Nano-structured Platinum-Yttria Stabilized Zirconia (YSZ) composites for oxygen potentiometric sensors were directly prepared with carbon black and the precursors such as chloroplatinic acid, zirconyl nitrate and yttrium nitrate. The as-prepared Pt-YSZ composite consisted of cubic crystalline YSZ and Pt particles, and the particle sizes of Pt catalyst and YSZ electrolyte were about 25-35 and 5-10 nm, respectively. The Pt-YSZ composite electrodes exhibited excellent electrochemical performances when evaluated by EIS measurements. The introduction of the nano-structured Pt-YSZ composite into the oxygen potentiometric sensor can reduce sensor's operating temperature to be about 380 °C, and also can reduce sensor's response time to be about 5 s at 400 °C. The oxygen potentiometric sensors incorporating nano-structured Pt-YSZ composites exhibited longer lifetime than those employing pure Pt as the sensing electrodes.  相似文献

From measurements of the charge flowing upon immersion, at controlled potential, of a CO-covered Pt(1 1 1) electrode in a 0.1 M HClO4 solution, the corresponding surface charge density vs. potential curve was obtained, and from this the potential of zero charge (pzc) of the CO-covered Pt(1 1 1) electrode. From these data it was estimated that the error incurred when the potential of zero total charge (pztc) of Pt(1 1 1) electrodes is determined by the CO-charge displacement method is of approximately 50 mV at pH 1 and of approximately 90 mV at pH 3. Furthermore, the experimentally determined pzc of the CO-covered Pt(1 1 1) electrode has allowed us to make an estimation of the potential of zero free charge (pzfc) of Pt(1 1 1) electrodes.  相似文献

Self-assembled monolayer (SAM) techniques were used to adsorb 4-aminothiophenol (4-ATP) on platinum electrodes in order to obtain an amino-terminated SAM as the base for the chemical attachment of single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs). A physico-chemical, morphological and electrochemical characterizations of SWCNTs attached onto the modified Pt electrodes was done by using reflection-absorption infrared spectroscopy (RAIR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and cyclic voltammetry (CV) techniques. The SWNTs/4-ATP/Pt surface had regions of small, medium, and large thickness of carbon nanotubes with heights of 100-200 nm, 700 nm to 1.5 μm, and 1.0-3.0 μm, respectively. Cyclic voltammetries (CVs) in sulfuric acid demonstrated that attachment of SWNTs on 4-ATP/Pt is markedly stable, even after 30 potential cycles. CV in ruthenium hexamine was similar to bare Pt electrodes, suggesting that SWNTs assembly is similar to a closely packed microelectrode array.  相似文献

Poly(3-methylthiophene) (P3MT)-based porous silicon (PS) substrates were fabricated and characterized by cyclic voltammetry, scanning electron microscopy, and auger electron spectroscopy. After doping urease (Urs) into the polymeric matrix, sensitivity and physicochemical properties of the P3MT-based PS substrate was investigated compared to planar silicon (PLS) and bulk Pt substrates. PS substrate was formed by electrochemical anodization in an etching solution composed of HF, H2O, and ethanol. Subsequently, Ti and Pt thin-films were sputtered on the PS substrate. Effective working electrode area (Aeff) of the Pt-deposited PS substrate was determined from a redox reaction of Fe(CN)63−/Fe(CN)64− redox couple in which nearly reversible cyclic voltammograms were obtained. The ip versus v1/2 plots showed that Aeff of the PS-based Pt thin-film electrode was 1.62 times larger than that of the PLS-based electrode.Electropolymerization of P3MT on both types of electrodes were carried out by the anodic potential scanning under the given potential range. And then, urease molecules were doped to the P3MT film by the chronoamperometry. Direct electrochemistry of a Urs/P3MT/Pt/Ti/PS electrode in an acetonitrile solution containing 0.1 mol/L NaClO4 was introduced compared to a P3MT/Pt/Ti/PS electrode at scan rates of 10 mV s−1, 50 mV s−1, and 100 mV s−1.Amperometric sensitivity of the Urs/P3MT/Pt/Ti/PS electrode was ca. 1.67 μA mM−1 per projected unit square centimeter, and that of the Urs/P3MT/Pt/Ti/PLS electrode was ca. 1.02 μA mM−1 per projected unit square centimeter in a linear range of 1-100 mM urea concentrations. 1.6 times of sensitivity increase was coincident with the results from cyclic voltammetrc analysis.Surface morphology from scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images of Pt-deposited PS electrodes before and after the coating of Urs-doped P3MT films showed that pore diameter and depth were 2 μm and 10 μm, respectively. Multilayered-film structures composed of metals and organics for both electrodes were also confirmed by auger electron spectroscopy (AES) depth profiles.  相似文献

A method of heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) potentially suitable for probe-based storage systems is characterized. In this work, field emission current from a scanning tunneling microscope (STM) tip is used as the heating source. Pulse voltages of 2–7 V were applied to a CoNi/Pt multilayered film fabricated on either bare silicon or oxidized silicon substrates. Different types of Ir/Pt and W STM tips were used in the experiment. The results show that thermally recorded magnetic marks are formed with a nearly uniform mark size of 170 nm on the film fabricated on bare silicon substrate when the pulse voltage is above a threshold voltage. The mark size becomes 260 nm when they are written on the identical film fabricated on an oxidized silicon substrate. The threshold voltage depends on the material work function of the tip, with W having a threshold voltage about 1 V lower than Pt. A synthesized model, which contains the calculation of the emission current, the simulation of heat transfer during heating, and the study of magnetic domain formation, was introduced to explain experimental results. The simulation agrees well with the experiments.  相似文献

In situ electrochemical scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) has been used to examine the structures of benzenethiol adlayers on Au(1 0 0) and Pt(1 0 0) electrodes in 0.1 M HClO4, revealing the formation of well-ordered adlattices of Au(1 0 0)-(√2 × √5) between 0.2 and 0.9 V and Pt(1 0 0)-(√2 × √2)R45° between 0 and 0.5 V (versus reversible hydrogen electrode), respectively. The coverage of Au(1 0 0)-(√2 × √5) is 0.33, which is identical to those observed for upright alkanethiol admolecules on Au(1 1 1). In comparison, the coverage of Pt(1 0 0)-(√2 × √2)R45° - benzenethiol is 0.5, much higher than those of thiol molecules on gold surfaces. This result suggests that benzenethiol admolecules on Pt(1 0 0) could stand even more upright than those on Au(1 0 0). All benzenethiol admolecules were imaged by the STM as protrusions with equal corrugation heights, suggesting identical molecular registries on Au(1 0 0) and Pt(1 0 0) electrodes, respectively. Modulation of the potential of a benzenethiol-coated Au(1 0 0) electrode resulted in irreversible desorption of admolecules at E ? 0.1 V (vs. reversible hydrogen electrode) and oxidation of admolecules at E ? 0.9 V. In contrast, benzenethiol admolecule was not desorbed from Pt(1 0 0) at potentials as negative as the onset of hydrogen evolution. Raising the potential rendered deposition of more benzenethiol molecules before oxidation of admolecules commenced at E > 0.9 V.  相似文献

This study employs RF magnetron sputter technique to deposit high C-axis preferred orientation ZnO thin film on silicon substrate, which is then used as the piezoelectric thin film for a thin film bulk acoustic resonator (FBAR). Electrical properties of the FBAR component were investigated by sputtering a ZnO thin film on various bottom electrode materials, as well as varying sputter power, sputter pressure, substrate temperature, argon and oxygen flow rate ratio, so that structural parameters of each layer were changed. The experimental results show that when sputter power is 200 W, sputter pressure is 10 mTorr, substrate temperature is 300 °C, and argon to oxygen ratio is 4:6, the ZnO thin film has high C-axis preferred orientation. The FBAR component made in this experiment show that different bottom electrode materials have great impact on components. In the experiment, the Pt bottom electrode resonant frequency was clearly lower than the Mo bottom electrode resonant frequency, because Pt has higher mass density and lower acoustic wave rate. The component resonant frequency will decrease as ZnO thin film thickness increases; when top electrode thickness is higher, its resonant frequency also drops, due to top electrode mass loading effect and increased acoustic wave path. Therefore, ZnO thin film and top/bottom electrode thickness can be fine-tuned according to the required resonant frequency.  相似文献

We have investigated the structure of Co2MnSi/MgO/Co2MnSi magnetic tunneling junctions with different tunnel magnetoresistance values depending on the in situ annealing temperatures just after the deposition of the upper Co2MnSi electrodes. The nano-beam diffraction patterns indicated that the degree of order of the upper Co2MnSi electrode annealed at 550 °C was higher than that of an electrode annealed at 400 °C. Moreover, the degree of the L21 order of the upper Co2MnSi electrode annealed at 550 °C was even lower than that of the lower Co2MnSi electrode annealed at an almost equal temperature of 600 °C. Atomic-scale observation using a high-angle annular dark-field (HAADF) method distinctly showed the existence of the L21-ordered regions in the B2-ordered matrix in the upper Co2MnSi electrode annealed at 400 °C.  相似文献

By use of the membrane-template synthesis route, MnO2 nanowire arrayed electrodes are successfully synthesized by means of the anodic deposition technique. The Pt nanoparticles composited MnO2 nanowire arrayed electrodes (PME) are obtained through depositing Pt on MnO2 nanowire arrayed electrode by cathode deposition technique. For comparison of electrochemical performance, Pt nanowire arrayed electrodes which have the same amount of Pt with PME are also prepared. The electro-oxidation of methanol on PME and Pt nanowire arrayed electrodes is investigated at room temperature by cyclic voltammetry, which show that about 110 mV decreased overpotential and 2.1-fold enhanced votammetric current are achieved on PME. The chronoamperometry result demonstrates that the resistance to carbon monoxide for PME is improved.  相似文献

Crystalline coiled carbon nano/micro fibers in thin film form have been synthesized via direct current plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) on copper substrates with acetylene as a carbon precursor at 10 mbar pressure and 750 °C substrate temperature. The as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). XRD pattern as well as selected area electron diffraction (SAED) pattern showed that the samples were crystalline in nature. SEM and HRTEM studies showed that as synthesized coiled carbon fibers are having average diameter ∼100 nm and are several micrometers in length. The as-prepared samples showed moderately good electron field emission properties with a turn-on field as low as 1.96 V/μm for an inter-electrode distance 220 μm. The variation of field emission properties with inter-electrode distance has been studied in detail. The field emission properties of the coiled carbon fibrous thin films are compared with that of crystalline multiwalled carbon nanotubes and other carbon nanostructures.  相似文献

The carbon nanofibers were grown on Ni/Si and Ni/Ti/Si substrates in 1 atm CH4 atmosphere at 640 °C and 700 °C by thermal chemical vapor deposition method. The carbon nanofibers were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and Raman spectrometry for morphology, microstructure, and crystallinity. The electron emission property of carbon nanofibers was also investigated by current-voltage (I-V) measurement. The results showed that the solid amorphous carbon nanofibers could be grown on Ni/Si substrate at 640 °C through tip growth mechanism, the carbon nanotubes could be grown on Ni/Si substrate at 700 °C through tip growth mechanism, and the carbon nanotubes could be grown on Ni/Ti/Si substrate at 700 °C through root growth mechanism.  相似文献

The adsorption properties of CO on Pt3Sn were investigated by utilizing quantum mechanical calculations. The (1 1 1), (1 1 0) and (0 0 1) surfaces of Pt3Sn were generated with all possible bulk terminations, and on these terminations all types of active sites were determined. The adsorption energies and the geometries of the CO molecule at those sites were found. Those results were compared with the results obtained from the adsorption of CO on similar sites of Pt(1 1 1), Pt(1 1 0) and Pt(0 0 1) surfaces. The comparison reveals that adsorption of CO is stronger on Pt surfaces; this may be the reason why catalysts with Pt3Sn phase do not suffer from CO posioning in experimental works. Aiming to understand the interactions between CO and the metal adsorption sites in detail, the local density of states (LDOS) profiles were produced for atop-Pt adsorption, both for the carbon end of CO for its adsorbed and free states, and for the Pt atom of the binding site. LDOS profiles of C of free and adsorbed CO and Pt for corresponding pure Pt surfaces, Pt(1 1 1), Pt(1 1 0) and Pt(0 0 1) were also obtained. The comparison of the LDOS profiles of Pt atoms of atop adsorption sites on the same faces of bare Pt3Sn and Pt surfaces showed the effect of alloying with Sn on the electronic properties of Pt atoms. Comparison of LDOS profiles of the C end of CO in its free and atop adsorbed states on Pt3Sn and LDOS of Pt on bare and CO adsorbed Pt3Sn surface were used to clear out the electronic changes occurred on CO and Pt upon adsorption. The study showed that (i) inclusion of a Sn atom at the adsorption site structure causes dramatic decrease in stability which limits the number of possible CO adsorption sites on Pt3Sn surface, (ii) the presence of Sn causes angles different from 180° for M-C-O orientation, (iii) the presence of Sn in the neighborhood of Pt on which CO is adsorbed causes superposition of the 5σ/1π derived-state peaks at the carbon end of CO and changes in adsorption energy of CO, (iv) Sn present beneath the adsorption site strengthens the CO adsorption, whereas neighboring Sn on the surface weakens it for all Pt3Sn surfaces tested and (v) the most stable site for CO adsorption is the atop-Pt site of the mixed atom termination of Pt3Sn(1 1 0).  相似文献

Model electrodes consisting of platinum dots with a mean diameter of (30 ± 5) nm and heights of 3–5 nm upon highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) were prepared by electron beam lithography and subsequent sputtering. The Pt nanodot arrays were stable during scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM) measurements in air and in sulphuric acid electrolyte, indicating the presence of “anchors”, immobilising the dots on the HOPG surface.Electrochemical STM was used to visualise potential induced Pt, carbon and Pt-influenced carbon corrosion in situ in 0.5 M sulphuric acid under ambient conditions. Potentiostatic hold experiments show that the Pt dots start to disappear at electrode potentials of E > 1.4 V vs. SHE. With increasing time and potential a hole pattern congruent to the original dot pattern appears on the HOPG basal planes. Corrosion and peeling of the HOPG substrate could also be followed in situ.Dissolution of Pt dots appears to be accelerated for potential cycling experiments compared to the potential hold statistics.  相似文献

In this study, we investigated the effects of lithium phosphorus oxynitride (LiPON) solid electrolyte thin-film deposition on the electrochemical performance and thermal stability of pristine graphite and carbon-coated graphite composite anodes. The LiPON film was deposited by radio frequency (rf) magnetron sputtering. We studied the thermal stability of the lithiated electrodes when immersed in the presence of a liquid electrolyte by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).The LiPON thin-film coating suppressed the impedance growth during the cycling process and inhibited the reaction between the lithiated electrode and the electrolyte, thus improving the cycle performance and thermal stability of the graphite electrode. However, for the carbon-coated graphite electrode, the heat evolution below 250 °C decreased, whereas that below 300 °C increased. We attributed this phenomenon to the low thermal stability of the LiPON thin-film coating owing to an exothermic reaction between the LiPON film and the electrolyte that occurs at approximately 290 °C.  相似文献

The field emission properties of electrophoretic deposition(EPD) carbon nanotubes (CNTs) film have been improved by depositing CNTs onto the titanium (Ti)-coated Si substrate, followed by vacuum annealing at 900 °C for 2 h, and the enhanced emission mechanism has been studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Raman spectroscopy. Field emission measurements showed that the threshold electric field was decreased and the emission current stability was improved compared to that of EPD CNTs film on bare Si substrate. XRD and Raman spectroscopy investigations revealed that vacuum annealing treatment not only decreased the structural defects of CNTs but made a titanium carbide interfacial layer formed between CNTs and substrate. The field emission enhancement could be attributed to the improved graphitization of CNTs and the improved contact properties between CNTs and substrate including electrical conductivity and adhesive strength due to the formed conductive titanium carbide.  相似文献

Carbon-based films with nitrogen species on their surface were prepared on a glassy carbon (GC) substrate for application as a non-platinum cathode catalyst for polymer electrolyte fuel cells. Cobalt and carbon were deposited in the presence of N2 gas using a pulsed laser deposition method and then the metal Co was removed by HCl-washing treatment. Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity was electrochemically determined using a rotating disk electrode system in which the film samples on the GC substrate were replaceable. The ORR activity increased with the temperature of the GC substrate during deposition. A carbon-based film prepared at 600 °C in the presence of N2 at 66.7 Pa showed the highest ORR activity among the tested samples (0.66 V vs. NHE). This film was composed of amorphous carbons doped with pyridine type nitrogen atoms on its surface.  相似文献

Alignment carbon nanotubes (ACNTs) were synthesized on silicon substrate coated with Ni catalyst film and Ta buffer layer by plasma-enhanced hot filament chemical vapor deposition using CH4, NH3, and H2 as the reaction gas, and they were investigated by scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. It is found that the diameter of the bamboo-structured ACNTs is increased from 62 to 177 nm when the substrate temperature was changed from 626 to 756 °C. Their growth rate is enhanced by the substrate temperature in a range of 626-683 °C and it is reversely reduced with the substrate temperature after the substrate temperature is over 683 °C. Beginning with wetting phenomenon, the effects of the substrate temperature on the structure and growth rate of the ACNTs are analyzed.  相似文献

In this paper cerium nano-oxide films were applied on AA7020-T6 alloy by sol-gel method. Potentiodynamic polarization and EIS studies have been used to study the corrosion behavior of cerium oxide nano films in 3.5% NaCl. Microstructural and phase properties of cerium oxide were investigated by SEM and XRD. The results showed that heat-treatment temperature and pre-treatment have an important effect on microstructure and electrochemical properties of cerium nano-oxide films. It can be seen from the results that with increasing heat-treatment temperature from 150 to 300 °C, the corrosion resistance of the films increased. It is related to increase the condensation of the films with adding temperature. Also, it can be seen that with adding temperature from 300 to 400 °C, the corrosion resistance of the films decrease. This is an important case related to crystallization of the cerium oxide films between 300 and 400 °C which showed that crystallized ceria films illustrate less corrosion resistance with respect to an amorphous film. Although with applying cerium oxide films the corrosion resistance of the films increased but still the passive region of the ceria films was tiny. So that in this research especially pre-treatment (etching in NaOH solution for 1 min, washing with deionized water for 5 min, etching with acid solution which contained several acids (H2SO4, HF, HCl, H3PO4), washing with deionized water for 5 min and after that following the samples in boiling deionized water for 1 h) was applied on samples before ceria treatment. The results showed that after applying this pre-treatment the passive region of the films increased extremely. It is related to formation of the thick and porous alumina films after applying pre-treatment which are similar to millepore.  相似文献

Highly ordered titanium oxide (TiO2) nanotubes were prepared by electrolytic anodization of titanium electrodes. Morphological evolution and phase transformations of TiO2 nanotubes on a Ti substrate and that of freestanding TiO2 membranes during the calcinations process were studied by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction microscopy. The detailed results and mechanisms on the morphology and crystalline structure were presented. Our results show that a compact layer exists between the tubular layer and Ti substrate at 600 °C, and the length of the nanotubes shortens dramatically at 750 °C. The freestanding membranes have many particles on their tubes during calcinations from 450 to 900 °C. The TiO2 nanotubes on the Ti substrate transform to rutile crystals at 600 °C, while the freestanding TiO2 membranes retain an anatase crystal with increasing temperature to 800 °C. The photocatalytic activity of TiO2 nanotubes on a Ti substrate annealed at different temperatures was investigated by the degradation of methyl orange in aqueous solution under UV light irradiation. Due to the anatase crystals in the tubular layer and rutile crystals in the compact layer, TiO2 nanotubes annealed at 450 °C with pure anatase crystals have a better photocatalytic activity than those annealed at 600 °C or 750 °C.  相似文献

We describe measurements of the X-ray reflectance in the range 2-10 keV of samples representative of coated silicon wafers that are proposed for the fabrication of the X-ray evolving universe spectrometer (XEUS) mission. We compare the reflectance of silicon samples coated with bare Pt, with that for samples with an additional 10 nm thick carbon over-coating. We demonstrate a significant improvement in reflectance in the energy range ∼1-4 keV, and at a grazing incidence angle of 10 mrad (0.57°). We consider the resulting effective area that could be attained with an optimized design of the XEUS telescope. Typically an improvement of 10-60% in effective area, depending on photon energy, can be achieved using the carbon overcoat.  相似文献
