Effect of citric acid (CA) on microstructure and photoelectrochemical properties of WO3 films prepared by the polymeric precursor method was investigated. The obtained materials were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). The results showed that samples prepared with adding different amounts of citric acid had a pure phase of cubic. The addition of citric acid could significantly increase the particle size and change the surface of WO3 films. The photoelectrochemical measurements were performed using a standard three-electrode system cell. The films prepared from mass ratios of CA/PEG (R = 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 1) showed 1.0, 1.4, 1.7, 2.1 and 0.9 mA cm−2 at 1.2 V under illumination with a 500 W xenon lamp (I0 = 100 mW/cm2), respectively.  相似文献

TiO2 doped WO3 thin films were deposited onto glass substrates and fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO) coated conducting glass substrates, maintained at 500 °C by pyrolytic decomposition of adequate precursor solution. Equimolar ammonium tungstate ((NH4)2WO4) and titanyl acetyl acetonate (TiAcAc) solutions were mixed together at pH 9 in volume proportions and used as a precursor solution for the deposition of TiO2 doped WO3 thin films. Doping concentrations were varied between 4 and 38%. The effect of TiO2 doping concentration on structural, electrical and optical properties of TiO2 doped WO3 thin films were studied. Values of room temperature electrical resistivity, thermoelectric power and band gap energy (Eg) were estimated. The films with 38% TiO2 doping in WO3 exhibited lowest resistivity, n-type electrical conductivity and improved electrochromic performance among all the samples. The values of thermoelectric power (TEP) were in the range of 23-56 μV/K and the direct band gap energy varied between 2.72 and 2.86 eV.  相似文献

Vitreous samples containing high concentrations of WO3 (above 40% M) have been used as a target to prepare thin films. Such films were deposited using the electron beam evaporation method onto soda-lime glass substrates. These films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), perfilometry, X-ray energy dispersion spectroscopy (EDS), M-Lines and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy. In this work, experimental parameters were established to obtain stable thin films showing a chemical composition close to the glass precursor composition and with a high concentration of WO3. These amorphous thin films of about 4 μm in thickness exhibit a deep blue coloration but they can be bleached by thermal treatment near the glass transition temperature. Such bleached films show several guided modes in the visible region and have a high refractive index. Controlled crystallization was realized and thus it was possible to obtain WO3 microcrystals in the amorphous phase.  相似文献

Methanol adsorption and reaction has been studied on cerium oxide thin films that were vapor deposited on Ru(0 0 0 1). The methanol behavior was examined as a function of temperature and Ce oxidation state. Methanol reacts at low temperatures with fully oxidized CeO2 to produce water at 200 K while formaldehyde and methanol desorb near 560 K. This leads to the reduction of the ceria. On reduced ceria, more methanol can be adsorbed and it undergoes more extensive decomposition producing CO and H2 near 640 K in addition to formaldehyde and water. As the degree of ceria reduction increases, more H2 and less H2O are produced. TPD experiments using isotopically labeled CH3OD show that deuterated water is produced from the oxidized surface at low temperatures, whereas the deuterium is stabilized on the reduced surface and is incorporated into the dihydrogen that desorbs near 600 K. High resolution C 1s and O 1s XPS and C k-edge NEXAFS measurements were performed to quantify the amount of methanol adsorbed and to identify the adsorbed species.  相似文献

Thin films of tungsten trioxide (WO3) are prepared by reactive pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique on glass substrates at three different substrate temperatures (Ts). The structural, morphological and optical properties of the deposited films are systematically studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), grazing incidence X-ray diffraction (GIXRD), micro-Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and UV-VIS spectrophotometry techniques. X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that crystalline WO3 films can grow effectively even at 300 K at an oxygen pressure of 0.12 mbar. All the films deposited at various Ts exhibit mixed oxide phase consisting of orthorhombic and triclinic phase of tungsten oxide with a preferred orientation along (0 0 1) lattice plane reflection. Micro-Raman results are consistent with X-ray diffraction findings. The SEM analysis shows that deposited films are porous and crystalline grains are of nano-metric dimension. The effect of Ts on mean surface roughness studied by AFM analysis reveals that mean surface roughness decreases with increase in Ts. The optical response of WO3 layers measured using UV-VIS spectrophotometry is used to extract the optical constants such as refractive index (n), extinction coefficient (k) and optical band gap (Eg), following the method of Swanepoel.  相似文献

We report on the effect of oxygen partial pressure and vacuum annealing on structural and optical properties of pulsed laser-deposited nanocrystalline WO3 thin films. XRD results show the hexagonal phase of deposited WO3 thin films. The crystallite size was observed to increase with increase in oxygen partial pressure. Vacuum annealing changed the transparent as-deposited WO3 thin film to deep shade of blue color which increases the optical absorption of the film. The origin of this blue color could be due to the presence of oxygen vacancies associated with tungsten ions in lower oxidation states. In addition, the effects of VO2 content on structural, electrochemical, and optical properties of (WO3)1−x (VO2) x nanocomposite thin films have also been systematically investigated. Cyclic voltammogram exhibits a modification with the appearance of an extra cathodic peak for VO2–WO3 thin film electrode with higher VO2 content (x ≥ 0.2). Increase of VO2 content in (WO3)1−x (VO2) x films leads to red shift in optical band gap.  相似文献

Pure TiO2 and nitrogen doped titanium dioxide (N-TiO2) thin films were prepared by sol-gel method through spin coating on soda lime glass substrates. TiCl4 and urea were used as Ti and N sources in the sol. XRD results showed nitrogen doping has retarded anatase to rutile phase transformation. The doping also leads to a decrease in roughness of the samples from 4 nm (TiO2) to 1 nm (N-TiO2). However, surface analysis by statistical methods reveals that both surfaces have self-affine structure. Optical band gap of thin films was shifted from 3.65 eV (TiO2) to 3.47 eV (N-TiO2). Hydrophilic conversion and photocatalytic degradation properties of thin films were investigated and exhibited that N-TiO2 thin film has more preferable hydrophilicity and photocatalytic properties under UV illumination.  相似文献

Novel Pd/InVO4-TiO2 thin films with visible light photocatalytic activity were synthesized from the Pd and InVO2 co-doped TiO2 sol via sol-gel method. The photocatalytic activities of Pd/InVO4-TiO2 thin films were investigated based on the oxidative decomposition of methyl orange in aqueous solution. The as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy (UV-vis). The results indicate that the Pd/InVO4-TiO2 thin films are compact, uniform and consist of sphere nanoparticles with diameters about 80-100 nm. The UV-vis spectra show that the Pd/InVO4-TiO2 thin films extend the light absorption spectrum toward the visible region. XPS results reveal that doped Pd exist in the form of metallic palladium. The photocatalytic experiments demonstrate that Pd doping can effectively enhance the photocatalytic activities of InVO4-TiO2 thin films in decomposition of aqueous methyl orange under visible light irradiation. It has been confirmed that Pd/InVO4-TiO2 thin films could be excited by visible light (E < 3.2 eV) due to the existence of the Pd and InVO4 doped in the films.  相似文献

RuSex electrocatalytic nanoparticles were deposited onto hybrid carriers composed of Black Pearl carbon-supported tungsten oxide; and the resulting system's electrochemical activity was investigated during oxygen reduction reaction. The tungsten oxide-utilizing and RuSex nanoparticle-containing materials were characterized using transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and electrochemical diagnostic techniques such as cyclic voltammetry and rotating ring-disk voltammetry. Application of Black Pearl carbon carriers modified with ultra-thin films of WO3 as matrices (supports) for RuSex catalytic centers results during electroreduction of oxygen in 0.5 mol dm−3 H2SO4 (under rotating disk voltammetric conditions) in the potential shift of ca. 70 mV towards more positive values relative to the behavior of the analogous WO3-free system. Also the percent formation (at ring in the rotating ring-disk voltammetry) of the undesirable hydrogen peroxide has been decreased approximately twice by utilizing WO3-modified carbon carriers. The results are consistent with the bifunctional mechanism in which oxygen reduction is initiated at RuSex centers and the hydrogen peroxide intermediate is reductively decomposed at reactive WO3-modified Black Pearl supports. The electrocatalytic activity of the system utilizing WO3-modified Black Pearl supports has been basically unchanged upon addition of acetic acid, formic acid or methyl formate to the sulfuric acid supporting electrolyte.  相似文献

Pure VO2 and VO2-WO3 composite thin films were grown on quartz substrate by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. The influence of varying WO3 molar concentration in the range from x = 0.0 to x = 0.4 on structural, electrical and optical properties of VO2-WO3 nanocomposite thin films has been systematically investigated. X-ray diffraction studies reveal the single crystalline monoclinic VO2 phase (m-VO2) up to 10% of WO3 content whereas both m-VO2 as well as h-WO3 (hexagonal WO3) phases were present at higher WO3 content (0.2 ≤ x ≤ 0.4). Optical transmittance spectra of the films showed blue shift in the absorption edge with increase in WO3 content. Temperature dependence of resistivity (R-T) measurements indicates significant variation in metal-insulator transition temperature, width of the hysteresis, and shape of the hysteresis curve. Cyclic Voltammetry measurements were performed on VO2-WO3 thin films. A direct correlation between V/W ratio and structure-property relationship was established. The present investigations reveal that doping of WO3 in VO2 is effective to increase the optical transmittance and to reduce the semiconductor to metal phase transition temperature close to room temperature.  相似文献

Silver antimony selenide (AgSbSe2) thin films were prepared by heating sequentially deposited multilayers of antimony sulphide (Sb2S3), silver selenide (Ag2Se), selenium (Se) and silver (Ag). Sb2S3 thin film was prepared from a chemical bath containing SbCl3 and Na2S2O3, Ag2Se from a solution containing AgNO3 and Na2SeSO3 and Se thin films from an acidified solution of Na2SeSO3, at room temperature on glass substrates. Ag thin film was deposited by thermal evaporation. The annealing temperature was 350 °C in vacuum (10−3 Torr) for 1 h. X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the thin films formed were polycrystalline AgSbSe2 or AgSb(S,Se)2 depending on selenium content in the precursor films. Morphology and elemental analysis of these films were done using scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Optical band gap was evaluated from the UV-visible absorption spectra of these films. Electrical characterizations were done using Hall effect and photocurrent measurements. A photovoltaic structure: glass/ITO/CdS/AgSbSe2/Al was formed, in which CdS was deposited by chemical bath deposition. J-V characteristics of this structure showed Voc = 435 mV and Jsc = 0.08 mA/cm2 under illumination using a tungsten halogen lamp. Preparation of a photovoltaic structure using AgSbSe2 as an absorber material by a non-toxic selenization process is achieved.  相似文献

The thermal evolution process of IrO2-SnO2/Ti mixed oxide thin films of varying noble metal content has been investigated under in situ conditions by thermogravimetry-mass spectrometry, Fourier transform infrared emission spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The gel-like films prepared from aqueous solutions of the precursor salts Sn(OH)2(CH3COO)2−xClx and H2IrCl6 on titanium metal support were heated in an atmosphere containing 20% O2 and 80% Ar up to 600 °C.The thermal decomposition reactions practically take place in two separate temperature ranges from ambient to about 250 °C and between 300 and 600 °C. In the low temperature range the liberation of solution components and - to a limited extent - an oxidative cracking reaction of the acetate ligand takes place catalyzed by the noble metal. In the high temperature range the evolution of chlorine as well as the decomposition of surface species formed (carbonyls, carboxylates, carbonates) can be observed. The acetate ligand shows extreme high stability and is decomposed in the 400-550 °C range, only.Since the formation and decomposition of the organic surface species can significantly influence the morphology (and thus the electrochemical properties) of the films, the complete understanding of the film evolution process is indispensable to optimize the experimental conditions of electrode preparation.  相似文献

Regarding gel poly (vinyl alcohol)/H3PW12O40 as precursor, the ultra-fine fibers tungsten oxide (WO3) was prepared by using electrospinning and calcinating techniques. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) shows that the average diameter of fibrous WO3 were changed from 200 nm to 600 nm after calcined PVA/H3PW12O40 fibers at 600 and 800 °C, respectively. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscope revealed that the fibrous WO3 was monoclinic phase, and the band-gap energies were observed by UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectra. The small size WO3 exhibits excellent photocatalytcic activity in degradation of Rhodamine B at 365 nm wavelength.  相似文献

Thin films of lead sulfide (PbS) nanoparticles were grown on corning glass and Si(1 0 0) substrates by polyethylene glycol-assisted chemical bath deposition (CBD) method. This paper compares the morphology and the luminescence properties (PL) of the deposited thin films in the presence (or absence) of PEG300 and investigates the effect of deposition temperatures. Surface morphology and photoluminescence properties of samples were analyzed. The PL data show a blue-shift from the normal emission at ∼2900 nm in PbS bulk to ∼360 nm in nanoparticles of PbS thin films. Furthermore, the PL emission of the films obtained without the addition of PEG300 (type 1) was slightly shifted from that of the films obtained in presence of PEG300 (type 2) from ∼360 to ∼470 nm. The blue-shifting of the emission wavelengths from 2900 to ∼360 or 470 nm is attributed to quantum confinement of charge carriers in the restricted volume of nanoparticles, while the shift between the two types of PbS nanoparticles thin films is speculated to be due to an increase in the defect concentration. The blue-shift increased with increase of the deposition temperature, which suggests that there has been a relative depletion in particle sizes during the CBD of the films at higher temperatures. The PbS nanocrystalline thin films obtained in the presence of PEG300 at 60 °C exhibit a high blue luminescence.  相似文献

Pb1−XLaXTiO3 thin films, (X=0.0; 13 and 0.27 mol%) were prepared by the polymeric precursor method. Thin films were deposited on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si (1 1 1), Si (1 0 0) and glass substrates by spin coating, and annealed in the 200-300°C range in an O2 atmosphere. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy were used for the microstructural characterization of the thin films. Photoluminescence (PL) at room temperature has been observed in thin films of (PbLa)TiO3. The films deposited on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates present PL intensity greater than those deposited on glass and silicon substrates. The intensity of PL in these thin films was found to be dependent on the thermal treatment and lanthanum molar concentration.  相似文献

Anatase thin films (<200 nm in thickness) embedding Degussa P25 TiO2 were prepared by sol-gel method. TiO2-anatase thin films were deposited on a fiberglass substrate and then ground to obtain glass microrods containing the composite films. The film structure was characterized using Raman spectroscopy, atomic absorption and UV-vis spectrophotometry, and atomic force microscopy. The photocatalytic activity of the composite films, calcined at 450 °C, and the regeneration of the activity under the same experimental conditions, were assessed using gas chromatography to study the photodegradation of phenol, an industrial pollutant, in water under 365 nm irradiation. The film with 15.0 wt.% of P25 TiO2 was found to be more photoactive (54 ppm of degraded phenol at 6 h of illumination) than the other ones.  相似文献

The effect of Li (0-5 wt%) doping on the properties of WO3 thin films deposited using an automated homemade spray pyrolysis unit is studied. Change in structural and optical properties is observed on doping with Li. The XRD patterns shows that undoped WO3 film has an orthorhombic phase while the Li (1-5 wt%) doped WO3 films have tetragonal phase. The SEM and AFM images confirm relatively smooth surface of Li doped WO3 films compared to undoped WO3 film. Transmission spectra reveal that the transparency of the Li-doped films is much greater than that of undoped film. From the transmission data, the direct, indirect bandgap and phonon energies were calculated. Room temperature photoluminescence spectra showed pronounced blue emission on doping with Li.  相似文献

Layer-by-layer (LbL) deposition of CuInS2 (CIS) thin films at room temperature (25 °C) from alkaline CuSO4 + In2(SO4)3 and Na2S precursor solutions was reported. The method allowed self-limited growth of CIS films with nanocrystalline structure and composed of densely packed nanometer-sized grains. The as-deposited CIS film was 250 nm thick and composed of closely packed particles of 20-30 nm in diameter. The alkaline cationic precursor solution was obtained by dissolving CuSO4 and InSO4 in deionized water with a appropriate amount of hydrazine monohydrate (H-H) and 2,2′,2″-nitrilotriethanol (TEA). CIS films were annealed at 200 °C for 2 h and effect of annealing on structural, optical, and surface morphological properties was thoroughly investigated by means of X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, UV-vis spectrometer, C-V, and water contact angle techniques, respectively.  相似文献

In this paper, porous WO3 films were prepared by anodic oxidation of metallic tungsten (W) films deposited on alumina substrates. The structural and morphological properties of the porous WO3 films were investigated using field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). A large number of cracks appeared on the surface of films after anodization, which makes the films porous. The porous WO3 sensors achieved their maximum response values to NO2 at a low operating temperature of 150 °C. The porous WO3 sensors showed high response values, great stability and fast response-recovery characteristics to different concentration of NO2 gas due to the high specific surface area and special structural and morphological properties.  相似文献

Ag2Cu2O3 films were deposited on glass substrates by reactive sputtering of a composite silver-copper target. The deposited films were annealed in air at 100, 200 and 300 °C. The structure of the films was studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), their surface morphology was characterised using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and their electrical resistivity at room temperature was measured using the four point probe method. The 100 °C annealing did not modify either the film structure or the film morphology. On the other hand, Ag2Cu2O3 films were partially decomposed into Ag and CuO after a 200 °C annealing. The decomposition was complete for a 300 °C annealing. The evolution of the film surface morphology as a function of the annealing temperature was discussed in connection to the evolution of the molar volume of the phases constituting the films.  相似文献
