We derive a realistic microscopic model for doped colossal magnetoresistance manganites, which includes the dynamics of charge, spin, orbital and lattice degrees of freedom on a quantum mechanical level. The model respects the SU(2) spin symmetry and the full multiplet structure of the manganese ions within the cubic lattice. Concentrating on the hole doped domain ( 0≤x≤0.5) we study the influence of the electron-lattice interaction on spin and orbital correlations by means of exact diagonalisation techniques. We find that the lattice can cause a considerable suppression of the coupling between spin and orbital degrees of freedom and show how changes in the magnetic correlations are reflected in dynamic phonon correlations. In addition, our calculation gives detailed insights into orbital correlations and demonstrates the possibility of complex orbital states. We study a two-dimensional ferrofluid of hard-core particles with internal degrees of freedom (plane rotators) and O(2)-invariant ferromagnetic spin interaction. By reducing the continuous system to an approximating reference lattice system, a lower bound for the two-spin correlation function is obtained. This bound, together with the Fröhlich–Spencer result about the Berezinskii–Kosterlitz–Thouless transition in the two-dimension lattice system of plane rotators, shows that our model also exhibits the same kind of ordering. Namely for a short-range ferromagnetic interaction the two-spin correlation function does not decay faster than some power of the inverse distance between particles, for small temperatures and high densities of the ferrofluid. For a long-range ferromagnetic interaction the model manifests a non-zero order parameter (magnetization) in this domain, whereas for high temperatures spin correlations decay exponentially.  相似文献

The possibility that pairs of quarks will form diquark clusters in the regime above deconfinement transition for hadron matter at finite density is revisited. Here we present the results on the diquark-diquark (dq-dq) interaction in the framework of constituent quark model taking account of spin, isospin and color degrees of freedom in the spirit of generalized Pauli principle. By constructing the appropriate spin and color states of the dq-dq clusters we compute the expectation values of the interaction Hamiltonian involving pairwise quark—quark interaction. We find that the effective interaction between two diquark clusters is quite sensitive to different configurations characterized by color and spin states, obtained after the coupling of two diquark states. The value of the coupling parameter for a particular color—spin state, i.e., -3, 1 is compared to the one obtained earlier by Donoghue and Sateesh,Phys. Rev. D38, 360 (1988) based on the effective Φ4-theory. This new value of λ derived for different color-spin dq-dq states, may lead to several important implications in the studies of diquark star and diquark gas.  相似文献

The damage spreading of the Ising model on the 3–12 lattice with competing Glauber and Kawasaki dynamics is studied. The difference between the two kinds of nearest-neighboring spin interactions (interaction between two 12-gons, or interaction between a 12-gon and a triangle) are considered in the Hamiltonian. It is shown that the ratio of the interaction strengthF between the two kinds of interactions plays an important role in determining the critical temperature Td of phase transition from frozen to chaotic. Two methods are used to introduce the bond dilution on the Ising model on the 3–12 lattice: regular and random. The maximum of the average damage spreading 〈Dmax can approach values lower than 0.5 in both cases and the reason can be attributed to the ’survivors’ among the spins. We have also, for the first time, presented the phase diagram of the mixed G-K dynamics in the 3–12 lattice which shows what happens when going from pure Glauber to pure Kawasaki  相似文献

Considering the nonlinearity arising from the interaction between electrons and lattice vibrations, an effective electronic model with a self-interaction cubic term is employed to study the interplay between electron-electron and electron-phonon interactions. Based on numerical solutions of the time-dependent nonlinear Schroedinger equation for an initially localized two-electron singlet state, we show that the magnitude of the electron-phonon coupling χ necessary to promote the self-trapping of the electronic wave packet decreases as a function of the electron-electron interaction U. We show that such dependence is directly linked to the narrowing of the band of bounded two-electron states as U increases. We obtain the transition line in the χ × U parameter space separating the phases of self-trapped and delocalized electronic wave packets. The present results indicates that nonlinear contributions plays a relevant role in the electronic wave packet dynamics, particularly in the regime of strongly correlated electrons.  相似文献

The vibron model approximation to take into account anharmonic effects in periodic systems is discussed. This is achieved by considering a simple one-dimensional molecular crystal with four degrees of freedom. In this case the lattice dynamical treatment is separated into two sets of modes, the modes associated to the molecular degrees of freedom and those corresponding to the motions of the centre of mass of the molecules. The non-interacting molecular modes are studied in detail, and analytical expressions for the energies and wave functions for the two-phonon manifold are obtained. A local-normal mode transition as a function of the interaction parameters is identified, similar to that in isolated molecular systems.  相似文献

We investigate nematic-isotropic transition in liquid crystal elastomers employing a variant of Wang-Landau sampling. This technique facilitates calculation of the density of states from which other thermodynamic properties can be obtained. We consider a lattice model of a liquid crystal elastomer and a Hamiltonian which accounts for interactions among liquid crystalline units and interaction of local nematics with global strain. We investigate the effect of varying the strength of coupling between nematic and orientational degrees of freedom. When the local director is coupled strongly to the global strain, the transition is strongly first order. When the strength of the coupling decreases the transition becomes weakly first order. The transition temperature decreases when the coupling becomes weaker. We also report for the first time results on variation of free energy as a function of average energy at different temperatures and coupling constants.  相似文献

Isobaric degrees of freedom δδ in nuclei are determined from the quark cluster model of a nucleus. These additional degrees of freedom are brought in by the coloured quark exchange between different nucleon clusters present in nuclei. They are found to be important in the region of momentum transfer near 3.5 fm−1. The mass dependence of these isobaric degrees of freedom in nuclei turns out to beA 5/6.  相似文献

Dimer models in two dimensions give rise to well-known statistical lattice problems, which can be exactly solved by the same combinatorial techniques associated with the Ising model and which have been used to account for the phase transitions in a number of physically interesting systems. More recently, dimer models have been regarded as classical limits of the quantum ground state of some antiferromagnetic systems. We then revisit an early transfer-matrix calculation for the dimer model on the simple square lattice. We write a spin representation for the transfer matrix associated with the canonical partition function of two paradigmatic dimers models, on the 4–8 lattice, with an Ising-type transition, and on the brick lattice, with a peculiar commensurate–incommensurate transition. Using standard techniques, the problem is reduced to the calculation of the eigenvalues of a system of free fermions.  相似文献

We have simulated two-dimensional classical XY-model in a microcanonical ensemble using the Monte Carlo technique. Simulations were carried out on a square lattice having 25, 100 or 900-spins with periodic boundary conditions. The nearest neighbour interaction potential was taken to beV(θ)=2J[1−cos100(θ/2)]. The system energy, mean square magnetization and vortex-density were calculated as functions of temperature. A sudden change in the system energy, vortex density and mean square magnetization was observed at the first-order transition which is associated with this choice of the nearest neighbour interaction potential. The transition temperature increases with decrease in the system size. It is found that the creation of a vortex-antivortex pair costs more energy during the first-order transition than the energy associated with a tightly bound vortex-antivortex pair.  相似文献

Magnetic moment and radius of the nucleon are calculated in a nonlocal extension of the chiral linear σ-model. Properties of the nonlocal model under the vector and axial transformations are considered. The conserved electromagnetic and vector currents, and partially conserved axial vector current are obtained. In the calculation of the nucleon electromagnetic vertex the π- and σ-loop diagrams are included. Contribution from vector mesons is added in the vector meson dominance model with a gauge-invariant photon-meson coupling. The nonlocality parameter associated with the πN interaction is fixed from the experimental magnetic moment of the neutron. Other parameters (nonlocality parameter for the σN interaction and the mass of the σ-meson) are constrained by the magnetic moment of the proton. The calculated electric and magnetic mean-square radii of the proton and neutron are in satisfactory agreement with experiment. Received: 12 February 2001 / Accepted: 4 September 2001  相似文献

We try to find a possible origin of the holographic principle in the Lorentz-covariant Yang’s quantized space-time algebra (YSTA). YSTA, which is intrinsically equipped with short- and long-scale parameters, λ and R, gives a finite number of spatial degrees of freedom for any bounded spatial region, providing a basis for divergence-free quantum field theory. Furthermore, it gives a definite kinematical reduction of spatial degrees of freedom, compared with the ordinary lattice space. On account of the latter fact, we find a certain kind of kinematical holographic relation in YSTA, which may be regarded as a primordial form of the holographic principle suggested so far in the framework of the present quantum theory that appears now in the contraction limit of YSTA, λ→0 and R→∞. We adopt an operational approach to quantum mechanics in which a physical system is defined by the mathematical structure of its set of states and properties. We present a model in which the maximal change of state of the system due to interaction with the measurement context is controlled by a parameter which corresponds with the number N of possible outcomes in an experiment. In the case N=2 the system reduces to a model for the spin measurements on a quantum spin-1/2 particle. In the limit N→∞ the system is classical, i.e. the experiments are deterministic and its set of properties is a Boolean lattice. For intermediate situations the change of state due to measurement is neither ‘maximal’ (i.e. quantum) nor ‘zero’ (i.e. classical). We show that two of the axioms used in Piron’s representation theorem for quantum mechanics are violated, namely the covering law and weak modularity. Next, we discuss a modified version of the model for which it is even impossible to define an orthocomplementation on the set of properties. Another interesting feature for the intermediate situations of this model is that the probability of a state transition in general not only depends on the two states involved, but also on the measurement context which induces the state transition.  相似文献

Thermodynamic quantities and correlation functions (CFs) of the classical antiferromagnet on the checkerboard lattice are studied for the exactly solvable infinite-component spin-vector model, D↦∞. In contrast to conventional two-dimensional magnets with continuous symmetry showing extended short-range order at distances smaller than the correlation length, r ξ c∝ exp(T */T), correlations in the checkerboard-lattice model decay already at the scale of the lattice spacing due to the strong degeneracy of the ground state characterized by a macroscopic number of strongly fluctuating local degrees of freedom. At low temperatures, spin CFs decay as < >∝ 1/r 2 in the range a 0r≪ξ cT -1/2, where a0 is the lattice spacing. Analytical results for the principal thermodynamic quantities in our model are very similar with MC simulations, exact and analytical results for the classical Heisenberg model (D = 3) on the pyrochlore lattice. This shows that the ground state of the infinite-component spin vector model on the checkerboard lattice is a classical spin liquid. The quasi-particle model of the quark–gluon plasma (QGP) is revisited here with a new method, different from earlier studies, one without the need of a temperature dependent bag constant and other effects such as confinement, effective degrees of freedom etc. Our model has only one system dependent parameter and shows a surprisingly good fit to the lattice results for the gluon plasma, and for 2-flavor, 3-flavor and (2+1)-flavor QGP. The basic idea is first to evaluate the energy density ε from the grand partition function of quasi-particle QGP, and then derive all other thermodynamic functions from ε. Quasi-particles are assumed to have a temperature dependent mass equal to the plasma frequency. Energy density, pressure and speed of sound at zero chemical potential are evaluated and compared with the available lattice data. We further extend the model to a finite chemical potential, without any new parameters, to obtain the quark density, quark susceptibility etc., and the model fits very well with the lattice results on 2-flavor QGP. We perform finite-pressure Monte Carlo simulations of an effective spin-analogous model with coupled magnetic and lattice degrees of freedom, which has previously been proposed in order to explain the anomalous temperature driven metamagnetic phase transition in α-FeRh. The results are in reasonable agreement with the experimental (p,?T) phase diagram. The critical behaviour of the system along the transition lines is analysed in detail.  相似文献

We consider a heavy quantum particle with an internal degree of freedom moving on the d-dimensional lattice _boxclose^d{{\mathbb Z}^d} (e.g., a heavy atom with finitely many internal states). The particle is coupled to a thermal medium (bath) consisting of free relativistic bosons (photons or Goldstone modes) through an interaction of strength λ linear in creation and annihilation operators. The mass of the quantum particle is assumed to be of order λ−2, and we assume that the internal degree of freedom is coupled “effectively” to the thermal medium. We prove that the motion of the quantum particle is diffusive in d ≥ 4 and for λ small enough.  相似文献

We present a large-scale Monte Carlo calculation of the deconfining phase transition temperature in lattice quantum chromodynamics without fermions. Using the Wilson action, the transition temperature as a function of the lattice couplingg is consistent with scaling behavior dictated by the perturbativeα function for 6/g2>6.15. The interacting polytropic gas dark energy model is investigated from the viewpoint of statefinder diagnostic tool and ww′ analysis. The dependency of the statefinder parameters on the parameter of the model as well as the interaction parameter between dark matter and dark energy is calculated. We show that different values of the parameters of model and different values of interaction parameter result different evolutionary trajectories in sr and ww′ planes. The polytropic gas model of dark energy mimics the standard ΛCDM model at the early time.  相似文献
