For quivers with no directed cycles, the concept of fluidification is defined and used to prove that, under corresponding assumptions, the Tietze extension theorem for diagrams of topological spaces modeled on such quivers holds. In the present paper we show that a tree map is totally transitive iff it is topologically mixing. Using this result, we prove that the tree maps having a chaotic (or scrambled) subset with full Lebesgue measure is dense in the space consisting of all topologically mixing (transitive, respectively) maps.  相似文献

We show that the properties of almost minimal self-joinings and strong almost minimal self-joinings, introduced by del Junco in Topological Dynamics, are compatible with positive topological entropy, as opposed to the stronger property of minimal self-joinings. This is done both by proving existence theorems and by explicitly constructing some symbolic systems having these properties, which are modifications of the Chacón system. It is shown furthermore that these systems have no non-trivial factors with completely positive topological entropy.  相似文献

Let X be a countable discrete metric space and let XX denote the family of all functions on X. In this article, we consider the problem of finding the least cardinality of a subset A of XX such that every element of XX is a finite composition of elements of A and Lipschitz functions on X. It follows from a classical theorem of Sierpiński that such an A either has size at most 2 or is uncountable.We show that if X contains a Cauchy sequence or a sufficiently separated, in some sense, subspace, then |A|≤1. On the other hand, we give several results relating |A| to the cardinal d; defined as the minimum cardinality of a dominating family for NN. In particular, we give a condition on the metric of X under which |A|≥d holds and a further condition that implies |A|≤d. Examples satisfying both of these conditions include all subsets of Nk and the sequence of partial sums of the harmonic series with the usual euclidean metric.To conclude, we show that if X is any countable discrete subset of the real numbers R with the usual euclidean metric, then |A|=1 or almost always, in the sense of Baire category, |A|=d.  相似文献

We prove that a pointwise recurrent, orientation preserving homeomorphism of the 2-sphere, which is different from the identity and whose fixed points are stable in the sense of Lyapunov must have exactly two fixed points. If moreover there are no periodic points, other than fixed, then every stable minimal set is connected and its complement has exactly two connected components. Finally, we study liftings of the restriction to the complement of the fixed point set to the universal covering space.  相似文献

Abstract

In a previous work, we introduced a form of compactness applicable to general fuzzy sets in an I-topological space. It was shown that many of the standard results for compactness in general topology remain valid in the fuzzy setting. In this paper we continue our investigations into the behaviour of compact fuzzy subsets. We also introduce the notion of a relatively compact fuzzy subset and obtain results very similar to those of general topology. Many of our results are in the setting of fuzzy neighbourhood space and fuzzy uniform spaces. In particular, a number of criteria for compactness, already known for the whole space, are extended to arbitrary fuzzy subsets in a fuzzy neighbourhood space.  相似文献

In this paper we use the upper semifinite topology in hyperspaces to get results in normal Hausdorff topology. The advantage of this point of view is that the upper semifinite topology, although highly non-Hausdorff, is very easy to handle. By this way we treat different topics and relate topological properties on spaces with some topological properties in hyperspaces. This hyperspace is, of course, determined by the base space. We prove here some reciprocals which are not true for the usual Vietoris topology. We also point out that this framework is a very adequate one to construct the ?ech-Stone compactification of a normal space. We also describe compactness in terms of the second countability axiom and of the fixed point property. As a summary we relate non-Hausdorff topology with some facts in the core of normal Hausdorff topology. In some sense, we reinforce the unity of the subject.  相似文献

In the first part of this note we explore the relationship between connectibility and cohesiveness, including showing that the concepts do not coincide in the class of totally disconnected spaces. We introduce the concept of strong cohesion which fits between cohesion and connectibility. Several examples demonstrate the sharpness of the obtained results. In the second part of this note we investigate when certain one-point connectifications have the fixed point property. In particular, we prove this property for the canonical one-point connectification of Erd?s space. This result was claimed earlier in the literature but was withdrawn recently.  相似文献

Under suitable hypotheses the well known notion of first prolongational set J+ gives rise to a multivalued map which is continuous when the upper semifinite topology is considered in the hyperspace of X. Some important dynamical concepts such as stability or attraction can be easily characterized in terms of ψ and moreover, the classical result that an attractor in Rn has the shape of a finite polyhedron can be reinforced under the hypotheses that the mapping ψ is small and has a selection.  相似文献
