We ask for the maximum σ n γ of Σ i,j=1 nx i-x jγ, where x 1,χ,x n are points in the Euclidean plane R 2 with ‖xi-xj‖ ≦1 for all 1≦ i,jn and where ‖.‖γ denotes the γ-th power of the Euclidean norm, γ ≧ 1. (For γ =1 this question was stated by L. Fejes Tóth in [1].) We calculate the exact value of σ n γ for all γ γ 1,0758χ and give the distributions which attain the maximum σ n γ . Moreover we prove upper bounds for σ n γ for all γ ≧ 1 and calculate the exact value of σ 4 γ for all γ ≧ 1. We deal with the 2‐orthogonal, 2‐symmetric self‐associated sequence (2‐orthogonal Tchebychev polynomials) and its cubic components. We prove that all the forms (linear functionals) arising are third degree forms. Therefore, an introduction to third degree forms is provided. We look for the connection between these components which are 2‐orthogonal with respect to the functional vector t(w0{μ},w1 μ) and orthogonal sequences with respect to w0 μ, μ=0,1,2. Associated forms w0 μ)1) and their inverse w0 μ)-1 are also studied through the symmetrized w0}0 μ, μ=0,1,2. Further, we give integral representations for some of these forms. We show that the associated Feller process {X t } t ≥0 on ℝ n is a semimartingale, even a homogeneous diffusion with jumps (in the sense of [21]), and characterize the limiting behaviour of its trajectories as t→0 and ∞. To this end, we introduce various indices, e.g., β x :={λ>0:lim |ξ|→∞ | x y |≤2/|ξ||p(y,ξ)|/|ξ|λ=0} or δ x :={λ>0:liminf |ξ|→∞ | x y |≤2/|ξ| |ε|≤1|p(y,|ξ|ε)|/|ξ|λ=0}, and obtain a.s. The product ϕ λ (α,β) (t1λ (α,β) (t2) of two Jacobi functions is expressed as an integral in terms of ϕ λ (α,β) (t3) with explicit non-negative kernel, when α≧β≧−1/2. In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of the solutionsu ε (ε is a small parameter) of boundaryvalue problems for the heat equation in the domain Ωε∪Ω ε + ∪γ one part of which (Ω ε + ) contains ε-periodically situated channels with diameters of order ε and the other part of which (Ω+) is a homogeneous medium; γ=∂Ω ε + ∩∂Ω+. On the boundary of the channels the Neumann boundary condition is posed, and on ∂Ωε∩∂Ω the Dirichlet boundary condition is prescribed. The homogenized problem is the Dirichlet problem in Ω with the transmission condition on γ. The estimates for the difference betweenu ε and the solution of the homogenized problem are obtained. Let 1<q<∞, n(1−1/q)≤α<∞, 0<p<∞ and ω12 ɛA 1(R n ) (the Muckenhoupt class). In this paper, the author introduce the weighted Herz-type Hardy spaces hk q α,p (gw12) and present their atomic decomposition. Using the atomic decomposition, the author find out their dual spaces, establish the boundedness on these spaces of the pseudo-differential operators of order zero and show thatD(R n ), the class of C(Rn)-functions with compactly support, is dense inhK q α,p12) and there is a subsequence, which converges in distrbutional sense to some distribution ofhK q α,p12), of any bounded sequence inhK q α,p12). Existence theorems are proved for the solutions of the first and second initial boundary-value problems for the equations of Kelvin-Voight fluids and for the penalized equations of Kelvin-Voight fluids in the smoothness classes W r (ℝ+;W 2 2+k (Ω)), W 2 r (ℝ+;W 2 2+k (Ω)) and S 2 r (ℝ+;W 2 2+k (Ω)) (r=1,2; k=0,1,2, …) under the condition that the right-hand sides f(x,t) belong to the classes W r-1 (ℝ+;W 2 k (Ω)), W 2 r-1 (ℝ+;W 2 k (Ω)) and S 2 r-1 (ℝ+;W 2 k (Ω)), respectively, and for the solutions of the first and second T-periodic boundary-value problems for the same equations in the smoothness classes W r−1 (ℝ; W 2 2+k (Ω)) and W 2 r−1 (0, T; W 2 2+k (Ω)) (r=1,2, k=0,1,2…) under the condition that f(x,t) are T-periodic and belong to the spaces W r−1 (ℝ+; W 2 k (Ω)) and W 2 r−1 (0,T; W 2 k (Ω)), respectively. It is shown that as ɛ→0, the smooth solutions {vɛ} of the perturbed initial boundary-value and T-periodic boundary-value problems for the penalized equations of Kelvin-Voight fluids converge to the corresponding smooth solutions (v,p) of the initial boundary-value and T-periodic boundary-value problems for the equations of Kelvin-Voight fluids. In this paper, we study the perturbation bounds for the polar decomposition A= QH where Q is unitary and H is Hermitian. The optimal (asymptotic) bounds obtained in previous works for the unitary factor, the Hermitian factor and singular values of A are σ2r||△Q||2F ≤ ||△A||2F,1/2||△H||2F ≤ ||△A||2F and ||△∑||2F ≤ ||△A||2F, respectively, where ∑ = diag(σ1, σ2,..., σr, 0,..., 0) is the singular value matrix of A and σr denotes the smallest nonzero singular value. Here we present some new combined (asymptotic)perturbation bounds σ2r ||△Q||2F 1/2||△H||2F≤ ||△A||2F and σ2r||△Q||2F ||△∑ ||2F ≤||△A||2F which are optimal for each factor. We consider the two-particle Schrodinger operator H(k) on the one-dimensional lattice ℤ. The operator H(π) has infinitely many eigenvalues zm(π) = v(m), m ∈ ℤ+. If the potential v increases on ℤ+, then only the eigenvalue z0(π) is simple, and all the other eigenvalues are of multiplicity two. We prove that for each of the doubly degenerate eigenvalues zm(π), m ∈ ℕ, the operator H(π) splits into two nondegenerate eigenvalues z m (k) and z m + (k) under small variations of k ∈ (π − δ, π). We show that z m (k) < z m + (k) and obtain an estimate for z m + (k) − z m (k) for k ∈ (π − δ, π). The eigenvalues z0(k) and z 1 (k) increase on [π − δ, π]. Let B be a Blaschke product with simple zeros in the unit disk, let Λ be the set of its zeros, and let ϕ∈H. It is known that ϕ+BH is a weak* generator of the algebra H/BH if (for B that satisfy the Carleson condition (C)) and only if the sequence ϕ(Λ) is a weak* generator of the algebra l. In this paper, we show that for any Blaschke product B with simple zeros that does not satisfy condition (C), there exists B=B1·…·BN, where N ∈ℕ, and B1, …, BN are Blaschke products satisfying condition (C), there exists a function ϕ∈H such that ϕ(Λ) is a weak* generator of the algebra l, and ϕ+BH is not a weak* generator of the algebra H/BH. Let ℐ(ℝn) be the Schwartz class on ℝn and ℐ(ℝn) be the collection of functions ϕ ∊ ℐ(ℝn) with additional property that
for all multiindices γ. Let (ℐ(ℝn))′ and (ℐ(ℝn))′ be their dual spaces, respectively. In this paper, it is proved that atomic Hardy spaces defined via (ℐ(ℝn))′ and (ℐ(ℝn))′ coincide with each other in some sense. As an application, we show that under the condition that the Littlewood-Paley function of f belongs to L p(ℝn) for some p ∊ (0,1], the condition f ∊ (ℐ(ℝn))′ is equivalent to that f ∊ (ℐ(ℝn))′ and f vanishes weakly at infinity. We further discuss some new classes of distributions defined via ℐ(ℝn) and ℐ(ℝn), also including their corresponding Hardy spaces.   相似文献

We say that a subset of Cn is hypoconvex if its complement is the union of complex hyperplanes. We say it is strictly hypoconvex if it is smoothly bounded hypoconvex and at every point of the boundary the real Hessian of its defining function is positive definite on the complex tangent space at that point. Let Bn be the open unit ball in Cn.Suppose K is a C compact manifold in ∂B1 × Cn, n > 1, diffeomorphic to ∂B1 × ∂Bn, each of whose fibers Kz over ∂B1 bounds a strictly hypoconvex connected open set. Let K be the polynomialhull of K. Then we show that K∖K is the union of graphs of analytic vector valued functions on B1. This result shows that an unnatural assumption regarding the deformability of K in an earlier version of this result is unnecessary. Next, we study an H optimization problem. If pis a C real-valued function on ∂B1× Cn, we show that the infimum γρ = infƒ∈H (B1)n ‖ρ(z, ƒ (z))‖ is attained by a unique bounded ƒ provided that the set (z, w) ∈ ∂B1 × C n|ρ(z, w) ≤ γρ has bounded connected strictly hypoconvex fibers over the circle.  相似文献

Let ρ be a triangulation of a polygonal domain D⊂R2 with vertices V={vi:l≤i≤Nv} and RSk(D, ρ)={u∈Ck(D): ≠ T∈ρ, u/T is a rational function}. The purpose of this paper is to study the existence and construction of Cμ-rational spline functions on any triangulation ρ for CAGD. The Hermite problem Hμ(V,U)={find u∈U: Dαu(vi)=Dαf(vi),|α|≤μ} is solved by the generalized wedge function method in rational spline function family, i.e. U=RSμ. this solution needs only the knowledge of partial derivatives of order≤μ at vi. The explicit repesentations of all Cμ-GWF(generalized wedge functions)and the interpolating operator with degree of precision at least 2μ+1 for any triangulation are given.  相似文献

An iterative scheme for constructing compactly supported orthonormal (o.n.) multi-wavelets with vanishing moments of arbitrarily high order is established. Precisely, let φ=[φ1,. . .,φr] be an r-dimensional o.n. scaling function vector with polynomial preservation of order (p.p.o.) m, and ψ=[ψ1,. . .,ψr] an o.n. multi-wavelet corresponding to φ, with two-scale symbols P and Q, respectively. Then a new (r+1)-dimensional o.n. scaling function vector φ:=[φr+1] and some corresponding o.n. multi-wavelet ψ are constructed in such a way that φ has p.p.o.=n>m and their two-scale symbols P and Q are lower and upper triangular block matrices, respectively, without increasing the size of the supports. For instance, for r=1, if we consider the mth order Daubechies o.n. scaling function φmD, then φ:=[φmD2] is a scaling function vector with p.p.o. >m. As another example, for r=2, if we use the symmetric o.n. scaling function vector φ in our earlier work, then we obtain a new pair of scaling function vector φ=[φ3] and multi-wavelet ψ that not only increase the order of vanishing moments but also preserve symmetry. In this paper, we prove the algebraic independence of the reciprocal sums of odd terms in Fibonacci numbers ∑ n=1 F 2n−1−1, ∑ n=1 F 2n−1−2, ∑ n=1 F 2n−1−3 and write each ∑ n=1 F 2n−1s (s≥4) as an explicit rational function of these three numbers over ℚ. Similar results are obtained for various series including the reciprocal sums of odd terms in Lucas numbers.   相似文献
