Let ζ be a primitive fifth root of unity and let F be the cyclotomic field . Let be the ring of integers. We compute the Voronoï polyhedron of binary Hermitian forms over F and classify -conjugacy classes of perfect forms. The combinatorial data of this polyhedron can be used to compute the cohomology of the arithmetic group and Hecke eigenforms.  相似文献

We prove the relative asymptotic behavior for the ratio of two sequences of multiple orthogonal polynomials with respect to the Nikishin systems of measures. The first Nikishin system is such that for each k, σk has a constant sign on its compact support consisting of an interval , on which almost everywhere, and a discrete set without accumulation points in . If denotes the smallest interval containing , we assume that ΔkΔk+1=0/, k=1,…,m−1. The well-known density theorem for one-dimensional Gabor systems of the form , where , states that a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of such a system whose linear span is dense in , or which forms a frame for , is that the density condition is satisfied. The main goal of this paper is to study the analogous problem for Gabor systems for which the window function g vanishes outside a periodic set which is -shift invariant. We obtain measure-theoretic conditions that are necessary and sufficient for the existence of a window g such that the linear span of the corresponding Gabor system is dense in L2(S). Moreover, we show that if this density condition holds, there exists, in fact, a measurable set with the property that the Gabor system associated with the same parameters a,b and the window g=χE, forms a tight frame for L2(S).  相似文献

The problem of finding the correct asymptotic rate of approximation by polynomial loops in dependence of the smoothness of the elements of a loop group seems not well-understood in general. For matrix Lie groups such as , it can be viewed as a problem of nonlinearly constrained trigonometric approximation. Motivated by applications to optical FIR filter design and control, we present some initial results for the case of -loops, N≥2. In particular, using representations via the exponential map and first order splitting methods, we prove that the best approximation of an -loop belonging to a Hölder–Zygmund class , α>1/2, by a polynomial -loop of degree ≤n is of the order O(nα/(1+α)) as n. Although this approximation rate is not considered final, to our knowledge it is the first general, nontrivial result of this type.  相似文献

A sequence of continuous linear operators is said to be hypercyclic if there exists a vector , called hypercyclic for , such that {Tnx:n0} is dense. A continuous linear operator, acting on some suitable function space, is PDE-preserving for a given set of convolution operators, when it map every kernel set for these operators invariantly. We give conditions under which an n-star module extends to an n-star module, or an n-tilting module, over a ring extension R of A. In case that R is a split extension of A by Q, we obtain that is a 1-tilting module (respectively, a 1-star module) if and only if is a 1-tilting module (respectively, a 1-star module) and generates both and (respectively, generates ), where is an injective cogenerator in the category of all left A-modules. These extend results in [I. Assem, N. Marmaridis, Tilting modules over split-by-nilpotent extensions, Comm. Algebra 26 (1998) 1547–1555; K.R. Fuller, *-Modules over ring extensions, Comm. We study algorithms for the approximation of functions, the error is measured in an L2 norm. We consider the worst case setting for a general reproducing kernel Hilbert space of functions. We analyze algorithms that use standard information consisting in n function values and we are interested in the optimal order of convergence. This is the maximal exponent b for which the worst case error of such an algorithm is of order n-b.Let p be the optimal order of convergence of all algorithms that may use arbitrary linear functionals, in contrast to function values only. So far it was not known whether p>b is possible, i.e., whether the approximation numbers or linear widths can be essentially smaller than the sampling numbers. This is (implicitly) posed as an open problem in the recent paper [F.Y. Kuo, G.W. Wasilowski, H. Woźniakowski, On the power of standard information for multivariate approximation in the worst case setting, J. Approx. Theory, to appear] where the authors prove that implies . Here we prove that the case and b=0 is possible, hence general linear information can be exponentially better than function evaluation. Since the case is quite different, it is still open whether b=p always holds in that case.  相似文献

We prove that the quantum double of the quasi-Hopf algebra of dimension attached in [P. Etingof, S. Gelaki, On radically graded finite-dimensional quasi-Hopf algebras, Mosc. Math. J. 5 (2) (2005) 371–378] to a simple complex Lie algebra and a primitive root of unity q of order n2 is equivalent to Lusztig's small quantum group (under some conditions on n). Let Ω be a Borel subset of where S is countable. A measure is called exchangeable on Ω, if it is supported on Ω and is invariant under every Borel automorphism of Ω which permutes at most finitely many coordinates. De-Finetti's theorem characterizes these measures when . We apply the ergodic theory of equivalence relations to study the case , and obtain versions of this theorem when Ω is a countable state Markov shift, and when Ω is the collection of beta expansions of real numbers in [0,1] (a non-Markovian constraint).  相似文献

It is shown that for the inclusion of factors corresponding to an inclusion of ergodic discrete measured equivalence relations , is normal in in the sense of Feldman–Sutherland–Zimmer [J. Feldman, C.E. Sutherland, R.J. Zimmer, Subrelations of ergodic equivalence relations, Ergodic Theory Dynam. Systems 9 (1989) 239–269] if and only if A is generated by the normalizing groupoid of B. Moreover, we show that there exists the largest intermediate equivalence subrelation which contains as a normal subrelation. We further give a definition of “commensurability groupoid” as a generalization of normality. We show that the commensurability groupoid of B in A generates A if and only if the inclusion BA is discrete in the sense of Izumi–Longo–Popa [M. Izumi, R. Longo, S. Popa, A Galois correspondence for compact groups of automorphisms of von Neumann algebras with a generalization to Kac algebras, J. Funct. Anal. 155 (1998) 25–63]. We also show that there exists the largest equivalence subrelation such that the inclusion is discrete. It turns out that the intermediate equivalence subrelations and thus defined can be viewed as groupoid-theoretic counterparts of a normalizer subgroup and a commensurability subgroup in group theory.  相似文献

We associate a positive real number to any vector space K-category over a field K. Generalizing a result of Nazarova and Roiter, we show that a schurian vector space K-category is representation-finite if and only if is finite and . Such vector space categories are quasilinear, i.e. its indecomposables are simple modules over their endomorphism ring. Recently, Nazarova and Roiter introduced the concept of -faithful poset in order to clarify the structure of critical posets. Their conjecture on the precise form of -faithful posets was established by Zeldich. We generalize these results and characterize -faithful quasilinear vector space K-categories in terms of a class of hereditary algebras Hρ(D) parametrized by a skew-field D and a rational number ρ1.  相似文献

We show that for the classes and , the orders of best approximation by polynomials in coincide.
