The high efficacy of iron-containing catalysts based on SiO2–Al2O3 systems obtained via sol–gel method in the oxidative destruction of carmoisine azo dye in aqueous solutions is demonstrated. It is found that the stability of the catalysts with respect to the leaching of iron ions into a solution during catalysis grows along with the aluminum content in the composition of aluminosilicate supports. It is concluded that the synthesized catalysts are promising materials for purifying wastewaters contaminated with organic dyes.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline powders of CuAlO2 were synthesized through sol–gel method using nitrate-citrate route and also through solid state reaction method. We used a new set of precursor materials for the synthesis of CuAlO2 through sol–gel route which were not reported in the past. A little lowering of the synthesis temperature (1,000 °C) was observed in case of sol–gel process compared to the solid state reaction method (1,100 °C) and also at shorter time duration. The particle size of the synthesized powders was determined through small angle X-ray scattering. It has been observed that the particle size prepared by nitrate-citrate technique is less than the particle size prepared by the solid-state reaction method. Chemical states of the atomic species were determined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The formation of phase pure CuAlO2 were also confirmed by Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy. A number of solvents were also used for finding the best possible combinations for obtaining phase pure CuAlO2 at 1,000 °C and it was observed that only the combination of nitrate salts, citric acid and ethanol resulted phase pure CuAlO2.  相似文献

In situ base catalyst assisted sol–gel process is used for the synthesis of nanocrystalline CoFe2O4 deposition on SiO2 particles. The SiO2 particles were prepared using base catalyst assisted sol–gel process and the consecutive formation and deposition of nanocrystalline CoFe2O4 on SiO2 particles was monitored using Powder X ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Thermo Gravimetric And Differential Thermal Analysis (TG/DTA), Scanning Electron Microscopy and Energy Dispersive X ray Spectroscopy (SEM–EDS) and High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM). The crystallite size of CoFe2O4 is calculated using Scherrer’s formula and it is found to be 8 nm. The HRTEM images and selective area electron diffraction (SAED) results confirmed the formation of nanocrystalline CoFe2O4 particles deposited over SiO2 spheres.  相似文献

A sol–gel route was developed to prepare pure ultrafine LiTaO3 powders using Ta2O5, Li2CO3, citric acid (CA) as chelating agent, ethylene glycol (EG) as esterification agent and polyethylene glycol (PEG) as dispersant. The effects of pH value and heat treatment temperature of powder precursor on the synthesis of LiTaO3 powders were investigated. The phase content and morphology of the final product were evaluated by XRD, SEM and TEM. A transparent gel was produced when heating a mixed-solution of CA, EG, Li and Ta ions with a molar ratio of [CA]:[EG]:[Li]:[Ta] = 3.0:6.0:1.0:1.0 and 2‰ PEG additions with a pH value of 7 at water bath temperature of 80 °C. The results showed that single phase LiTaO3 powders with average particle sizes of nanometers were produced after heat treatment of the powder precursor at 650, 700, 800, and 900 °C respectively for 2 h.  相似文献

In this study, the role of TiO2 MT-150A loading in the polymeric sol was investigated for the synthesis of immobilized TiO2 nanocomposite films on glass substrate using the MT-150A nanoparticles-modified sol–gel method. The nanocomposite film properties were examined using different material characterization techniques including X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy, UV–Vis spectrophotometer, Scotch tape test and pencil hardness test. The hydrophilicity of films during UV/Vis irradiation and storage in a dark place were evaluated by a contact angle analyzer. The MT-150A loading had a significant effect on the amount of crystallite phases in the films. However, increasing the MT-150A loading in the sol resulted in an increase in rutile phase content. In addition, increasing MT-150A loading in the sol yielded films with higher hydrophilicity but a concentration of 10–30 g/L MT-150A in the sol was found as the maximum for obtaining films with good adherence on the glass substrate.  相似文献

Al2O3–TiO2 nanocrystalline powders were synthesized by sol–gel process. Aluminum sec-butoxide and titanium isopropoxide chemicals were used as precursors and ethyl acetoacetate was used as chelating agent. Thermal and crystallization behaviors of the precursor powders were investigated by thermal gravimetric-differential thermal analysis, Fourier-transform infrared spectrum and X-ray diffraction. The average crystalline size of heat treated Al2O3–TiO2 powders at 1,100 °C is ~100 nm.  相似文献

Ba2Co2Fe12O22 (Co2Y) was synthesized by sol–gel method using glucose as chelating agent. X-Ray diffraction studies indicate that sintering temperature as low as 950 °C is sufficient to produce Co2Y ferrites. Co2Y ferrites calcined at 1,000 °C exhibit good magnetic prosperities in high frequency, with the resonance frequency up to 11 GHz and intrinsic permeability about 5 even at 6 GHz. The heat-treated temperature dependence of coercivity, initial permeability and resonance frequency is close related to the particle shape and size.  相似文献

In this work, the structure and thermal properties of aluminosilicate fritted glazes in SiO2–Al2O3–CaO–MgO–Na2O–K2O–ZnO system with (4.0 mol%) and without addition of ZnO were examined by GIXRD, FTIR, MAS-NMR and thermal methods (DTA, DIL). It has been found that the all experimental glazes are amorphous material (transparent glazes). On the base of spectroscopic investigations, it was found that zinc ions exist in the network glazes in the octahedral coordination—Zn2+ ions play a network modifier role in structure of glazes. An analysis of the data obtained from thermal tests showed that addition of ZnO into chemical composition results in decrease in glass transition temperature value (T g) for all glazes (DTA, DIL). The coefficient of thermal expansion (α) is decreased as the whole measurement range for one series of fritted glazes.  相似文献

Magnetic bioglasses in the system CaO–SiO2–P2O5 were prepared by interaction of acetic acid vapors with iron nitrate dispersed on the surface of sol–gel derived porous silicate network. Upon pyrolysis, the created iron acetate species transform into magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles. X-ray diffraction (XRD), FT-infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and surface area measurements (BET) were employed to monitor the evolution of glass structural features during the synthetic pathway as well as the structure and the texture of the resultant glasses. XRD, Raman spectroscopy and vibration magnetic measurements (VSM) revealed the features of magnetic phases, developed in the form of γ-Fe2O3 and magnetite. The obtained glasses exhibit in vitro bioactivity, expressed by spontaneous formation of hydroxyapatite on their surface after immersion in SBF at 37 °C, confirmed with μ-Raman and FT-IR spectroscopies.  相似文献

Lithium intercalation materials are of special interest as cathodes in rechargeable batteries. An uncomplicated sol–gel process has been used for the synthesis of Li–Co phosphates powders and, for the first time, of LiCoPO4 films. The powders were prepared from aqueous solutions, containing Li, Co and phosphate precursors to which acid citric and ethylene glycol was added, during the drying process at 75 °C. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the prepared powders confirmed the presence of LiCoPO4 with an olivine-like structure as main phase. The morphological investigations of the powder showed a platelet-like structure with an average grain size of 0.75 μm. The films of LiCoPO4 were deposited onto ITO glass substrates with the combination of the dip-coating process under the same conditions. Finally, the films were annealed in inert atmosphere at 300 °C. The morphological investigations reveal a smooth and homogeneous surface of the prepared Li–Co phosphate films. The preliminary electrical investigation on the prepared LiCoPO4 films showed lithium ions electrochemical activity in the range 3.0–4.5 V.  相似文献

The present work deals with the synthesis of Ni–SiO2–Al2O3 nanocomposites fabricated by embedding nickel oxide particles, obtained from hexahydrated nickel nitrate [Ni(NO3)2 · 6H2O], in matrixes with different molar percents of Silica/Alumina, through sol–gel method based on hydrolysis and condensation of tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) and Aluminum Isopropoxide [Al(OC3H7)3] alkoxides. Due to the various factors, e.g., pH, EtOH/TEOS/H2O ratio, Si/Ni ratio etc., influencing the nickel grain size of the nanocomposites, Taguchi robust design method of system optimization was used to determine the percent of contribution (%ρ) of each factor. The nanocomposites were reduced in a flow of hydrogen and nitrogen gas at 700 °C for half an hour. The nickel grain size in the nanocomposites was determined by utilizing Scherrer`s method and XRD patterns. The smallest nickel grain size obtained from the Taguchi orthogonal array was about 24 nm, later confirmed by TEM observations. After optimization of the controlling factors, a nickel grain size of 15.4 nm was obtained. It was found that the SiO2/Al2O3 molar ratio of the matrix had the most influence on the nickel grain size (29.22%) and the Water/TEOS molar ratio stood in second place (21.44%). It was illustrated that the starting temperature of the aluminum isopropoxide had the least influence on the nickel grain size.  相似文献

Via sol–gel processing metal–organic fibers were produced and dried up to 140 °C. For these gel fibers the influence of a treatment in different atmospheres was investigated for the temperature range of 200–850 °C. The atmospheres were nitrogen, water vapor, evaporated nitric and hydrochloric acid and evaporated hydrogen peroxide. In the presence of moisture and especially with acidic moisture fibers were transformed almost completely to their oxide composition (82 mol% Al2O3·18 mol% Y2O3). In these inorganic amorphous structures considerable differences were observed on several structural levels. On the atomic scale, the coordination of Al ions was investigated by 27Al MAS NMR and skeletal density by He-pycnometry. Porosity in the nm scale was characterized by N2-sorption. As a macroscopic effect of different treatment atmospheres, the longitudinal shrinkage was observed. For fibers treated at 500 °C the relative shrinkage varied by 100% (comparing water vapor and nitrogen atmosphere). No simple correlation between the release of organic constituents, the formation of porosity and the shrinkage could be found. These aspects were controlled by the rigidity of the inorganic network against atomic reconstitution. The kind of atmosphere was found to be an effective parameter to control various aspects of the xerogel structure.  相似文献

Two mesoporous alumina samples were synthesized using the sol–gel method, and these samples were tested as catalysts in trichloroethylene combustion reaction. One alumina sample was doped with Fe to study the influence of a small amount of this agent on the characteristics and properties of alumina as a catalyst. Both catalysts (pure alumina and alumina doped with Fe) were thoroughly characterized by different techniques, such as DTA/TGA, FT-IR, XRD, SEM and TEM, and the porous characterization was conducted using a N2 physisorption technique. The doping agent presented a particular influence on the morphology and textural porosity in the alumina catalyst and therefore, it exhibited different catalytic behavior than the pure alumina catalyst. For both catalysts, the crystalline phase of γ-alumina was reported using XRD technique, and the crystallite size ranged from 7.8 to 12.8 nm. Using TEM images, the alumina catalyst doped with Fe revealed to contain a mixture of three types of iron oxide (maghemite, magnetite and hematite), mainly as roughly spherical nanoparticles. For both alumina catalysts, trichloroethylene catalytic combustion was conducted on a packed bed reactor in air at a temperature range of 50 to 600 °C. The alumina catalyst doped with Fe showed a higher catalytic activity than pure alumina, mainly due to the presence of micropores and grain morphology of flat faces.  相似文献

Thermal properties of raw aluminosilicate ceramic glazes in the multicomponent system of SiO2–Al2O3–CaO–K2O–Na2O–ZnO modified by ZnO addition were studied by differential thermal analysis (DTA), dilatometry (DIL), hot-stage microscopy (HSM), X-ray diffraction and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Using the method of differential thermal analysis, the ways in which zinc oxides affect the temperature of transition (T g), crystallisation (T c) were determined. An analysis of the DTA data obtained during thermal tests showed that an increase in ZnO content results in decreasing the T g value. Also, the influence of ZnO on characteristic temperatures and viscosity of glazes was checked. The introduction of zinc oxide (ZnO) into the glaze composition contributes to the decrease in viscosity of such glazes. An increasing ZnO content in the glazes also causes the reduction in softening (T s), half-sphere (T half-sphere) and fusion (T fusion) temperatures. The mid-infrared spectroscopy showed that the thermal properties of glazes in SiO2–Al2O3–CaO–K2O–Na2O–ZnO system modified by addition of ZnO can be associated with the depolymerising influence of zinc ions on the structure of the tested glazes.  相似文献

The effects of gamma irradiation on crystallization kinetics and microhardness properties of the Li2O–Al2O3–SiO2 (LAS) glass–ceramic sample have been investigated. The glass–ceramic was irradiated to γ-source 60Co of 0.7 MGy. The crystallization kinetics of the irradiated and non-irradiated samples were characterized using differential scanning calorimetry. The crystallization kinetics and microhardness properties of the glass–ceramic changed the gamma irradiation, and the high dose of gamma irradiation affects significantly the crystallization kinetics and microhardness properties of the Li2O–Al2O3–SiO2 glass–ceramic sample.  相似文献

SiO2 sols were prepared by hydrolysis and condensation reactions of tetraethyl orthosilicate through a one step acid or a two step acid + base catalysis process, in the presence of nitric acid and four different base catalyzers, namely trimethylamine, triethylamine, tripropylamine and tributylamine. Hydrolysis of TEOS was followed by FT-IR analyses. Particle size distributions of the sols were evaluated after predetermined durations in 1–22 days. Particle growth was seen to be faster in amine catalyzed systems than in one step acid catalyzed system. The highest rate of growth was in triethylamine catalyzed system. Glass substrates were dip coated with the prepared SiO2 sols. Effect of sol aging duration on film thickness and on light transmittance properties of the films was investigated with respect to type of base catalyst. Thicknesses of the films which were measured to be in the range of 100–400 nm, were seen to increase with aging duration of the sols. Triethylamine catalyzed system presented the highest film thickness. Films obtained from one step acid catalyzed system presented an increase of 4.8%; whereas acid + base catalyzed films provided an increase in the light transmittance of 5.7% in the first 4 days of aging. Surfaces of films were examined by FESEM and AFM. The antireflective character of the films was verified by diffuse reflectance analyses.  相似文献

A glass with the composition of the SiO2–Na2O–CaO–P2O5 was synthesized by sol–gel method at temperature of 900 °C, and then yttrium-, silver- and cerium-containing glasses were prepared at the same conditions using this base system. The structural and thermal properties of the glass samples were investigated by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy and differential thermal analysis techniques. The Ca5(PO4)2(SiO4)6 phase having the orthorhombic crystal system is detected for each sample without any secondary phase, and this phase is confirmed by the FTIR spectra. With the addition of Y, Ag and Ce to the SiO2–Na2O–CaO–P2O5 system, the variations in the average crystallite size, crystallinity percent, lattice parameters and unit cell volume are observed. A decrease in the crystallization peak temperature and the changes in the glass transition temperature are seen with the addition of Y, Ag and Ce to the base system. The addition of Y, Ag and Ce to the base glass increases significantly its density. The EDX spectra of the as-prepared samples verify the introduction of the as-mentioned elements.  相似文献

The total mass attenuation coefficients, partial interaction and the effective atomic numbers (Zeff) of glass system (80−x)B2O3–10Al2O3–10SiO2xCaF2 (where x = 5, 10, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 mol %) have been calculated at photon energies 0.662 and 1.25 MeV using the WinXCom software on the basis of mixture rule. Results indicated that the total mass attenuation coefficients showed a decrease with increasing the CaF2 concentration, due to a decrease in Compton scattering probability, which gave a dominant contribution to the total mass attenuation coefficients for the studied glass samples at both energies. However, the photoelectric absorption and coherent scattering showed an increase with increasing the CaF2, concentrations at same energies. For a comparison, the total mass attenuation coefficients of the glass system had lower values at the energy 1.25 MeV than that at 0.662 MeV. Zeff was found to increase linearly with the increase of CaF2 concentrations. It was concluded that low CaF2 concentrations in glass system, under study, have Zeff close to that of human tissue and have higher total absorption coefficients at energy of 0.662 MeV than that at 1.25 MeV. These results are very useful in designing gamma radiation detectors using thermoluminescence technique. Therefore, it is recommended to use low CaF2 concentration of our glass system as good gamma detectors at energy of 1.25 MeV.  相似文献

Radiation-induced degradation of the weakly and strongly 4-vinylpyridine basic ion exchange resins by gamma radiolysis was investigated in the presence of air and liquid water. This study is focused on evaluating the radiolytic gases (H2, CO, CO2 and CH4) and liquid products (water-solute TOC and NH4 +). The weakly basic resin yielded lower amounts of H2 and CO and higher amounts of CO2 than those of the strongly basic resin. Moreover, the strong basic resin tended to yield greater amounts of NH4 +. Resins were characterized by the FTIR spectroscopy technique and the results showed that the resins structures are relatively stable.  相似文献

In this work, we report the synthesis, characterization and catalytic properties of a vanadium oxide–silicon oxide composite xerogel prepared by a soft chemistry approach. In order to obtain such material, we submitted a vanadium pentoxide gel previously synthesized via protonation of metavanadate species to an “in situ” progressive polycondensation into silica gel. The material has been characterized by X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and scanning electron microscopy. Further, the catalytic activity of this material was evaluated for the epoxidation of styrene and cyclooctene using iodosylbenzene, hydrogen peroxide and m-chloroperbenzoic acid as the oxidizing agent.  相似文献
