at 565 nm is achieved by a single intracavity etalon of 37.5 GHz free spectral range. Gas pressure tuning allows a continuous linear variation of the laser frequency over more than 3.9 × 103 GHz (4 nm at 565 nm). The frequency doubled laser output provides tunable UV light of narrow bandwidth (1.4 × 10-4 nm) and of peak powers exceeding 3 MW.  相似文献

A dye laser has been developed as a source of tunable radiation in the wavelength range 3500–3700 Å. A Variety of dyes and dye mixtures have been used to cover this range. Output powers up to 30 kW are obtained with line-widths less than 1.8 Å. A Fabry-Pérot etalon reduces the output linewidth to 0.1 Å and the peak output power by a factor of three. Second harmonic powers in excess of 2 kW have been generated from the output of this laser.  相似文献

We report on the characterization of a diode-side-pumped Nd:YAG rod laser operating at high CW output power. A four-fold pump configuration is designed and the pump light is directly coupled into the Nd:YAG rod without the help of any cylindrical lenses. The distribution of pump light in the Nd:YAG rod has been calculated by using ray tracing program. The thermal lens effect of the Nd:YAG rod has been experimentally measured. A maximum output power of 800 W at 1064 nm in multimode operation is obtained for a pump power of 2400 W with 33% optical-optical efficiency. At the same time, the maximum beam parameter product of 25 mm·mrad is achieved.  相似文献

An all-solid-state single-longitudinal-mode (SLM) laser at 500.8 nm with 830 mW output power has been demonstrated for the first time. By using a new resonator for doubly resonant, Nd:GdVO4 and Nd:YAG were pumped by two laser diode arrays coupled by optical fiber, respectively. In the two sub-cavities, SLM wavelengths of 1064 and 946 nm were induced by using the twisted-mode technique and then mixed into SLM 500.8 nm laser with sum-frequency technology. The SLM 500.8 nm laser output of 830 mW was obtained at the incident pump power of 20 W for Nd:GdVO4 and 23 W for Nd:YAG. The experimental results showed that the intracavity sum-frequency mixing by twisted-mode technique is an effective method for SLM 500.8 nm laser.  相似文献

A tunable wavelength, laser beam of very high spectral luminance in the near infrared is obtained by amplification of a monochromatic laser line emitted by a tunable dye oscillator. Optical pumping of the oscillator and the four-stage amplifier is effected by a giant pulse ruby laser. The energy obtained with a solution of 3,3′ dimethyl 2,2′ oxatricarbocyanine iodide (D.O.T.C.) in dimethyl sulfoxyde is 1 J at 7699 Å. The laser pulse of spectral width Δλ = 0.065 Å is emitted at a rate of 0.1 Hz. The half-peak pulse duration is 15 ns.  相似文献

A detailed numerical model analysis of the synchronously mode-locked CW dye laser is presented. In the analysis, good mode-locking is found mainly for negative cavity detuning. The calculated cavity length detunig effects are compared with the results of experiments performed on the Oxazine-1 dye laser. The agreement between theory and experiment is satisfactory. The experimental good mode-locking regime is predicted correctly by this analysis. The present calculations are also compared with the hitherto reported qualitative model analyses with a gaussian dye pulse approximation. The validity of these model analyses is examined.  相似文献

采用渐变折射率分别限制单量子阱宽波导结构,通过降低非辐射复合、有源层载流子泄露、散射和吸收损耗来提高出射效率和降低激光阈值电流,从而提高半导体激光器阵列的输出功率;同时使P面具有更高的粒子掺杂数密度,优化N面合金条件,降低半导体激光器的串联电阻,降低焦耳热,提高了半导体激光器阵列的转换效率。利用金属有机化学气相淀积技术生长GaInAsP/InGaP/AlGaAs渐变折射率分别限制单量子阱宽波导结构激光器材料,利用该材料制成半导体激光线阵列在20%高占空比的输入电流下,半导体激光器的输出峰值功率达到189.64 W(180 A),斜率效率为1.1 W/A,中心波长为805.0 nm,阈值电流为7.6 A,电光转换效率最高可达55.4%;在1%占空比的输入电流下,阵列的输出峰值功率可达324.9 W(300 A),斜率效率为1.11 W/A,阈值电流为7.8 A,电光转化效率最高达55.6%,中心波长为804.5 nm。  相似文献

We describe the simultaneous application of the self-injection and cavity dumping techniques to a flash pumped two-frequency dye laser. Short pulses with 1.5 ns fwhm were obtained with peak power in excess of 100 kW. A peak intensity gain by a factor 3 was observed with respect to normal cavity dumping operation. A simple model is presented to explain the power gain under self injected conditions and it is shown that for long cavities the power gain is limited by the upper laser level lifetime.  相似文献

The line shape of the signals observed by intracavity absorption in an atomic beam of barium is studied as a function of absorber density. Complex structure is observed consisting of both absorption and enhancement features. Comparison is made with models of intracavity absorption, and it is concluded that the rate equation model in its present form does not explain the structure. On the other hand the super-regen model does seem able to partially account for the observed structure. The complexity of the line shape will directly affect those workers who are using intracavity absorption as a spectroscopic technique.  相似文献
