Abstract

Excess Molar Polarizations (ΔP W.Q., ΔP D.D.) have been evaluated in the binary mixture of associated + associated and associated + nonassociated polar liquids using Winkelmann-Quitzsch and Davis-Douheret equations. It is observed that Winkelmann-Quitzsch equation ΔP W.Q. is the more appropriate one for interpretation of dynamic characteristics of the molecular association in a liquid mixture.  相似文献

In order to design and optimize equipment needed for production of distilled alcoholic beverages, an adequate knowledge of their physical properties and phase equilibria is necessary. The key thermodynamic information needed is for those chemicals that are the main components in terms of nonideal behavior. In this paper we present the temperature dependence of the excess molar volumes of the ternary system ethanol + water + ethyl acetate in the range 288.15–323.15 K at atmospheric pressure, due to the importance of ethyl acetate among the flavor compounds contained in this type of beverage. The observed excess molar volumes are usually negative over the whole homogeneous composition range, but take on positive values as the binary ethanol + ethyl acetate system is approached and the liquid phase separation region is observed. Because the current process designs are strongly computer oriented, the accuracy of theoretical model predictions was examined. The experimental data were used to test the capability of the Soave–Redlich–Kwong (SRK) equation of state to predict the ternary mixture behavior from binary mixture interaction parameters, which were obtained from previously published data. Derived properties, such as partial the excess molar volumes, excess isobaric expansibility, and the pressure derivative of excess molar enthalpy at constant temperature were calculated, due to their importance in the study of specific molecular interactions.  相似文献

The data obtained for density, viscosity, and dielectric constant are used for the study of the physical properties of 2-ethoxy ethanol-water mixtures. Density measurements showed the presence of contraction in the volume of the mixture and also in the partial molal volume of the components. Viscosity data provided supporting evidence of interaction between the two solvents. The dielectric data for the system were studied in terms of a deviation fraction, δD, representing the deviation from an ideal volume mixture. The results are also compared with the data obtained in the literature for water-2-methoxy ethanol and water-ethylene glycol mixtures.  相似文献

The excess molar volume (V E), viscosity deviations (Δη) and Gibbs excess energy of activation for viscous flow (G∗E) have been investigated from density (ρ) and viscosity (η) measurements of eight binary mixtures of 1,3-dioxolane with methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, 2-propanol, 1-butanol, 2-butanol, t-butanol, and i-amyl alcohol over the entire range of mole fractions at 303.15 K. The viscosity data have been correlated with the Grunberg and Nissan equation. Furthermore, excess isentropic compressibilities (KSE) have been calculated from ultrasonic speed measurements of these binary mixtures at 303.15 K. The deviations have been fitted by a Redlich–Kister equation and the results are discussed in terms of molecular interactions and structural effects. The excess properties are found to be either negative or positive depending on the molecular interactions and the nature of the liquid mixtures. The systems studied exhibit very strong cross association through hydrogen bonding.  相似文献

The densities and speeds of sound in pentan-1-ol + octan-1-ol, pentan-1-ol + nonane and hexane + nonane binary systems have been measured over the whole composition range from 293.15 to 313.15 K. For comparison, literature data for the hexane + octan-1-ol mixture have also been analyzed. The quantities determined have been plotted as functions of temperature and composition. The excess molar volumes and excess molar compressions have been interpeted on the basis of the homomorph concept.  相似文献

Abstract

Excess molar volumes vE have been measured for the binary liquid mixtures of propyl ethanoate with five n-alkanes (n-hexane, n-heptane, n-octane, n-nonane and n-decane) at 298.15 and 308.15 K, using an Anton Paar densimeter. All the mixtures studied present positive vE values that increase with the length of the chain of the alkane and with the temperature. The experimental results are compared with the predictions of the Nitta—Chao model.  相似文献

Excess molar volumes VmE of the binary mixtures of (trifluoroethanol + 1-propanol), (trifluoroethanol + 2-propanol), (acetone + water), (methanol + water), (ethanol + water), (1-propanol + water), (2-propanol + water), and the ternary mixtures of (trifluoroethanol + methanol + water), (trifluoroethanol + ethanol + water), (trifluoroethanol~+ 1-propanol + water), (trifluoroethanol + 2-propanol + water) and (trifluoroethanol + acetone + water) were measured with a vibrating tube densimeter at the temperature of 298.15 K and the pressure 101 kPa. The extrema in VmE of trifluoroethanol mixtures occur at –0.690 cm3-mol–1 for (trifluoroethanol + 1-propanol), at –0.990~cm3-mol–1 for (trifluoroethanol + 2-propanol); at 0.562 and –0.973 cm3-mol–1 for (trifluoroethanol + methanol + water), at 0.629 and –0.973 cm3-mol–1 for (trifluoroethanol + ethanol + water), at 1.082 and –0.659 cm3-mol–1 for (trifluoroethanol~+ 1-propanol + water), at 0.998 and –0.991 cm3-mol–1 for (trifluoroethanol~+ 2-propanol + water), and at 0.515 and –1.472 cm3-mol–1 for (trifluoroethanol + acetone + water). The experimental ternary VmE values were predicted by empirical expressions using binary solution data.  相似文献

The lattice parameters a and the molar volumes Km of Pb-based a-phase solid solutions in the Pb-Sn-Cd ternary system were determined by means of X-ray diffraction. The lattice parameters a vary linearly with the molar fractions, the molar volumes show a positive deviation from the ideal solution behaviour, and the contribution of the solute Cd to the excess molar volumes V is much larger than that of the solute Sn. According to Vegard' s law orsub-regular solution model, the relationship between the experimental data of a or Vm andthe compositions of alloy is obtained by the mathematic regressive method, the prediction precisions of the both formulae are within the limits of experiment error.

Abstract

Densities of the systems, 1-Propanol(P)+aniline(A), 1-Propanol(P)+N-Methylaniline (NMA) and 1-Propanol(P)+N,N-Dimethylaniline(DMA) have been measured from 21°C to 50°C at an interval of 5°C. The excess molar volumes, V E, of the systems, P+A and P +NMA have been found to be negative for the whole range of composition. VE of the system P+DMA has also been found to be negative, except in DMA-rich region where small positive excess volume is observed. The negative excess volume has been explained primarily in terms of strong specific interaction and size difference of unlike molecules. The magnitude of the negative excess volumes of these systems is of the order, P+A > P + NMA > P + DMA, which has been strongly influenced by steric effect due to CH3 group attached to N-atom of NMA and DMA. In the highly rich region of DMA in P+DMA system the small positive excess volume is accounted for by the steric effect and breaking up of H-bond of 1-Propanol.  相似文献

Abstract

Density, viscosity and surface tension of two binary liquid systems: 2-butanone + n-propionic acid, 2-butanone + n-butyric acid have been determined at 20, 30 and 40°C, over the whole compositional range. The excess values of molar volume, viscosity, Gibbs free energy for the activation of flow and surface tension were evaluated. These excess values were fitted to a Redlich-Kister type of equation. The Grunberg-Nissan parameter, d, was also calculated. The binary viscosity data were fitted to the models of McAllister, Heric, Auslander and Teja and Rice. Surface tension data were fitted to the models of Zihao and Jufu, Rice and Teja, and an empirical two-constant model proposed in this study.  相似文献

The densities (ρ), viscosities (η), refractive indices (nD), and speeds of sound (u), of binary mixtures of pyridine with 1-hexanol, 1-heptanol, 1-octanol and 1-decanol, including those of pure liquids, were measured over the entire composition range at 303.15 K and atmospheric pressure. From these experimental data, the values of excess molar volumes (VE), deviations in isentropic compressibilities (Δks), viscosities (Δh), molar refractions (ΔRm), apparent and partial molar volumes (Vf,2 and ), apparent and partial molar compressibilities (Kf,2 and ), of alkanols in pyridine and their corresponding deviations (ΔV and ΔK) were calculated. The variations of these parameters with composition of the mixtures suggest that the strength of interactions in these mixtures follow the order: 1-hexanol>1-heptanol>1-octanol>1-decanol. All the excess and deviation functions were fitted to Redlich-Kister polynomial equation to determine the fitting coefficients and the standard deviations.  相似文献

Experimental data of densities and viscosities are presented for the mixtures of the ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexaflurophosphate, [C4mim][PF6], with acetone, 2-butanone, 3-pentanone, cyclopentanone and ethyl acetate at 298.15 K. Based on these data, excess molar volumes, VmE, and excess logarithm viscosities, (lnη)E, have been determined for the binaries. It is shown that all values of VmE are negative but those of (lnη)E are positive. Interestingly, a minimum in VmE and a maximum in (lnη)E are observed at about the same mole fraction of the ionic liquid (x = 0.3) for every mixture investigated. Combined with the VmE data reported in literature, the effects of the [PF6] and [BF4] anions are compared. The results have been discussed in terms of the ion–dipole interactions of the cations of the ionic liquids with the organic compounds as well as their influence on the association of [C4mim]+ and [PF6] in the ionic liquid.  相似文献

Speed of sound and densities of solutions of mixtures of seven ethanolamineswith water were measured over the full range of composition at 25, 35, and 45°C.Results of these measurements were used to calculate adiabatic compressibilities, excess volumes, partial molar and apparent molar volumes, and apparent molarcompressibilities. Knowledge of the above properties of these mixtures are abasis for understanding some of the molecular interactions in these systems. Fromthe analysis of the results, the type of interactions between the ethanolaminesand water are discussed in terms of the number and size of the alkyl groupsattached to the nitrogen atom of ethanolamine.  相似文献

The refractive index, n D , and density, ρ, of binary mixtures of monoalcohols + water, have been measured at a temperature of 298.15,K and atmospheric pressure. The variation of the refractive indices of these solutions has also been determined with temperature in the range T = (278.15 to 338.15) K and atmospheric pressure. A comparative study has been made of the refractive indices obtained experimentally and those calculated by means of the Lorentz-Lorenz [Theory of Electrons, Dover Phoenix (1952)] and Gladstone-Dale relations [Trans. R. Soc. London 148:887–902 (1858)]; in all cases, the Gladstone–Dale equation was seen to afford values similar to those obtained experimentally. Calculations have been made of the excess molar volumes, V E, and the molar refraction deviations, ΔR, of these mixtures and the differences between the experimental values for refractive index and those obtained by means of the Gladstone–Dale equation. Values of V E were compared with others in the literature. In all cases the V E values were negative, and in all cases, except in the methanol + water, ΔR showed a maximum for x = 0.8.  相似文献

As a continuation of our studies of the excess functions of binary systems containing acetonitrile (1−x)–amines (x) mixtures, the molar heat capacity, Cp, and excess molar heat capacity, Cp E, of acetonitrile + diethylamine or sec-butylamine mixtures have been determined as a function of composition at 288.15, 293.15, 298.15 and 303.15 K at atmospheric pressure using a modified 1455 PARR solution calorimeter. The excess heat capacity data are positive for both systems over the whole composition range. The experimental data on the excess molar heat capacity are discussed in terms of the influence of the magnitude of the experimental excess molar enthalpy, H E, over the curve shaped for the experimental Cp E data, molecular interactions in the mixtures, isomeric effect of the amines and modeling of Cp E data.  相似文献

Abstract

From dilatometric method at 293.15,303,15, and 313.15K for binary mixtures of water and 1,2-alkane diols, the excess molar volumes, VE and the partial molar volumes, V i of both components at 293.15 K have been obtained as a function of mixtures composition. Excess molar volumes were calculated and correlated by a Redlich-Kister type function in terms of mole fraction. The partial molar volumes have been extrapolated to zero concentration to obtain the limiting values at infinite dilution, V 0 i . All mixtures showed negative values and decreases with the chain length of diols. The values become less negative with increasing temperature. The results are explained in terms of dissociation of the self-associated diol molecules and the formation of aggregates between unlike molecules.  相似文献

The speed of sound u in and densities of eight binary mixtures of p-dioxane (p-C4H8O2) with methylcyclohexane (c-C6H11CH3), 1-chlorohexane (C6H13C1), 1-bromohexane (C6H13Br), p-xylene [C6H4(CH3)2], propylbenzene (C6H5C3H7), methyl acetate CH3COOCH3), butyl acetate (CH3COOC4H9), and amyl acetate (CH3COOC5H11) were measured over the whole composition range at 30°C. Isentropic compressibilities (K S), Rao's molar sound functions (R), excess molar volumes (V E), excess isentropic compressibilities (K S E ) together with relative change in volume V/12 values, have been obtained for all measured mole fractions. The excess partial molar volume (V1-V 1 0 ) of p-dioxane in different solvents have also been estimated. The experimental results have been analyzed in terms of the Prigogine–Flory–Patterson theory of solutions.  相似文献
