FT-IR (4000-100 cm(-1)) and FT-Raman (4000-100 cm(-1)) spectra of solid sample of 4-chloro-2-fluoro toluene (4Cl2FT) have been recorded using Bruker IFS 66 V spectrometer. Ab initio-HF (HF/6-311++G (d, p)) and DFT (B3LYP/6-311++G and B3PW91/6-311++G (d, p)) calculations have been performed giving energies, optimized structures, harmonic vibrational frequencies, depolarization ratios, IR intensities, Raman activities. The vibrational frequencies are calculated and scaled values are compared with FT-IR and FT-Raman experimental values. The isotropic HF and DFT analyses showed good agreement with experimental observations. The differences between the observed and scaled wave number values of most of the fundamentals are very small in B3LYP than HF. Comparison of the simulated spectra provides important information about the ability of the computational method (B3LYP) to describe the vibrational modes. The influences of substitutions on the geometry of molecule and its normal modes of vibrations have also been discussed. The changes made by substitutions on the benzene are much responsible for the non-linearity of the molecule. This is an attractive entity for the future studies of non-linear optics.  相似文献

Fourier-transform Raman and infrared spectra of 2-nitroanisole are recorded (4000-100 cm(-1)) and interpreted by comparison with respective theoretical spectra calculated using HF and DFT method. The geometrical parameters with C(S) symmetry, harmonic vibrational frequencies, infrared and Raman scattering intensities are determined using HF/6-311++G (d, p), B3LYP/6-311+G (d, p), B3LYP/6-311++G (d, p) and B3PW91/6-311++G (d, p) level of theories. A detailed vibrational spectral analysis has been carried out and assignments of the observed fundamental bands have been proposed on the basis of peak positions and relative intensities. The results of the calculations have been used to simulate IR and Raman spectra for the molecule that showed good agreement with the observed spectra. The SQM method, which implies multiple scaling of the DFT force fields has been shown superior to the uniform scaling approach. The vibrational frequencies and the infrared intensities of the C-H modes involved in back-donation and conjugation are also investigated.  相似文献

Conventional ab initio (RHF) and DFT-B3LYP level calculations in conjunction with a variety of basis sets have been used to investigate the variations in the bond lengths, dipole moment, rotational constant, quadruple coupling constants, infrared frequencies, IR intensities and rotational invariants of BrCCCN. Satisfactory agreements between the B3LYP and experimental values were found for bond lengths, rotational constant, dipole moment and all other parameters. All the calculated bond lengths are in good agreement with each other for a given method having the average standard deviations varying between ±0.005 Å at the B3LYP level. Harmonic vibrational frequencies obtained from the B3LYP calculations show good agreement with the available experimental data. The global atomic polar tensor charges, used for interpreting the IR intensities, of all the atoms of BrCCCN have been calculated at the RHF and B3LYP levels in conjunction with the 6-311g(d) and 6-311++g(d,p) basis sets. Linear regression analysis between calculated and experimental infrared frequencies as well as between IR intensities in a series of 15 similar type of nitrile compounds have been achieved at the B3LYP/6-311++g(d,p) level and gives linear regression coefficients 0.983 and 0.970 respectively. Finally, a number of linear relations were found between r(CN) bond lengths and GAPT charges, and GAPT charges on CHELPG and MK charges at the nitrogen atom for these molecules and proved to be producing satisfactory results at the B3LYP/6-311++g(d,p) level of calculations.  相似文献

The FT-Raman and FT-IR spectra for benzenesulfonic acid methyl ester (BSAME) have been recorded in the region 4000-100 cm(-1) and compared with the harmonic vibrational frequencies calculated using DFT (LSDA, B3LYP, B3PW91 and MPW1PW91) method by employing 6-311G (d, p) basis set with appropriate scale factors. IR intensities and Raman activities are also calculated by DFT (LSDA, B3LYP, B3PW91 and MPW1PW91) methods. Optimized geometries of the molecule have been interpreted and compared with the reported experimental values for sulfonic acid and some substituted sulfonic acids. The experimental geometrical parameters show satisfactory agreement with the theoretical prediction from DFT. The scaled vibrational frequencies at LSDA/B3LYP/6-311G (d, p) seem to coincide with the experimentally observed values with acceptable deviations. The theoretical spectrograms (IR and Raman) have been constructed and compared with the experimental FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra. Some of the vibrational frequencies of the sulfonic acid are effected upon profusely with the methyl substitution in comparison to benzene sulfonamide and these differences are interpreted.  相似文献

Density functional theory (DFT) and Hartree-Fock calculations were performed using the following models: HF/6-311G(d), B3LYP/6-311G(d), B3LYP/6-311+G(d) and B3PW91/6-311G(d) calculations were performed for biotin. It has been characterized by IR and X-ray. The calculated results show that the predicted geometry can well reproduce the structural parameters. Predicted vibrational frequencies have been assigned and compared with experimental IR spectra and they supported each other. On the basis of vibrational analyses, the thermodynamic properties of the title compound at different temperatures have been calculated, revealing the correlations between Cp,m degrees, Sm degrees, Hm degrees and temperatures.  相似文献

Density functional theory (DFT) methods with various exchange-correlation functionals such as SVWN, BVWN, BVWN5, BLYP, B1LYP, B3LYP, B3PW91, and BH and H are employed in a theoretical study of molecular boric-acid in gas-phase. In the calculations, the split valence 6-311++G** and 6-31G* basis sets were used. The geometry, zero-point vibrational energies (ZPVEs), and harmonic infrared vibrational (IR) frequencies are predicted. The calculated C3h-symmetry geometrical parameters are compared with Hartree–Fock (HF) calculation results and experimental data. IR frequencies predicted by the BLYP, B3LYP, and B3PW91 calculations are in good agreement with experimental data. The frequency calculations presented here also suggest that the C3h-symmetrical structure corresponds to a minimum in the potential energy surface, but neither is D3h- or C3-symmetrical structure.  相似文献

The B3LYP/6-31+G(d) molecular geometry optimized structures of 17 five-membered heterocycles were employed together with the gauge including atomic orbitals (GIAO) density functional theory (DFT) method at the B3LYP/6-31+G(d,p), B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) and B3LYP/6-311+G(2d,p) levels of theory for the calculation of proton and carbon chemicals shifts and coupling constants. The method of geometry optimization for pyrrole (1), N-methylpyrrole (2) and thiophene (7) using the larger 6-311++G(d,p) basis sets at the B3LYP/6-31+G(d,p), B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p), B3LYP/6-31+G(2d,p) and B3LYP/cc-pVTZ levels of theory gave little difference between calculated and experimental values of coupling constants. In general, the (1)H and 13C chemical shifts for all compounds are in good agreement with theoretical calculations using the smaller 6-31 basis set. The values of nJHH(n=3, 4, 5) and rmnJ(CH)(n=1, 2, 3, 4) were predicted well using the larger 6-31+G(d,p) and 6-311++G(d,p) basis sets and at the B3LYP/6-31+G(d,p), B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p), B3LYP/6-31+G(2d,2p) levels of theory. The computed atomic charges [Mülliken; Natural Bond Orbital Analysis (NBO); Merz-Kollman (MK); CHELP and CHELPG] for the B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) geometry optimized structures of 1-17 were used to explore correlations with the experimental proton and carbon chemical shifts.  相似文献

The rate constants of the nucleophilic reactions between amines and benzhydrylium ions were calculated using first-principles theoretical methods. Solvation models including PCM, CPCM, and COSMORS, as well as different types of atomic radii including UA0, UAKS, UAHF, Bondi, and UFF, and several single-point energy calculation methods (B3LYP, B3P86, B3PW91, BHANDH, PBEPBE, BMK, M06, MP2, and ONIOM method) were exam-ined. By comparing the correlation between experimental rate constants and the calculated values, the ONIOM(CCSD(T)/6-311++G(2df,2p):B3LYP/6-311++G(2df,2p))// B3LYP/6-31G(d)/PCM/UFF) method was found to perform the best. This method was then employed to calculate the rate constants of the reactions between diverse amines and diarylcarbenium ions. The calculated rate constants for 65 reactions of amines with diarylcarbenium ions are in agreement with the experimental values, indicating that it is feasible to predict the rate constant of a reaction between an amine and a diarylcarbenium ion through ab initio calculation.  相似文献

The molecular geometry, vibrational frequencies and NBO analysis of phenylisothiocyanate (PITC) in the ground state have been calculated by using density functional theory calculation (B3LYP) with 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The optimized geometrical parameters obtained by DFT calculations are in good agreement with experimental values. Comparison of the observed fundamental vibrational frequencies of the PITC and calculated result by density functional theory (B3LYP) indicates B3LYP is superior for molecular vibrational problems. The entropy of the title compound was also performed at HF/B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) levels of theory. Natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis of title molecule is also carried out. A detailed interpretation of the IR and Raman spectra of PITC is reported on the basis of the calculated potential energy distribution (PED). The theoretical spectrogram for IR spectrum of the title molecule has been constructed.  相似文献

An extensive exploration of the conformational space has been carried out to characterize all possible gas phase structures of leucine. A total of 324 unique trial structures for canonical leucine were generated by considering all possible combinations of single bond rotamers. All trial structures were optimized at the B3LYP/6-311G* level of the DFT method. A total of 77 unique and stationary canonical conformers were found. Further, 15 most stable conformers were reoptimized at B3LYP/6-311++G** level and their respective relative energies, vertical ionization energies, hydrogen bonding patterns, rotational constants and dipole moments were calculated. A single point energy calculations for leucine conformers have also been done at both B3LYP/6-311++G(2df, p) and MP2/6-311++G(2df, p) levels. The good agreement between our estimates of rotational constants for two most stable conformers and available experimental measurements supports the reliability of the B3LYP/6-311++G** level of theory for describing the conformational behavior of leucine molecule. The proton affinity and gas phase basicity were also determined. Using the statistical approach, conformational distributions at various temperatures have also been performed and analyzed. Vibrational spectra were also calculated. It is also observed that zwitterions of leucine are not stable in gas phase.  相似文献

The GIAO (Gauge Including Atomic Orbitals) DFT (Density Functional Theory) method is applied at the B3LYP/6-31+G(d,p)//B3LYP/6-31+G(d), B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p)//B3LYP/6-31+G(d), B3LYP/6-311+G (2d,p)//B3LYP/6-31+G(d) and B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p)//B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) levels of theory for the calculation of proton and carbon chemicals shifts and coupling constants for 25 nitro-substituted five-membered heterocycles. Difference (1D NOE) spectra in combination with long-range gHMBC experiments were used as tools for the structural elucidation of nitro-substituted five-membered heterocycles. The assigned NMR data (chemical shifts and coupling constants) for all compounds were found to be in good agreement with theoretical calculations using the GIAO DFT method. The magnitudes of one-bond (1JCH) and long-range (nJCH, n>1) coupling constants were utilized for unambiguous differentiation between regioisomers of nitro-substituted five-membered heterocycles.  相似文献

Density functional theory (DFT) levels are employed to calculate the vibrational frequencies and geometrical data of β-diketones. We evaluate the relative performance of the different levels by comparing theoretical results to experimental values. The applied DFT levels in this work are B3LYP, BLYP, B3P86, B3PW91, BPW91, G96LYP, BP86, and G96PW91 with the standard 6-31G, 6-31G*, 6-31G**, 6-31+G**, 6-31++G**, 6-311G**, 6-311++G** basis sets. The best results are obtained at the B3LYP, B3PW91, and B3P86 levels.  相似文献

The knowledge of thermochemical parameters such as the enthalpy of formation, gas-phase basicity, and proton affinity may be the key to understanding molecular reactivity. The obtention of these thermochemical parameters by theoretical chemical models may be advantageous when experimental measurements are difficult to accomplish. The development of ab initio composite models represents a major advance in the obtention of these thermochemical parameters, but these methods do not always lead to accurate values. Aiming at achieving a comparison between the ab initio models and the hybrid models based on the density functional theory (DFT), we have studied gamma-butyrolactone and 2-pyrrolidinone with a goal of obtaining high-quality thermochemical parameters using the composite chemical models G2, G2MP2, MP2, G3, CBS-Q, CBS-4, and CBS-QB3; the DFT methods B3LYP, B3P86, PW91PW91, mPW1PW, and B98; and the basis sets 6-31G(d), 6-31+G(d), 6-31G(d,p), 6-31+G(d,p), 6-31++G(d,p), 6-311G(d), 6-311+G(d), 6-311G(d,p), 6-311+G(d,p), 6-311++G(d,p), aug-cc-pVDZ, and aug-cc-pVTZ. Values obtained for the enthalpies of formation, proton affinity, and gas-phase basicity of the two target molecules were compared to the experimental data reported in the literature. The best results were achieved with the use of DFT models, and the B3LYP method led to the most accurate data.  相似文献

Adiabatic and vertical ionization potentials (IPs) of nine conformers of dopamine in the gas phase are determined using density functional theory (DFT) B3LYP, B3P86, B3PW91 methods and high level ab initio HF method with 6-311++G** basis set, respectively. And the nine stable cationic states have been found in the ionization process of dopamine. Vertical ionization potentials of nine conformers of dopamine are calculated using the older outer-valence Green’s function (OVGF) calculations at 6-311++G** basis set. Vibrational frequencies and infrared spectrum intensities of G1b and G1b+ at B3LYP/6-311++G** level are discussed.  相似文献

In the present study, the FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 4-chloro-2-methylaniline (4CH2MA) have been recorded in the range of 4000-100 cm(-1). The fundamental modes of vibrational frequencies of 4CH2MA are assigned. All the geometrical parameters have been calculated by HF and DFT (LSDA, B3LYP and B3PW91) methods with 6-31G (d, p) and 6-311G (d, p) basis sets. Optimized geometries of the molecule have been interpreted and compared with the reported experimental values for aniline and some substituted aniline. The harmonic and anharmonic vibrational wavenumbers, IR intensities and Raman activities are calculated at the same theory levels used in geometry optimization. The calculated frequencies are scaled and compared with experimental values. The scaled vibrational frequencies at LSDA/B3LYP/6-311G (d, p) seem to coincide with the experimentally observed values with acceptable deviations. The impact of substitutions on the benzene structure is investigated. The molecular interactions between the substitutions (Cl, CH(3) and NH(2)) are also analyzed.  相似文献

In this work, the comparative analysis is made on the structure and vibrational spectra of 1,2-Dinitro benzene (1,2-DNB) and 1-Fluoro-3-nitro benzene (1-F-3-NB) molecules. The FT-IR and FT-Raman experimental spectra of the molecules have been recorded using Bruker IFS 66 V spectrometer in the range of 4000-100 cm(-1). Making use of the recorded data, the complete vibrational assignments are made and analyses of the observed fundamental bands of molecules are carried out. The experimental determinations of vibrational frequencies are compared with those obtained theoretically from ab-initio Hartree-fock (HF) and DFT (B3LYP and B3PW91) methods with 6-31++G (d, p) and 6-311++G (d, p) basis sets. The differences between the observed and scaled wave number values of most of the fundamentals of the molecules are very small in B3LYP than HF. The geometries and normal modes of vibrations obtained from ab-initio HF and B3LYP/B3PW91 calculations are compared with the experimentally observed data. Comparison of the simulated spectra of the molecules provides important information regarding the difference and similarity of the vibrational characteristics between the molecules. The impact of substitutions on the structures between the molecules is also investigated.  相似文献

Optimized geometries and vibrational frequencies were calculated for the hexamolybdoaluminate(III), [AlIII(OH)6Mo6O18]3-, Anderson-type heteropolyanion with the HF, B3LYP, B3PW91, B3P86 and B1LYP methods of theory using the LanL2DZ, SDD and combination of LanL2DZ with 6-31G (d, p) basis sets. The agreement between the optimized and experimental geometries was in the decreasing order: HF, B3P86, B3PW91, B1LYP and B3LYP. The calculated frequencies by the B3LYP have the smallest mean root mean square (RMS) error. The effect of the basis set on the calculated bond lengths and frequencies by the density functional calculations (DFT) methods was minor. The agreement between the previously reported IR and Raman spectra and the calculated values is, in general, good.  相似文献

In this work, FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 1-methoxynapthalene (C(11)H(10)O) have been reported in the regions 4000-400 cm(-1) and 3500-100 cm(-1), respectively. Density functional method (DFT) has been used to calculate the optimized geometrical parameters, atomic charges, vibrational wavenumbers and intensity of the vibrational bands. The vibrational frequencies have been calculated and scaled values are compared with experimental FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra. The structure optimizations and normal coordinate force field calculations are based on density functional theory (DFT) method with B3LYP/3-21G, B3LYP/6-31G, B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) and B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) basis sets. The complete vibrational assignments of wavenumbers are made on the basis of potential energy distribution (PED). The optimized geometric parameters are compared with experimental values of naphthoic acid. The results of the calculation shows excellent agreement between experimental and calculated frequencies in B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The effects due to the substitutions of methyl group and carbon-oxygen bond are also investigated. A study on the electronic properties, such as excitation energies and wavelengths, were performed by time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT) approach. HOMO and LUMO energies are calculated that these energies show charge transfer occurs within the molecule.  相似文献
