A ring R is an IPQ (isomorphic proper quotient)-ring if R ? R/A for every proper ideal A ? R. If every ideal A ? R satisfies: either R ? A or R ? R/A, then R is called an SE (self extending)-ring. It is shown that with one exception, an abelian group G is the additive group of an IPQ-ring if and only if G is the additive group of an SE-ring. The one exception is the infinite cyclic group Z. The zeroring with additive group Z is an SE-ring, but a ring with infinite cyclic additive group is not an IPQ-ring. Since the structure of the additive groups of IPQ-rings is known, the structure of the additive groups of SE-rings is completely determined.  相似文献

Abstract A model of sustainable economic growth in an economy with two types of exhaustible resources is analyzed. The resources are assumed to be perfect substitutes with marginal rate of substitution varying over time. The optimal control framework is used to characterize the optimal paths under the maximin criterion. It is shown that the resource with increasing productivity is not used before the constant productivity resource is depleted. Afterwards the resource with an increasing productivity is asymptotically depleted as well. The results are based on an assumption that transversality conditions hold. A new sufficient condition for the transversality conditions is derived. Finally, an analogue of Hartwick’s rule for this non‐autonomous case is established.  相似文献

This article is concerned with gradient flows in asymmetric metric spaces, that is, spaces with a topology induced by an asymmetric metric. Such an asymmetry appears naturally in many applications, e.g., in mathematical models for materials with hysteresis. A framework of asymmetric gradient flows is established under the assumption that the metric is weakly lower-semicontinuous in the second argument (and not necessarily on the first), and an existence theorem for gradient flows defined on an asymmetric metric space is given.  相似文献

As an application of an optimization technique, a gradient-projection method is employed to derive an adaptive algorithm for updating the parameters of an inverse which is designed to cancel the effects of actuator uncertainties in a control system. The actuator uncertainty is parametrized by a set of unknown parameters which belong to a parameter region. A desirable inverse is implemented with adaptive estimates of the actuator parameters. Minimizing an estimation error, a gradient algorithm is used to update such parameter estimates. To ensure that the parameter estimates also belong to the parameter region, the adaptive update law is designed with parameter projection. With such an adaptive inverse, desired control system performance can be achieved despite the presence of the actuator uncertainties.  相似文献

Conditions are found under which a multicriteria problem with a finite set of vector estimates is solvable by means of the linear criteria convolution (LCC) algorithm, that is, any Pareto optimum for the problem can be obtained as an optimum solution to a one-criterion problem with an aggregated criterion defined as an LCC. Also, an algorithm is suggested that is polynomial in dimension and reduces any problem with minimax and minimin criteria to an equivalent vector problem with the same Pareto set solvable by the LCC algorithm. A brief review of asymptotic methods to deal with frictionless unilateral contact problems for an elastic layer of finite thickness is presented. Under the assumption that the contact radius is small with respect to the layer thickness, an effective asymptotic method is suggested for solving the unilateral contact problem with a priori unknown contact radius. A specific feature of the method is that the construction of an asymptotic approximation is reduced to a linear algebraic system with respect to integral characteristics (polymoments) of the contact pressure. The existence of an optimal control is proved and necessary conditions for a given function to be an optimal control are found. This paper is mainly concerned with existence of mild solutions for first-order impulsive neutral integro-differential inclusions with nonlocal initial conditions in α-norm. We assume that the undelayed part generates an analytic resolvent operator and transforms it into an integral equation. By using a fixed point theorem for condensing multivalued maps, a main existence theorem is established. As an application of this main theorem, a practical consequence is derived for the sublinear growth case. Finally, we present an application to a neutral partial integro-differential equation with Dirichlet and nonlocal initial conditions.  相似文献

We develop a theory of ordered *-algebras with an order unit. These are complex algebras equipped with a conjugate-linear vector space involution whose hermitian elements form an ordered real algebra with an order unit but not necessarily with a multiplicative identity. Our main result is a representation theorem for ordered *-algebras with an order unit. This can be viewed as the complex and the non-unital version of the representation theorem of Stone and Kadison for ordered real algebras containing an order unit which is a multiplicative identity. A key role in our approach is played by certain weighted function algebras.  相似文献

This paper deals with the design and analysis of adaptive wavelet method for the Stokes problem. First, the limitation of Richardson iteration is explained and the multiplied matrix M0 in the paper of Bramble and Pasciak is proved to be the simplest possible in an appropiate sense. Similar to the divergence operator, an exact application of its dual is shown; Second, based on these above observations, an adaptive wavelet algorithm for the Stokes problem is designed. Error analysis and computational complexity are given; Finally, since our algorithm is mainly to deal with an elliptic and positive definite operator equation, the last section is devoted to the Galerkin solution of an elliptic and positive definite equation. It turns out that the upper bound for error estimation may be improved.  相似文献

Let X be an algebraic surface defined over the complex field and endowed with an -fibration. As such a surface we have a Platonic -fiber space, a weighted hypersurface with its singular point deleted off and, more generally, an affine algebraic surface with an unmixed -action and its fixpoint deleted off. We consider an étale endomorphism and show that is an automorphism in most cases. Of particular interest is the case of a Platonic -fiber space, for which being an automorphism is closely related to the Jacobian Problem for the affine plane . We introduce a new preconditioner, ILUCP, to be used with an iterative method for solving sparse linear systems. It is based on an incomplete LU factorization combining Crout's formulation of Gaussian elimination with pivoting by columns. It is usually faster than ILUTP, which is based on a delayed update version of Gaussian elimination with pivoting, but requires more memory. Multiobjective linear programming algorithms are typically based on value maximization. However, there is a growing body of experimental evidence showing that decision maker behavior is inconsistent with value maximization. Tversky and Simonson provide an alternative model for problems with a discrete set of choices. Their model, called the componential context model, has been shown to capture observed decision maker behavior. In this paper, an interactive multiobjective linear programming algorithm is developed which follows the rationale of Tversky and Simonson. The algorithm is illustrated with an example solved using standard linear programming software. Finally, an interactive decision support system based on this algorithm is developed to field test the usefulness of the algorithm. Results show that this algorithm compares favorably with an established algorithm in the field.  相似文献

Abstract

This article is concerned with the problem of guaranteed cost control for a class of uncertain stochastic impulsive systems with Markovian switching. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first time that such a problem is investigated for stochastic impulsive systems with Markovian switching. For an uncontrolled system, the conditions in terms of certain linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) are obtained for robust stochastical stability and an upper bound is given for the cost function. For the controlled systems, a set of LMIs is developed to design a linear state feedback controller which can stochastically stabilize the class of systems under study and guarantee the given cost function to have an upper bound. Further, an optimization problem with LMI constraints is formulated to minimize the guaranteed cost of the closed-loop system. Finally, a numerical example is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.  相似文献
