In the presence of self and cross saturation effects, the laser governing equations are nonlinear. To solve the governing equations of a fiber Bragg grating random laser, on the basis of the transfer matrix method, a simple and fast iterative method is introduced. The method is employed to obtain the frequency, threshold pumping rate and spatial distribution of different laser modes. Numerical calculations show that by increasing the number of fiber Bragg grating, the number of lasing modes increases, while the threshold pumping rate of the first mode decreases. Our theoretical results are in agreement with the experimental observations reported by previous authors.  相似文献

Pulsing random lasing property has been investigated in both one- and two-dimensional random medium by numerically solving Maxwell’s equations and rate equations in which the pumping rate is described by a time function with duration of 10s or 100s of femtoseconds. The peak intensity, width and delay time of a random lasing pulse are traced with the variation of the peak intensity, duration, shape and numbers of a pumping pulse. Results show that the behavior of random lasing depends strongly on the pumping process, some of which are in agreement with previously reported experiments pumped by femtosecond-lasing pulses. The present work enriches the knowledge about random lasers, especially in temporal regime, and could offer more guidance for relevant experiments.  相似文献

Temporal properties of random lasing under ultrashort pulse excitation are investigated in a two-dimensional disordered medium. The pumping light is described individually and coupled into the rate equations. The Maxwell equations and rate equations are numerically solved by using the finite-difference time domain method. The time evolution of the emission pulse is studied with the variation of the surface-filling fraction, refractive index,and scatterer radius. Results show that the behavior of random lasing depends strongly on the sample parameters. Our work enriches the knowledge about random lasers in the ultrashort pulse pumping regime and offers some guidance for relevant experiments.  相似文献

基于速率方程和Maxwell方程相结合的模型,采用时域有限差分法(FDTD)研究了介质的随机性和层数对部分随机介质激光器阈值的影响.模拟结果显示,当抽运速率超过阈值时,出现一个或者多个振荡模;随机性或者系统的尺度增加时,振荡模数量也增加;部分随机介质激光器的阈值在一定的随机强度和层数下将达到最小值,它与完全随机情况下的结论有所不同.对所得到的结论给出了物理解释.这些结果对于制作随机激光器和光集成潜在应用价值. 关键词: 激光物理 随机激光器 阈值 时域有限差分法  相似文献

为了研究固体激光器弛豫振荡的时间特性,针对高功率大口径Nd:YAG薄片激光器,从工作物质的能级结构和离子跃迁过程出发,采用四能级速率方程模型,综合考虑泵浦速率、损耗因子、温度等因素对激光器起振延迟时间的影响,建立了速率方程组,推导出激光起振延迟时间的数学表达式,模拟分析了泵浦速率、损耗因子、温度对激光起振延迟时间的影响。为验证理论分析结果,在kW级重复频率运行V型腔Nd:YAG薄片激光器上开展了实验研究。在泵浦电流分别为34,40,50,70 A时测量了反应谐振腔内光子数和反转粒子数变化的弛豫振荡曲线。并测量了在泵浦电流为30~80 A情况下的激光器起振延迟时间。实验结果表明起振延迟时间随泵浦速率的增加而减少,与理论分析结果一致。  相似文献

基于将Maxweil方程与四能级原子系统速率方程相结合而建立起的随机激光时域理论,并利用有限时域差分法,研究了一维随机激活介质中激光模式的输出强度与抽运速率之间的关系.结果表明,与传统激光模式相似,随机激光模式的强度随抽运速率的变化不仅具有阈值特性,而且具有饱和特性.用模式的空间区域来表征模式的局域化程度,发现局域化程度越强的模式,阈值越低.不过,这种关系不是一一对应的.这表明模式的局域化程度是决定阈值大小的重要因素,但不是唯一的因素.  相似文献

本文基于随机激光的时域理论,研究了飞秒脉冲抽运下二维随机激光的辐射特性,并着重讨论了抽运脉冲的峰值强度、脉宽和脉冲波形对辐射光时域波形的影响.结果表明, 辐射光的时域波形强烈依赖于抽运光脉冲的参数,通过调整抽运方式可以控制辐射光的输出波形.数值模拟结果为研究随机激光输出波形的可控性技术提供了理论依据. 关键词: 激光物理 随机激光器 飞秒抽运 脉冲波形  相似文献

基于随机激光的时域理论,利用时域有限差分法(FDTD)数值求解麦克斯韦方程组和速率方程组,利用分区域计算法,分别计算了整体和局部泵浦二维随机介质时,不同泵浦强度下,不同区域的辐射谱,得出了随机介质中模式的空间局域化分布。计算结果显示,同样条件下不同区域的辐射谱是不同的,且随着激励源泵浦强度的变化,随机激光辐射始终集中在介质中某几个固定区域,但各个区域的随机激射效率不同,在区域之间存在模式的空间范围重叠。利用该方法,可以分析介质的随机分布对随机激射的影响,理论上可以为高激射效率的伪随机介质制备提供一定指导。  相似文献

 受激拉曼散射和热效应会限制光纤激光器功率的提高。利用高功率光纤激光器的速率方程和热传导方程,理论研究了双端泵浦和分布泵浦下双包层光纤激光器的受激拉曼散射和热效应,得到了光纤中的泵浦光、激光和斯托克斯光的功率分布,光纤激光器的输出特性以及光纤中的温度分布。分析表明,当泵浦功率增大到一定值时,光纤激光器中出现SRS,一部分激光功率会转移给斯托克斯光,影响激光功率进一步提高;与双端泵浦方式相比,分布泵浦下光纤激光器的斜率效率和最大输出功率相差不大,但是,光纤中的温度分布被有效地降低,因此,分布泵浦方式更为有效。  相似文献

The polarization-dependent competition on inversed population with local pumping in two-dimensional (2D) active random media is investigated by simultaneously solving Maxwell’s equations and rate equations of electronic population for both transverse magnetic (TM) and transverse electric (TE) modes. The threshold property of the two polarization states with local pumping is analyzed. Results show that the lasing threshold of TM modes is lower than that of TE ones when the radius of the local pumping region is suitably selected, and the case would be contrary when the selected radius of the local pumping region is excessive.  相似文献

In this paper, the lasing action in three-dimensional active random systems has been numerically investigated. Here, random systems of spherical dielectric particles imbedded in an active medium are considered. The quasi steady state approximation for the population inversion of the active medium is applied to solve three dimensional governing equations. Results show that when the density of particles increases to an upper limit, the intensity of lasing modes is enhanced. Also, the effects of pumping rate and particle size on the number of lasing modes and their intensity are studied. Lasing threshold of laser modes in different disordered systems is calculated and it is shown that by an appropriate selection of the central frequency of gain line-shape, the output power intensity of random lasers increases. These results are in agreement with the experimental results observed by others.  相似文献

A single evolution equation is established to treat the mechanisms of fluorescence and the laser effect, using a mixed representation, classical for the electromagnetic field and quantum for the dipoles. The model approach takes advantage of the principle of conservation of energy for the system of electromagnetic field and dynamic dipole. A resulting nonlinear differential equation is derived and is shown to sustain two fixed points associated with fluorescence and laser emission. The existence of a pumping threshold is confirmed for the laser effect. In particular the pumping rate determines whether light will be emitted by fluorescence or by the laser effect, and there is no pumping that engenders fluorescence and laser emission simultaneously. The initial physical conditions, chosen to integrate the evolution equation in time, assume a nonvanishing electric polarization of the emitting dipole rather than a nonvanishing electromagnetic field. The distribution function accounting for the thermal fluctuations of the random initial polarization is also calculated.  相似文献

A model to simulate the phenomenon of random lasing is presented. It couples Maxwell's equations with the rate equations of electronic population in a disordered system. Finite difference time domain methods are used to obtain the field pattern and the spectra of localized lasing modes inside the system. A critical pumping rate P(c)(r) exists for the appearance of the lasing peaks. The number of lasing modes increases with the pumping rate and the length of the system. There is a lasing mode repulsion. This property leads to a saturation of the number of modes for a given size system and a relation between the localization length xi and average mode length L(m).  相似文献

The kinetics of iodine laser amplifiers is examined by solving the time evolution equations of chemical kinetics during optical pumping. The pumping radiation intensity is modelled by a black body of the temperature varying in time (corresponding to the flash lamp pulse). A brief comparison is made of pumping effects by long and short light pulses. Pumping by the long pulse is studied in more detail and it is found that there exists an optimum pulse strength beyond which the inversion in the laser mixture no longer grows appreciably, only its lifetime is shortened. In this connection the effect of pyrolysis of the alkyliodide molecule is also discussed. The pyrolysis is found to occur under very strong illumination, but it does not interfere with the photolytic decomposition and the optimum laser action. Finally, the influence of the reaction rate constants is studied in a systematic way and only few of them are found to carry real weight.The authors are obliged to Drs. S. V. Kuznetsova and A. I. The coherent control of field-free molecular orientation of CO with combined femtosecond single- and dual-color laser pulses has been theoretically studied. The effect of the delay time between the femtosecond single- and dual-color laser pulses is discussed, and the physical mechanism of the enhancement of molecular orientation with pre-alignment of the molecule is investigated. It is found that the basic mechanism is based on the creation of a rotational wave packet by the femtosecond single-color laser pulse. Furthermore, we investigate the interference between multiple rotational excitation pathways following pre-alignment with femtosecond single-color laser pulse. It is shown that such interference can lead to an enhancement of the orientation of CO molecule by a factor of 1.6.  相似文献

提出一种新的激光增益介质板条抽运结构,这种结构能对由激光增益介质板条温度分布不均所造成的波面热畸变实现自校正,并建立了这种抽运结构下激光增益介质板条的瞬态温度分布理论模型,通过解热传导方程,推导出板条增益介质的瞬态温度分布的解析表达式。同时对抽运参量分别为抽运脉冲能量为5.8×104J、抽运重复频率为2Hz和抽运脉冲能量为3.2×104J、重复频率为10Hz两种情况下两种下N-31型钕玻璃板条的瞬态温度分布分别进行了数值计算,分别给出两种情况下10s内和60s时钕玻璃板条的温度分布图并对结果进行了分析和对比,表明采用这种抽运结构的增益介质板条激光器可以以类似热容激光器的方式在短时间内实现高平均功率、高光束质量运转。  相似文献

The rate equation model of an extracavity Raman laser is deduced for the first time to the best knowledge of the authors. The normalized radiation transfer equations of the extracavity Raman laser are given. The normalized radiation transfer equations and rate equations were solved numerically to find the optimum reflectivity of the output coupler to realize the maximum conversion efficiency at the first Stokes for both the single and double-pass pumping configurations. Also, the pulse duration of the first Stokes was investigated numerically. The rate equations are verified to be a good approximation to the radiation transfer equations for the regime of low Raman gain and long pump pulse duration. Furthermore, it is found that the optimum reflectivity of the first Stokes and the second Stokes threshold are influenced significantly by the minor feedback of the resonator mirror at the second Stokes.
