This paper concerns semilinear elliptic equations whose nonlinear term has the formW(x)f(u) whereW changes sign. We study the existence of positive solutions and their multiplicity. The important role played by the negative part ofW is contained in a condition which is shown to be necessary for homogeneousf. In this paper we examine semilinear and nonlinear Neumann problems with a nonsmooth locally Lipschitz potential function. Using variational methods based on the nonsmooth critical point theory, for the semilinear problem we prove a multiplicity result under conditions of double resonance at higher eigenvalues. Our proof involves a nonsmooth extension of the reduction method due to Castro-Lazer-Thews. The nonlinear problem is driven by the p-Laplacian. So first we make some observations about the beginning of the spectrum of (−Δp,W1,p(Z)). Then we prove an existence and multiplicity result. The existence result permits complete double resonance. The multiplicity result specialized in the semilinear case (i.e. p=2) corresponds to the super-sub quadratic situation.  相似文献

We consider the boundary value problem Δu+up=0 in a bounded, smooth domain Ω in R2 with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition and p a large exponent. We find topological conditions on Ω which ensure the existence of a positive solution up concentrating at exactly m points as p→∞. In particular, for a nonsimply connected domain such a solution exists for any given m?1.  相似文献

In this paper we present some existence results for a class of semilinear elliptic variational inequalities, depending on a real parameter λ, with changing sign nonlinearities. The fundamental tool to prove the existence result is a penalization method combined with the Mountain Pass Theorem and the Linking Theorem, respectively in the case λ < λ 1 and λ ≥ λ 1, where λ1 is the first eigenvalue of the uniformly elliptic operator A involved in the variational inequality.  相似文献

In this paper we study the critical points for a locally Lipschitz functional that in some sense will be solutions of an elliptic problem with indefinite discontinuous nonlinearities. We should mention that our results were inspired by the work of Ambrosetti-Badiale [3], Arcoya-Calahorrano [5], Alama-Tarantello [1] and Chang [8]. For the problem studied in [3] we introduce indefinite nonlinearities as in [1] and [6]. To obtain the existence and multiplicity of solutions we use the critical points theory developed by Chang.
