Based on the Frenet frame, this paper proposes a general mathematical spiral model with an arbitrary smooth space curve as the center path, which can accurately build complex skeleton lines of wire rope strands. From the aspect of geometry, all the wires are spatial cylinders and must meet the actual geometric requirements: 1. The center cylinder is tangent or separated from the spiral cylinder; 2. The adjacent spiral cylinders do not overlap each other. For requirement 1, Costello’ conclusion is referenced and extended universally to suit an arbitrary smooth space central curve case with rigorous proofs. For requirement 2, the overlapping problem is described as obtaining the minimum distance between the two adjacent spatial path curves, which is deduced by a novel cross section method (SCM) with rigorous proofs and solved by the General Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. Based on the above models, the geometric modeling of wire rope strands procedure is proposed and implemented on the platforms of MATLAB and SolidWorks. Validations are conducted through geometric graphical representations, compared with those from some previous researches. For the simple straight strand case, when the number of spiral cylinders and spiral radius are given, the critical relationship between the ratio of spiral wire radius to spiral radius and the spiral angle is firstly obtained, which can be a precise dimension design reference of simple straight strand for eliminating initial geometric overlap. Further, to show the advance, some precise graphical examples of complex wire rope strands like independent wire rope core (IWRC) and multilayered rope are presented. The wire rope strands geometric modeling method proposed in this paper is precise enough averting initial geometric overlap between the wires for the benefit of subsequent mechanical computation accuracy and efficiency.  相似文献

We investigate a mathematical model for induction hardening of steel. It accounts for electromagnetic effects that lead to the heating of the workpiece as well as thermomechanical effects that cause the hardening of the workpiece. The new contribution of this paper is that we put a special emphasis on the thermomechanical effects caused by the phase transitions. We take care of effects like transformation strain and transformation plasticity induced by the phase transitions and allow for physical parameters depending on the respective phase volume fractions.The coupling between the electromagnetic and the thermomechanical part of the model is given through the temperature-dependent electric conductivity on the one hand and through the Joule heating term on the other hand, which appears in the energy balance and leads to the rise in temperature. Owing to the quadratic Joule heat term and a quadratic mechanical dissipation term in the energy balance, we obtain a parabolic equation with L1 data. We prove existence of a weak solution to the complete system using a truncation argument.  相似文献

This paper addresses a new hot rolling scheduling problem from the compact strip production process, which is the mainstream production technology that is used worldwide for sheet strips. The problem is modeled as a combination of two coupled sub-problems. One sub-problem is a sheet strip assignment problem that assigns sheet strips to rolling turns with the constraints of safe values of different gauge levels, and the other is a sheet strip sequencing problem that decides the rolling sequence for all of the sheet strips in a rolling turn to form a particular parabolic shape in thickness. To solve this hot rolling scheduling problem, we present a novel approach that consists of a sheet strip assignment heuristic and a sheet strip sequencing heuristic. The sheet strip assignment heuristic minimizes the number of virtual sheet strips by generating rolling turns according to the ordered sheet strips with maximum gauge level and their safe values. The sheet strip sequencing heuristic minimizes the average change of the thickness of adjacent sheet strips by arranging a certain number of duplicate sheet strips to the increasing stage of a rolling turn. Extensive experiments based on both synthetic and real-world instances from a compact strip production process show the effectiveness of the proposed two-stage heuristic in solving the hot rolling scheduling problem.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the process of hot-rolling steel strip.The thickness is reduced by passing the strip through a sequenceof rollers with reductions varying from 40% at the first rollpair to about 10% at the last pair. Between the roll pairs,the strip deflection curve is controlled by a looper roll. Amathematical model of the coupled roll gap and interstand regionis required to assist in the initial setup so as to spread theloads and torques evenly through the roll stands. In this paper we have proposed and analyzed a non-linear mathematical model for unemployment by considering three variables, namely the numbers of unemployed, temporarily employed and regularly employed persons. The model is studied using the stability theory of differential equations. It is found that the model has only one equilibrium, which is non-linearly stable under certain conditions. Numerical simulation of the model has been carried out to confirm the analytical results.  相似文献

In this paper, a nonlinear mathematical model is proposed and analyzed to study the interactions of hot gases with cloud droplets as well as with raindrops and their removal by rain from the stable atmosphere. The atmosphere, during rain, is assumed to consist of five nonlinearly interacting phases i.e. the vapour phase, the phase of cloud droplets, the phase of raindrops, the phase of hot gaseous pollutants and the absorbed phase of hot gases in the raindrops (if it exists). It is further assumed that these phases undergo ecological type growth and nonlinear interactions. The proposed model is analyzed using stability theory of differential equations and by numerical simulation. It is shown that the cumulative concentration of gaseous pollutants decreases due to rain and its equilibrium level depends upon the density of cloud droplets, the rate of formation of raindrops, emission rate of pollutants, the rate of falling absorbed phase on the ground, etc. It is noted here that if gases are very hot, cloud droplets are not formed and rain may not take place. In such a case gaseous pollutants may not be removed from the atmosphere due to non-occurrence of rain.  相似文献

Asset price dynamics is studied by using a system of ordinary differential equations which is derived by utilizing a new excess demand function introduced by Caginalp [4] for a market involving more information on demand and supply for a stock rather than their values at a particular price. Derivation is based on the finiteness of assets (rather than assuming unbounded arbitrage) in addition to investment strategies that are based on not only price momentum (trend) but also valuation considerations. For this new model and the older models which were extracted using the classical excess demand function by Caginalp and Balenovich [2] and [3], time evolutions of asset price are compared through numerical simulations.  相似文献

J. Banasiak We discuss a mixed‐suspension, mixed‐product removal crystallizer operated at thermodynamic equilibrium. We derive and discuss the mathematical model based on population and mass balance equations and prove local existence and uniqueness of solutions using the method of characteristics. We also discuss the global existence of solutions for continuous and batch mode. Finally, a numerical simulation of a continuous crystallizer in steady state is presented. The full amount is to be invested in six investments, namely: long‐term bonds, short‐term bonds, treasury bonds, common stock, treasury bills, and commercial paper. The investment is made according to weights assigned to safety of principal, growth, current income, taxable income and volatility. We present a mathematical model of impulse resistance welding. It accounts for electrical, thermal and mechanical effects, which are non‐linearly coupled by the balance laws, constitutive equations and boundary conditions. The electrical effects of the weld machine are incorporated by a discrete oscillator circuit which is coupled to the field equations by a boundary condition. We prove the existence of weak solutions for a slightly simplified model which however still covers most of its essential features, e.g. the quadratic Joule heat term and a quadratic term due to non‐elastic energy dissipation. We study a mathematical model for laser-induced thermotherapy, a minimally invasive cancer treatment. The model consists of a diffusion approximation of the radiation transport equation coupled to a bio-heat equation and a model to describe the evolution of the coagulated zone. Special emphasis is laid on a refined model of the applicator device, accounting for the effect of coolant flow inside. Comparisons between experiment and simulations show that the model is able to predict the experimentally achieved temperatures reasonably well.  相似文献

In this paper a mathematical model of AIDS is investigated. The conditions of the existence of equilibria and local stability of equilibria are given. The existences of transcritical bifurcation and Hopf bifurcation are also considered, in particular, the conditions for the existence of Hopf bifurcation can be given in terms of the coefficients of the characteristic equation. A new mathematical model is suggested for nonuniform deformation of composite materials valid for arbitrary external load gradients. As a basis stochastic equations are suggested for the statics of an elastic microinhomogeneous two-component material with volumetric forces differing from zero.
