An N-terminal deuterohemin-containing hexapeptide (DhHP-6) was designed as a short peptide cytochrome c (Cyt c) mimetic to study the effect of N-terminal charge on peptide fragmentation pathways. This peptide gave different dissociation patterns than normal tryptic peptides. Upon collision-induced dissociation (CID) with an ion trap mass spectrometer, the singly charged peptide ion containing no added proton generated abundant and characteristic bn-44 ions instead of bn-28 (an) ions. Studies by high resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) and isotope labeling indicate that elimination of 44 Da fragments from b ions occurs via two different pathways: (1) loss of CH3CHO (44.0262) from a Thr side chain; (2) loss of CO2 (43.9898) from the oxazolone structure in the C-terminus. A series of analogues were designed and analyzed. The experimental results combined with Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations on the proton affinity of the deuteroporphyrin demonstrate that the production of these novel bn-44 ions is related to the N-terminal charge via a charge-remote rather than radical-directed fragmentation pathway. The inhibition effect of curcumin on the corrosion of mild steel in 1.0 M HCl solution was studied by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) methods. The experimental results suggest that this compound is an efficient corrosion inhibitor and the inhibition efficiency increases with the increase in inhibitor concentration. Adsorption of this compound on mild steel surface obeys Langmuir isotherm. Also the objective of this work is to attempt to find relationships between electronic structure and inhibition efficiency. The structural parameters, such as the frontier molecular orbital energies (E HOMO and E LUMO), gap of energy ΔE, from the molecule to iron as well as electronic parameters such as Mulliken atomic populations were calculated and discussed using the Density Functional Theory method (DFT).  相似文献

XFe2O4 magnetic nanoparticles (X = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, and Zn) were prepared by using two methods: coprecipitation and hydrothermal. The synthesized nanoparticles were compared according to the separation in an external magnetic field and finally, the hydrothermal method was specified as a better synthesis method. The magnetic nanoparticles were characterized by physico-chemical analysis methods such as Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), nitrogen adsorption-adsorption isotherm and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Magnetic properties of synthesized nanoparticles were studied by ab-initio theoretical methods to confirm and compare with the experimental results. According to the VSM analysis, all of magnetic nanoparticles had good magnetization while CoFe2O4 nanoparticles showed the ferromagnetic behavior. The magnetic properties of XFe2O4 configurations were studied using Density Functional Theory ab-initio method. The theoretical results were consistent with experimental magnetizations in the absence of external field. Finally, the photocatalytic behavior of prepared samples was investigated in the presence of oxone as an accelerated agent for degradation of an azo dye.  相似文献

A spherical average pseudopotential method (SAPS) is used to investigate some properties of compound alkali clusters. The effect that the substitution of a Sodium atom by a Lithium atom in a Na n cluster has on the stabilities and geometries is studied forn≤21. We have found that substitution is always energetically possible. On the other hand equiatomic Na n Cs n clusters are considered in the size rangen≤16. We find a strong segregation effect of the Cesium atoms towards the cluster surface. This agrees with what happens in liquid Na x Cs1?x alloys.  相似文献

Negatively charged cluster ions of hydrogen chloride are formed by electron attachment to HCl clusters, which are produced in a seeded supersonic beam traversing a sustained gas discharge. Cluster ions of (HCl) n ? , withn=2, and tentatively withn=3 and 4 are observed. Cluster ions like Cl n ? , Cl n ? (HCl) m , and withAr attached to them are also seen. The relevance to radiation chemistry of HCl if briefly discussed. Atoms evaporating from the hot, thoriated tungsten filament of the glow discharge lead to clusters such as Th n ? and its oxides.  相似文献

In this study, quantum chemical calculations of geometric parameters, conformational, natural bond orbital (NBO) and nonlinear optical (NLO) properties, vibrational frequencies, 1H and 13C NMR chemical shifts of the title molecule [C9H7F5N2O3] in the ground state have been calculated with the help of Density Functional Theory (DFT-B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p)) and Hartree-Fock (HF/6-311++G(d,p)) methods. The optimized geometric parameters, vibrational frequencies, 1H and 13C NMR chemical shifts values are compared with experimental values of the investigated molecules. Comparison between experimental and theoretical results showed that B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) method is able to provide more satisfactory results. In order to understand this phenomenon in the context of molecular orbital picture, we examined the molecular frontier orbital energies (HOMO, HOMO-1, LUMO, and LUMO + 1), the energy difference (ΔE) between E HOMO and E LUMO, electronegativity (χ), hardness (η), softness (S) calculated by HF/6-311++G(d,p) and B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) levels. The molecular surfaces, Mulliken, NBO, and Atomic polar tensor (APT) charges of the investigated molecule have also been calculated by using the same methods.  相似文献

Neutral sodium ammonia clusters are formed in apickup source by injecting a beam of sodium atoms into the expansion zone of a pulsed nozzle beam of neat ammonia gas. The clusters are studied by one-photon ionisation in the range of 266 nm to 500 nm with pulsed lasers and Time-of-Flight mass spectroscopy. Na(NH3) n cluster ion signals up ton=35 are observed. The ionisation potentials of complexes up ton=9 are reported.  相似文献

The geometric structures, relative stabilities, magnetic properties of Mo-doped gold clusters Au n Mo(n = 1–10) have been investigated at the PBE1PBE/def2TZVP level of theory. The results show that molybdenum doping has a significant effect on the geometric structures and electronic properties of Au n Mo(n = 1–10) clusters. For the lowest energy structures of Au n Mo(n = 1–10), the two dimensional to three dimensional transition occurs at cluster size n ≥ 8, and their relative stabilities exhibit odd–even oscillation with the change of Au atom number. It is found that charge in corresponding Au n Mo clusters transfers from Mo atom to Au n host in the size range n = 1–7, whereas the charge in opposition direction in the size range n = 8–10. In addition, the magnetic properties of Au n Mo clusters are enhanced after doping single Mo atom into the corresponding gold clusters. Our results are valuable for the design of magnetic material.  相似文献

Substitutional solid solutions Mg2+ ? Ni2+ of crystal hydrates Mg(1 ? x)Ni x NH4PO4 · 6H2O and Mg(1 ? x)Ni x NH4PO4 · H2O (where 0 < x ≤ 0.65), which have struvite structure and dittmarite structure, respectively, have been studied. Ion exchange Mg2+ ? Ni2+ influences the condition of M2+-H2O (M2+ = Mg2+, Ni2+) coordination bonds and hydrogen bonds involving coordinated H2O molecules, as probed by X-ray powder diffraction, thermal analysis, and FTIR spectroscopy. The coordination of water molecules to metal ions in those crystal hydrates is treated to be a factor that determines the propensity of the resulting crystal structures to polymorphism.  相似文献

Photodissociation and photodetachment of negatively charged sulfur dioxide clusters (SO2) n ? ,n=2–11, were investigated in the wavelength range from 458 to 660 nm. Electrons obtained from the interaction of photons with clusters were found to be produced in two photon processes forn≥3. Hence their detachment threshold energy is increased by at least 0.7 eV with respect to the dimer. Wavelength dependent depletion spectra indicate that the clusters are composed of a dimer anion chromophore solvated by neutral molecules. The spectral position of the absorption band is maintained and the shape evolves continuously with cluster size. However, a narrowing of the band with increasing cluster size is observed.  相似文献

The photoionisation threshold region of homogeneous Argon and Krypton clusters Ar n and Kr n forn up to 24 formed in a free jet expansion has been studied in detail, using the threshold photoelectron photoion coincidence (TPEPICO) time of flight technique. Measurements performed at a variety of different expansion conditions (nozzle temperature and stagnation pressure) demonstrate that fragmentation of larger clusters contributes substantially to the shape of the TPEPICO spectra even for the smallest clusters and at all photon energies higher than about 200 meV to 400 meV above the ionisation threshold. The determination of ionisation potentials for these cluster ions is discussed and careful estimates are given and compared with recent theoretical values.  相似文献

The Density Functional Formalism is used to calculate the minimum number of atoms (N c ) a multiply charged jellium-like spherical cluster must contain to be stable against coulomb explosion into two smaller fragments. In the case of alkaline clusters, which are systems for which the jellium model can be applied, we findN c equal to 31 and 23 for the explosion of Na N 2+ and Cs N 2+ respectively, in good agreement with the experimental value ofN c = 18 for Cs N 2+ . Calculated critical numbers for triply and tetracharged Cs clusters are 108 and 323 respectively. In addition the model predicts that the most favourable fragmentation channel is the ejection of a singly charged monomer.  相似文献

Photodissociation of negatively charged sulfur dioxide clusters (SO2) n ? , 2≦n≦11, was investigated in the wavelength range between 458 nm and 600 nm using a tandem mass spectrometer. The spectral position of the absorption band remains unchanged, however it exhibits narrowing with increasing cluster size. The smooth evolution of the spectra shows that the clusters are composed of a dimer anion core surrounded by neutral molecules. The analysis of the fragmentation products reveals that the absorption of a photon is followed by statistical evaporation of neutrals with a mean energy loss of 0.28±0.05 eV per evaporated monomer in the large cluster limit.  相似文献

Neutral Na·(H2O) n clusters are studied by near-uv one-photon ionisation and time-of-flight mass spectroscopy. The clusters are formed in a “pickup source” by injection of a beam of Na atoms into the expansion zone of a pulsed nozzle beam of water vapour seeded into an argon carrier gas. The performance of this novel technique for studying cold aggregates of potentially reactive species is discussed in detail. The photoion efficiency (PIE) spectrum of the monomer near its ionisation threshold (4.379(2) eV) shows a rich structure. Vibrational frequencies of the ion can be deduced and some indication of molecular Rydberg states is seen. Ionisation potentials for larger clusters and the binding energies of the neutral clusters up ton=5 are reported.  相似文献

Van-der-Waals clusters of carbazole (representing the ‘solute’) with up to 40 nitrogen or methane solvent molecules were characterized using two-color resonant two-photon ionization spectroscopy. Features in these spectra (redshift, homogeneous and heterogeneous broadening, etc.) are interpreted as being caused by various static and dynamic effects of the solvent shell surrounding the aromatic substrate. For a better understanding of such effects, Monte Carlo simulations of the clusters were performed: Statics: Using a Monte Carlo simulated annealing minimization procedure, minimum energy structures (local, probably global) were found for the various cluster species. Using a simple empirical additivity rule, spectral shifts are rationalized from these structures.Dynamics: Starting from these minimum configurations, canonical ensemble simulations were carried out in a temperature range from 0 to 35 K. Severalorder-disorder transitions were identified including:
  1. orientational isomerization or ‘melting’
  2. surface isomerization or decoupling
  3. rigid → fluxional transitions
  4. full cluster ‘melting’

Stoichiometric and non-stoichiometric, positive and negative oxygen cluster ions (n up to 70) have been produced in a crossed neutral beam/electron beam ion source. The abundance and stability of the ions formed have been analyzed with a double focussing sector field mass spectrometer in a series of experiments. Positive and negative ion mass spectra observed exhibit distinct abundance anomalies, however, at different cluster sizes. Abundance maxima and minima correlate with correspondingly small and large metastable fractions of (O2) n + and (O2) n ? ions, respectively. (O2) n + ions may also lose up top=(n?1) monomers by collision induced dissociation with monotonously decreasing probability with increasingp. Metastable fractions determined for (O2) n ? ions produced with appr. zero eV electrons are in general larger than those for ions produced with appr. 7 eV electrons. (O2) n ? ions are also observed to decay via autodetachment, with lifetimes increasing with increasing cluster size. Finally, here we were able to prove that an apparent loss of the monomer fragment O (and higher homologues) observed in the metastable time regime is due to ordinary metastable monomer evaporation in the acceleration region. Moreover, we will also present here some new data and interpretation concerning the electron attachment cross section function for O2 clusters.  相似文献

Photoionisation efficiency (PIE)-spectra are measured for small (N2O)n-clusters,n=2...8, using synchrotron radiation from the electron storage ring BESSY at Berlin. Ionisation thresholds are reported. Resonances in the wavelength-range 97...100 nm forn>2 are attributed to exciton absorption with N2O-Rydberg levels, series I and II parentage. This interpretation is supported by measurements of the PIE of mixed benzonitrile · (N2O)n clusters where benzonitrile serves as a monitor for photon absorption in N2O at energies above the ionisation limit of benzonitrile.  相似文献

Using the gasaggregation technique it is possible to generate metal clusters in narrow size distributions and to vary their mean size by adjusting the cell parameters. The high intensity of this source allows to detect besides singly charged clusters also multiply charged ones. Ag n 2+ and Ag n 3+ are observed forn≧9 andn≧31, respectively; i.e. at values well below the critical sizes reported for spheres.  相似文献

The spherical jellium model and self-consistent Weighted Density Approximation (WDA) to density functional theory have been used to study the stability of X N n (n=?1, 0, +1, +2; X=Ag, Cu;N≤25) clusters. The calculated magic numbers coincide with the observed ones. The first (IP1) and second (IP2) ionization potentials of Ag N and Cu N as a function of size show the typical oscillations induced by the electronic shell-filling effect. IP1 of Cu N is about 0.5 eV higher than IP1 of Ag N in the range studied (N≤25). For both Cu N and Ag N , IP1 appears to converge well towards the respective experimental values of the work function. The use of WDA allows us to obtain bound negative clusters of small size or with a nearly empty external shell, which is not possible using the Local Density Approximation (LDA) [1, 2]. However the electron affinity of X N clusters obtained as the difference of energies of the neutral and the negatively charged clusters, becomes negative forN=2, 3 and 8 (very close to zero forN=8), revealing that WDA needs further refinements.  相似文献

Three new coordination polymers, [Mn(BDC-F4)(DMF)2(H2O)2] n (1), [Ni(BDC-F4)(DMF)(EtOH)] n (2), and [Cd(BDC-F4)(DMF)(EtOH)] n (3), have been synthesized by assembling transition metal salts with the rigid ligand tetrafluoroterephthalic acid (H2BDC-F4) in mixed EtOH/DMF solvent at pH ca. 2. For complex 1, the octahedral coordination geometry of the MnII center is provided by two oxygen atoms from two dianionic BDC-F4 ligands, two DMF ligands and two aqua ligands, giving a 1-D linear chain array. For complex 2, the NiII center is coordinated by two dianionic BDC-F4 ligands, two EtOH ligands and two DMF ligands, resulting in a 1-D chain structure. For complex 3, the CdII center is coordinated by four dianionic BDC-F4 ligands, one EtOH ligand and one DMF ligand, generating a 2-D layered structure. The results suggest that both the metal and the solution pH play an important role in the formation of the complexes. The spectroscopic, thermal, and luminescence properties of the complexes have been investigated.  相似文献
