Synthetic and spectroscopic studies of some new 2‐[1‐aryl‐4{4‐methoxyphenyl}‐6‐thioxo‐1,6‐dihydro‐1,3,5‐triazinyl]amino/hydrazonothiazolidin‐4‐ones

A series of 4‐thiazolidinones having triazinethione moieties have been synthesized by the systematic chemical modification of S‐benzylmercapto‐1‐aryl‐4‐(4‐methoxyphenyl)‐1,6‐dihydro‐1,3,5‐triazine‐6‐thione.     

Studies with 2‐arylhydrazononitriles: A novel simple,efficient route to 5‐acyl‐2‐substituted‐1,2,3‐triazol‐4‐amines

Efficient route to 5‐acyl‐2‐substituted‐1,2,3‐triazol‐4‐amines via reaction of 3‐oxo‐2‐(arylhydrazono)‐pentanenitrile with hydroxylamine hydrochloride is reported. X‐ray crystal structure has been made to confirm the structure of reaction products.     

Synthesis of novel 3,5,7‐triaryl‐5,6‐dihydro‐4h‐1,2,5‐triazepines

Several hitherto unknown 3,5,7‐triaryl‐5,6‐dihydro‐4H‐1,2,5‐triazepines have been synthesised by cyclocondensation of N,N‐bis(phenacyl)anilines with hydrazine hydrate in ethanol or ethyleneglycol under reflux condition. Increased yields were obtained in the presence of p‐toluenesulfonic acid compared to the uncatalysed reaction.

An interesting cyclization of N‐methyl‐3‐phenyl‐N‐(2‐(Z)‐phenylethenyl)‐cis‐oxiranecarboxamide

Under Lewis acid condition, N‐methyl‐3‐phenyl‐N‐(2‐(Z)‐phenylethenyl)‐cis‐oxiranecarboxamide undergoes elegant double cyclizations to give interesting products.     

Convenient preparations of 2‐alkyl‐5‐oxopyrrolidine‐3‐carboxylic acids

Reduction of the Michael addition products of anions of nitro compounds to dimethyl maleate led to the spontaneous formation of the respective 2‐alkyl‐5‐oxopyrrolidine‐3‐carboxylic acid methyl esters. Conventional hydrolysis of the later gave the desired compounds.     

Phenacylsulfonylacetic acid methyl ester‐synthon for 1,2,3‐selena/thiadiazoles and 2H‐diazaphospholes

A new class of 1,2,3‐selena/thiadiazoles and 2H‐diazaphospholes were synthesized by exploiting α‐ketomethylene group in phenacylsulfonylacetic acid methyl ester.     

Facile three‐component one‐pot synthesis of indeno‐[1,2‐b]quinolin‐9,11(6H,10H)‐dione derivatives

One‐pot three‐component cyclocondensation of aldehydes, 1,3‐indanedione and enaminones proceeds in the presence of acetic acid to afford Indeno[1,2‐b]quinolin‐9,11(6H,10H)‐dione derivatives, The method has the advantage of excellent yields(85‐94%) and simple workup procedure.     

Formation of aryl‐bis (6‐amino‐1,3‐dimethyluracil‐5‐yl) methanes by reaction of 6‐amino‐1, 3‐dimethyluracil with aromatic aldehydes

The synthesis of aryl‐bis(6‐amino‐1,3‐dimethyluracil‐5‐yl)‐methanes 3a‐m by condensation of 6‐amino‐1,3‐dimethyluracil ( 1 ) with aromatic aldehydes 2a‐m at room temperature is reported. The structures of the compounds were established using various spectroscopic analyses and X‐ray crystallography. The crystal structures of two aryl‐bis (6‐amino‐1,3‐dimethyluracil‐5‐yl) methanes are presented.     

Synthesis and fluorescence of 2h‐pyrone derivatives for organic light‐emitting diodes (OLED)

2H‐Pyrone derivatives were synthesized through the reaction of aryl acetyl compounds with ketene dithioacetals in the presence of sodium hydroxide, and they showed very strong fluorescence in the solid state. The light‐emitting region of these 2H‐pyrones is 447‐630 nm in the solid states.     

An efficient and modified biginelli one‐pot synthesis of new isoxazole substitted 3,4‐dihydropyrimidin‐2(1H)‐ones and thiones catalyzed by VCl3

An efficient and modified Biginelli one‐pot synthesis of new‐isoxazole substituted 3,4‐dihydropyrimidin‐2(1H)‐ones and thiones from aromatic aldehydes, ketoamide and urea/thiourea in acetonitrile using VCl₃ as the catalyst is described.     

Synthesis of 2,4‐difuryl‐4H‐3,1‐benzothiazines via a furan ring migration reaction

A new simple synthetic approach to 2,4‐difuryl‐4H‐3,1‐benzothiazines from 2‐isothiocyanoaryldifuryl‐methanes in the presence of acidic catalyst is described. This rearrangement is a new example of furan ring migration reaction resulting from intramolecular attack with electrophilic carbon.
