The method is described of measuring the polarization observables Σ, P and T for the reaction γp → nπ+ in a double polarization experiment (polarized target + polarized beam). The measured angular distribution of these observables are presented for the photon energy range 280–420 MeV at c.m. pion emission angles between 30° and 150°. The obtained experimental data are included in the energy-independent multipole analysis of the reactions γp → Nπ.  相似文献

Using the responsible form factors calculated via full QCD, we analyze the ?? b ?? ???+?? transition in the standard model containing fourth-generation quarks (SM4). We discuss the effects of the presence of the t?? fourth-family quark on related observables like branching ratio, forward-backward asymmetry, baryon polarization as well as double-lepton polarization asymmetries. We also compare our results with those obtained in the SM as well as with predictions of the SM4 but using form factors calculated within heavy-quark effective theory. The obtained results on the branching ratio indicate that the ? transition is more probable in full QCD comparing to the heavy-quark effective theory. It is also shown that the results on all considered observables in the SM4 deviate considerably from the SM predictions when m t?? ?? 400 GeV.  相似文献

The 2S-1S transition in light muonic atoms is very sensitive to parity violation correlations induced via neutral currents. Observables depending on these transitions such as the photon polarization and the angular correlation between the emitted radiation and the atom polarization are a clear signal of weak neutral currents in atoms. We find the relation between the lepton and quark couplings and these observables emphasizing the effect of the nuclear spin. The results expected in muonic, atoms μ-4He and μ-3He are given.  相似文献

On the basis of a relativistic approach, NN ? reactions are analyzed in detail. The coherent sum of one-nucleon-exchange and pion-rescattering diagrams is calculated. It is shown that polarization observables are highly sensitive to off-mass-shell effects within the deuteron and that some of these observables can change sign upon taking these effects into account. The effect of the deuteron P wave is also investigated. The results obtained by calculating a full set of observables are compared with experimental data on the reaction pp +.  相似文献

A proper treatment of various electromagnetic contributions toN-4He scattering enables one to determinen(p)-4He observables fromp(n)-4He data. Several calculations ofn-4He observables considering different electromagnetic effects are presented. It is shown that the contribution of thep-4He Coulomb corrections ton-4He polarizations and differential cross sections dominates over other electromagnetic effects forθ c.m.≧30°. For smaller scattering angles, neutron magnetic scattering is important and produces a divergingn-4He differential cross section atθ=0° and a large peak (Mott-Schwinger effect) in the polarization. The influence of thep- andn-4He vacuum polarizations on then-4He observables is found to be small.  相似文献

We present a theoretical study of three- and four-nucleon continuum within the hyperspherical harmonics method, using a representative variety of realistic nucleon–nucleon potential models, i.e. one of phenomenological type, the Argonne v 18 (AV18), one obtained within chiral effective field theory up to next-to-next-to-next-leading order, the Idaho N3LO (I-N3LO), and a “low-k” model derived from the CD-Bonn potential. In particular, the convergence pattern for the four-nucleon system is found to be problematic for the P-waves phase-shifts in the case of the AV18 potential at higher energies. An extrapolation procedure is presented and discussed. Finally, we present the theoretical results for p?d and p?3 scattering observables at two selected energies, and we compare these with the available experimental data. In particular, some spread in the unpolarized cross section and in some polarization observables has been observed using the three potential models, in particular for A =  4. Furthermore the well known discrepancy in the vector polarization observables remains for the three potential models.  相似文献

We have examined the neutron-deuteron low-energy effective-range parameters, differential cross sections and spin polarization observables of the elastic nucleon-deuteron scattering up to the incident nucleon energy E N  = 65 MeV, using the quark-model nucleon–nucleon interaction fss2. These observables are consistently described without introducing three nucleon forces except for the nucleon analyzing power A y (θ) and the deuteron vector analyzing power iT 11(θ) in the low-energy region E N  ≤ 25 MeV. The long-standing A y puzzle is slightly improved, but still remains. We have incorporated the screened Coulomb force to the proton-deuteron scattering, modifying the Vincent–Phatak approach for the sharp cutoff Coulomb force. The Coulomb effect on the elastic scattering observables is discussed.  相似文献

The effect of pion-nucleon and nucleon-nucleon rescatterings on polarization observables of the reaction γdppπ? are calculated in the delta-isobar region. Pion-nucleon and nucleon-nucleon rescatterings are considered on the basis of a diagrammatic approach. Lorentz invariant expressions are used for the operators of photoproduction and of pion scattering on a free nucleon. A unitarization procedure in the K-matrix approximation is used for resonance partial-wave amplitudes. It is shown that, in the delta-resonance region, rescattering has a sizable effect on polarization observables of the reaction γdppπ? at high momenta of final protons.  相似文献

The influence of the neutron electric form factor on various observables in two-body break-up of deuterons by electrons such as differential cross section, beam, target and beam-target asymmetries and outgoing nucleon polarization as well is investigated for different kinematic regions. The electron-deuteron vector asymmetryA ed V and the outgoing nucleon polarization component P′x(n) are the most promising observables in and off the quasi-free region for a determination ofG En. The elastic scattering differential cross sections of intermediate energy antiprotons on12C and16O nuclei and the elastic scattering polarization observables of antiprotons on these nuclei have been calculated on the basis of theα-cluster model with dispersion and multiple diffraction theory. The differential cross-section and the polarization observables for Δ-isobar production in the deuteron electrodisintegration process, e-+de-+Δ+N, are calculated in a general formalism based on structure functions. The obtained expressions have a general nature, hold for one-photon-exchange, assuming P-invariance of the electromagnetic interaction and the conservation of the hadron electromagnetic current. The dependence of the differential cross-section of the e-+de-+Δ+N reaction on the vector and tensor polarizations of the deuteron target with unpolarized and longitudinally polarized electrons is considered. The general dependence of the asymmetries on two of five kinematic variables, the azimuthal angle φ and (linear polarization of the virtual photon) is calculated. A similar analysis is performed for the polarization of the nucleon produced in γ*d→ΔN reaction provided the electron beam is unpolarized or longitudinally polarized. Polarization effects, which are due to the strong ΔN-interaction in the final state are calculated. The photoproduction of the Δ-isobar on the deuteron target has been considered in detail, as a particular case. The differential cross-section and various polarization observables have been derived in terms of the reaction amplitudes. The polarization observables due to the linear and circular polarizations of the photon, when the deuteron target is arbitrarily polarized have been derived in terms of the reaction amplitudes. The polarization of the final nucleon is also considered.  相似文献

The parametrization of cross-section, polarization, analysing powers, spin-correlation and polarization transfer observables in terms of (l, s, J) matrix elements is given for the3H(d, n)4He reaction at low energies. The polarization Py for the 3H(p, n)3He reaction was measured for energies between 2 and 4 MeV. Special care was given to minimizing the effects of background and to interpreting the experimental spectra. The new values for Py are significantly higher than previous values, and comparison to the available data for the analyzing power Ay for the same reaction now shows that in this energy range Py and Ay are equal within experimental uncertainties. This equality negates earlier conclusions that sizeable differences existed between these observables. In particular, our new results demonstrate that in this reaction the effects of charge symmetry breaking on differences between these observables must be small.  相似文献

Within the impulse approximation, polarization effects in inelastic deuteron scattering on nuclei are investigated in the region around the resonance of mass about 2190 MeV/c 2. It is shown that the spin-dependent part of the NNNN*(2190) amplitude plays a significant role at high momentum transfers. Predictions are obtained for some polarization observables and cross sections for various deuteron-spin-flip processes.  相似文献

The shapefactor, the logft-value, the electron longitudinal polarization and the distribution of electrons emitted from oriented nuclei of36Cl have been calculated by applying two different nuclear models. Firstly a pure 1d3/2→1d3/2 transition has been considered. Secondly a more refined shell model of thes-d shell configuration space has been taken into account. It is shown that there is no great influence of the shell model version to the observables, that the observables depend strongly on the relativistic nuclear matrix elements, that the so-called “two parameter equation” for the shapefactor cannot be used in the case of36Cl and that there is no larger sensitivity of (V+A) admixtures to the electron longitudinal polarization than normally found in allowed decays. We show that coherentη andη′ photoproduction by means of the Primakoff Effect on the proton depends on the strange component of the neutral axial current coupling. We construct polarization asymmetries that are sensitive to this coupling through theγ?Z interference. Theη′ is not a Goldstone boson of a spontaneously broken chiral symmetry, but a phenomenological analysis of theη andη′ production through chiral perturbation theory allows to calculate the observables of interest. The polarized proton or polarized photon asymmetries are predicted to be close to 10?4 for ?q 2~0.1?0.5 GeV2.  相似文献

The Wolfenstein parameters are for the first time obtained analytically in terms of observables. It is shown that a set of ten nucleon?Cnucleon (NN) observables, which contains polarization observables together with the differential cross section, determines uniquely the solution for Wolfenstein parameters except for a common insignificant phase. Using such analytical solutions one expects to get more accurate theoretical parameters for the potential models by ?? 2 fitting to the resulting Wolfenstein parameter data than the standard manner of a phase-shift analysis. An example of fixing a unique set of physical solutions for the Wolfenstein parameters from a set of 16 solutions based on nine observables alone and adding one more observable is illustrated using pseudo data generated by the CD Bonn potential.  相似文献

The polarization observables Σ,P y ,T 1,P y ,P y are derived in proton polarization measurements of the \(\vec \gamma d \to \vec pn\) reaction, using a linearly polarized photon beam of energies between 300 and 600 MeV for c.m.s. proton emission angles of 90° and 120°. A multipole analysis is performed in the framework of the gauge-invariant pole model considering theγN→πN amplitudes and the deuteron structure without dibaryon resonances and with different sets of isovector and isoscalar dibaryon resonances. It is shown that the inclusion of dibaryon resonances substantially improves agreement with experimental data.  相似文献
