We prove that if for a continuous map f on a compact metric space X, the chain recurrent set, R(f) has more than one chain component, then f does not satisfy the asymptotic average shadowing property. We also show that if a continuous map f on a compact metric space X has the asymptotic average shadowing property and if A is an attractor for f, then A is the single attractor for f and we have A=R(f). We also study diffeomorphisms with asymptotic average shadowing property and prove that if M is a compact manifold which is not finite with dimM=2, then the C1 interior of the set of all C1 diffeomorphisms with the asymptotic average shadowing property is characterized by the set of Ω-stable diffeomorphisms. 相似文献

Suppose X is a real q-uniformly smooth Banach space and F,K:X→X are Lipschitz ?-strongly accretive maps with D(K)=F(X)=X. Let u∗ denote the unique solution of the Hammerstein equation u+KFu=0. An iteration process recently introduced by Chidume and Zegeye is shown to converge strongly to u∗. No invertibility assumption is imposed on K and the operators K and F need not be defined on compact subsets of X. Furthermore, our new technique of proof is of independent interest. In this paper, we study degenerate CR embeddings f of a strictly pseudoconvex hypersurface M⊂Cn+1 into a sphere S in a higher dimensional complex space CN+1. The degeneracy of the mapping f will be characterized in terms of the ranks of the CR second fundamental form and its covariant derivatives. In 2004, the author, together with X. Huang and D. Zaitsev, established a rigidity result for CR embeddings f into spheres in low codimensions. A key step in the proof of this result was to show that degenerate mappings are necessarily contained in a complex plane section of the target sphere (partial rigidity). In the 2004 paper, it was shown that if the total rank d of the second fundamental form and all of its covariant derivatives is <n (here, n is the CR dimension of M), then f(M) is contained in a complex plane of dimension n+d+1. The converse of this statement is also true, as is easy to see. When the total rank d exceeds n, it is no longer true, in general, that f(M) is contained in a complex plane of dimension n+d+1, as can be seen by examples. In this paper, we carry out a systematic study of degenerate CR mappings into spheres. We show that when the ranks of the second fundamental form and its covariant derivatives exceed the CR dimension n, then partial rigidity may still persist, but there is a “defect” k that arises from the ranks exceeding n such that f(M) is only contained in a complex plane of dimension n+d+k+1. We study the well-posedness of general reflected BSDEs driven by a continuous martingale, when the coefficient f of the driver has at most quadratic growth in the control variable Z, with a bounded terminal condition and a lower obstacle which is bounded above. We obtain the basic results in this setting: comparison and uniqueness, existence, stability. For the comparison theorem and the special comparison theorem for reflected BSDEs (which allows one to compare the increasing processes of two solutions), we give intrinsic proofs which do not rely on the comparison theorem for standard BSDEs. This allows to obtain the special comparison theorem under minimal assumptions. We obtain existence by using the fixed point theorem and then a series of perturbations, first in the case where f is Lipschitz in the primary variable Y, and then in the case where f can have slightly-superlinear growth and the case where f is monotonous in Y with arbitrary growth. We also obtain a local Lipschitz estimate in BMO for the martingale part of the solution. 相似文献

Under the assumption that E is a reflexive Banach space whose norm is uniformly Gêteaux differentiable and which has a weakly continuous duality mapping Jφ with gauge function φ, Ceng–Cubiotti–Yao [Strong convergence theorems for finitely many nonexpansive mappings and applications, Nonlinear Analysis 67 (2007) 1464–1473] introduced a new iterative scheme for a finite commuting family of nonexpansive mappings, and proved strong convergence theorems about this iteration. Let G be a group. Any G-module M has an algebraic structure called a G-family of Alexander quandles. Given a 2-cocycle of a cohomology associated with this G-family, topological invariants of (handlebody) knots in the 3-sphere are defined. We develop a simple algorithm to algebraically construct n-cocycles of this G-family from G-invariant group n-cocycles of the abelian group M. We present many examples of 2-cocycles of these G-families using facts from (modular) invariant theory. 相似文献

Recently Proinov [P.D. Proinov, A generalization of the Banach contraction principle with high order of convergence of successive approximations, Nonlinear Analysis (2006), doi:10.1016/j.na.2006.09.008] generalized Banach contraction principle with high order of convergence. We extend some results of Proinov to the case of multi-valued maps from a complete metric space X into the space of all nonempty proximinal closed subsets of X. Our results not only generalize Nadler’s fixed-point theorem (in the case when T is a mapping from a complete metric space X into the space of all nonempty proximinal closed subsets of X) but also gives high order of convergence. As an application, we obtain an existence theorem for first-order initial value problem. 相似文献

We develop a notion of nonlinear expectation–G-expectation–generated by a nonlinear heat equation with infinitesimal generator G. We first study multi-dimensional G-normal distributions. With this nonlinear distribution we can introduce our G-expectation under which the canonical process is a multi-dimensional G-Brownian motion. We then establish the related stochastic calculus, especially stochastic integrals of Itô’s type with respect to our G-Brownian motion, and derive the related Itô’s formula. We have also obtained the existence and uniqueness of stochastic differential equations under our G-expectation. 相似文献

We prove the Arad–Herzog conjecture for various families of finite simple groups — if A and B are nontrivial conjugacy classes, then AB is not a conjugacy class. We also prove that if G is a finite simple group of Lie type and A and B are nontrivial conjugacy classes, either both semisimple or both unipotent, then AB is not a conjugacy class. We also prove a strong version of the Arad–Herzog conjecture for simple algebraic groups and in particular show that almost always the product of two conjugacy classes in a simple algebraic group consists of infinitely many conjugacy classes. As a consequence we obtain a complete classification of pairs of centralizers in a simple algebraic group which have dense product. A special case of this has been used by Prasad to prove a uniqueness result for Tits systems in quasi-reductive groups. Our final result is a generalization of the Baer–Suzuki theorem for p-elements with p≥5. 相似文献

We introduce the notion of the (one-parameter subgroup) γ-condition for a map f from a Lie group to its Lie algebra and establish α-theory and γ-theory for Newton’s method for a map f satisfying this condition. Applications to analytic maps are provided, and Smale’s α-theory and γ-theory are extended and developed. In this paper, we establish an oscillation estimate of nonnegative harmonic functions for a pure-jump subordinate Brownian motion. The infinitesimal generator of such subordinate Brownian motion is an integro-differential operator. As an application, we give a probabilistic proof of the following form of relative Fatou theorem for such subordinate Brownian motion X in a bounded κ-fat open set; if u is a positive harmonic function with respect to X in a bounded κ-fat open set D and h is a positive harmonic function in D vanishing on Dc, then the non-tangential limit of u/h exists almost everywhere with respect to the Martin-representing measure of h. 相似文献
