By combining the Csorgo-Révész quantile transform methods and the Skorohod-Strassen martingale embedding theorem, we prove a strong approximation theorem for quasi-associated random variables with mean zero and finite (2 + δ)th moment under polynomial decay rate. The laterally -complete reflection is given a new, one-step construction, which, in some notable cases affords an explicit realization. For example, if X is a compact Hausdorff topological space, the laterally -complete reflection of C(X) consists of all real-valued functions on X which are countably Baire-piecewise continuous. This realization of the reflection also shows, easily, that it carries rings to rings and, for objects with a designated unit, that the singularity of the unit is preserved.  相似文献

A theorem of McCord of 1966 and Quillen?s Theorem A of 1973 provide sufficient conditions for a map between two posets to be a homotopy equivalence at the level of complexes. We give an alternative elementary proof of this result and we deduce also a stronger statement: under the hypotheses of the theorem, the map is not only a homotopy equivalence but a simple homotopy equivalence. This leads then to stronger formulations of the simplicial version of Quillen?s Theorem A, the Nerve Lemma and other known results. In particular we establish a conjecture of Kozlov on the simple homotopy type of the crosscut complex and we improve a well-known result of Cohen on contractible mappings.  相似文献

We prove a version of the Frobenius–Schur theorem for a finite-dimensional semisimple Hopf algebra H over an algebraically closed field; if the field has characteristic p not 0, H is also assumed to be cosemisimple. Then for each irreducible representation V of H, we define a Schur indicator for V, which reduces to the classical Schur indicator when H is the group algebra of a finite group. We prove that this indicator is 0 if and only if V is not self-dual. If V is self dual, then the indicator is positive (respectively, negative) if and only if V admits a nondegenerate bilinear symmetric (resp., skew-symmetric) H-invariant form. For reversible systems of infinite dimension we prove an infinitely dimensional KAM theorem with an application to the network of weakly coupled oscillators of friction. The KAM theorem shows that there are many invariant tori of infinite dimension, and thus many almost periodic solutions, for the reversible systems.  相似文献

Berry-Esséen bounds of the optimal O(n-1/2) order are obtained, under the null hypothesis of randomness, for serial linear rank statistics, of the form a1 (Rt)a2(Rt-k). Such statistics play an essential role in distribution-free methods for time-series analysis, where they provide nonparametric analogues to classical (Gaussian) correlogram-based methods. Berry-Esséen inequalities are established under mild conditions on the score-generating functions, allowing for normal (van der Waerden) scores. They extend to the serial case the earlier result of Does (1982, Ann. Probab., 10, 982-991) on (nonserial) linear rank statistics, and to the context of nonparametric rank-based statistics the parametric results of Taniguchi (1991, Higher Order Asymptotics for Time Series Analysis, Springer, New York) on quadratic forms of Gaussian stationary processes.  相似文献

In this note we extend the Ramanujan's 11 summation formula to the case of a Laurent series extension of multiple q-hypergeometric series of Macdonald polynomial argument [7]. The proof relies on the elegant argument of Ismail [5] and the q-binomial theorem for Macdonald polinomials. This result implies a q-integration formula of Selberg type [3, Conjecture 3] which was proved by Aomoto [2], see also [7, Appendix 2] for another proof. We also obtain, as a limiting case, the triple product identity for Macdonald polynomials [8].  相似文献

The authors establish a Cheeger-Müller type theorem for the complex valued analytic torsion introduced by Burghelea and Hailer for fiat vector bundles carrying nondegenerate symmetric bilinear forms. We prove a Maschke type theorem for Doi-Hopf $π$-modules. A sufficient condition for having a Maschke type property is that there exists a suitable total integral map for the Doi-Hopf $π$-modules in question. The applications of the results are considered. Finally, As an application of the existence of total integral, we prove that $\mathop⊕ \limits_{α∈π} C_α ⊗ A$ is a generator in the category $^{π-C} U(H)A$.  相似文献

If T or T* is an algebraically quasi-class A operator acting on an infinite dimensional separable Hilbert space then we prove that Weyl’s theorem holds for f(T) for every f H(σ(T)), where H(σ(T)) denotes the set of all analytic functions in an open neighborhood of σ(T). Moreover, if T* is algebraically quasi-class A then a-Weyl’s theorem holds for f(T). Also, if T or T* is an algebraically quasi-class A operator then we establish that the spectral mapping theorems for the Weyl spectrum and the essential approximate point spectrum of T for every f H(σ(T)), respectively. The Jordan Curve Theorem referring to a simple closed curve in the plane has a particularly simple proof in the case that the curve is polygonal, called the “raindrop proof”. We generalize the notion of a simple closed polygon to that of a polyhedral (d−1)-pseudomanifold (d≥2) and prove a Jordan–Brouwer Separation Theorem for such a manifold embedded in ℝ d . As a by-product, we get bounds on the polygonal diameter of the interior and exterior of such a manifold which are almost tight. This puts the result within the frame of computational geometry.
