The two-neutron halo nucleus (14)Be has been investigated in a kinematically complete measurement of the fragments ((12)Be and neutrons) produced in dissociation at 35 MeV/nucleon on C and Pb targets. Two-neutron removal cross sections, neutron angular distributions, and invariant mass spectra were measured, and the contributions from electromagnetic dissociation (EMD) were deduced. Comparison with three-body model calculations suggests that the halo wave function contains a large nu(2s(1/2))(2) admixture. The EMD invariant mass spectrum exhibited enhanced strength near threshold consistent with a nonresonant soft-dipole excitation.  相似文献

The isoscalar transition rates and neutron-stripping probabilities to states of 14C have been measured using the 35 MeV 14C(α, α')14C and 17.7 MeV 13C(d, p)14C reactions. States showing great charge asymmetries in pion scattering at 8.32 MeV (2+) and 11.7 MeV (4?) were examined in detail. Isoscalar transition rates B(02) were determined to be 168, 96 and 74 fm4 for the 7.01, 8.32 and 10.45 MeV 2+ states, with identical single-neutron spectroscopic factors of 0.065, from the (d, p) data, for the lowest two states.  相似文献

The cell-killing potential of the 14N(n,p)14C reaction was considered with regard to neutron absorption in human nuclear DNA and respiratory phosphates for: (A) 1012 thermal neutrons in 1 kg of soft tissue, (B) a mono-energetic beam of 2 MeV neutrons incident in 1 kg of soft tissue such that the total collision kerma was 10 J/kg, and (C) an evenly distributed 0–66 MeV neutron beam, also incident in 1 kg such that the total collision kerma was 20 J/kg. For case (A) 0.0017 14N(n,p)14C reactions could be expected per DNA double strand, case (B) 0.053, and case (C) 0.0039. The probabilities that a proton emitted outside the nucleus would cross nuclear DNA were estimated from 14N tissue content for adult skeletal muscle, liver, and kidney tissues, for (1) nuclear DNA being concentrated in a sphere of 1.8 μm diameter, and (2) nuclear DNA being evenly distributed in a spherical nucleus 5 μm in diameter. It was concluded that even in a nitrogen-rich tissue exposed to a collision kerma of 20 J/kg by a 0–66 MeV fast neutron beam, the 14N(n,p)14C reaction directly kills at most 10 cells in every 1000, 4 of these by DNA nitrogen absorption and 6 by the 14N(n,p)14C protons emitted elsewhere in the cell. However, the dose due to the 14N(n,p)14C reaction should be measured where exposure to thermal neutron fluxes is significant. For therapeutic neutron doses the number of respiratory phosphate molecules in which the 14N(n,p)14C reaction occurs is insignificant, and doses from 14C-decay after neutron therapy are also negligible.  相似文献

An experiment for p(~(14)C,~(14)C~*→~(10)Be+α)p inelastic excitation and decay was performed in inverse kinematics at a beam energy of 25.3 Me V/u.A series of~(14)C excited states,including a new one at 18.3(1)Me V,were observed which decay to various states of the final nucleus of~(10)Be.A specially designed telescope system,installed around zero degrees,played an essential role in detecting the resonant states near theα-separation threshold.A state at 14.1(1)Me V is clearly identified,being consistent with the predicted band-head of the molecular rotational band characterized by theπ-bond linear chain configuration.Further clarification of the properties of this exotic state is suggested by using appropriate reaction tools.  相似文献

We have measured the14N(n, p)14C reaction cross section at 24.5, 53.5 and 144 keV to be 2.04±0.16 mbarns, 2.08±0.23 mbarns and 2.07±0.27 mbarns, respectively. The measured values indicate that this reaction could have a large influence on the process of element formation in the Universe.  相似文献

The ground states of 14C and 14O are described by a cluster wavefunction and the 14Cgs+, π-) 14Ogs DIAS transition at 50 MeV is calculated in the Glauber theory. The results are in agreement with experimental data qualitatively and indicate that the effect of the l2 C core on the reaction is important.  相似文献

The14N(n,p)14C reaction cross section has been measured for thermal neutrons, making use of the neutron beam of the IBR-30 pulsed booster of the JINR, Dubna. Thermal neutrons were identified by a time-offlight method. Solid adenin targets were utilized. An ionization chamber was used for detecting the charged particles. (1)H-(14)N nuclear quadrupole double resonance using magnetic field cycling between high and low magnetic field and solid effect in the low magnetic field is analyzed in details. The transition probabilities per unit time for the solid-effect transitions are calculated. The double resonance spectra are calculated in the limiting cases of fast and slow nitrogen spin-lattice relaxation. The double resonance spectra are measured in histamine and quinolinic acid. With the interest in using lead-free materials to replace lead-containing materials increasing,the use of Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5)TiO_3(NBT) has come into our sight.We studied the composition of NBT and found that NaBiTi_6O_(14) ceramics can be compositionally tuned by Mg-doping on the Ti-site to optimize the dielectric properties.In this study,Mg-doped NaBiTi_6O_(14)(NaBi(Ti_(0.98)Mg_(0.02))_60_(14-d)) ceramics were prepared by a conventional mixed oxide route at different sintering temperatures,and their dielectric properties have been studied at a wide temperature range.X-ray diffraction(XRD) patterns of the NBT-based ceramics indicate that all samples have a pure phase without any secondary impurity phase.The experimental data show that after Mg-doping,the relative permittivity and dielectric loss become lower at 1040,1060,and1080 ℃ except 1020 ℃ and at different frequencies from 10 kHz,100 kHz to 1 MHz.Take 1060 ℃ for example,when the sintering temperature is 1060 ℃ at 1 MHz,the minimum relative permittivity of NaBiTi_6O_(14) is 32.9 and the minimum dielectric loss is 0.01417,the relative permittivity of NaBi(Ti_(0.98)Mg_(0.02))_60_(14-δ) under the same condition is 25.8 and the dielectric loss is 0.000104.We explored the mechanism of Mg-doping and surprisingly found that the dielectric property of NaBi(Ti_(0.98)Mg_(0.02))_60_(14-δ) becomes better owing to Mg-doping.Thus,NaBi(Ti_(0.98)Mg_(0.02))_60_(14-δ) can be used in microwave ceramics and applied to new energy materials.  相似文献

The reaction104Ru(d, p) was investigated with high resolution (5 keV) at the Munich MP tandem using the Q3D spectrograph in conjunction with the precision time-of-flight system. The ground stateQ-value was determined as Q=3,684.5±1 keV. Proton spectra were measured at 7 angles in the range of 6.1°–65°. 19 levels could be identified in the excitation energy range 0–730 keV. Transferredl-values and spectroscopic factors of these levels were derived with the aid of DWBA calculations.  相似文献

This paper reports on the first measurement of the 16O(e, e'pn)14N reaction. Data were measured in kinematics centred on a super-parallel geometry at energy and momentum transfers of 215MeV and 316MeV/c. The experimental resolution was sufficient to distinguish groups of states in the residual nucleus but not good enough to separate individual states. The data show a strong dependence on missing momentum and this dependence appears to be different for two groups of states in the residual nucleus. Theoretical calculations of the reaction using the Pavia code do not reproduce the shape or the magnitude of the data. An erratum to this article is available at.  相似文献

We present the collision of bare ion Si 14+ with the same Z slow atom Si. It is shown that the cold-atom collisions are sensitive to the potential. In this paper, we present the cross sectiond for the most important transition from the 3p 13d 1 and 3p 14d 1 excited states. It is seen that there are large cross sections when the angle is larger than 80 degrees. With increasing energy, the cross section becomes decresasingly flat. PACS numbers: 34.70.+e, 32.80. The14N(n, p)14C cross-section for 14.7 MeV neutrons has been evaluated by the measurement of the activity of the formed14C. The value is 38±3 mb. This result was compared with calculations based on the statistical model for nuclear reactions.  相似文献

A shell-model investigation is performed to show the impact on the structure of ~(14)C from the off-diagonal cross-shell interaction, pp|V |sdsd, which represents the mixing between the 0 and 2 ω configurations in the psd model space. The observed levels of the positive states in ~(14)C can be nicely described in 0-4 ω or a larger model space through the well defined Hamiltonians, YSOX and WBP, with a reduction of the strength of the pp|V |sdsd interaction in the latter. The observed B(GT) values for ~(14)C can be generally described by YSOX, while WBP and their modifications of the〈 pp|V|sdsd〉interaction fail for some values. Further investigation shows the effect of such interactions on the configuration mixing and occupancy. The present work shows examples of how the off-diagonal cross-shell interaction strongly drives the nuclear structure.  相似文献
