Abstract This is a report on a number of recent results on composition operators which map, for 0 < p ? q ∞, the Hardy space Hp (on the unit disk in the complex plane) into H q. Attention is focused on questions of boundedness (existence), compactness, order boundedness and, in connection with the latter, on relating the absolutely summing and nuclearity character as well as special factorization properties of the operator to function theoretic properties of the defining symbol. Moreover, tools are provided to show that certain classes of operators can well be distinguished already on the level of composition operators. 相似文献

Abstract In [Na-Rh] we developed a method based on positivity in order to characterize the stability of the evolution family corresponding to the nonautonomous Cauchy problem in Hilbert spaces. This method is extended to the study of hyperbolicity of linear skew-products. We also show that exponential dichotomy of a linear skew-product flow is equivalent to the existence of a Hermitian valued solution of some linear Riccati equation. 相似文献

Abstract In [7] the subject of reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces (RKHSs) of linear functionals associated with linear operators and, in particular, with second-order generalized stochastic processes (GSPs), is pursued. In this work these ideas are extended to nonlinear operators. As an example the characteristic operator of a GSP is pursued. The so-called nonlinear space of the process associated with the characteristic operator is investigated and the RKHS of functionals isometrically isomorphic to it is constructed. Abstract Let X and Y be normed spaces and T: D(T) ? X → Y a linear operator. Following R.D. Neidingcr [N1] we recall the Davis, Figiel, Johnson, Pelczynski factorization of T corresponding to a parameter p (1 ≤ p ≤ ∞) and apply the corresponding factorization result in [N1] to unbounded thin operators. Properties equivalent to ubiquitous thinness arc derived. Defining an operator T to be cothin if its adjoint is thin, a dual factorization result for cothin operators is obtained, where for each 1 < p < ∞, the intermediate space in the factorization is cohereditarily lp. This result is shown to hold more generally for the cases when T is either partially continuous or closable; in particular, such operators are strictly cosingular. A condition for a closable weakly compact operator to be strictly cosingular follows as a corollary. 相似文献

Abstract Abstract extrapolation spaces for strongly continuous semigroups of linear operators on Banach spaces have been constructed by various methods (see, e.g., [Am (1988)], [DaP-Gr (1984)], [Na (1983)], [Ne (1992)], [Wa (1986)]). Usually they appear as “artefacts” used in some intermediate step in order to solve the Cauchy problem on the original space. Only in a few cases (see the papers by the Dutch school on X ⊙*, e.g., [Ne (1992)]), and in sharp contrast to the situation for interpolation spaces (see, e.g., [Gr (1969)], [DiB (1991)], [Lu (1985)], [Ac-Te (1987)]), the extrapolation spaces have been identified in a concrete way. It is our intention to fill this gap and subsequently to give an application of the extrapolation method to a perturbation problem. 相似文献

Abstract Let X and Y be normed linear spaces. A linear operator T: D(T) ? X → Y is called an F-operator if its adjoint T′: D(T) ? Y′ → D(T)' is a φ+ -operator, i.e. has closed range and finite dimensional-kernel. Characterisations of an F_-operator T are obtained in the general case and in the case when T is closable. Abstract If T is an operator on a Banach lattice E we call T weakly irreducible if E contains no non-trivial T-invariant bands. We prove that if E is order complete and if the weakly irreducible operator T > 0 is in (E′oo ? E)⊥⊥ then T has positive spectral radéus. Prom this follows that Jentesch's theorem holds in arbitrary Banach function spaces. If [Ttilde] denotes the restriction of T′ to E′oo, 0 ? T an order continuous operator, then T is weakly irreducible if and only if [Ttilde]: E′oo→E′oo is weakly irreducible.
