The critical behavior of the Ising model on fractal substrates with noninteger Hausdorff dimension dH<2 and infinite ramification order is studied by means of the short-time critical dynamic scaling approach. Our determinations of the critical temperatures and critical exponents β, γ, and ν are compared to the predictions of the Wilson-Fisher expansion, the Wallace-Zia expansion, the transfer matrix method, and more recent Monte Carlo simulations using finite-size scaling analysis. We also determined the effective dimension (def), which plays the role of the Euclidean dimension in the formulation of the dynamic scaling and in the hyperscaling relationship def=2β/ν+γ/ν. Furthermore, we obtained the dynamic exponent z of the nonequilibrium correlation length and the exponent θ that governs the initial increase of the magnetization. Our results are consistent with the convergence of the lower-critical dimension towards d=1 for fractal substrates and suggest that the Hausdorff dimension may be different from the effective dimension.  相似文献

We consider bond percolation on $\mathbb{Z}^d$ at the critical occupation density p c for d>6 in two different models. The first is the nearest-neighbor model in dimension d?6. The second model is a “spread-out” model having long range parameterized by L in dimension d>6. In the spread-out case, we show that the cluster of the origin conditioned to contain the site x weakly converges to an infinite cluster as |x|→∞ when d>6 and L is sufficiently large. We also give a general criterion for this convergence to hold, which is satisfied in the case d?6 in the nearest-neighbor model by work of Hara.(12) We further give a second construction, by taking p<p c , defining a measure $\mathbb{Q}^p $ and taking its limit as pp ? c . The limiting object is the high-dimensional analogue of Kesten's incipient infinite cluster (IIC) in d=2. We also investigate properties of the IIC such as bounds on the growth rate of the cluster that show its four-dimensional nature. The proofs of both the existence and of the claimed properties of the IIC use the lace expansion. Finally, we give heuristics connecting the incipient infinite cluster to invasion percolation, and use this connection to support the well-known conjecture that for d>6 the probability for invasion percolation to reach a site x is asymptotic to c|x|?(d?4) as |x|→∞.  相似文献

We derive a set of inequalities for thed-dimensional independent percolation problem. Assuming the existence of critical exponents, these inequalities imply: $$\begin{gathered} f + v \geqq 1 + \beta _Q , \hfill \\ \mu + v \geqq 1 + \beta _Q , \hfill \\ \zeta \geqq \min \left\{ {1,\frac{{v^, }}{v}} \right\}, \hfill \\ \end{gathered} $$ where the above exponents aref: the flow constant exponent, ν(ν′): the correlation length exponent below (above) threshold, μ: the surface tension exponent, β Q : the backbone density exponent and ζ: the chemical distance exponent. Note that all of these inequalities are mean-field bounds, and that they relate the exponentv defined from below the percolation threshold to exponents defined from above threshold. Furthermore, we combine the strategy of the proofs of these inequalities with notions of finite-size scaling to derive: $$\max \{ dv,dv^, \} \geqq 1 + \beta _Q ,$$ whered is the lattice dimension. Since β Q ≧2β, where β is the percolation density exponent, the final bound implies that, below six dimensions, the standard order parameter and correlation length exponents cannot simultaneously assume their mean-field values; hence an implicit bound on the upper critical dimension:d c ≧6.  相似文献

The results of an experimental study of the formation of nanometer-size Au clusters on NaCl(100) and HOPG(0001) surfaces under pulsed laser deposition are presented. No clusters of small sizes (d ≤ 1 nm) have been found in the cluster size distribution. The distribution itself at d < 5 nm has the form of a percolation distribution. It has been established that the perimeter of clusters with sizes d < 5 nm has a fractal structure. The fractal dimension of clusters is different for NaCl(100) and HOPG(0001) surfaces with different symmetries; it decreases with increasing cluster size from D f ≈ 1.2–1.4 at d ≈ 1.5 nm to D f ≈ 1 at d ≈ 5 nm. A physical mechanism of nanocluster formation is suggested. Under pulsed laser deposition, the attainable densities of adatoms are close to the percolation threshold in the region of thermodynamically unstable states and many-particle correlation regions are formed in a spatially inhomogeneous adsorbate. Clusters are formed on the surface from many-particle correlation regions in several diffusion jumps. The suggested mechanism allows the fractal dimension of the clusters forming on surfaces with different symmetries, its dependence on cluster size, and the cluster size distribution functions to be calculated.  相似文献

We study the dynamical behavior of vehicular traffic through a sequence of traffic lights positioned self-similarly on a highway, where all traffic lights turn on and off simultaneously with cycle time Ts. The signals are positioned self-similarly by Cantor set. The nonlinear-map model of vehicular traffic controlled by self-similar signals is presented. The vehicle exhibits the complex behavior with varying cycle time. The tour time is much lower such that signals are positioned periodically with the same interval. The arrival time T(x) at position x scales as (T(x)-x)∝xdf, where df is the fractal dimension of Cantor set. The landscape in the plot of T(x)−x against cycle time Ts shows a self-affine fractal with roughness exponent α=1−df.  相似文献

Spectra of highly ionized tungsten, gold and lead emitted from the TEXT tokamak have been recorded in the 20–70 Å range by means of a grazing incidence, time-resolving spectrograph. The narrow and bright emission bands centered around 40, 45 and 50 Å in Pb, Au and W respectively, and bands of lesser intensities at lower wavelenghts, are emitted by a very large number of superimposed lines originating from transitions of the type 4d104fn−4d94fn+1, 4d104fn−4d94fn5p and 4fn−4fn−15l (l=d, g). The isoelectronic analysis shows that at the electron temperatures prevailing in the present experiment, Te≈800 eV, there are no contributions to the bands from ions having a 4p64dn ground state. This, together with the experimental measurement of the electron temperature profile, indicates that the heavy ion impurity distribution in the tokamak plasma is very close to ionization equilibrium.  相似文献

Proton holes states have been studied up toE x=17 MeV andE x=3.5 MeV in the119In nucleus via the120Sn(d,3He)119In reaction respectively atE d=108.4 MeV andE d=51 MeV. DWBA analysis of angular distributions has allowedl attributions for a large number of new levels and the determination of valence and inner hole strength distributions. The first 1g 9/2, 2p 1/2 and 2p 3/2 levels only exhaust 40%, 60% and 32% of their respective sum rule limits. The missing strengths are shared among several low lying levels and significant higher lying contributions. The 1f strength, not identified in the previous experiments is spread fromE x=1 MeV to about 17 MeV. The low lying levels aroundE x=2.4 MeV could exhaust some 40% of the 1f 5/2 sum rule. The higher lying strength with a flat maximum aroundE x=7.5 MeV could account for the 1f 7/2inner hole strength and the missing 1f 5/2 valence strength. The experimental strength functions compare rather well with the predictions of the quasiparticle-phonon model.  相似文献

Thed-dimensional, nearest-neighbor disordered Ising ferromagnet: $$H = - \sum {J_{ij} \sigma _i \sigma _j }$$ is studied as a function of both temperature,T, and a disorder parameter,λ, which measures the size of fluctuations of couplingsJ ij ≧0. A finite-size scaling correlation length,ζ f (T, λ), is defined in terms of the magnetic response of finite samples. This correlation length is shown to be equivalent, in the scaling sense, to the quenched average correlation lengthζ(T, λ), defined as the asymptotic decay rate of the quenched average two-point function. Furthermore, the magnetic response criterion which definesζ f is shown to have a scale-invariant property at the critical point. The above results enable us to prove that the quenched correlation length satisfies: $$C\left| {\log \xi (T)} \right|\xi (T) \geqq \left| {T - T_c } \right|^{ - {2 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {2 d}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} d}}$$ which implies the boundv≧2/d for the quenched correlation length exponent.  相似文献

The phase transition and magnetic properties of a ferromagnet spin-S, a disordered diluted thin and semi-infinite film with a face-centered cubic lattice are investigated using the high-temperature series expansions technique extrapolated with Padé approximants method for Heisenberg, XY and Ising models. The reduced critical temperature of the system τc is studied as function of the thickness of the thin film and the exchange interactions in the bulk, and within the surfaces Jb, Js and J, respectively. It is found that τc increases with the exchange interactions of surface. The magnetic phase diagrams (τc versus the dilution x) and the percolation threshold are obtained. The shifts of the critical temperatures Tc(l) from the bulk value (Tc(∞)/Tc(l) − 1) can be described by a power law lλ, where λ = 1/υ is the inverse of the correlation length exponent.  相似文献

Two, replica symmetry breaking specific, quantities of the Ising spin glass — the breakpoint x1 of the order parameter function and the Almeida-Thouless line — are calculated in six dimensions (the upper critical dimension of the replicated field theory used), and also below and above it. The results confirm that replica symmetry breaking does exist below d=6, and also the tendency of its escalation for decreasing dimension continues. As a new feature, x1 has a nonzero and universal value for d<6 at criticality. Near six dimensions we have x1c=3(6−d)+O[2(6−d)]. A method to expand a generic theory with replica equivalence around the replica symmetric one is also demonstrated.  相似文献

Off-lattice dynamic Monte-Carlo simulations were done of reversible cluster-cluster aggregation for spheres that form rigid bonds at contact. The equilibrium properties were found to be determined by the life time of encounters between two particles (te). te is a function not only of the probability to form or break a bond, but also of the elementary step size of the Brownian motion of the particles. In the flocculation regime the fractal dimension of the clusters is df=2.0 and the size distribution has a power law decay with exponent τ=1.5. At larger values of te transient gels are formed. Close to the percolation threshold the clusters have a fractal dimension df=2.7 and the power law exponent of the size distribution is τ=2.1. The transition between flocculation and percolation occurs at a characteristic weight average aggregation number that decreases with increasing volume fraction.  相似文献

The dependence of magnetic moment and susceptibility on temperature, magnetic field and frequency of some single crystals Mn1?x Zn x F2 (xx e=0.75—percolation limit) were experimentally investigated. Our experiments show that (Bazhan and Petrov 1984; Cowleyet al 1984; Villain 1984) in these crystals the nonequilibrium magnetic state of spinglass type with finite correlation length appears as temperature decreasesT<T in weak magnetic fields. This state is determined by fluctuation magnetic moments √ (wheren is the number of magnetic ions, corresponding to finite correlation length andμ the magnetic moment Mn+1). In the experiments in low magnetic fields and frequencies there are no peculiarities in the magnetic susceptibility temperature dependence atTT f. At temperaturesT>T f andT<T f magnetic susceptibility is determined by 1 $$\chi \left( {T > T_f } \right) = \frac{{N\left\langle \mu \right\rangle ^2 }}{{3k\left( {T + \theta } \right)}} = \frac{N}{n}\frac{{\left\langle {\sqrt n \mu } \right\rangle ^2 }}{{3k\left( {T + \theta } \right)}} = \chi \left( {T< T_f } \right)$$ . In strong magnetic fields and large frequencies there are peculiarities in thex(T) dependence atT=T f. AtT<T f and strong magnetic fieldsX(T)=x 0 andT<T f and at large frequenciesx(T)=x 0+α/T. The dependences of magnetic susceptibility on the frequency are determined by the magnetic system relaxation. Calculations and comparison with experiments show that the relaxation of the investigated magnetic systems atT<T f follows the relaxation lawM(t)=M(0) exp[?(t/τ) r ], suggested in Palmeret al (1984) for spin-glasses relaxation taking into account the time relaxation distributionτ 0....τ max in the system and its ‘hierarchically’ dynamics.  相似文献

Electrical, optical and lattice-constant measurements on single crystalline UxY1-xSb (x=0, 0.01, 0.03, 0.08, 0.15, 0.20, 0.30, 0.70 and 1) reveal a nonmagnetic U 5f2 singlet groundstate for x ? 0.15, a lowering of the f3→f2d1 transition energy with decreasing x for x > 0.15 and a marked anomaly of the lattice parameter for x ? 0.15. These results as well as the anomalous concentration dependence of the U moment can be described by a valence transition of U at a concentration of about 15% U (x = 0.15).  相似文献

Abstract

We study efficiency of autoionization and recombination transitions for europium in CaxCd1-xF2 host lattice depending on the energy level position of Eu2+ 4f65d1(e) excited states in respect to the conduction band (CB) states. From photoluminescence (PL) and absorption measurements we conclude that for x in the range of 1 - 0.65 thermalization within the 4f65d1(e) multiplet is faster than the appropriate autoionization transition. For x > 0.65, when all the excited 4f65d1 states are degenerate with the CB autoionization is immediate, Eu2+ intra-ion emission is quenched and a new Eu-related emission appears, which we tentatively assign to a radiative capture emission of hot nonequilibrium electrons.  相似文献

We study the chiral-odd transversity spin-dependent quark distribution function h1(x) of the nucleon in a constituent quark model. The twist-2 structure functions, f1(x), g1(x) and h1(x) are calculated within the diquark spectator approximation. Whereas an inequality f1(x) > h1(x) > g1(x) holds with the interaction between quark and diquark being scalar, the axial-vector effective quark-diquark interaction, which contributes to the d-quark distribution, does not lead to such a simple relation. We find that h1(x) for the d-quark becomes somewhat smaller than g1d(x), when we fix the model parameter to reproduce known other structure functions. We also include corrections due to the non-trivial structure of the constituent quark, which is modeled by the Goldstone boson dressing. This improves agreements of f1(x) and g1(x) with experiments, and brings further reduction of h1d(x) distribution. Consequences for semi-inclusive experiments are also discussed.  相似文献

Invariant single-particle cross sections for pion and proton production in π±p interactions at 8 and 16 GeV/c are presented in terms of integrated distributions as functions of x, reduced rapidity ζ and p2, and also in terms of double differential cross sections E d2σ/(dx dp2) and dζ dp2). A comparison of π± and π? induced reactions is made and the energy dependence is discussed. It is shown that the single-particle structure function cannot be factorized in its dependece on transverse and longitudinal momentum. For the beam-unlike pion, there is an indication for factorizability in terms of rapidity and transverse momentum in a small central region.  相似文献

The Curie temperature Tc of a proximity sample composed of a thin film of a weak itinerant ferromagnet of thickness df in contact with a thick film of an enhanced parmagnetic metal is calculated using the Hubbard model in the Hartree-Fock approximation. The sample is paramagnetic for values of df less than a critical thickness df0 of the order of the coherence length. The shape of the curve of Tc vs. df for df > df0 depends on whether the bulk ferromagnet exhibits a Curie-Weiss or a Pauli susceptibility above the bulk Curie temperature. The letter is concluded by comments on the experimental situation.  相似文献

Experimental results on EuxSr1?xS provide clear evidence for a cooperative phenomenon at the spin-glass transition, as distinguished from ordinary thermal blocking of superparamagnetic clusters. Only below the percolation threshold xp = 0.13 can single-clusters aspects be separated clearly (superparamagnetic regime). In the spin-glass regime for x >xp, susceptibility and remanent magnetization are studied near the freezing temperature in dependence on temperature, magnetic field and observation time. The anomalous slow relaxations of the remanent magnetization, which follow a power-law, exhibit a strong variation just near Tf0, the transition temperature deduced from static magnetization measurements. In addition, Tf values derived from ac-χ measurements are distinctly frequency dependent; the frequency variation decreases towards low frequencies and seems to saturate near the Tf0 value. The strong sensitivity of χ(Tf) to even small applied fields can be represented by a universal function independent of concentration. All these results emphasize the importance of the interactions among the spin clusters of spin glasses which are partially frustrated.  相似文献
