We report the synthesis of chemically asymmetric silica nanobottles (NBs) with a hydrophobic exterior surface (capped with 3‐chloropropyl groups) and a hydrophilic interior surface for spatially selective cargo loading, and for application as nanoreactors and nanomotors. The silica NBs, which have a “flask bottle” shape with an average diameter of 350 nm and an opening of ca. 100 nm, are prepared by anisotropic sol–gel growth in a water/n‐pentanol emulsion. Due to their chemically asymmetric properties, nanoparticles (NPs) with hydrophilic or hydrophobic surface properties can be selectively loaded inside the NBs or on the outside of the NBs, respectively. A high‐performance nanomotor is constructed by selectively loading catalytically active hydrophilic Pt NPs inside the NBs. It is also demonstrated that these NBs can be used as vessels for various reactions, such as the in situ synthesis of Au NPs, and using Au NP‐loaded NBs as nanoreactors for catalytic reactions.  相似文献

Silica gel-loaded (E)-N-(1-thien-2'-ylethylidene)-1,2-phenylenediamine (TEPDA) phase was synthesized based on physical adsorption approaches. The stability of a chemically modified TEPDA especially in concentrated hydrochloric acid that was then used as a recycling and preconcentration reagent allowed the further uses of silica gel-loaded immobilized TEPDA phase. The application of this silica gel-loaded phase to sorption of a series of metal ions was performed by using different controlling factors such as the pH of the metal ion solution and the equilibration shaking time by the static technique. This difference was interpreted on the basis of selectivity incorporated in these sulfur containing silica gel-loaded TEPDA phases. Hg(Ⅱ) was found to exhibit the highest affinity towards extraction by these silica gel-loaded TEPDA phases. The pronounced selectivity was also confirmed by the determined distribution coefficients (Kd) of all the metal ions, showing the highest value reported for mercury(Ⅱ) extraction by the silica gel immobilized TEPDA phase. The potential applications of the silica gel immobilized TEPDA phase to selective extraction of mercury(Ⅱ) from aqueous solution were successfully accomplished and preconcentration of low concentration of Hg(Ⅱ) (30 pg·mL^-1) from natural tap water with a preconcentration factor of 200 for Hg(Ⅱ) off-line analysis was conducted by cold vapor atomic absorption analysis.  相似文献

A silica gel based sorbent containing rhodanine as functional group (RDSG) was prepared. Its adsorption and separation characteristics for Ag(I), Au(III) and Pd(II) were studied by flow-injection (FI) on-line preconcentration. Influence of different experimental parameters such as acidity, eluent, co-existing ions were investigated. Trace amounts of Ag, Au and Pd could be efficiently adsorbed by rhodanine-bonded silica gel from acidic solution and eluted with thiourea solution. Common co-existing ions exhibited virtually no interference to the preconcentration and determination. The adsorption capacity of RDSG was 0.0352, 0.107 and 0.122 mmol/g for Ag, Au and Pd, respectively. Detection limits of 0.004, 0.022 and 0.019 microg/mL for Ag, Au and Pd, respectively, were achieved with a sampling time of 60 s at a flow rate of 5.0 mL/min. The relative standard deviation were 0.5%, 0.9% and 1.7% for 0.040 microg/mL Ag, 0.200 microg/mL Au and 0.300 microg/mL Pd. The sorption property did not change after 1,000 cycles of sorption-desorption. The contents of Ag and Au in three national certified ore samples and Pd in a secondary nickel alloy, an anode slime and a CoCl2 electrolytic solution were determined. The results showed good agreement with the certified values.  相似文献

A solid‐phase extraction (SPE) method has been presented for the selective separation and preconcentration of trace amounts of cadmium using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB)‐coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs). The method is based on the sorption of cadmium as CdI42? complex on the positively charged surface of the CTAB‐coated Fe3O4 NPs. The preconcentrated cadmium is then desorbed from the surface of the sorbent and is determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The influences of the experimental parameters including pH of the solutions, amount of surfactant, iodide concentration, sample volume, eluent type and volume on the recovery of the analyte ions were investigated. Under the optimum conditions by the extraction of 500 mL of aqueous samples, a preconcentration factor of 250 was achieved. The detection limit (3s) was 0.06 μg L?1, and the relative standard deviations at 0.5 and 5 μg L?1 levels of cadmium (n = 10) were 3.2 and 1.9% respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of cadmium in water samples. The accuracy was evaluated through the recovery experiments and independent analysis by the graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS).  相似文献

A new ionic liquid modified silica gel sorbent was prepared from the reaction of active silica gel with N-3-(-3-triethoxysilylepropyl)-3-methylimidazolium chloride ([(TESP)MIm]Cl). This sorbent was exploited as solid phase extractant for separation and preconcentration of metal ions prior to their determination by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). It was found that it can selectively adsorb Fe(Ш). Identification of the surface modification was performed on the basis of FT-IR. Experimental conditions for effective adsorption of trace Fe(Ш) were optimised using both batch and column procedures. At pH 3, Fe(Ш) could be quantitatively adsorbed and completely eluted by using 2?mL of 0.1?mol?L?1 of HCl. 150?mL of sample solution was adopted as the maximum sample volume and a high enrichment factor of 75 was obtained. Most common coexisting ions did not interfere with the separation and preconcentration of Fe(Ш) at optimal conditions. The maximum static adsorption capacity of the sorbent was 37.0?mg?g?1. The detection limit of the present method was 0.48?µg?L?1, and the relative standard deviation (R. S. D.) was lower than 1.7%. The method was successfully applied to the preconcentration of trace Fe(Ш) in biological and natural water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

Ion-imprinting concept and polysaccharide incorporated sol-gel process were applied to the preparation of a new silica-supported organic-inorganic hybrid sorbent for selective separation of Cd(II) from aqueous solution. In the prepared shell/core composite sorbent, covalently surface coating on the supporting silica gel was achieved by using a Cd(II)-imprinting sol-gel process starting from an inorganic precursor, γ-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysiloxane (GPTMS), and a functional biopolymer, chitosan (CS). The sorbent was prepared through self-hydrolysis of GPTMS, self-condensation and co-condensation of silanol groups (Si-OH) from siloxane and silica gel surface, in combination with in situ covalent cross-linking of CS with partial amine shielded by Cd(II) complexation. Extraction of the imprinting molecules left a predetermined arrangement of ligands and tailored binding pockets for Cd(II). The prepared sorbent was characterized by using X-ray energy dispersion spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Batch experiments were conducted to study the sorption performance by removal of Cd(II) when present singly or in binary system, an aqueous Cd(II) and Zn(II) mixture. The ion-imprinted composite sorbent offered a fast kinetics for the sorption of Cd(II) and the maximum capacity was 1.14 mmol g−1. The uptake capacity of the imprinted sorbent and the selectivity coefficient were much higher than that of the non-imprinted sorbent. The imprinted sorbent exhibited high reusability. The prepared functional sorbent was shown to be promising for the preconcentration of cadmium in environmental and biological samples.  相似文献

Dense poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PIPAAm) brushes were created on silica bead surfaces by surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). Interfacial properties of PIPAAm brushes were characterized by thermoresponisve interaction with biomolecules. The grafted amounts of PIPAAm on silica bead surfaces exceeded that from previously reported polymer-hydrogel-modified silica beads prepared by conventional radical polymerization by nearly 1 order of magnitude. Temperature-dependent chromatographic interactions with soluble analytes were modulated by changing the grafted PIPAAm chain lengths. Short PIPAAm-grafted silica beads produce insufficient dehydration and chain aggregation to separate steroids using weak hydrophobic interactions. In contrast, broad unresolved peaks were observed on silica beads column grafted with long PIPAAm chains due to steroid partitioning into thick, densely grafted PIPAAm brush layers. Thus, silica beads column grafted with PIPAAm chains of proper length can demonstrate baseline separation of steroids with relatively high resolution among the tested columns. Relatively longer retention times for steroid analytes were observed on all columns compared to those previously reported for other PIPAAm-grafted silica beads. This indicates that densely PIPAAm-grafted chains enable control of strong hydrophobic interactions with steroids by changing the column temperature. Densely grafted PIPAAm columns were also successful in separating two peptides into two peaks as the column temperature was increased to 40 degrees C. This provides an effective separation alternative for peptides using substantial hydrophobicity without modification of hydrophobic surfaces and/or low mobile phase pH. In conclusion, densely PIPAAm-grafted surfaces exhibit strong, reversible temperature-modulated hydrophobic interactions, facilitating baseline separations of steroids and peptides in aqueous milieu without changes in the mobile phase pH and high ionic strength.  相似文献

Silica gel surface was chemically functionalized by reaction the silanol from the silica surface with 3-chloropropyltrimethoxysilane followed by reaction with Sulfasalazine. This new sorbent has been used for the preconcentration of low levels of U(VI) ions from an aqueous phase. Parameters involved in extraction efficiency such as pH, weight of the sorbent, volume of sample and eluent were optimized in batch and column methods prior to determination by spectrophotometry using arsenazo(III) reagent. The results showed that U(VI) ions can be sorbed at pH range of 5.0–6.0 in a minicolumn and quantitative recovery of U(VI) (>98.0?±?1.6%) was achieved by stripping with 2.5 mL of 0.1 mol L?1 HCl. The sorption capacity of the functionalized silica gel was 1.15 mmol g?1 of U(VI). A linear calibration graph was obtained over the concentration range of 0.02–27.0 μg mL?1 with a limit of detection of 1 μg L?1 in treatment with 1000 mL of the U(VI) solution in which the preconcentration factor was as high as 400. The method was employed to the preconcentration of U(VI) ions from spiked ground water and synthetic sea water samples.  相似文献

A silica gel sorbent loaded with sodium diethyldithiocarbamate has been developed for the preconcentration of lead, cadmium and zinc prior to their determination by flameatomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). The sorption and desorption of the metal ions was studied under both static and dynamic conditions. The metal ions were quantitatively retained on the silica gel sorbent based on an equilibrium time of less than 1 min. In case of the batch method, the effects of pH, shaking time, amount of sorbent, and desorption time were investigated. Among the desorption agents studied, only EDTA in ammonium chloride/ammonia buffer yielded quantitative recoveries. Freundlich's sorption isotherms determined for each metal show that sufficient sorption ability is obtained. The column method allows the preconcentration of metal ions from large sample volumes (e.g. 200 mL) using a flow rate of 5 mL min–1. The influence of foreign ions present in natural waters and saline solutions was examined. The reproducibility of the total analytical method, expressed as relative standard deviation (RSD) is 1.8, 0.5 and 0.6%, for lead, cadmium and zinc, respectively.  相似文献

A facile method was used to prepare hollow mesoporous TiO2 and Au@TiO2 spheres using polystyrene (PS) templates. Au nanoparticles (NPs) were simultaneously synthesized and attached on the surface of PS spheres by reducing AuCl4? ions using sodium citrate which resulted in the uniform deposition of Au NPs. The outer coating of titania via sol‐gel produced PS@Au@TiO2 core–shell spheres. Removing the templates from these core–shell spheres through calcination produced hollow mesoporous and crystalline Au@TiO2 spheres with Au NPs inside the TiO2 shell in a single step. Anatase spheres with double Au NPs layers, one inside and another outside of TiO2 shell, were also prepared. Different characterization techniques indicated the hollow mesoporous and crystalline morphology of the prepared spheres with Au NPs. Hollow anatase spheres with Au NPs indicated enhanced harvesting of visible light and therefore demonstrated efficient catalytic activity toward the degradation of organic dyes under the irradiation of visible light as compared to bare TiO2 spheres.  相似文献

In this paper, we report the use of micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC) for the highly efficient preconcentration and separation of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs). We used the reversed electrode polarity stacking mode (REPSM) of the MEKC system for the on-line enhancement and separation of the Au NPs. Several parameters had dramatic effects on the systems’ performance, including the concentration of sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) surfactant, the presence of salts in the NP solution, the pH of the running electrolyte, and the temperature of the capillary. Under the optimized conditions [buffer: SDS (70 mM) and 3-cyclohexylamino-1-propanesulfonic acid (CAPS; 10 mM) at pH 10.0; applied voltage: 20 kV; operating temperature: 25 °C; additive: sodium dihydrogenphosphate (NaH2PO4, 10 mM); REPSM strategy for sample preconcentration], the number of theoretical plates for the 5.3- and 40.1-nm-diameter Au NPs were 3000 and (an ultrahigh) 2.1 × 106, respectively; in addition, the detection sensitivities toward the Au NPs were enhanced ca. 20- and 380-fold, respectively, relative to those obtained using standard MEKC analysis conditions. Furthermore, monitoring the electropherograms using diode-array detection allowed us to identify and characterize the sizes of the separated NPs from their UV–vis spectra. Our findings suggest that MEKC is a highly efficient tool for both the preconcentration and separation of NPs.  相似文献

A uric acid (UA) electrochemical biosensor based on the Cu‐Au alloy nanoparticles (NPs) and uricase was developed. The electrodeposition technique of Cu‐Au alloy NPs was selected to be a convenient potentiostatic method at –0.8 V in a single solution containing both Au(III) and Cu2+. Cyclic voltammetry and scanning electron microscopy proved the successful deposition of Cu‐Au alloy NPs. EIS demonstrated the good conductivity of Cu‐Au alloy NPs. The enzyme was immobilized on the surface of Cu‐Au alloy NPs modified electrode by casting with chitosan solution. The ultimate biosensor showed linear amperometric response towards UA in the concentration range of 3.0 to 26.0 μM with a detection limit of 0.8 μM. The main feature of the biosensor was its short response time, which was attributed to the good conductivity of Cu‐Au alloy NPs. Furthermore, the biosensor could avoid the interference of ascorbic acid and oxygen.  相似文献

We have used alkanethiol self-assembly and dithiol layer-by-layer (LBL) self-assembly processes to prepare an Au nanoparticle (NP)-coated open tubular capillary electrochromatography (OTCEC) column for the separation of three neutral steroid drugs (testosterone, progesterone, and testosterone propionate). The CEC column was fabricated through LBL self-assembly of Au NPs on a 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (APTMS)-modified fused-silica capillary and subsequent surface functionalization of the Au NPs through self-assembly of alkanethiols. We investigated the electrochromatographic properties of the resulting Au NP-coated CEC column using a "reversed phase" test mixture of three steroid drugs. We found that the key factors affecting the separation performance were the number of Au NP layers, the length of the carbon-atom chain of the alkanethiol self-assembled on the Au NPs, the percentage of organic modifier, and the pH of the running electrolyte. This study reveals that the self-assembly of alkanethiols and dithiols onto Au NPs provides stationary phases for CEC separation that are easy to prepare and whose retention behavior is highly controllable and reproducible. We believe that our findings will contribute to further studies of the application of nanotechnology to separation science.  相似文献

The immobilization of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) on silica is made possible by the functionalization of the silica surfaces with organosilanes. Au NPs could only be stabilized and firmly attached to silica-support surfaces that were previously modified with amino groups. Au NPs could not be stabilized on bare silica surfaces and most of the NPs were then found in the solution. The metal-support interactions before and after the Au NP formation, observed by X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy (XAFS), indicate a stronger interaction of gold(III) ions with amino-modified silica surfaces than with the silanol groups in bare silica. An amino-modified, silica-based, magnetic support was used to prepare an active Au NP catalyst for the chemoselective oxidation of alcohols, a reaction of great interest for the fine chemical industry.  相似文献

Copper(II)‐ion imprinted silica gel (Cu‐IISG) sorbent was synthesized by surface imprinting technique and was employed as a selective solid‐phase extraction material for on‐line preconcentration and separation, then coupled with atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) determination of Cu(II). The higher selectivity coefficient of Cu‐IISG for Cu(II) in the presence of competitive ions such as Fe(III), Ni(II) and Zn(II) was above 411, which was 35 times of NISG. The static adsorption capacity and dynamic adsorption capacity were 41.11 mg g?1 and 16.20 mg g?1, respectively. The Cu‐IISG offered a fast kinetics for the adsorption and desorption of Cu(II), which can be used for on‐line preconcentration and detection. Two certified reference materials of GBW07301a sediment and GBW07401 soil were analyzed and the determined values were in a good agreement with the certified values. The developed method was also successfully applied to the determination of trace copper in tea leaf with satisfactory results (recovery between 96.3% and 102.3%).  相似文献

Plasmonic Au and magnetic Fe are coupled into uniform Au@Fe core–shell nanoparticles (NPs) to confirm that electron transfer occurred from the Au core to the Fe shell. Au NPs synthesized in aqueous medium are used as seeds and coated with an Fe shell. The resulting Au@Fe NPs are characterized by using various analytical techniques. X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy and superconducting quantum interference device measurements reveal that the Fe shell of the Au@Fe NPs mainly consists of paramagnetic Wüstite with a thin surface oxide layer consisting of maghemite or magnetite. Electron transfer from the Au core to the Fe shell effectively suppresses iron oxidation from Fe2+ to Fe3+ near the interface between the Au and the Fe. The charge‐transfer‐induced electronic modification technique enables us to control the degree of iron oxidation and the resulting magnetic properties.  相似文献

A magnetic solid‐phase extraction sorbent of polypyrrole/silica/magnetite nanoparticles was successfully synthesized and applied for the extraction and preconcentration of sulfonamides in water samples. The magnetite nanoparticles provided a simple and fast separation method for the analytes in water samples. The silica coating increased the surface area that helped to increase the polypyrrole layer. The polypyrrole‐coated silica provided a high extraction efficiency due to the π–π and hydrophobic interactions between the polypyrrole and sulfonamides. Several parameters that affected the extraction efficiencies, i.e. the amount of sorbent, pH of the sample, extraction time, extraction temperature, ionic strength, and desorption conditions were investigated. Under the optimal conditions, the method was linear over the range of 0.30–200 μg/L for sulfadiazine and sulfamerazine, and 1.0–200 μg/L for sulfamethazine and sulfamonomethoxine. The limit of detection was 0.30 μg/L for sulfadiazine and sulfamerazine and 1.0 μg/L for sulfamethazine and sulfamonomethoxine. This simple and rapid method was successfully applied to efficiently extract sulfonamides from water samples. It showed a high extraction efficiency for all tested sulfonamides, and the recoveries were in the range of 86.7–99.7% with relative standard deviations of < 6%.  相似文献

Au/Pt core shell nanoparticles (NPs) have been prepared via a layer‐by‐layer growth of Pt layers on Au NPs using underpotential deposition (UPD) redox replacement technique. A single UPD Cu monolayer replacement with Pt(II) yielded a uniform Pt film on Au NPs, and the shell thickness can be tuned by controlling the number of UPD redox replacement cycles. Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in air‐saturated 0.1 M H2SO4 was used to investigate the electrocatalytic behavior of the as‐prepared core shell NPs. Cyclic voltammograms of ORR show that the peak potentials shift positively from 0.32 V to 0.48 V with the number of Pt layers increasing from one to five, suggesting the electrocatalytic activity increases with increasing the thickness of Pt shell. The increase in electrocatalytic activity may originate mostly from the large decrease of electronic influence of Au cores on surface Pt atoms. Rotating ring‐disk electrode voltammetry and rotating disk electrode voltammetry demonstrate that ORR is mainly a four‐electron reduction on the as‐prepared modified electrode with 5 Pt layers and first charge transfer is the rate‐determining step.  相似文献
